  11. Vauhan! You are sucked out of your body and your soul is deposited onto another plane. You are surrounded by a featureless grey landscape, dotted with small, brightly colored bubbles.
  12.
  13. Nachtimus#1770 [01-Apr-17 10:16 PM]
  14. "Err... Where am I? Lex? Little spriteling? Anyone!"
  15.
  16. Rainglove#0072 [01-Apr-17 10:16 PM]
  17. You receive no response
  18.
  19. Nachtimus#1770 [01-Apr-17 10:17 PM]
  20. Vauhan wanders the grey landscape, scared and alone.
  21. He peers into a bubble, presuming something interesting is in there.
  22.
  23. Rainglove#0072 [01-Apr-17 10:27 PM]
  24. Vauhan, you are suddenly stricken with the memory of drawing that one card that makes an outsider really upset with you. As you wander along, a storm of color materializes from one of the colored spheres on the ground. It looks like a storm cloud, but with a number of bright colors mixed in, swirling against each other.
  25.
  26. Nachtimus#1770 [01-Apr-17 10:28 PM]
  27. Vauhan is again, unsure of what to make of all this. "Where am I?"
  28.

  40. Some plane somewhere. Where you are is unclear. The mass of swirling colors shifts, taking on the form of a man, and then it takes a fighting stance, prepared for battle. It speaks into your mind. *Fight for your soul.*

  211. The creature swings into you one last time, blasting you into the afterlife.

  213.
  214. Nachtimus#1770 [01-Apr-17 10:54 PM]

  216.
  217. Rainglove#0072 [01-Apr-17 10:55 PM]
  218. Still, you can't help but feel that something is missing. Your find glory in eternal battle, but still your soul is restless. Something is absent from your victories.

  228. Rainglove#0072 [01-Apr-17 11:01 PM]

  251.
  252. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 01:31 AM]
  253. H-haha
  254. Yesab waits for Tourm to say something first, as he is a gud boy.
  255.
  256. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 01:31 AM]
  257. "So, how are your wounds healing up Vauhan?"
  258.
  259. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 01:33 AM]
  260. He lifts his shirt to reveal his skin to be unwounded, despite the rather intense scarring, from wounds old and new. "Just fine."
  261.
  262. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 01:34 AM]
  263. "You've been magic'd back together by the healer then?"
  264.
  265. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 01:35 AM]
  266. He nods. "By Elara, yes. As I usually am."
  267.
  268. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 01:38 AM]
  269. "You are hurt often then?"
  270.
  271. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 01:39 AM]
  272. "It is my job. To take hits for those who could not keep standing afterwards. I do not call myself Vauhan the Protector for no reason."
  273.
  274. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 01:40 AM]
  275. "Quite. Now, how exactly would you say you fare against magical assaults?"
  276. "Forgive me for assuming, but you don't seem like the type to be adept at it."
  277.
  278. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 01:42 AM]
  279. "As I understand, there are different types of magic. Which kind do you mean?"
  280.
  281. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 01:43 AM]
  282. He taps his finger to his temple.
  283.
  284. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 01:45 AM]
  285. Yesab watches.
  286.
  287. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 01:45 AM]
  288. "Ah, that kind," he speaks, with a general sense of revulsion. "Yes, I must admit, my mind is not trained for much besides battle. But I have not had to worry about such magics since my duelings with the mage tribes."
  289.
  290. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 01:46 AM]
  291. "Excellent, I thought as much. Luckly for you, I have a soultion for that. I figure you need it now more than ever since you all cannot be dissaded from hunting our lich friend."
  292. "Your people do not have any sort of taboos about inking your skin do they?"
  293.
  294. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 01:48 AM]
  295. "Skin-inking? No, but it is frowned upon to ink over one's scars."
  296. "I suppose you are a skin-inker, then."
  297.
  298. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 01:50 AM]
  299. "I really prefer the term Tattoo, but yes, that's how I make my living. Anyway, I can give you a tattoo that will not only assist in your resistance of spells, but will also alert you of when they are cast."
  300.
  301. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 01:51 AM]
  302. "I thought you made your living selling jewelry!"
  303.

  305. "I have many businesses [Tree stump]"

  311. "Yes, mine are magical at least."
  312.
  313. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 01:54 AM]
  314. "Mm. What guarantee do you have that they will work?"
  315.
  316. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 01:54 AM]
  317. "Aside from my honor as a professional?"
  318.
  319. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 01:55 AM]
  320. "Mhm."
  321.
  322. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 01:55 AM]
  323. "I suppose I can show you."
  324. Tourmaline opens up the bottom buttons of his shirt to reveal his hip tattoo, "Hey [Tree stump] could you cast some sorta enchantment for me real quick"
  325.
  326. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 01:59 AM]
  327. Vauhan looks to Yesab, considering he's the only other caster in this conversation.
  328.
  329. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 02:05 AM]
  330. "Who- me?"
  331.

  339. "Anything of that sort will do"
  340.
  341. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 02:06 AM]
  342. "No curses, got it."
  343.
  344. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 02:06 AM]
  345. "Wait what?"
  346.

  382. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 02:10 AM]
  383. "Just hold your attention! Like I said, no curses."
  384.
  385. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 02:11 AM]
  386. "Yes, you've mentioned that twice now"
  387. "I have some you might be interested in as well actually"
  388.
  389. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 02:12 AM]
  390. "Oh?"
  391.
  392. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 02:14 AM]
  393. "In the same way Vauhan isn't really trained in magical defense, I'm guessing you cannot cast spells if you're restrained, by say, I don't know, a big dead dragon."
  394. "Or perhaps you'd like to have more spells to cast, mages always bitch about that."
  395.
  396. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 02:15 AM]
  397. "What's your price?"
  398.
  399. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 02:15 AM]
  400. "1000 gold, but for you, 500"
  401.
  402. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 02:17 AM]
  403. "Mm. I will think about it. You'll know before we go back to the Tomb."
  404.
  405. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 02:17 AM]
  406. "I strongly recommend that you do"
  407.
  408. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 02:19 AM]
  409. "I'll consider it as well. I've got to save up for a couple other things currently, though!"
  410.
  411. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 02:20 AM]
  412. "Speaking of saving up for things, you should stop by Edgar's more often, I've really gotten good at crafting magical gear."
  413.
  414. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 02:22 AM]
  415. "Do you have anything that might help my current dilemma?" He lifts Wird out of his bag. "I need a way to give this little guy easy access to holding things."
  416.
  417. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 02:22 AM]
  418. "I intend to before the next adventure. I'd like very much not to fall in battle again."
  419.
  420. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 02:24 AM]
  421. "Hmmmm, I had a guy ask for something like this for his pet cat once. I can do it, but he'll still be just as smart as any old toad."
  422. "Poor man"
  423.
  424. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 02:25 AM]
  425. "Wird's smarter than any old toad! He's my familiar!"
  426.
  427. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 02:26 AM]
  428. Tourm nods his head and smiles like a man who has no idea what significance that has.
  429. "The question is, do you want him to be able to manipulate objects or do *everything* we can do?"
  430.
  431. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 02:27 AM]
  432. "I just need him to hold objects. He can already talk, so I just need a way that he can use a wand."
  433.
  434. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 02:28 AM]
  435. "OH! Hello then" Tourm extends his finger for a handshake.
  436.
  437. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 02:29 AM]
  438. The toad stares at Tourm, before shaking the finger.
  439.
  440. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 02:31 AM]
  441. "I can make him a thingy that can turn him human... or actually, whatever he wants to be. That'll give him a lot more mobility and is quite cheap."
  442.
  443. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 02:32 AM]
  444. "Oh! Well, human might be a little too big, but, what else can he turn into?"
  445.
  446. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 02:33 AM]
  447. "Anything humaniod? I'm not familar with how the magic actually works, but he could probably be just like you."
  448.
  449. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 02:34 AM]
  450. "Is there a way we can keep it a bit smaller? I don't want him to be a target."
  451.
  452. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 02:34 AM]
  453. "Hmmmmmmmm"
  454. "I cannot think of any."
  455.
  456. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 02:41 AM]
  457. "Oh." Yesab looks disheartened.
  458.
  459. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 02:45 AM]
  460. "Hey, cheer up. There's plenty of other options."
  461. "Like, doing that thing that makes your animals kind of people but also still animals."
  462.
  463. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 02:47 AM]
  464. He looks confused at the Tourm.
  465.
  466. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 02:47 AM]
  467. Vauhan, too, is confused. The difference is that Vauhan has been confused for some time since Tourmaline started speaking to Yesab in particular.
  468.
  469. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 02:48 AM]
  470. He also looks to Vauhan (because Nacht might be getting sleepy). "By the way, I wanted to ask you something!"
  471.
  472. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 02:48 AM]
  473. "What is it, little spriteling?"
  474.
  475. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 02:49 AM]
  476. "Have you been talking to the people lately?"
  477.
  478. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 02:51 AM]
  479. "Every now and then, I like to ask if anyone needs help with anything I might be able to help with. Why?"
  480.
  481. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 02:52 AM]
  482. "Well, it's been a week since I last used the lyre, and I was trying to think of what to build next."
  483.
  484. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 02:54 AM]
  485. "Oh, well, I can ask around, if you'd like. I know the soldiers tire of sleeping in tents. A barracks might be what they want."
  486.
  487. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 02:55 AM]
  488. "Wouldn't it be better just to build them homes?"
  489.
  490. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 02:56 AM]
  491. He shrugs. "I should ask them before I speak for them."
  492.
  493. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 02:56 AM]
  494. Yesab pulls out the fancy glinting lyre in front of Tourm.
  495. "I figured it might be a good idea to expand the area for the farm a little, too.. and I know we're still short on homes in general, but there still aren't many places for people to gather and do things!"
  496.
  497. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 02:58 AM]
  498. "Indeed, there's not a lot of space for recreation."
  499.
  500. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 02:59 AM]
  501. "That is a beautiful lyre."
  502.
  503. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 03:00 AM]
  504. "Thank you! It belonged to a good friend who made it for us and bestowed it to me before she left. It builds things when you play it!"
  505.
  506. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 03:00 AM]
  507. "Does it really?"
  508.
  509. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 03:01 AM]
  510. "I remember Edgar got particularly upset when his crates disappeared because of the thing."
  511.
  512. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 03:02 AM]
  513. "There's a story I'd like yo hear"
  514.
  515. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 03:04 AM]
  516. "Before we were able to bring lumber down here, she used all the wood from every wooden object lying around to start building."
  517.
  518. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 03:05 AM]
  519. "Ah, Edgar gets so cute when he's angry, I bet he got all flustered"
  520.
  521. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 03:05 AM]
  522. "It broke a few of his more fragile things."
  523.
  524. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 03:06 AM]
  525. "Potions and such. He was not very happy."
  526.
  527. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 03:07 AM]
  528. "I bet he gave her a Stern talking to. And his brow probably did that thing it does when he concentrates on something."
  529.
  530. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 03:08 AM]
  531. "His brow?" He shakes his head. "Regardless, we're a little more careful with this thing, especially since no one really knows how to play this since she left."
  532.
  533. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 03:09 AM]
  534. "Oh, I can play it just fine. Provided that I may use it for my own place first of course."
  535. "And yeah his brow. If you watch him working you can see it scrunch up. Gods...."
  536.
  537. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 03:11 AM]
  538. Yesab isn't so sure about this 'of course', and opts to tuck it back into his backpack.
  539.
  540. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 03:13 AM]
  541. "Speaking of performing, Vauhan, you should also attend the tea ceremony that I'm throwing. Everyone is invited. Food and live entertainment!'
  542.
  543. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 03:14 AM]
  544. "When is it?"
  545.
  546. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 03:15 AM]
  547. "A day or so."
  548.
  549. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 03:16 AM]
  550. "Mm. We'll see."
  551. "What place do you talk about? Your own home?"
  552.
  553. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 03:18 AM]
  554. "Yes, currently I'm living in Edgar's closet. And as much as I enjoy being able to look at him all day, o think it's time for me to exit the closet."
  555.
  556. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 03:19 AM]
  557. bad joke/10
  558. "Well.. I guess I can understand that. But I want to make sure I have everything else outlined, first!"
  559.
  560. Nachtimus#1770 [04-Apr-17 03:20 AM]
  561. It goes completely over his head. "I see."
  562.
  563. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 03:21 AM]
  564. "Just tell me what I have to do."
  565.
  566. Goatwright#9050 [04-Apr-17 03:21 AM]
  567. Yesab nods. "Give me another day and we can meet up and discuss how to set everything up."
  568.
  569. Cactus#6981 [04-Apr-17 03:22 AM]
  570. "Excellent"

