  1. It happens every night. The screaming. Chases Errant Blades had woken him the first time. Asked him why he was screaming, thrashing around in his bed. The boy had just laughed, said that it happened pretty much every night. Some nights he screamed, some just thrashing around, sometimes both. On the lucky few nights he would just bolt up right, ready to fight or run. Chase informed him that she didn't care for his stories and to go back to sleep, that sound sleep led to a sound mind and body. After a week of the boy still experiencing the night terrors she took to having him run laps. He complained, but was silenced by her shinai.

  3. Chase would attempt a few other remedies. Tea, meditation, music, in the end cigarettes turned out to help. She has mumbled for the first few weeks about how infuriating it was that she had to deal with a student who was blatantly a junkie. The boy learned quickly that comparing his new habit to the old did little to assuage her anger. More laps, more push-ups, more sit-ups, more squats. The boy had a habit of shutting his mouth when exercising. He didn't take to being compared to a dog well at first. Chase was unconcerned with his thoughts on the matter. If he would require treats to return to sleep, and exercise to be kept docile, then he was nothing more than a larger, more excitable dog.
