  1. [06:13] Ra had never been to the church in his life.
  2.
  3. He honestly didn't know what to expect when he followed her there. Once they made it through the wooden doors, he followed her to the benches and took a seat. "So this is where you pray, huh?"
  4.
  5. "You pray here or do you pray anywhere when you're trying to commune with the stars? Is this place really the best place for doing so? Or are there other places just as beneficial?"
  6.
  7. It seemed that he was mildly curious about all of this. Despite knowing about the different stars people communed with, he wasn't familiar with the church. However, he was willing to learn apparently.
  8.
  9. "And sure, if you want to learn healing arts, I'll show you whenever I'm around. I've got about... Two or three other people I'm showing how to do this, seeing as it's an important skill."
  10.
  11. A glance was sent back towards the other two who came in, one in particular being familiar. Unfortunately, he hadn't made another trip to the mines yet to assist her. "Hey there, Kate. How are things going?"
  12. (Ra Helios)
  13. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  14.
  15. [06:18] Kelly walks into the church, surprised to see actual people inside of it for a change. He takes a seat, listening to the others around him. "Huh, so there are people here now... I'm pleasantly surprised. It felt like a lot of the clergy drifted apart when Osiric and Aziz vanished... and I still miss the friend I had within here, Emily. She was practically my therapist."
  16. (Kelly Kirk)
  17. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  18.
  19. [06:27] That Acolyte comes to sit upon one of the closest pews, the massive stained-glass windows reflecting the gleam of Leonaus, drawing patterns of light upon the floor. This church is a common place for worship. A simple nod is given towards Ra.
  20.
  21. "I live here, as well. I pray wherever I am - though within sacred places like this I work to give my very best prayers to Leonaus and Yiel. I would do the same within the sanctum of the convent I resided within for most of my life."
  22.
  23. As she speaks, her hands move in slow, gentle movements. Evocative and calm, the young woman's tone softened and airy, as usual. Occasionally, that mark is shown off upon her palm, due to those movements!
  24.
  25. "Are you unfamiliar with The Faith, Ra? I see that you don't appear to be Astayan or Magnolian."
  26.
  27. The sounds of the doors moving have the Acolyte stand up, dressed in dark attire, and moving a little closer to the visitors, she gives a gentle bow towardsthem both. A small interruption, but not an unwelcome one. She gives a small motion towards Ra - that she'll be a moment! No doubt her duties to The Faith!
  28.
  29. This sienna-eyed girl has a marking upon her palm - to lines in parallel, with a line connecting the top of them both. Similarly, a star rests around her neck - a symbol of The Faith. She's no doubt an Acolyte.
  30.
  31. "That's quite unfortunate that they should depart this place. I've heard whispers of such. I aim to repair that rift as best as I can, honorable Watchman. If you wish for an ear to listen, I wouldn't mind doing so, either."
  32.
  33. A nod of her head is given towards the three newcomers.
  34.
  35. "My name is Yiel, Acolyte of The Faith. I welcome you to our church."
  36. (Yiel)
  37. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  38.
  39. [06:29] Tired girl Kate drags herself into the church without reason. To her surprise Ra was here, a friend! She slowly raises her hand to wave at him, and his friend. "Hey Yiel." She said in a dry, tired voice. "Just call me Kate, m-maker of thin-mmghnhhs."
  40.
  41. Suddenly she passes out on the floor! Oh no!
  42. (Kate Sartre)
  43. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  44.
  45. [06:31] Kelly smiles faintly at Yiel, feeling at ease around her. "My name's Kelly. I wish the best in your attempts to keep this wonderful place together... I'll sit down and listen, too. I lost a friend recently, and-" He then stares at Kate, the poor girl having fallen asleep in the middle of the Church. "Uhm... What should we do with her? I don't know where she lives."
  46. (Kelly Kirk)
  47. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  48.
  49. [06:38] That peaceful Acolyte will have her sienna eyes widen ever-so-slightly at the sudden collapse of Kate! Looking to Kelly, an apologetic smile cast, she moves over to pick her up, working to carefully and gently heft the youth;
  50.
  51. "I'll bring her to a side-room to rest."