  577.
  578. Cactus#6981 [21-Apr-17 09:35 PM]
  579. Tourmaline stuggles through the tomb, headed toward where his good friend usually haunts.
  580. Metaphorically of course
  581. "[I have something for you! This is really important too!]"
  582.
  583. Rainglove#0072 [21-Apr-17 09:37 PM]
  584. is it because he's undead?
  585. that's racist
  586. And he is where he usually is, peering out from the shadows at you.
  587.
  588. Cactus#6981 [21-Apr-17 09:39 PM]
  589. "[I know you don't like being active or coming out of your little hole, but this is a real breakthrough. I have an elixir here that can restore you apperance prior to your death. I also brought my art supplies so I can get a good snapshot of what you look like to go and compare to the dragon's records. We're just a stone's throw away from finding out who you are!]"
  590.
  591. Rainglove#0072 [21-Apr-17 09:48 PM]
  592. He shuffles out from under the house, looking as though you asking him to leave has brought the weight of the entire world down on him, and comes up to you. He huffs.
  593.
  594. Cactus#6981 [21-Apr-17 09:49 PM]
  595. Tourmaline holds out the bottle to him, "[Just dump it over you. I don't know how well your sense of scent is but I am sorry for how rank this smells]"
  596. Tourmaline has already begun setting up his little stand and mixing his paints.
  597.
  598. Rainglove#0072 [21-Apr-17 09:56 PM]
  599. He takes it and dumps the vial over himself.
  600. For a moment, nothing happens, and he gives you a look. Then he shimmers, and his body shifts. White scales fill in, starting at his head and rippling down to his feet. He looks at himself, watching the process with fascination.
  601.
  602. Cactus#6981 [21-Apr-17 10:00 PM]
  603. "[Oh wow]"
  604. "[I'm sorry, I'm gawking. Time to get to work.]"
  605.
  606. Tourmaline begins to paint the dragon, with as much attention to detail as he can.
  607. Taking ten for a result of 20
  608. "[I think this will last for a whole week. If you'd like, I can make another for you.]"
  609.
  610. Rainglove#0072 [21-Apr-17 10:07 PM]
  611. You do a pretty good job of painting out the dragon.
  612. Pretty good.
  613. It takes a break from looking at itself to nod at you.
  614.
  615. Cactus#6981 [21-Apr-17 10:09 PM]
  616. "[I'll be back once I have my findings. See you around]"
  617. Tourmaline will pick up his painting as carefully as possible and rush back into the cave. He has a Laurent to see.
  618.
  619. Cactus#6981 [22-Apr-17 08:07 PM]
  620. Tourmaline carries his dragon painting to his dear friend Laurent.
  621. 's shrine
  622.
  623. Rainglove#0072 [22-Apr-17 08:11 PM]
  624. 's shrine is where it has been. Laurent's inside, doing dragon things.
  625.
  626. Cactus#6981 [22-Apr-17 08:11 PM]
  627. Tourmaline will gently knock on the door, assuming there is one, to get his attention.
  628.
  629. Rainglove#0072 [22-Apr-17 08:15 PM]
  630. There is no door. He looks up as you arrive. "Yes?"
  631.
  632. Cactus#6981 [22-Apr-17 08:15 PM]
  633. "I've really outdone myself this time Laurent. Here, look at this painting."
  634. "This is one of the undead dragons in the crypt. I restored his flesh."
  635.
  636. Rainglove#0072 [22-Apr-17 08:19 PM]
  637. Laurent looks. "He was a white?"
  638.
  639. Cactus#6981 [22-Apr-17 08:21 PM]
  640. "Apparently! I was hoping that I could get some acess to your people's records to try to put a name to him. I promised him that I'd figure out who he was."
  641. "Is him being white odd?"
  642.
  643. Rainglove#0072 [22-Apr-17 08:22 PM]
  644. "Well they're all dead now, so a little." He takes the painting from you and examines it.
  645.
  646. Cactus#6981 [22-Apr-17 08:23 PM]
  647. "What happened to them?"
  648.
  649. Rainglove#0072 [22-Apr-17 08:26 PM]
  650. "Died out. Color's passed down through the mother, and they ran out at some point. After that it was just a matter of time."
  651.
  652. Cactus#6981 [22-Apr-17 08:27 PM]
  653. "Sorry to hear that. Say, I hope I'm not making a faux pas here but, what does color mean to your kind?"
  654.
  655. Rainglove#0072 [22-Apr-17 08:29 PM]
  656. "That is somewhat difficult to explain."
  657.
  658. Cactus#6981 [22-Apr-17 08:31 PM]
  659. "I don't mean to pry, I was just curious if it was anything like the way my kind is divided up into groups."
  660.
  661. Rainglove#0072 [22-Apr-17 08:36 PM]
  662. "It's similar to the division between your races on the surface, although our coloring can be a little more nuanced."
  663.
  664. Cactus#6981 [22-Apr-17 08:37 PM]
  665. "Well, there will be plenty of time to learn about that later. Do you think I might me able to look at your records?"
  666.
  667. Rainglove#0072 [22-Apr-17 08:40 PM]
  668. "You've been to the library already, haven't you? Everything you might want should be in there."
  669.
  670. Cactus#6981 [22-Apr-17 08:40 PM]
  671. "I have not been to your library actually."
  672. "I think that was Maegan who went there"
  673.
  674. Rainglove#0072 [22-Apr-17 08:41 PM]
  675. "Oh. I thought everyone had been there by now. Well, someone can show you the way, I'm sure you'll all be building a road sooner or later."
  676.
  677. Cactus#6981 [22-Apr-17 08:42 PM]
  678. "Wonderful! I'll see you around Laurent!"

  687. Tourmaline aquires a brick from some poor place in the Aerie, and takes a seat at the back of the library tower.
  688. After a quick breather, Tourmaline begins his casting of **Ears of the City**
  689. He concentrates as he expands his pretty, pretty mind outward.

  742. "Who in the dragon's settlement could know how to restore lost memories or at the very least knowledgable about his condition"
  743.
  744. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 09:59 PM]
  745. gimme one sec to find something
  746.
  747. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 09:59 PM]
  748. "Take your time strange disembodied voice"
  749.
  750. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:01 PM]
  751. Caelia, a golden dragon.
  752.
  753. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:02 PM]
  754. "Where is Caelia now and is she as much of a jackass as the library dragon"
  755.
  756. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:03 PM]
  757. You're gonna need another cast fam
  758.
  759. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:04 PM]
  760. "Ugh, magic is so unreliable"
  761. Tourmaline stands up and brushes off his pants.
  762. "Well, I suppose it means I don't have to talk to that guy again, so why not"
  763. He casts it once more
  764.
  765. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:05 PM]
  766. You're directed to one of the small caverns in the outer wall near the top of the city. And no.
  767.
  768. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:05 PM]
  769. "Excellent!"
  770. "Speaking of which, what is that man's problem?"
  771.
  772. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:08 PM]
  773. He's just a dick, dude.
  774. Demonblood, probably.
  775.
  776. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:08 PM]
  777. "I thought as.... what?"
  778.
  779. Mathias#1381 [05-May-17 10:09 PM]
  780. What is Tourm's problem, voice?
  781.
  782. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:09 PM]
  783. Tourmaline has had enough of this spell and stands up.
  784. He then brushes himself off again and makes his way to the dragon he was directed toward.
  785.
  786. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:10 PM]
  787. You got a way to get up that wall?
  788.
  789. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:10 PM]
  790. A potion of alter self
  791. A catfolk in this case.
  792.
  793. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:12 PM]
  794. how does being a cat help you climb a wall?
  795.
  796. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:13 PM]
  797. Catfolks have climb speeds
  798.
  799. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:15 PM]
  800. you turn into a catfolk with an optional trait I'd never heard about
  801.
  802. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:17 PM]
  803. And he climbs that wall like he was doing it since birth
  804.
  805. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:20 PM]
  806. And up the wall you go.
  807.
  808. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:21 PM]
  809. What does the mouth of the cavern look like
  810.
  811. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:23 PM]
  812. After a veeeery long time climbing, you arrive. It looks like a little home. The cavern's around 30 feet long, there's a mat in the back presumably for sleeping, there's a few shelves full of books and some herbs, more herbs hanging off the roof, vials of potions
  813. Looks like a place where someone lives and also does a whole lot of magic.
  814. And your target is seated at a desk, reading something as you appear.
  815.
  816. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:25 PM]
  817. Tourmaline smoothes out his clothes, because surely a trip up the wall would have ruffled them a tad. Afterwhich, he strolls into the entrance of the cave. "Excuse me, are you Caelia?"
  818.
  819. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:26 PM]
  820. She pauses for a moment, then looks up. "Who are you?"
  821.
  822. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:27 PM]
  823. Tourmaline gives her a deep bow, "My name is Tourmaline Chalkheart, and I have come seeking your assistance."
  824.
  825. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:28 PM]
  826. "With what?"
  827.
  828. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:31 PM]
  829. "A particular dragon that fell in the undead human city, Cynric. He's... undead, but sentient. However, he cannot remember who he was and I've promised to help him regain his memory. I heard that you are the most knowledgeable about this particular field."
  830.
  831. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:34 PM]
  832. She just kinda looks at you for a second. "I'm not sure I can help you."
  833.
  834. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:34 PM]
  835. "Is this not your field?"
  836. "Or is there just no helping him"
  837.
  838. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:36 PM]
  839. "I deal with the bodies and minds of the living. Undead are an entirely different matter, one I have very little experience with."
  840. "It may not be impossible to help him, but it will be very difficult, and I will not be going into their lair to try to help any of them myself."
  841.
  842. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:38 PM]
  843. "Is there anyway I can be a proxy for you? Can you tell me what I need to do for him?"
  844.
  845. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:42 PM]
  846. "I might." She shuts her book, looking rather regretful, and then heaves herself to her feet. She walks over to her shelves and begins browsing, muttering to herself.
  847. Now that you have a moment's break from talking to her, gimme a k arcana roll
  848.
  849. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:43 PM]
  850. 1d20+3
  851.
  852. Mechamicus 2.0#3055 [05-May-17 10:43 PM]
  853. @Cactus#6981: [6] -> **9**
  854.
  855. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:43 PM]
  856. Tourm is not a professional by any means
  857.
  858. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:43 PM]
  859. She has a sort of presence that you notice, that the other dragons you've interacted with definitely didn't have, but you don't know what it might be.
  860.
  861. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:44 PM]
  862. Is her back turned?
  863.
  864. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:44 PM]
  865. yup
  866.
  867. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:44 PM]
  868. He detects magic on her
  869.
  870. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:44 PM]
  871. She's magic as fuck, as are all the other dragons
  872.
  873. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:45 PM]
  874. What school?
  875.
  876. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:45 PM]
  877. Whatever kind of magic your standard sorcerer detects as, there's no specific school there.
  878.
  879. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:46 PM]
  880. He walks into the cave more, so that he doesn't have the drop directly behind him. Maybe close enough to sneak a glance at what she was reading before he got there.
  881.
  882. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:47 PM]
  883. roll stealth if you wanna get that far in
  884.
  885. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:48 PM]
  886. Oh nothing like that, he's just going to enter the cave proper.
  887. He's not sneaking
  888.
  889. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:49 PM]
  890. Then you ain't gettin no book readin
  891.
  892. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:49 PM]
  893. That's fine
  894.
  895. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:50 PM]
  896. After a moment she turns back around, stuffing various herbs and vials into a small pouch, and then grabs a paper from her desk and begins scribbling on it.
  897. And, finally, turns back towards you and approaches. Gimme a will save and sense motive.
  898.
  899. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:52 PM]
  900. I can do that
  901. 1d20+4 will, he's also not humanoid if this targets only them
  902.
  903. Mechamicus 2.0#3055 [05-May-17 10:53 PM]
  904. @Cactus#6981: "will, he's also not humanoid if this targets only them": [5] -> **9**
  905.
  906. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 10:53 PM]
  907. rip
  908. also sense motive

