Lex waves a little to Edgar. "Dearest. I have much I have to discuss with you. But later, there are pressing matters. I require a potion of memory sharing. Arvio was mauled by a strange creature in front of your shop as far as he can tell but the memory is fuzzy. I wish to use a potion to draw this out and see for myself what happened."
Lex returns with potion and sits down next to Arvio again.
"Here, take this. It will let us know what is happening."

Arvio is leaving Edgar's shop. With a bag in hand he walks toward the fireplace Ruman flying around just above him. He is in a cheerful mood, humming along as he carries the gold earned from the spoils of the lich to him home to divy out for the rest of the group. A short trip later and he has deposited the gold in his room. Ruman complains. He is hungry. His complaining can't bring Arvio's spirit down though.

Arvio promises to get him some meat from the Tavern, and so they go. Arvio, just barely from the corner of his eye thinks he sees a figure standing near the gateway to the dead city. In just a moment it is gone however. Ignoring the bird's squealing, he heads over to investigate. Near the entranceway he sees the figure again, further into the city. Throughly unnerved, Arvio draws his gun and follows.

Him and the figure keep at this for a time. The figure being just within his vision and Arvio pursing deeper into the city. Eventually, Arvio sees this *person* enter a building. The diligent gnoll follows it. He reaches toward the handle of the door and his memories of events promptly cut out.

Vauhan, for the moment things are quiet. The people of the Hearth are still waking up, preparing for their day. All is quiet, until very suddenly you are transported out of your tent and into blinding sunlight, suddenly fully armed and armoured. Your ears are assaulted by the roar of battle, your eyes by the glare of the midday sun. You are in the center of a hurricane of steel and blood. You're given only the briefest of moments to take in your surroundings and try to orient yourself. To your left, a man is cut down by a monster twice his size. To your right, a towering creature of steel lunges at you, a massive suit of plate, and you manage to barely catch it on your shields, narrowly keeping it from crushing you.
A pair of burning eyes stare at you from beneath its helm. The battle around you suddenly seems unimportant. All that matters is this creature.

The armor doesn't seem to have expected you to hit back, and you succeed in driving it back, if only for a step or two. You manage to land a single solid hit, slipping a shield under its guard and cracking it in the hip, before it's back on you. You have a moment to notice how agile it is before it leaps back onto you, crashing against your guard and driving you almost to the ground just from the sheer force of its impact.

Vauhan cries out as his legs nearly buckle, but he doesn't bow. Rather, he, at the sight of this beast of a being, gives into his battlelust. "I won't break! Not to an army! Not to a lich! Not even to *you!*" he snarls, punctuating each sentence with a slam, each more reckless, but more damaging than the last.

The herald is driven back one step, and then two beneath Vauhan's sudden onslaught. Your first strike surprises it, and it barely blocks your second, but it deflects the rest of your barrage with greater and greater ease. It catches your shield mid-punch, and for a moment the battle stops. The two of you lock eyes for a moment, and it gives you a single, slight nod of acknowledgement.
And then the herald steps forward and delivers a single, firm strike to your breastplate. The impact is enough to throw you off your feet, and for a moment your vision blurs. When you recover, you're on your back in your tent. You feel a power burning in your chest, something new but not at all unpleasant.

Vauhan rises with a shout, looking around for the being who fought so well. Upon not seeing anything inside the tent, Vauhan, still blinded by rage, charges through the side of his tent, crashing through some of his furniture, and ripping/tearing through the tent.