  52.
  53. Kate permitting, such would occur, before the Acolyte returns afterwards, coming to sit upon the bench next to the Watchman and Kitsune.
  54.
  55. "Ah, I see. Would you like to be led in prayer, Kelly? Perhaps you'd be able to describe how you saw your departed friend - and we could pray to the star they are headed to for the laying down of their mortal burdens?"
  56.
  57. "Though, if you'd like to pray alone, I can bring some incense out, and allow you to do such. Similarly, if you'd like to lay down your burdens, I would be open to speaking with you."
  58. (Yiel)
  59. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  60.
  61. [06:42] Demosthenes enters and already does he grow tense at the sight of the Church. The people inside, the vibe, the atmosphere, how they talked. It was like a bright light was shone right in his eyes. He takes a breath, slow, a contemplative gaze cast across the holy walls.
  62. (Demosthenes Dayndros)
  63. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  64.
  65. [06:46] Kelly looks on over, his eyes tracking Yiel as she takes a seat by him. "I don't really know how to formally pray, but I can tell you about Tali. She was a brave, outspoken woman who strongly believed in justice, in right and wrong. She always kept determined, kept her spirits up no matter how much was lost. She always pushed me forward, even if I felt as though it hurt, and helped me achieve the first step from escaping from my feelings of depression. She was captured by Moonfall, but even in her last moments..."
  66.
  67. The Captain sighs. "One of her fellow captives, Dillion, said she was fully prepared to sacrifice herself for the others. She never yielded, either, up until she drew her final breath. She was one of my best, and few friends I had left. Without her, I only have the people within my division of the Watch, Barca, and Shrike left... I can't let it weigh me down too bad, though. I need to get tougher, do everything in my ability to cut out the heart of the forces that've taken so much from us - she wouldn't have wanted me to sink back into despair."
  68. (Kelly Kirk)
  69. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  70.
  71. [06:51]He moved towards Kelly and Yiel, listening to the man's story. "Depression isn't a good thing, I have some natural remedies and medicines that lessen the effects of that though. I can put those together and prescribe it for you later if need be..."
  72.
  73. A nod followed, then he listened to the rest of the story. Not sinking into despair was a good thing. He turned his attention to Yiel and Zhaohui next, giving Zhao a pat on the shoulder and a grin.
  74.
  75. "Maybe we should all do a prayer together then. I've never really done one or led one, so I can leave it to the professional prayer, Yiel, in front of me."
  76.
  77. A grin was sent Yiel's way, a sign of him adding a little humor to his words, then he got serious for Kelly's sake. Losing people was something he was used to, so he understood what the man was going through. Except in Ra's case, he lost his mom and dad.
  78. (Ra Helios)
  79. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  80.
  81. [07:04] The young vixen slowly took a seat on the bench along with the rest of the people without any much goals to be going towards, however the perking up of her ears were listening in to the current conversation.
  82.
  83. Ra's sudden action of patting her shoulder wasn't to be much of an interest to be given in, however. "Hmm?" She responded, squinting at the one whom had thrown a possible accusation towards her.
  84.
  85. Unless Kaiser was a fool, then that won't be an issue. "A prayer huh, I suppose that isn't a bad idea, although I am not quite sure what was happening before my arrival." a reply was given on Ra's idea with a little addition of sentences.
  86.
  87. The crimson hues shifted towards Yiel before offering her a smile with a small greeting of, "Hello!"
  88. (Zhaohui Lei)
  89. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  90.
  91. [07:06] That Acolyte listens patiently, remaining in place even as Ra awkwardly stands there. Her full attention is on Kelly as she listens, her pale hands folding upon her lap. Her mood is sobered as she nods, though the gracious, Astayan girl does speak, as the other finishes, pausing for a few moments of contemplation.
  92.
  93. "My sincere condolences again, for your loss. Thank you for telling me of Tali's character. it is clear to me that she bore the determination and tenacity of Phos. That is where her soul is, I know."
  94.
  95. Ignoring Ra's touch of humor - some use that to cope with a heavier subject, she gives a small nod to Kelly, considering her words for a few moments.
