This is what I run on my boom boom.

Gun: Flame Resonance (Talents)

Accessory's

Muzzle: Large Brake
Optic: Compact Relflex Sight
Tactics: Tiactical Laser Sight
Magazine: Large LMG Drum Mag
Ammo Tungsten LMG Ammo

Armor 4 Piece Shelterer (Head, Mask, Chest, and Pants)
      BBQ Gloves
      Renegade Shoes for reload speed
      Use Rabbit fur on boots and mask
Armor Mods:

Head: Deviation Expert (Talents)
Mask: Blaze Amplifier (Talents)
Chest: Quick Comeback (Talents)
Pants: Precision Charge (Talents)
Gloves: Status Enhancement (Talents)
Shoes: Covered Advance (Talents)

When possible, get status damage on the mod.

This also works reasonably well for the pulse crossbow.