  910.
  911. Mechamicus 2.0#3055 [05-May-17 10:53 PM]
  912. @Cactus#6981: [17] -> **17**
  913.
  914. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 10:59 PM]
  915. You can feel your brain glaze over as she approaches you, like a thick fog's settled over your mind. Your hands auto-pilot themselves to accept the note and bag as she hands them to you. You're overcome with the feeling that you should be doing *something*, and you're distracted by a sudden, impulsive need to make sure you're presentable. That your shirt's tucked in, that you didn't get cat hair on any of your clothing when you transformed, that your hair's neat. You manage, barely, to maintain some presence of mind, and avoid actually physically correcting your appearance. She makes sure you've got everything, then backs away. Your mind clears as she puts a little distance between you. "Sorry about that. Everything you need to do's written on there. Anything else?"
  916.
  917. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 11:00 PM]
  918. "Uh.. no that was about it."
  919. "Oh right, actually. I might need some help finding my way out of here."
  920.
  921. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 11:03 PM]
  922. She tosses another vial your way. "That'll let you breathe underwater."
  923.
  924. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 11:03 PM]
  925. "Thank you."
  926. Tourmaline makes his exit shortly thereafter.
  927.
  928. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 11:04 PM]
  929. You return to ground level, somehow managing all of this within the six minute time limit of alter self
  930.
  931. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 11:04 PM]
  932. What does the note say
  933.
  934. Nachtimus#1770 [05-May-17 11:05 PM]
  935. "fuck off"
  936.
  937. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 11:05 PM]
  938. "Call me xoxo" and then a nine-digit number
  939. It describes the process of mixing the various herbs and liquids in the bag, and the appropriate ratios and order in which to mix them. Mixing this it seems will take approximately three days, as the mixture must be allowed to sit, and the last bunch of mixing has to be done over the course of 30 minutes immediately before it's ingested by your friend.
  940.
  941. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 11:07 PM]
  942. What sort of stuff is in the bag?
  943. Or I should say, anything easily recognizable?
  944.
  945. Rainglove#0072 [05-May-17 11:07 PM]
  946. Herbs and vials. You have no idea what any of it might actually be, but thankfully it's all labelled for you.
  947.
  948. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 11:07 PM]
  949. What a dear
  950. Tourm heads to Edgar's
  951.
  952. Hippocratesi#9485 [05-May-17 11:20 PM]
  953. Since Tourm is stuck in time and space, Maegan goes to find him
  954.
  955. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 11:21 PM]
  956. He exists! And he is walking toward the fireplace.
  957.
  958. Hippocratesi#9485 [05-May-17 11:21 PM]
  959. "Tourm! May I speak with you?"
  960.
  961. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 11:23 PM]
  962. Tourm looks down at his bag and then looks back at Maegan, "I suppose, what do you need?"
  963.
  964. Hippocratesi#9485 [05-May-17 11:25 PM]
  965. Maegan makes sure no one's around peepin' their conversation and then turns back to Tourm. "Before I say *anything*, I need you to promise me you will keep this to yourself and tell *no one* else. Not Wyatt, Not Edgar, not the Inquisition. If this information gets out to the wrong people, it will be on you. Do you understand?"
  966.
  967. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 11:27 PM]
  968. "Desna's nips did Loyd murder some?"
  969.
  970. Hippocratesi#9485 [05-May-17 11:28 PM]
  971. Maegan groans. "No. Just promise me you'll keep what I tell you to yourself."
  972.
  973. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 11:30 PM]
  974. "Before I agree to anything, is this about the crypt in any way shape or form?"
  975.
  976. Hippocratesi#9485 [05-May-17 11:30 PM]
  977. "No, it isn't."
  978.
  979. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 11:30 PM]
  980. "Is it about the goblins in any way shape or form?"
  981.
  982. Hippocratesi#9485 [05-May-17 11:31 PM]
  983. "No."
  984. "It's about the bloody dragons, Tourm."
  985.
  986. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 11:32 PM]
  987. "Oh! Speaking of which, I just had a visit with one. You should of just said so, what about them."
  988.
  989. Hippocratesi#9485 [05-May-17 11:33 PM]
  990. "I take it you know the white dragons are considered extinct?"
  991.
  992. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 11:33 PM]
  993. "Yeah, the dragon we talked to in the crypt is a dead white. Did you know his name is Cynric?"
  994.
  995. Hippocratesi#9485 [05-May-17 11:35 PM]
  996. "A fine name. Anyway..." Maegan recalls everything Yesab told them to Tourm, I ain't typin it all out you read the journal.
  997.
  998. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 11:36 PM]
  999. "So... there is a baby dragon girl across this portal then?"
  1000.
  1001. Hippocratesi#9485 [05-May-17 11:37 PM]
  1002. "There is."
  1003.
  1004. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 11:39 PM]
1005. "This is amazing news, but what does this have to do with our group?"
1006. "Wait - you aren't all seriously considering"
  1007.
  1008. Hippocratesi#9485 [05-May-17 11:39 PM]
1009. "We're going to go in and retrieve her, yes."
  1010.
  1011. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 11:40 PM]
1012. "If I had not not just visited the dragons, I'd be telling you to go ask them to do it. But, they clearly don't care about the white dragons. I'll help."
  1013.
  1014. Hippocratesi#9485 [05-May-17 11:42 PM]
1015. "The dragons intend to close the portal as soon as possible. Laurent's buying us time but I doubt he can hold them for long."
1016. "And I thought you'd say that. Thank you, Tourm."
  1017.
  1018. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 11:43 PM]
1019. "No thanks needed Maegan. A people can't be abandoned like they did to the white dragons."
1020. "Also Maegan, you were enchanted with something right? When we when into the temple?"
  1021.
  1022. Hippocratesi#9485 [05-May-17 11:46 PM]
  1023. "I was. Why?"
  1024.
  1025. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 11:47 PM]
1026. "Where did you go to see what was done to you?"
1027. "That dragon... did something to me"
  1028.
  1029. Hippocratesi#9485 [05-May-17 11:48 PM]
1030. "Lex took me to the Inquisition. They took care of it fairly easily, to my surprise."
1031. "And what do you mean by 'did something'? And who?"
  1032.
  1033. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 11:50 PM]
1034. Tourmaline holds up his bag, "I visited a dragon that specialized in mental magic to find a way to give Cynric his memories back. She gave me these. There was a moment though, right when she handed me the bag that just felt *odd*. She had this strange aura about her, but I couldn't quite place what it was too. I figure I should at least see what she did."
  1035.
  1036. Hippocratesi#9485 [05-May-17 11:51 PM]
1037. "Was it a fearful aura?"
  1038.
  1039. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 11:55 PM]
1040. "I wasn't quite afraid I don't think. I felt like - I should be doing *something*. And then I felt like I needed to make myself pretty and groomed and the like. That's not quite abnormal, but it certainly felt unnatrual at the time."
  1041. "I was all foggy"
  1042.
  1043. Hippocratesi#9485 [05-May-17 11:57 PM]
  1044. "That's...odd. Not someting I've seen before."
1045. "We should have Loyd visit her."
  1046.
  1047. Cactus#6981 [05-May-17 11:58 PM]
  1048. "I don't think I'd wish that on her."
  1049.
  1050. Mathias#1381 [06-May-17 12:01 AM]
  1051. Rude.
  1052.
  1053. Cactus#6981 [12-May-17 07:05 PM]
1054. 1d20 cost is 950 so only one roll
  1055.
  1056. Mechamicus 2.0#3055 [12-May-17 07:05 PM]
  1057. @Cactus#6981: "cost is 950 so only one roll": [17] -> **17**
  1058.
  1059. Rainglove#0072 [12-May-17 07:17 PM]
  1060. @Cactus#6981 "Sure. What's up?"
  1061.
  1062. Cactus#6981 [12-May-17 07:18 PM]
1063. Tourmaline holds up his bag, "I was given these. I want to know what they would do to undead."
1064. "There's instuctions on how to mix them inside."
  1065.
  1066. Rainglove#0072 [12-May-17 07:18 PM]
1067. He takes the bag and opens it. He gets a brief look of confusion on his face and you hear a very quietly muttered "The fuck?"
  1068.
  1069. Cactus#6981 [12-May-17 07:19 PM]
  1070. "What was that Sir?"
  1071.
  1072. Rainglove#0072 [12-May-17 07:19 PM]
1073. "I said 'The fuck?'" He roots around in the bag for a minute, examining a few vials. "This is... Not my area of expertise. I've never heard of most of these."
  1074.
  1075. Cactus#6981 [12-May-17 07:20 PM]
1076. "Would you know if any of these would affect undead adversely?"
  1077.
  1078. Rainglove#0072 [12-May-17 07:22 PM]
1079. "Undead usually aren't affected by herbs, at least to my knowledge." He's very distracted by the bag, but after a minute closes it and hands it back to you. "I have no idea."
1080. He says this very confidently
  1081.
  1082. Cactus#6981 [12-May-17 07:24 PM]
1083. "Well, the dragon that gave me these said they would work for Cynric. She seems like a very strong expert in her field, so I am inclined to believe it will do something."
  1084.
  1085. Rainglove#0072 [12-May-17 07:24 PM]
  1086. "Do let me know."
  1087.
  1088. Cactus#6981 [12-May-17 07:26 PM]
1089. "Can I leave these here with you? I'm going to go off for a bit. If I don't return I would like them administered to the dragon in my stead. I made a promise to him. His name is Cynric and he's the only dragon in the crypt that has non-rotting flesh. He's white."
  1090.
  1091. Rainglove#0072 [12-May-17 07:26 PM]
  1092. "Certainly."

  1094. Cactus#6981 [12-May-17 07:27 PM]
1095. "Thank you. He doesn't speak anything but draconic and it's hard for him to make sounds. Just say the man who gave you the eilxir sent you."
  1096.
  1097. Rainglove#0072 [12-May-17 07:28 PM]
1098. Throughout this sentence bordin is just nodding politely and slowly withdrawing back into his room
1099. He shuts the door as soon as he's confident you're done talking
  1100.
  1101. Cactus#6981 [12-May-17 07:28 PM]
1102. Tourmaline is satisfied and goes to prepare for his excursion.