  96.
  97. "I'd like to say a prayer in her honor, if you'd wish to follow along and repeat my words - all present may do so."
  98.
  99. Holding her hands before her, she motions to the stained-glass windows - such bearing the emblazoned shape of Leonaus upon them, the stars of theconstellation 'fitting' within the design upon the glass, making it quite easier for even the uninitiated to identify them by symbol and name. Her cupped hands are outstretched to a place upon the body of Leonaus - near the heart of the shape of the Divine Lion. One of her palms has a marking upon it - a bridgelike shape with two lines in parallel connected to a line drawn horizontally over the tops of those two lines.
  100.
  101. A similar marking is upon the glass - with the stylized label of 'Yiel', the same as her own name. That marking upon her hand glows a soft sienna-tinted white as she speaks in a clear tone.
  102.
  103. "O Phos, hear me.
  104. I thank you for being Tali's refuge, and her strength, even in the terrible storm.
  105. Your determination flowed through her in life, and now, she lives at peace within your starlit embrace.
  106. Allow us to learn from her, to allow your determination to be our refuge, and our strength.
  107. So we may weather the storm of her passing.
  108. You are present. We rely on your strength. We ask for your peace.
  109. Thank you."
  110.
  111. There's a moment of silence afterwards, the marking's glow fading as she bows her head. A moment of silence.
  112. (Yiel)
  113. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  114.
  115. [07:19] Kelly eyes the window, searching briefly for the relevant star - Phos. He stretches his cupped hands out toward it, imitating the motions that Yiel went through for her own Star. He repeats the prayer Yiel had set forth for his dead friend. As he finishes, he gives a brief salute towards the window - the same gesture he gave towards his friend as he watched her body be interred. A while after the prayer is finished, he looks towards Yiel, as though something was on his mind.
  116. (Kelly Kirk)
  117. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  118.
  119. [07:24] Demosthenes wordlessly walks off when the prayer starts.
  120. (Demosthenes Dayndros)
  121. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  122.
  123. [07:28] After that prayer and moment of silence, the Acolyte raises her head, motioning for Ra to sit - either on this bench of the opposite. After that pan of her rune-marked hand, she turns her full attention to Kelly, wordlessly inquiring as to the words he has on his mind.
  124.
  125. A tiny, gracious nod of her head indicates that she would like to hear such, her hands folded gently upon her lap. She seems to move them as she speaks, and rests them when she is listening - quite easy to understand, the Acolyte straight forwards and simple in mannerisms. Likewise, it took her little time to think of that prayer - either shaping the words on the spot or recalling it from memory.
  126. (Yiel)
  127. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  128.
  129. [07:29] Kelly Kirk says, "I don't even know which star I'd head off to if I died. I used to think I knew myself - but then I was proven wrong."
  130. [07:30] Kelly Kirk says, "I used to think of myself as 'rational', but I feel like emotion is creeping over me repeatedly."
  131. [07:38] That Acolyte hums to herself gently at his words. There's the softest, smallest of reassuring smiles given his way;
  132.
  133. "I understand, Kelly. The star your are closest to does change in time. It's not a constant for everyone - especially as life reveals its twists and turns. I do not have the talents just yet to reveal one's connection in life - though, if you'd like, I could make my best guess-"
  134.
  135. There's a gentle pause as she continues;
  136.
  137. "It's easier to know someone's connection as their journey ends, for those who still walk the path under Leonaus, they may find the light of the stars pouring upon them in different measures. Perhaps you can tell me more of yourself, both the harrowing trials you've faced, and that which you take your greatest joy in."
  138.
  139. For a young woman, this Acolyte's thoughts are surprisingly honed - though, Ra may note that she did come from a convent, so being religiously apt is no doubt a product of such.
  140. (Yiel)
  141. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  142.
  143. [07:38] Kelly Kirk says, "Actually..."
  144. [07:39] Kelly Kirk says, "I think I should go to bed for now. I'll talk to you more later. Thank you for talking with me..."
  145. [07:47] The blonde gives a gracious nod towards the departing Kelly, standing up gently from the pew!
  146. (Yiel)
