Samedi cares little for order, natural or dragon-made. A student of both the scientific and supernatural arts, Samedi believes there to be a solution for every problem one encounters in the world. This belief is what lead Samedi on a search for the cure to the most contagious disease of all: death.

You see, in Samedi's world, death exists only to eat the most precious resource of all: time. With enough time, any discovery would be possible; any undertaking could be completed with plenty of life to spare. Samedi's efforts toward a cure for death lead him to discover the notion of vampires. While most derided his notion as harebrained at best, Samedi was sure there had to be a grain of truth to the myth and set out to find it. In the end, it was the truth that did the finding when Elisheba came to him with an offer of a place in her world.

They were of a similar mind, it seemed. Elisheba also wanted to learn more of her kind, though for reasons somewhat apart from Samedi's. Still, Elisheba offered him access to real vampire samples, in exchange for his work on a potion to cure her weakness to sunlight. Samedi leapt at the chance. He's since cracked the Illumium serum code, producing a potion that not only preserves vampires against sunlight but grants them strength in the light. He's yet to cure death for the remainder of dragonkind ... yet.
