What's the difference between ( IC ) in character and ( OOC ) out of character? REQUIRED

In Character revolves around what's happening in the IC world, where you play as your character and you are not yourself, you are controlling a character. Out of character is where you are yourself, and not playing as your character. When you /pm someone or /b, that's out of character.
What should /pm be used for and what shouldn’t it be used for? (2 examples of each) REQUIRED

/pm should be used for pretty much anything, except when it violates server rules, like metagaming. /pm should be used for speaking in another language, not for metagaming. /pm can also be used to not disrupt the flow of roleplay for others, a substitute for /b.

Metagaming is where you apply out of character information to your in character roleplay, such as using a communication app like Discord, telling your friends to come save you while you are getting robbed. Powergaming is doing unrealistic actions, and forcing your roleplay on others without giving them a chance to respond to your roleplay.

I've played on the server LSRP for quite a while, being in factions. Currently, I am in a street gang, and I've been in organized crime factions in the past, and criminal groups. I played OGRP for a month or some time, a while ago. I don't remember much about it, though.