  1116. Cactus#6981 [19-May-17 08:02 PM]
  1117. Knock knock.
1118. "Excuse me? I'm looking for Elara"
  1119.
  1120. Rainglove#0072 [19-May-17 08:03 PM]
1121. Elara looks up from whatever she was doing. "That'd be me. How can I help you?"
  1122.
  1123. Cactus#6981 [19-May-17 08:05 PM]
1124. "I was informed by Wyatt that you were the healer of this settlement."
1125. "I am Arvio, Wyatt suggested that you might benefit from some additional assistance in your work."
  1126.
  1127. Rainglove#0072 [19-May-17 08:08 PM]
1128. "I certainly could use some assistance. What do you do, exactly?"
  1129.
  1130. Cactus#6981 [19-May-17 08:09 PM]
1131. "I have training is treating and caring for wounds. I also have experience in midwiving and tending to the sick."
  1132.
  1133. Rainglove#0072 [19-May-17 08:10 PM]
1134. "We don't have many pregnancies here, but definitely plenty of injuries, that'll be useful."
  1135.
  1136. Cactus#6981 [19-May-17 08:11 PM]
1137. "Quite, I look forward to working under you."
  1138.
  1139. Rainglove#0072 [19-May-17 08:12 PM]
1140. "At the moment I have things handled, more or less. We had a little bit of an incident a few days ago but things have been fairly quiet since then." She turns around and returns to stocking shelves. "Anyway, what brings you here?"
  1141.
  1142. Cactus#6981 [19-May-17 08:13 PM]
1143. "A pligrimage, as it tradition for my temple."
1144. "Though I must admit, one usually does not go this far from home."
  1145.
  1146. Rainglove#0072 [19-May-17 08:14 PM]
1147. "Where is home for you?"
  1148.
  1149. Cactus#6981 [19-May-17 08:15 PM]
1150. "Across the sea, to the east. I suspect you have not heard of it. It was only recently we had found you."
1151. "But if you were after a name, Lamshkr."
  1152.
  1153. Rainglove#0072 [19-May-17 08:16 PM]
1154. "I've heard tales, but never anything specific. What's it like over there?"
  1155.
  1156. Cactus#6981 [19-May-17 08:16 PM]
1157. "Not quite as hellishly frosty as it is here, nor wet."
  1158.
  1159. Rainglove#0072 [19-May-17 08:19 PM]
1160. "It doesn't get too frosty here, unless you head below. Plenty chilly, but not frosty."
  1161.
  1162. Cactus#6981 [19-May-17 08:20 PM]
1163. "I've simply been spoiled by the constant sunlight of my home then."
1164. "It has been a pleasure meeting you, but I must go tend to my belongings and make sure my bird has not eatten the tavern out of hearth and home."
  1165.
  1166. Rainglove#0072 [19-May-17 08:26 PM]
1167. She nods and lets you go
1168. super assertive, ms elara is
  1169.
  1170. Nachtimus#1770 [21-May-17 12:29 AM]
1171. Vauhan knocks urgently upon Wyatt's door.
  1172.
  1173. Mathias#1381 [21-May-17 12:29 AM]
  1174. Caves, Vauhan.
  1175.
  1176. Rainglove#0072 [21-May-17 12:29 AM]
  1177. "Come in!"
  1178.
  1179. Nachtimus#1770 [21-May-17 12:31 AM]
1180. Vauhan enters and closes the door behind him. "We have big trouble. Something large and very dangerous has come out of the temple. It's..." Vauhan has trouble speaking the words, but gets it out, "The little spriteling is dead."
  1181.
  1182. Rainglove#0072 [21-May-17 12:34 AM]
  1183. "Yesab is dead?"
  1184.
  1185. Nachtimus#1770 [21-May-17 12:36 AM]
1186. Vauhan nods, having only just now been given the peace to think. "By the thing. I've already posted men to make sure we have constant watch over the gate to the Tomb, but we have no way of fighting it as we are."
  1187.
  1188. Mathias#1381 [21-May-17 12:43 AM]
1189. Loyd goes back to his old habits and just invites himself into Wyatt's office.
  1190.
  1191. Nachtimus#1770 [21-May-17 12:45 AM]
  1192. Vauhan notes Loyd's entrance.
  1193.
  1194. Mathias#1381 [21-May-17 12:45 AM]
1195. "You still got booze? Everyone is gonna need it. I need it."
  1196.
  1197. Nachtimus#1770 [21-May-17 12:46 AM]
1198. "You have my permission to enter my tent in the encampment. I have about 6 flagons left in my gallon barrel."
  1199.
  1200. Rainglove#0072 [21-May-17 12:47 AM]
1201. Elara enters and starts wordlessly patching up Vauhan while he and Wyatt talk
  1202.
  1203. Mathias#1381 [21-May-17 12:47 AM]
1204. "I'll pay you for it all later." And with that, Loyd leaves to rob Vauhan's camp of alcohol.
  1205.
  1206. Rainglove#0072 [21-May-17 12:47 AM]
1207. Wyatt just sort of looks at Vauhan for a minute. "Damn."
  1208.
  1209. Nachtimus#1770 [21-May-17 12:50 AM]
1210. Vauhan looks to Elara and says, "Thank you," before turning back to Wyatt. "Do we have an evacuation plan, if it should free itself from the Tomb?"
  1211.
  1212. Rainglove#0072 [21-May-17 12:51 AM]
1213. "I still have the charges I was planning to use to collapse the Lifeline when the Scythians were invading. I'll rig 'em to the tunnel to the Tomb, worst comes to worst we can cave it in."
  1214. "How is everyone else?"
  1215.
  1216. Nachtimus#1770 [21-May-17 12:53 AM]
  1217. "Alive, but shaken."
  1218.
  1219. Rainglove#0072 [21-May-17 12:55 AM]
1220. "Do you think it will come to us?"
  1221.
  1222. Nachtimus#1770 [21-May-17 12:56 AM]
1223. "I do not know. I am quite sure that whatever is underneath the lake is the same type of thing as what came out of the temple."
1224. "Someone will need to speak with the dragons to see if they have any records of these things. If anyone does, they would."
  1225.
  1226. Rainglove#0072 [21-May-17 12:58 AM]
1227. "Who had the next closest relationship with them after Yesab?"
1228. "We may need to ask for their help as well, if this thing is as dangerous as you said."
  1229.
  1230. Nachtimus#1770 [21-May-17 01:00 AM]
1231. "I... I'm not sure. I will ask the party."
  1232.
  1233. Rainglove#0072 [21-May-17 01:01 AM]
1234. "Please do. And take a moment, if you need it. I'll begin making preparations for... Whatever we're doing."
  1235.
  1236. Nachtimus#1770 [21-May-17 01:02 AM]
1237. "I do hope to slay it, but as we are, I don't think we *can*."
  1238.
  1239. Rainglove#0072 [21-May-17 01:05 AM]
  1240. He nods
  1241.
  1242. Nachtimus#1770 [21-May-17 01:07 AM]
1243. Vauhan seems to think about anything to say, but comes up blank. "If I come up with anything else, I will let you know."
  1244.
  1245. Rainglove#0072 [21-May-17 01:07 AM]
  1246. Another nod
  1247.
  1248. Nachtimus#1770 [21-May-17 01:08 AM]
1249. Vauhan takes his exit, although he waits for Elara.
1250. nvm he goes down with everyone else
  1251.
  1252. Cactus#6981 [22-May-17 01:06 PM]
1253. *Knock, knock Wyatt, open up*
  1254.
  1255. Rainglove#0072 [22-May-17 01:06 PM]
  1256. "Come in!"
  1257.
  1258. Cactus#6981 [22-May-17 01:07 PM]
1259. Arvio steps into Wyatt's room.
1260. "Good morning, Wyatt. Do you have a moment?"
  1261.
  1262. Rainglove#0072 [22-May-17 01:10 PM]
1263. "Yes, if you're quick. What do you need?"
  1264.
  1265. Cactus#6981 [22-May-17 01:11 PM]
1266. "I have been exploring this settlement and I have noticed there is a glaring lack support for the residents' spiritual needs. With your permission, I would like to constuct an all-faiths chapel for the everyone's use."
  1267.
  1268. Rainglove#0072 [22-May-17 01:24 PM]
1269. "Feel free, but I'm about to have a few projects come up that I'm going to need most people's help with. I don't know that you'll have much help with the construction."
1270. "There are a few unfinished buildings around the Hearth you may be able to start off of."
  1271.
  1272. Cactus#6981 [22-May-17 01:26 PM]
1273. "That would be very helpful. Where might I find supplies."
  1274.
  1275. Rainglove#0072 [22-May-17 01:35 PM]
1276. He waves towards the surface. "You'll have to get your own wood. If you need nails and the like, I'm sure you can find a supplier somewhere down here. If not, Rafael can smith whatever you need."
  1277.
  1278. Cactus#6981 [22-May-17 01:36 PM]
1279. "Excellent. I will get out of your fur. Have a nice day Wyatt."
  1280.
  1281. Rainglove#0072 [22-May-17 01:36 PM]
1282. Wyatt blinks. "Right. You too."
  1283.
  1284. Cactus#6981 [22-May-17 01:36 PM]
  1285. Arvio out
  1286.
  1287. Rainglove#0072 [22-May-17 01:36 PM]
  1288.
  1289. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 05:56 PM]
1290. Lex continues doing prep work, wondering where everyone is.
  1291.
  1292. Mathias#1381 [22-May-17 05:58 PM]
  1293. Bathing. Sleeping. Sharing backstories.
1294. Gotta go collect if you want to get anyone, Lex.
  1295.
  1296. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 05:59 PM]
1297. No one must care about Yesab, Lex thinks to himself.
  1298.
  1299. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 05:59 PM]
  1300. (noooooo)
  1301.
  1302. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 07:06 PM]
  1303. Lex is right tbh
  1304.
  1305. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 07:07 PM]
  1306. (noooooo)
  1307.
  1308. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 08:49 PM]
1309. Lex finishes up the sigils and stuff and goes out to collect Yesab's body and everyone else.
  1310.
  1311. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 08:50 PM]
1312. is it going to be at the tavern?
  1313.
  1314. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 08:51 PM]
1315. Lex set up sigils out in a place that is away from everyone.
1316. Just in case things explode.
  1317.
  1318. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 08:52 PM]
  1319. ah yes true
1320. Ashka comes to Lex, rubbing her nose. "What else will we need?"
  1321.
  1322. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 08:53 PM]
1323. "Money. Five thousand gold, preferably a diamond worth that much."
  1324.
  1325. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 08:54 PM]
  1326. "Oh" she squeaks.
  1327.
  1328. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 08:56 PM]
1329. Vauhan has come prepared with his bag of gold. "Five thousand? Woogh. But, we must do what we have to to get him back. Loyd has entrusted us with his savings, but I would rather not spend all of his money. I... I don't know much math. How much would it be for us to pay evenly?"
  1330.
  1331. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 08:57 PM]
1332. Maegan also flies in, touching down near the others. She's brought her entire bag of gold, just in case. "How many of us are coming?"
  1333.
  1334. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 08:58 PM]
1335. "Well it seems it is just the three of us?"
  1336.
  1337. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 08:58 PM]
1338. "So far it is me, you, Ashka, Loyd in spirit, and... Lex, will you assist?"
  1339.
  1340. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 08:59 PM]
1341. "This is how I am assisting. I do not have money after our expedition."
1342. "I spent it all on alchemical remedies."
  1343.
  1344. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 08:59 PM]
  1345. broke ass bitch
  1346.
  1347. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 08:59 PM]
1348. you got your MANS money
  1349. smh
  1350.
  1351. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 08:59 PM]
1352. "Ah, alright. Should we seek assistance from others? Edgar or Wyatt?"
  1353.
  1354. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 09:00 PM]
1355. "That might be a good idea, do you think they will be willing to help?"
  1356.
  1357. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 09:00 PM]
1358. "You may if you wish."
1359. "I will be here to make sure nothing disturbs these."
  1360.
  1361. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 09:02 PM]
1362. "I will speak with Wyatt, we are closest. One of you go speak with Edgar, someone who can convince him. I don't think he'll give up a thousand gold if you don't give him more of a reason than bringing Yesab back."
  1363.
  1364. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 09:03 PM]
1365. "Ah Maegan you have way with words, I can be your support!"
  1366.
  1367. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 09:05 PM]
1368. "Right. Let's go then." Maegan heads to Edgar's.
  1369.
  1370. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 09:05 PM]
1371. And Vauhan exits stage left to go speak with Wyatt.
  1372.
  1373. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 09:05 PM]
  1374. Ashka follows.
  1375.
  1376. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 09:05 PM]
1377. Wird just sits there to stare at Lex.
1378. "What does this ritual entail, again?"
  1379.
  1380. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 09:08 PM]
1381. "Oh right, you didn't come with us when we went to that other plane."
1382. "Essentially, we trigger magic and act as a conduit through the runes and the focus, giving up a great deal of our strength in the process."
1383. "Which allows us to accomplish magic greater than a single being could normally do."
  1384.
  1385. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 09:13 PM]
1386. "What's going to happen after he's back?"
  1387.
  1388. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 09:13 PM]
1389. "What do you mean? He shall be back, as he was."
  1390.
  1391. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 09:31 PM]
1392. Vauhan returns. "Wyatt was able to part with 500 gold."
  1393.
  1394. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 09:31 PM]
1395. Maegan returns. "Edgar gave us 1000."
  1396.
  1397. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 09:31 PM]
1398. "So that is... 3500 gold left? Right?"
  1399. "Or, no. 2500?"
1400. Vauhan tries counting on his hands.
  1401.
  1402. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 09:33 PM]
1403. Ashka also tries to count her hands.
1404. She has two of them.
  1405.
