Renegade Jump part 1

Part 1

Well talk about an unpleasant surprise, It’s the middle of the night, there is no light but a full moon and My companions and I have just found out we are waiting for another jumper to ambush us.

There is not much around us to use as cover. Akitsu though is already building walls of Ice to give us some cover from whatever is coming. I order everyone out, I am kind of grateful now that both Snowflame and Sans give off their own light. There is no point in giving away our position, we have been lead here. They know where we are.

All that’s left now is the waiting I tell myself as I feel the anxiety rise.  I already am using magical abilities to see everything around me, so is Archer and anyone who has that capacity.

Figures start to appear off in the distance in front of us. I recognize some of them… Supergirl, Sailor Mercury, Spiderman, Alucard and kotomine kirei WTF?

At the center is a young woman, blond medium length hair bright blue eyes, very pretty, something tells me she is the jumper. I feel the magic before I hear it as her voice caries over the gap between us. My hairs standing on end.

“We just want to talk I am guessing she has told you this is an ambush but I promise you it’s not.”

Strangely I feel like she is being honest but this IS a jumper, anything is possible.

Pouring a little magic in to my own voice and letting the wind carry it “Well you have a funny way of showing it, this looks an awful lot like an ambush and Jumpchan is telling me it’s an ambush.”

“Look I am sorry; I would have preferred to do this differently but I don’t know you and I don’t know if you will be willing to listen. Can we please meet face to face? I am not going to try anything. I am not the one who is your enemy.”

“I am not sure that’s a good idea… fine come slowly though no sudden movements.” I tell her, not mentioning the precautions we laid down for a fight, they wouldn’t trigger unless something happened.

As we met she actually raised an eyebrow at me as she looked over my companions and me.

“Look you’re the one who abducted me, we are humanoid animals because that’s the world we were in… this isn’t how I usually go around.”

“Hey I’m not judging.”

“Yes your eyebrow just raised half way up your forehead for no reason.” That drew a few snickers from her companions.

Despite the seemingly calm atmosphere the tension was thick.

“So why do all of this, what is it you hope to accomplish.”

“We need to stop Jumpchan”

That stunned me “What?”

“Look I don’t know your experience with her but I can tell you she is just using you and she is going to toss you aside when she gets bored. What happens when you have to go back home to earth? You think you can just slip back in to your old life and everything will be ok?”

“No? I mean I intend to get my spark but even if I do wind up being sent home, it may be awkward for a bit… it certainly will but I am sure I can work things out.”

“Really? … tell me how many people have you killed? How many times have you done horrible things that you regretted that a normal person couldn’t even imagine? How do you think it will feel going back to your old life and having to pretend you’re still the same you the ones you love knew?”

“Well…”

“Saying you’re just going to work it out is saying you have no plan.”

“Now listen I don’t know what you did in your travels but while yeah I have had to take a few lives and yes I am a different person now I trust the people I love to eventually come to grips with that.”

“Really what happens if they don’t?”

I didn’t really have an answer for that… I opened my mouth to say something but it was drowned out by cries of alarm as a huge shadow passed between us and the moon. A familier one. The Dragon Demon Ke-Pa Flew overhead releasing a gout of flame at the other jumpers companions who quickly dodged out of the flames and started to fire back but I could already hear the cries of “It’s a trap” and get her. As I looked up I thought I saw a hideous grin on Ke-Pa’s face as he flew up and away through the night sky which was now exploding around him.
