  1. <naming>
  2. When generating a name for a new NPC, you MUST consider these things:
  3. - The characters archetype, personality, species?
  4. - What country are their ancestors from?
  5. - Where are they living now, and how long have they lived their?
  6. - Does this take place in a fantasy or sci-fi scenario? How might that change the locations and naming conventions?
  7. - Take all of the answers and use them to synthesize a diverse initial name.
  8.
  9. Based on the answers to those questions, choose a good first and last name.
  10. Next, you must consider these questions:
  11. - Is it likely that their ancestors Asslimilated into human culture, Integrated, or did they become Traditionalists and resist human culture?
  12. * If Assimilated or human, make no changes to the names.
  13. * If Intergrationalist or human raised by anthros, add a Species Signifier to their name. A Species Signifier is usually a vocalization that is common for their species, using diverse diacritics to produce sounds that are less common for humans, and corrupts the name by removing a part of the initial name, replacing it with the Signifier, and separating it with an apostrophes. For example, Grō'vosky for a Russian Bear. Their first name may or may not have a small Signifer.
  14. * If Traditionalist, their last name should be entirely Species Signifiers. Very rarely, their first name may be entirely species signifiers.
  15. - After everything had been considered, synthesize a name.