  1406. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 09:33 PM]
  1407. "3500 is right."
  1408.
  1409. Rainglove#0072 [22-May-17 09:33 PM]
  1410. Are you sure
  1411.
  1412. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 09:33 PM]
  1413. ya
  1414.
  1415. Rainglove#0072 [22-May-17 09:33 PM]
1416. There's an extra hand floating around now
  1417.
  1418. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 09:34 PM]
  1419. "We *should* have enough."
  1420.
  1421. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 09:34 PM]
1422. "Okay. I forget how to do the math. How much do each of us need to give?" He looks to the more intelligent among them.
  1423.
  1424. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 09:35 PM]
1425. "875 from each of us."
1426. "Loyd, you, Ashka, and me."
  1427.
  1428. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 09:35 PM]
1429. "Do we have everything we need then?"
  1430.
  1431. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 09:36 PM]
1432. "Okay," he says, counting out that much from his own and Loyd's money.
  1433.
  1434. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 09:36 PM]
1435. Ashka pulls out her own pouch and dishes out the 875.
  1436.
  1437. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 09:38 PM]
1438. Maegan pays up as well, also handing over Edgar's pouch. "That should be everything. Are we ready?"
  1439.
  1440. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 09:43 PM]
1441. "I believe so. How does the ritual go?"
  1442.
  1443. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 09:45 PM]
1444. "Anyone who wishes to supply their strength will stand in the circle with me. And we will hold hands."
  1445.
  1446. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 09:45 PM]
1447. Ashka heads in instantly and stick out her hands.
  1448.
  1449. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 09:45 PM]
  1450. Oh hold hands 😊
  1451. Maegan also steps in.
  1452.
  1453. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 09:46 PM]
  1454. !
  1455.
  1456. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 09:46 PM]
1457. Vauhan, too, takes the hands of whoever is adjacent to him
  1458.
  1459. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 09:47 PM]
1460. Lex stands in the middle, over Yesab's body, hands outstretched in either direction.
1461. "I will trigger it once everyone is ready."
  1462.
  1463. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 09:47 PM]
  1464. "I am ready."
  1465.
  1466. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 09:47 PM]
1467. "Ready as I'll ever be."
  1468.
  1469. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 09:48 PM]
  1470. "Ready."
  1471.
  1472. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 09:50 PM]
1473. Lex speaks the words as he learned them, in draconic, triggering the ritual magic.
  1474.
  1475. Rainglove#0072 [22-May-17 09:59 PM]
1476. For a moment, nothing happens, and then you feel the slow drain of your strength leaving you.
  1477.
  1478. Rainglove#0072 [22-May-17 10:00 PM]
1479. Each of you takes 6 points of strength damage
  1480.
  1481. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 10:01 PM]
  1482. Maegan collapses.
  1483.
  1484. Rainglove#0072 [22-May-17 10:01 PM]
1485. Unlike the usual cataclysmic blast that happens with the other dramatic forms of ritual magic you've seen used before, this one is slower. Lex's diagram glows softly, as does Yesab's body.
  1486. @Goatwright#9050 YO you're rezzing right
  1487.
  1488. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:01 PM]
1489. Vauhan still stands, although his once beautiful, bodacious, muscular frame is now significantly less so.
  1490.
  1491. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:01 PM]
  1492. Yeah he's ascending
  1493.
  1494. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 10:02 PM]
1495. Lex just keeps his eyes closed, murmuring words.
  1496.
  1497. Rainglove#0072 [22-May-17 10:02 PM]
1498. A soft blue light descends through the ceiling, swirls around Yesab's body, and with a shock he reawakens.
  1499.
  1500. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:03 PM]
1501. With a shock, Yesab jolts up. "You found me!"
  1502.
  1503. Rainglove#0072 [22-May-17 10:03 PM]
  1504. yesab dies again
  1505.
  1506. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 10:03 PM]
1507. "Yesab? Yesab! Are you really back?"
  1508.
  1509. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:03 PM]
1510. "Yesab!" Vauhan immediately goes to embrace him. "I thought you were going to be gone forever!"
  1511.
  1512. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 10:04 PM]
1513. Maegan just kinda lays there.
  1514. "Glad to...see you again..."
  1515.
  1516. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:04 PM]
1517. "S-so did I!" He returns the embrace.
  1518.
  1519. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 10:04 PM]
1520. Lex sits down. "I am glad that worked."
  1521.
  1522. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 10:04 PM]
1523. Ashka fucking leaps to Yesab.
1524. And goes for a cradle.
  1525.
  1526. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:05 PM]
  1527. Group hug!
  1528.
  1529. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:05 PM]
1530. Yesab's vines spread from under his mask to pull *everybody* into a hug.
  1531.
  1532. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 10:05 PM]
1533. "Oh god, n-never again will you ever go away."
  1534.
  1535. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:05 PM]
1536. Maegan doesn't get to lay there, she's hugging too.
  1537. C'mere Lex
  1538.
  1539. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 10:05 PM]
1540. Lex hugs back. "I am glad you are okay."
  1541.
  1542. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:05 PM]
1543. He then panics. "Where's everybody else?"
  1544.
  1545. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 10:05 PM]
1546. Maegan can't move her arms up so she just leans on him. "They made it, don't worry."
  1547.
  1548. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:06 PM]
  1549. "Even hand lady?"
  1550.
  1551. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:06 PM]
1552. You can tell Vauhan's fighting back tears, and also much less muscle-y. "Even hand lady."
  1553.
  1554. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 10:06 PM]
  1555. awh Vauhan!
  1556.
  1557. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 10:06 PM]
1558. "I don't know how many more of those I have in me, so be careful little buddy, okay?"
  1559.
  1560. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 10:06 PM]
1561. "Lex, what you have done is amazing. How are you feeling?"
  1562.
  1563. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:06 PM]
1564. "How am I even back?" He looks to Lex.
  1565.
  1566. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 10:06 PM]
1567. "Do not worry about me Ashka." Lex gives a small smile.
1568. "Oh, well. You remember that ritual magic that we used to open the path to that portal?"
  1569.
  1570. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:07 PM]
  1571. He nods.
  1572.
  1573. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 10:07 PM]
1574. "I had been studying it for a bit, and went and dug deeper, learning specific rituals. Uh...specifically ones to bring people back."
1575. "I had intended to use it for someone else originally, but...he wouldn't have wanted it."
  1576.
  1577. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:09 PM]
1578. "Oh, no." Yesab picks up on the subtext. "He's doing okay."
  1579.
  1580. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:10 PM]
1581. "Er, perhaps we ought to... Figure out how to fix us?" He potions to his, probably now a little flabby, skin, and the lack of muscle thereof. "Elara might have something. I feel as weak as I did back in my teenage years."
  1582.
  1583. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 10:10 PM]
1584. "Elara and rest are what you all need."
1585. "I am sure there are others capable of performing her magic as well."
  1586.
  1587. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 10:10 PM]
1588. "Oh god I hope I can carry Maegan."
  1589.
  1590. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 10:10 PM]
  1591. "Seriously, I can't move."
  1592.
  1593. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:11 PM]
1594. Yesab tentacles out to pick up Maegan.
  1595.
  1596. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 10:11 PM]
  1597. Oh boy
  1598.
  1599. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:11 PM]
  1600. "It's the least I can do!"
  1601.
  1602. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 10:11 PM]
  1603. Oh jeez
  1604. tentacles
  1605.
  1606. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 10:12 PM]
  1607. HE'S 6
  1608.
  1609. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 10:12 PM]
1610. "Uh, thank you, Yesab." Maegan is LIFTED. "How are you so strong?"
  1611.
  1612. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:12 PM]
1613. "Ogh, Maegan, you do not look well at all."
  1614.
  1615. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 10:12 PM]
1616. "How do you feel Maegan?"
  1617.
  1618. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 10:12 PM]
1619. "Now if you excuse me, I need to go rest after that."
  1620.
  1621. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 10:12 PM]
1622. "Yes Lex please, Edgar will be waiting for you."
  1623.
  1624. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 10:12 PM]
1625. Lex turns into a fox and looks up at Yesab. "Please don't die again. I don't want to lose you."
  1626.
  1627. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 10:13 PM]
1628. "Well, I can barely lift my limbs. I've been better."
  1629.
  1630. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:13 PM]
1631. "I'll certainly try not to."
  1632.
  1633. Soren#1962 [22-May-17 10:14 PM]
1634. Lex trots off to Edgar.
  1635.
  1636. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:14 PM]
1637. "It was not simple to bring you back, either. You see what the ritual's done to us. Not to mention, Wyatt and Edgar helped with the cost. You should thank them when you can."
  1638.
  1639. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:15 PM]
1640. Yesab floats Maegan off to Elara's. "It's part of my magic! I see it didn't leave me quite as much as my health has." He does indeed look a little gaunt after the revival, but Wird seems very eager to snuggle back up in Yesab's backpack. Sign of magic indeed.
1641. "I'll be sure to talk to both of them."
1642. "I.. well, I definitely didn't expect things to end up like this."
  1643.
  1644. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:16 PM]
1645. Vauhan follows behind Yesab. "Life rarely goes as we expect it." Upon their entering the clinic, he says, "Elara, dear, guess who has returned to us!"
  1646.
  1647. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 10:16 PM]
  1648. "None of us did."
  1649.
  1650. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 10:17 PM]
1651. "We missed you terribly. We will make sure we are more careful next time." She gives him a light pat.
  1652.
  1653. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:17 PM]
1654. "Is the.. thing still down there?"
1655. "How long have I been gone, actually?"
  1656.
  1657. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 10:17 PM]
1658. "A couple of days, actually."
  1659.
  1660. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:18 PM]
1661. "How long did it feel?"
  1662.
  1663. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:18 PM]
1664. "Has anything started flooding yet?" He asks almost immediately after Maegan's answer, cutting Vauhan off.
  1665.
  1666. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 10:19 PM]
1667. "Flooded? What do you mean?"
  1668.
  1669. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:19 PM]
1670. "Oh, good! Okay, it's not important."
1671. "Just gonna have to get on that..."
  1672.
  1673. Rainglove#0072 [22-May-17 10:20 PM]
1674. Elara is in her clinic. She turns as Yesab opens the door, and then does a double take. "Yesab! Wyatt told me you may be coming back, but I didn't expect it to be so... Quick."
  1675.
  1676. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:21 PM]
1677. He then turns to respond to Vauhan. "Well, it's kind of hard to tell. I died! Like, I died-died. So that was a new experience! I didn't really expect any of it. I don't feel like I was really there the entire time, either. The soul thing is.. well, I guess it's just kind of complicated."
1678. "But I met Pharasma! And she was *very* nice. She called me cute."
1679. He then jumps and waves at Elara. "Hello!"
  1680.
  1681. Rainglove#0072 [22-May-17 10:22 PM]
1682. She waves back, looking at the collapsed Maegan and slightly less jacked Vauhan. "I expect you're all here for restoration?"
  1683.
  1684. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 10:23 PM]
  1685. "How did you guess?"
  1686.
  1687. Rainglove#0072 [22-May-17 10:23 PM]
  1688. "Call it a healer's intuition."
  1689.
  1690. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:23 PM]
1691. "If that is what will return our strength to us, then yes." Vauhan attempts to flex, and it is not nearly as impressive as it usually is.
  1692.
  1693. Rainglove#0072 [22-May-17 10:23 PM]
1694. She distributes two potions of lesser restoration to everyone.
1695. so 2d4 str damage fixed for everyone

  1737.
  1738. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:25 PM]
1739. Vauhan's muscles come rippling back, and he attempts to flex once again. It is *good*. "Ah, many thanks, Elara! Although... Little spriteling, you look... Pale, still."
  1740.
  1741. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 10:25 PM]
  1742. "I wouldn't be surprised."
  1743.
  1744. Rainglove#0072 [22-May-17 10:26 PM]
1745. "Yesab has... Something I can't fix. You'll need potent magic for that."
  1746.
  1747. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 10:26 PM]
1748. Powah!!!! Boom Swole Ashka is back
  1749.
  1750. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 10:26 PM]
1751. Maegan can at least sorta stand now. "Thank you anyways. I'll simply heal the rest."
  1752.
  1753. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:27 PM]
1754. Yesab finally sets ol' Maegan down.
  1755.
  1756. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 10:27 PM]
1757. She gets up kinda wobbly but steadies herself quickly. Don't push her now.

  1764.
  1765. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:27 PM]
1766. "I guess I'll have to consult with the dragons on this one, then." He rubs his face.
  1767.
  1768. Rainglove#0072 [22-May-17 10:31 PM]
  1769. You're not sure, Vauhan
1770. Energy drain, that much you know. But the kind that doesn't heal naturally.
  1771.
  1772. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:32 PM]
1773. "What the little spriteling has, it is like energy drain, yes? Just not... Healable?" Vauhan tries his best.
  1774.
  1775. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 10:33 PM]
1776. im sure elara will still love you

  1780.
  1781. Cactus#6981 [22-May-17 10:37 PM]
1782. Arvio opens up the door and peeks his head in, "Hello."
  1783. Ah Yesab
  1784. "Yesab!"
  1785.
  1786. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 10:39 PM]
  1787. "Arvio? A bit late, aren't you?"
  1788.
  1789. Cactus#6981 [22-May-17 10:39 PM]
1790. "I am so terribly sorry."
  1791. "Is everyone safe?"
  1792.
  1793. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:40 PM]
1794. "Yes. Elara has brought us back to fighting form. Except for Maegan. She still needs some time. And Yesab, I think, might still be a little dead?"
  1795.
  1796. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 10:41 PM]
  1797. "But he is here!"
  1798.
  1799. Hippocratesi#9485 [22-May-17 10:41 PM]
1800. "I just need rest is all. I'll be fine."
  1801.
  1802. Cactus#6981 [22-May-17 10:41 PM]
1803. Arvio cocks his head at that last bit Vauhan.
  1804.
  1805. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:42 PM]
1806. Yesab waves to Arvio. "Hello!"
1807. "I'm uh, alive again! Mostly!"
  1808.
  1809. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:42 PM]
1810. "Well, I was just saying, the little spriteling looks pale, like he's had his energy drained, but more... Severe."
  1811.
  1812. Cactus#6981 [22-May-17 10:42 PM]
1813. "I am glad to see it."

  1817.
  1818. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 10:42 PM]
1819. Ashka checks his little green face. "I am certain it is something we can fix."

  1821. Cactus#6981 [22-May-17 10:43 PM]
1822. "Does that not usually heal on its own?"
  1823.
  1824. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:43 PM]
1825. Vauhan shakes his head. "Not according to what I've read."
  1826.
  1827. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:44 PM]
1828. "Maybe a little bit of me was left with Pharasma."
1829. "She did like me quite a bit, after all."
1830. Yesab seems very proud of this fact.
  1831.
  1832. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:44 PM]
  1833. "Who is this Pharasma?"

  1837.
  1838. Cactus#6981 [22-May-17 10:44 PM]
  1839. "The goddess?"
  1840.
  1841. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:45 PM]
1842. "The Goddess! The one who sorts everybody's souls out and decides where to put them."
  1843.
  1844. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:45 PM]
1845. "Oh, okay," Vauhan says, having not really heard of her in anything but passing.
  1846.
  1847. Doe Heart#8349 [22-May-17 10:46 PM]
1848. Ashka has left to check up on poor little Maegan.
  1849.
  1850. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:47 PM]
1851. "Well, uh, I suppose that's just another thing we'll have to figure out when we revisit the dragons."
  1852.
  1853. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:47 PM]
1854. Yesab resumes his place on Vauhan's shoulders.
1855. "How's Ysbail? Laurent was very worried."
  1856.
  1857. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:47 PM]
1858. Vauhan missed the light weight.
1859. "She is well. She eats much meat and sleeps a lot."
  1860.
  1861. Cactus#6981 [22-May-17 10:48 PM]

  1867. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:52 PM]
1868. "I'm mostly just happy to be back. Although I'd certainly rather not die again."
  1869. "That wasn't a great experience."
  1870.
  1871. Cactus#6981 [22-May-17 10:53 PM]
1872. "I cannot imagine it would be."
  1873.
  1874. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:56 PM]
1875. "Well, I do not want to rush you, but we still have much work ahead of us. While we wait for Maegan to rest, sometime in the next few days, we ought to go to the library and see if we can figure anything out about the beast in the Tomb, and if there is any way to bring you back to the way you were before all this."
  1876.
  1877. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:56 PM]
1878. "Also we have to fix the sewers."
  1879.
  1880. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:57 PM]
1881. "What is wrong with them?"
  1882.
  1883. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:57 PM]
1884. "Just something I forgot about before I died."
  1885.
  1886. Cactus#6981 [22-May-17 10:57 PM]
1887. "They were working fine this morning."
  1888.
  1889. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 10:57 PM]
1890. "Do you need help with that or will you be fine?"
  1891.
  1892. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 10:58 PM]
1893. "I would love some help! Just in case anything's gotten down there."
  1894.
  1895. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 11:00 PM]
1896. "Then let me know when you want to fix the sewers. I've also asked Wyatt to let me know when he finds someone who knows how to construct siege weapons. Arvio here suggested it might be a good idea against the beast."
  1897.
  1898. Cactus#6981 [22-May-17 11:00 PM]

  1901.
  1902. Goatwright#9050 [22-May-17 11:02 PM]
1903. "I'll need Edgar to set something up for me, first, but I would love some help! I'm not.. feeling my strongest, so any assistance is nice."
  1904.
  1905. Nachtimus#1770 [22-May-17 11:03 PM]
  1906. "Of course."
  1907.
  1908. Cactus#6981 [26-May-17 08:09 PM]
1909. Meanwhile, Arvio is conducting a small survey. Who do the residents of this settlement want to see a shrine to in the chapel?
1910. He has a cute clipboard and everything, he even did up his floppy bit of hair on his head and dressed up.

1925. Sarenrae and Abadar are the more popular gods by a pretty significant margin in Parthia. You actually have a not-insignificant following for Gorum among the soldiers, who it seems have been influenced by Vauhan's example. Iomedae also has a following, but she lags behind both Sarenrae and Abadar.

1933. He dutifully writes all this information down, hmmm, what about the rest of his group?
1934. Arvio moves on toward the tavern, since that's where everyone is now a days
  1935.
  1936. Soren#1962 [26-May-17 08:39 PM]
1937. Atanas moves closer. "Arvio. May I make a request?"
  1938.
  1939. Cactus#6981 [26-May-17 08:39 PM]
1940. For a moment there he almost yelped.
  1941. "Oh - uh, sure."
  1942.
  1943. Soren#1962 [26-May-17 08:40 PM]

1947. "The butterfly is fine, but she's likely not going to get much attention here. You are the first to mention her."
  1948.
  1949. Soren#1962 [26-May-17 08:53 PM]
1950. "I do not mind. She has been through much, and I would at least like her to get a small bit of recognition."
1951. "And it would give me a place to...think."
  1952.
  1953. Cactus#6981 [26-May-17 08:54 PM]
1954. "It should not be that hard to fit. This settlement is surprisingly uniform faith wise."
  1955.
  1956. Mathias#1381 [26-May-17 08:55 PM]
1957. Loyd reappears near Arvio and Atanas. While he will make sure his presence is recognized, he won't interrupt their conversation. How un-Loyd of him.
  1958.
  1959. Cactus#6981 [26-May-17 08:55 PM]
1960. "Other than that, do you have any other requests?"
  1961.
  1962. Soren#1962 [26-May-17 08:56 PM]
1963. "No. Thank you, Arvio. You do not know what this means to me."
  1964.
  1965. Cactus#6981 [26-May-17 08:57 PM]
  1966. His face remains impassive.
  1967.
  1968. Mathias#1381 [26-May-17 08:57 PM]
1969. A thank you usually means an end to a conversation. Loyd coughs to grab their attention. "You two want to visit a dragon city?"
  1970.
  1971. Cactus#6981 [26-May-17 08:58 PM]
1972. "Is this another expedition or is this a peaceful trip?"
  1973.
  1974. Mathias#1381 [26-May-17 09:00 PM]
1975. "Peaceful. We're going to be talking to a friendly dragon and checking out their library for any information on the Lich and the constructs."
  1976.
  1977. Cactus#6981 [26-May-17 09:00 PM]
1978. "I would like to attend then."

1993. "Well, sorry that you can't come alone, Atanas. Arvio, if you're still going around asking people about their faith, then just meet me over at that building there when you're done, okay?" Loyd points out Yesab's place.
  1994. Far in the distance.
  1995.
  1996. Cactus#6981 [26-May-17 09:05 PM]

  2037.
  2038. Mathias#1381 [27-May-17 11:17 PM]
2039. Of course the clinic is the first place Loyd looks. Of course he wasn't thinking how he was going to find Elara's private room just to be able to talk to Vauhan. "Hello?" Loyd knockity-knocks on the clinic door and then invites himself in.
  2040.
  2041. Nachtimus#1770 [27-May-17 11:17 PM]
2042. Vauhan doesn't look well off at all, although presumably there's some sort of tarp system in place to preserve his dignity.
2043. Bloodshot eyes, shivering despite there not being any cold, and he doesn't look completely there mentally.
  2044.
  2045. Mathias#1381 [27-May-17 11:19 PM]
2046. "How you managed to get the Dahean Flu all the way down here is a mystery to me..." Loyd places Yesab down somewhere soft so he can put the bag of Librarian loot down and start to dig in his bag for the herbs that Caelia gave him. "Elara? One of the dragons gave us this for the Dahean Flu. Hope it helps." Cleric gets a fuckton of herbs and curing stuff, I guess.

2057. "And Vauhan, make sure the air stays with you. I know what the Dahean Flu can do to a man and I don't want to deal with those problems. I'm happy being healthy."

2072. Loyd scoots back a bit. Don't cough on him. "Elara, really, go get some rest, before you're in a bed next to him." Or in the same bed, if that's what you want, Elara! "You're clearly not invincible."

2089. "Or, knowing you, I can just track down another bear for you to kill so you can give it to her."

2145. "I think the ritual weakened you enough for you to get sick, aye. Last time I witnessed a ritual, Lex and Tourm were weak as weak could be. Hell, probably why we can't find Tourm right now. Sure he's locked up somewhere trying to deal with his sickness alone."

  2156. Nachtimus#1770 [27-May-17 11:45 PM]
  2157. "Oh gods, noooo."
  2158.
  2159. Cactus#6981 [27-May-17 11:46 PM]
2160. Healers only knock for polietness' sake, he's letting himself in anyway.
  2161.
  2162. Nachtimus#1770 [27-May-17 11:46 PM]
2163. "Oh, it is the gnoll. I thought you were someone else."
  2164.
  2165. Cactus#6981 [27-May-17 11:47 PM]
2166. "No, it is very much me."
  2167.
  2168. Mathias#1381 [27-May-17 11:48 PM]
2169. "Elara is getting some rest. Think you can handle the clinic on your own for a bit, Arvio?"
  2170.
  2171. Cactus#6981 [27-May-17 11:48 PM]
2172. "Of course, it is my job."
2173. How many people are at this clinic right now anyway
  2174.
  2175. Mathias#1381 [27-May-17 11:48 PM]
2176. Loyd, sleeping Yesab, Vauhan, Arvio.
  2177.
  2178. Cactus#6981 [27-May-17 11:49 PM]
2179. Ah yes, he forgot to count himself.
  2180.
  2181. Nachtimus#1770 [27-May-17 11:50 PM]
2182. Vauhan starts to say something, but descends quickly into a mumble.
  2183.
  2184. Cactus#6981 [27-May-17 11:50 PM]
2185. "He does not sound too well."
  2186.
  2187. Mathias#1381 [27-May-17 11:51 PM]
2188. "Ah, right, should probably keep the leader of our group updated about the other happenings today. We went to visit the Librarian today." Loyd lets Vauhan mumble first, just nodding along, and then continues to talk about the Librarian, the information learned, the items earned, and the dirty deal made.
  2189.
  2190. Nachtimus#1770 [27-May-17 11:52 PM]
2191. Vauhan kinda just stares for some time after Loyd brings up the deal, attempting to sit up, but finding it better for everyone if he remains lying down. "What sort of fool takes blood from the abyss?"
  2192.
  2193. Mathias#1381 [27-May-17 11:52 PM]
2194. Would you like to answer that, Arvio? 😃
  2195.
  2196. Cactus#6981 [27-May-17 11:53 PM]
2197. "Did you forget what the beast and the lich did to us the last time we fought Vauhan?"
2198. "Even if it was foolish or even self-destructive, I will take that risk if I can assure it means someone else doesn't have to hurt."
  2199.
  2200. Nachtimus#1770 [27-May-17 11:57 PM]
2201. Vauhan growls some, but quiets upon his explanation. He wants to say something, but all he manages to get out is, "You should pray."
  2202.
  2203. Cactus#6981 [27-May-17 11:57 PM]
2204. "I pray every day Vauhan."
  2205.
  2206. Mathias#1381 [27-May-17 11:57 PM]
2207. "For all we know, his god or goddess would have approved of that type of deal." Loyd doesn't know/remember Arvio's god/goddess. How rude.
  2208.
  2209. Nachtimus#1770 [27-May-17 11:58 PM]
  2210. "Where are the others?"
  2211.
  2212. Cactus#6981 [27-May-17 11:58 PM]
2213. "I believe they went back to their tavern. Atanas is ... where ever Atanas goes when we aren't working with her."
  2214.
  2215. Nachtimus#1770 [27-May-17 11:59 PM]
2216. "Do t-" \*cough cough\* "Do they have pints yet?"
  2217.
  2218. Mathias#1381 [27-May-17 11:59 PM]
2219. "I think Atanas stayed in the dragon city. Ashka and Maegan went back to the tavern. Maegan... also took part in the deal, but it is far more obvious that she did." He points to his eyes, hoping Vauhan will understand what he is trying to mean.
2220. "No, Vauhan. Maegan is still waiting for her order. No alcohol for you just yet."
  2221.
  2222. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:01 AM]
2223. Vauhan is particularly disappointed in learning this.
  2224.
  2225. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 12:01 AM]
2226. "Only an old maid would let a patient drink while ill anyway. I am afraid you will be stuck to water and juices for the time being."
  2227.
  2228. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 12:01 AM]
2229. "Are you even supposed to drink-" And Arvio comes with the answers. Good Arvio.
  2230.
  2231. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:02 AM]
2232. "Bah! I've had plenty of drinks while ill, and I'm still around, aren't I?"
2233. "It helps me forget the room spins."
2234. "The room spinning from alcohol is nicer than from sickness. Like a mother swinging her babe around."
  2235.
  2236. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 12:03 AM]
2237. "Just think of all the alcohol you can have with Elara once you're better. Maybe that will help you manage."
  2238.
  2239. Doe Heart#8349 [28-May-17 12:04 AM]
  2240. aawww
  2241.
  2242. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 12:04 AM]
2243. "And besides, the herbs that we've procured from the dragons should heal you quickly."
  2244.
  2245. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:04 AM]
2246. "Oh! You've gotten herbs. Wonderful."
  2247.
  2248. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 12:05 AM]
2249. "Yeah, I mentioned that earlier. Does Dahean Flu give memory problems?"
  2250.
  2251. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:05 AM]
2252. "I feel like I am floating in confusion."
  2253.
  2254. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 12:05 AM]
  2255. "Oh dear"
  2256.
  2257. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 12:06 AM]
2258. "Is there anything you can give to Vauhan until Elara deals with the herbs, Arvio?"
  2259.
  2260. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 12:06 AM]
  2261. "I have a few things."
  2262.
  2263. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:06 AM]
2264. "Ogh, I can only hope she will take the time to drink with me. Brave as I am, I still trouble in asking her to take the time off."
  2265.
  2266. Doe Heart#8349 [28-May-17 12:06 AM]
  2267. awwww
2268. woozy vauhan is best vauhan
  2269.
  2270. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 12:07 AM]
2271. "That is very sweet Vauhan, but I can handle her duties well enough."
2272. "Don't fret overmuch about *that*"
  2273.
  2274. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 12:08 AM]
2275. "You act like a little boy dealing with his first love at times, Vauhan."
  2276.
  2277. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:08 AM]
2278. "I thought you were an apprentice."
  2279.
  2280. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 12:08 AM]
2281. "Acolyte, I am not ordained but I have finished my training."
2282. "On the completion of my pilgramage I will get my title."
  2283.
  2284. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:09 AM]
  2285. "...For being a healer?"
  2286.
  2287. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 12:09 AM]
2288. "Priest.... healing is a significant portion of my job."
  2289.
  2290. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:11 AM]
2291. "Oh. Are they not the same thing?"
  2292.
  2293. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 12:12 AM]
2294. "One can be a healer but not a priest, but a priest is expected to also be a healer."
  2295.
  2296. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:13 AM]
2297. Vauhan appears confused for a moment, then feigns understanding poorly. "...Yes, of course."
  2298.
  2299. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 12:14 AM]
2300. Arvio feels sympathy for the sick man, "Do not fret about it."
  2301.
  2302. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 12:17 AM]
2303. "Vauhan, do you think the Lich's... soul vessel could have its origins from another plane? Not like he picked it up from another plane, but it was an object from another plane that he used for his soul vessel?"
2304. "...Like he grabbed a rock and turned it into a soul vessel. I'm... I think I might confuse myself if I keep talking, so I'm going to hope you understood me."
  2305.
  2306. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:18 AM]
2307. "Loyd, you speak to an ill man with little understanding of magic. But maybe, if you think it might be."
  2308.
  2309. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 12:20 AM]
2310. "Arvio has never really dealt with the lich nor the dead plane, so I cannot ask him; Yesab is sleeping, and I don't intend to wake him up; Maegan hates me. Who else could I ask?"
  2311.
  2312. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:22 AM]
2313. Vauhan shrugs as best he can.
  2314.
  2315. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 12:22 AM]
2316. "Are there no other spellcasters in the settlement?"
  2317.
  2318. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:22 AM]
2319. "The most capable among us are the ones who risk their lives."
  2320.
  2321. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 12:23 AM]
2322. "I'm either not able to trust them for some reason or they wouldn't know what I'm talking about."
  2323.
  2324. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 12:24 AM]
  2325. Arvio nods, "Understandable."
  2326.
  2327. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 12:25 AM]
2328. "Only one who could answer me is the Librarian, and I don't think he could give me a straight answer. Probably too annoyed that I wouldn't cut my hand for him."
  2329.
  2330. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:25 AM]
  2331. "Mm."
  2332.
  2333. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 12:25 AM]
2334. "That *was* a bit strange."
  2335.
  2336. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:26 AM]
2337. "Ask me again when I am more... Here." He motions around his head.
  2338.
  2339. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 12:27 AM]
2340. "I'll ask you a few days after you're a bit more there. You got to take Elara out first." Loyd scratches his stumble, changing out his Yesab carrying arm. "I wonder if the bomb really could destroy that magic rune that was in the temple."
  2341.
  2342. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:29 AM]
2343. "Yes. I must make up for this trouble I've caused."
2344. "Ought I do more than just dinner and drink?"
  2345.
  2346. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 12:33 AM]
2347. "Elara doesn't need more than that. You could always end it by retiring to her room for some more drinks."
  2348.
  2349. Doe Heart#8349 [28-May-17 12:34 AM]
  2350. to pray?
  2351.
  2352. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:36 AM]
2353. Vauhan chuckles. "If she would have that after this episode."
  2354.
  2355. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 12:38 AM]
2356. "She stayed up for two days straight to take care of you when she could have gone to sleep at any time. She's "head over heels" as the Albans would say. I'm willing to bet every last coin that she would be more than happy to have that."
  2357.
  2358. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:40 AM]
2359. "Ah, that's just her dedication to her job, is it not?"
  2360.
  2361. Doe Heart#8349 [28-May-17 12:41 AM]
  2362. wow
  2363. this guy
  2364.
  2365. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 12:41 AM]
2366. "Do you think she would have stayed up that long if I was stuck in bed? Or if Tourm was stuck in bed?"
  2367.
  2368. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:42 AM]
2369. "How would I know? I'm not her."
  2370.
  2371. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 12:42 AM]
2372. "The answer is no, Vauhan. She would have went to sleep and told Arvio or you to handle the rest."
  2373.
  2374. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:43 AM]
2375. "But I am no healer. I am a warrior who follows a healer's steps."
  2376.
  2377. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 12:43 AM]
2378. This fucking guy. "When you get better, just try it and you'll realize I'm right."
  2379.
  2380. Doe Heart#8349 [28-May-17 12:46 AM]
2381. Hello Ashka is here! She walks into the clinic and sees poor, poor, Vauhan.
2382. She tries hard to ignore the uglier symptoms. "Ah Vauhan, how do you feel?"
  2383.
  2384. Goatwright#9050 [28-May-17 12:47 AM]
2385. Look at it throb Ashka
  2386.
  2387. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:47 AM]
2388. Vauhan wolf whistles at Ashka. "Hello!"
  2389.
  2390. Doe Heart#8349 [28-May-17 12:47 AM]
  2391. dun do dis
  2392.
  2393. Goatwright#9050 [28-May-17 12:47 AM]
  2394. It's raging
  2395. Maybe for you even
  2396. Who knows
  2397.
  2398. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 12:48 AM]
2399. Loyd starts to fall asleep wherever he is sitting. Don't bother him. Zzzz. He is craddling sleeping Yesab still. Zzzzzz.
  2400.
  2401. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:48 AM]
  2402. It's also hidden, so there's that.
  2403.
  2404. Doe Heart#8349 [28-May-17 12:48 AM]
2405. Ashka has heard of these whistles before but does not know what they mean.
2406. "Are you doing any better?"
  2407.
  2408. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:49 AM]
2409. "They have brought herbs for me."
  2410.
  2411. Doe Heart#8349 [28-May-17 12:50 AM]
2412. She glances at the Loyd. "I am assuming he has told you what we have been up to?"
  2413.
  2414. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:50 AM]
2415. "I have heard some. Forgotten some."
  2416.
  2417. Doe Heart#8349 [28-May-17 12:52 AM]
2418. She chuckles and waves it off. "When you return to us I am sure you will remember."
  2419.
  2420. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 12:52 AM]
2421. "He is quite forgetful at the moment Ashka."
  2422.
  2423. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:52 AM]
  2424. "How are the others?"
  2425.
  2426. Doe Heart#8349 [28-May-17 12:54 AM]
2427. "Maegan is...still dealing with it. Yesab has been resting like a baby, and Atanas, well not sure where they went."
  2428.
  2429. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:55 AM]
2430. "No one knows where Atanas goes, it seems. It is good the little spriteling is not awake to see me like this."
  2431.
  2432. Doe Heart#8349 [28-May-17 12:56 AM]
2433. "Oh you do not look... so bad." He does look that bad.
  2434.
  2435. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 12:58 AM]
2436. "You don't see the worst of it. Would you like to? It is only fair, given what I've seen from you." You might think he's trying to give you a flirtatious look, but his dizziness and general illness just makes him look confused.
  2437.
  2438. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 12:58 AM]
2439. Arvio looks up from his medicine preparation for just a moment and promptly returns to minding his own business.
  2440.
  2441. Doe Heart#8349 [28-May-17 01:00 AM]
  2442. oh my gosd
2443. Ashka doesnt really know what he means but she will pass on his offer. damn what a shame
2444. "Ah no, I believe you should get much more rest for what is about to come."
  2445.
  2446. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 01:02 AM]
2447. "Alright. Wait, what's to come?"
  2448.
  2449. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 01:02 AM]
2450. "The lich and the construct, we have yet to kill them."
  2451.
  2452. Doe Heart#8349 [28-May-17 01:03 AM]
2453. "And according to some information, we may have serveral guests incoming."
  2454.
  2455. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 01:04 AM]
2456. "Turn them away, I don't want them to see me like this."
  2457.
  2458. Doe Heart#8349 [28-May-17 01:05 AM]
2459. "But that is for another day, it was very nice to see you Vauhan." She chuckles a bit. "Worry not, they will not be here that soon."
2460. She leaves to walk out but before adjusting Loyd so his neck wont hurt in the morning. She gives hima light pat. Before walking out the door, she turns back to Vauhan. "You do not look so bad, your face holds up."
  2461.
  2462. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 01:07 AM]
  2463. "Goodnight Ashka" Arvio waves
  2464.
  2465. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 01:07 AM]
2466. "Good, I'm in no mood to see a lich right now. Oh you are leaving. Come back if you change your mind!"
  2467.
  2468. Doe Heart#8349 [28-May-17 01:08 AM]
2469. "Goodnight Arvio, I trust you will take good care of him." She might be back for it later. She leaves...bye!!!!
  2470.
  2471. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 01:13 AM]
2472. "Gods, what a beauty. I can only wonder what would've happened if..." He looks to Arvio. "Oh, you're still here."
  2473.
  2474. Doe Heart#8349 [28-May-17 01:13 AM]
  2475. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2476.
  2477. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 01:13 AM]
  2478. "That I am."
  2479.
  2480. Doe Heart#8349 [28-May-17 01:13 AM]
2481. must be the sickness talking
  2482.
  2483. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 01:13 AM]
2484. "Did I say all that aloud?"
  2485.
  2486. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 01:14 AM]
  2487. "That you did."
  2488.
  2489. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 01:15 AM]
2490. "Ah. That I did." He doesn't seem embarrassed about it, just surprised.
  2491.
  2492. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 01:16 AM]
2493. "I imagine you are experiencing something akin to a waking fever dream right now, so I would not think to judge you right now."
  2494.
  2495. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 01:17 AM]
2496. "What is there to judge me by?"
  2497.
  2498. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 01:18 AM]
  2499. "Nothing Vauhan, nothing."
  2500.
  2501. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 01:19 AM]
2502. "Mm. I am going to try to rest. Wake me if there are any more visitors. I would not wish to turn them away even now."
  2503.
  2504. Cactus#6981 [28-May-17 01:20 AM]
  2505. "Goodnight Vauhan."
  2506.
  2507. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 11:21 AM]
2508. Loyd dreams of saving the plane from the dumb cycle. Obviously this dream will be reality in the future.
  2509.
  2510. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 01:52 PM]
2511. All good things must end (except for planes), and soon Loyd finds himself waking up, rubbing at his neck out of habit. He's surprised when he finds out that his neck doesn't hurt, but presumes that Elara's chair are just really comfortable.
2512. Loyd then leaves the clinic to find Vauhan's favorite sexy nurse (unless she is already up and there) so that Vauhan has something to look forward to when HE wakes up.
  2513.
  2514. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 02:01 PM]
2515. Vauhan is sleeping like a baby.
  2516.
  2517. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 02:37 PM]
2518. And I'm sure Yesab is still sleeping like a baby, too. QT.
2519. After telling Elara to wake up and care for Vauhan, Loyd goes to the tavern to find Lex. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH.
  2520.
  2521. Goatwright#9050 [28-May-17 02:38 PM]
2522. Yesab thrashes lightly in Loyd's baby carrier.
  2523.
  2524. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 02:39 PM]
  2525. Cute.
  2526.
  2527. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 07:39 PM]
2528. Vauhan, still somewhat delirious, attempts to sing an old shanty.
  2529. 1d20-1
  2530.
  2531. Mechamicus 2.0#3055 [28-May-17 07:39 PM]
  2532. @Nachtimus#1770: [17] -> **16**
  2533.
  2534. Hippocratesi#9485 [28-May-17 07:40 PM]
  2535. pretty good
  2536.
  2537. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 07:40 PM]
2538. How does such a charismatic leader have a -1 modifier?
  2539.
  2540. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 07:42 PM]
2541. Vauhan manages to sing it well enough. It's a serenade for the lonely lady caring for him.
  2542.
  2543. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 07:43 PM]
2544. Stop trying to seduce her while you're sich, Vauhan.
2545. You know what they say about doing the deed with the Dahean Flu.
  2546.
  2547. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 07:54 PM]
2548. Vauhan is not in the mindset of making good decisions.
2549. Besides he can trust Elara to be smart for him.
  2550.
  2551. Doe Heart#8349 [28-May-17 08:06 PM]
  2552. awwww
  2553.
  2554. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 11:36 PM]
2555. Vauhan is awake again, although that doesn't say much.
  2556.
  2557. Doe Heart#8349 [28-May-17 11:41 PM]
2558. Sorry are we being too loud?
  2559.
  2560. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 11:44 PM]
  2561. Not at all. 👀
2562. Also we're in separate buildings so
  2563.
  2564. Mathias#1381 [28-May-17 11:45 PM]
2565. Two separate buildings that are pretty far from each other.
  2566.
  2567. Nachtimus#1770 [28-May-17 11:45 PM]
2568. Vauhan feels like he's missing out on something, but isn't sure what.
  2569.
  2570. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 10:23 PM]
2571. Vauhan is awake, slightly more lucid than the past few days.
  2572.
  2573. Mathias#1381 [30-May-17 10:24 PM]
2574. Probably thanks to those drugs.
  2575.
  2576. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 10:24 PM]
2577. Arvio still lingers in the infirmary, reading as he watches over the old fighter.
  2578.
  2579. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 10:25 PM]
2580. Vauhan looks over to Arvio. "Oh, Elara is resting?"
  2581.
  2582. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 10:26 PM]
2583. Arvio looks up from his book, "Ah, you are awake. Elara stepped out for a moment."
  2584.
  2585. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 10:26 PM]
2586. "Has she been getting sleep?"
  2587.
  2588. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 10:26 PM]
2589. "Less than a woman of her age should be, but more than she has previously gotten"
  2590.
  2591. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 10:28 PM]
2592. "Good, good. The herbs have helped. I don't feel as... Swollen, we'll call it."
  2593.
  2594. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 10:29 PM]
2595. "... quite. You are also lucid, which is a good sign."
  2596.
  2597. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 10:30 PM]
2598. Vauhan rubs his face. "Ooooh, I forgot about that part of the Dahean flu. What have I done since I got sick?"
  2599.
  2600. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 10:31 PM]
2601. "Mostly just make sexual advances on Ashka."
  2602.
  2603. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 10:31 PM]
2604. "Ah. Did she seem receptive?"
  2605.
  2606. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 10:31 PM]
  2607. "Not particualarly"
2608. "Though she didn't beat you, so take that as you will."
  2609.
  2610. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 10:33 PM]
  2611. "Still a chance then. That's good."
  2612. "Is that it?"
  2613.
  2614. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 10:34 PM]
2615. "You said a few things. Nothing of import."
  2616. "Except..."
  2617. "No, nothing important."
  2618.
  2619. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 10:35 PM]
2620. "Don't hold your tongue, tell me. I'm out of the fog."
  2621.
  2622. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 10:36 PM]
2623. "You really care about her."
  2624.
  2625. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 10:38 PM]
2626. "Elara? Of course I would."
  2627.
  2628. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 10:38 PM]
2629. "It was quite sweet, you spent a whole night fretting that spending time with her would distract her from her work."
  2630.
  2631. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 10:43 PM]
2632. "She does so much by herself. Well, used to, before you volunteered. I tried to help her, but I don't learn very quickly."
  2633.
  2634. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 10:44 PM]
2635. "Healing a fairly complicated art, no one can be expected to pick it up quickly."
2636. "She does overwork herself, I've noticed."
2637. "I'm glad I can ease some of that burden."
  2638.
  2639. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 10:45 PM]
2640. "I'm surprised they haven't sent more healers here yet."
  2641.
  2642. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 10:48 PM]
2643. "We could certainly use more."
2644. "The nation that funds this settlement, they are in war yes? That could be why there is only Elara here."
  2645.
  2646. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 10:51 PM]
2647. "Mm, yes, the war with the Scythians. Were you aware that we were under siege at some point in this settlement's history?"
  2648.
  2649. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 10:51 PM]
  2650. "I was not aware."
  2651.
  2652. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 10:54 PM]
2653. "It was a difficult time. The dragons and the kobolds helped us push them back. I slew the commander, although the little spriteling did blind him just before the end of the fight."
2654. "The armor I wear was his, and I wear it in his memory, and the good death that was stolen from him."
  2655.
  2656. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 10:56 PM]
2657. "That's quite amazing. How long ago was this?"
  2658.
  2659. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 10:56 PM]
  2660. "Months, I believe."
  2661.
  2662. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 11:00 PM]
2663. "Do you not worry they will return with stronger forces?"
  2664.
  2665. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 11:02 PM]
2666. Vauhan starts to say something before he falls into a mumble, but catches himself. "Sorry. If I recall, there were no survivors on their side. Fire magic is quite good at finding cowards."
  2667.
  2668. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 11:03 PM]
2669. Arvio gives his a smile that says, in not so many words, that what he just said was terrifying.
  2670. "Quite."
  2671.
  2672. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 11:05 PM]
2673. "I should know, I've seen it used for, against, and on me."
2674. "But I don't have to tell you. You see my scars."
  2675.
  2676. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 11:07 PM]
2677. "You have quite the assortment"
  2678.
  2679. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 11:09 PM]
2680. "I remember every battle which caused them, as well. Scars are the history scrolls for a soldier."
  2681.
  2682. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 11:10 PM]
  2683. "You've always been a warror then?"
  2684.
  2685. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 11:13 PM]
2686. "My occupation was decided by my birth. My mother was a warrior, so I was to be a warrior as well."
  2687.
  2688. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 11:13 PM]
2689. "Is it that way for all children, boys and girls?"
  2690.
  2691. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 11:16 PM]
2692. "Where I am from, yes. On birth, a child is checked for defects. If they are found to be well, the midwives care for them until they can eat solid foods. Then their training begins."
  2693.
  2694. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 11:18 PM]
2695. "Right... [Defects]. So there is no separation of duties by gender then?""
  2696.
  2697. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 11:19 PM]
2698. Vauhan shakes his head. "I have seen in Parthia so few male midwives, so few female soldiers. It was surprising to me when I first came here that people chose their careers."
  2699.
  2700. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 11:20 PM]
2701. "It was suprising to me when I came here and found male soldiers."
  2702.
  2703. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 11:21 PM]
2704. "Mm. You too are a stranger to these lands. It never goes away, you know? That feeling?"
  2705.
  2706. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 11:22 PM]
2707. "Quite, I suspect you have it a little easier than myself. After all, you look like you belong at least."
2708. "This settlement does not mind my apperance though, well... it stays at gawking at the very worst."
  2709.
  2710. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 11:25 PM]
2711. "The people here are very accepting of the strange. That is something I am glad is not like how it is at home
  2712.
  2713. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 11:26 PM]
2714. "That we can heartily agree on then. This settlement could never happen in Ilissu"
  2715.
  2716. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 11:28 PM]
2717. "No, not in the Shattered Isles, either."
  2718.
  2719. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 11:30 PM]
2720. Arvio cocks his head at Vauhan, "You said you followed Gorum, yes?"
  2721.
  2722. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 11:31 PM]
  2723. "Yes, I do."
  2724.
  2725. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 11:32 PM]
2726. "Do you mind if I ask you a philsophical question. I have so few oppertunities to interact with those of... differing faiths."
  2727.
  2728. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 11:33 PM]
2729. "I am no priest, but if you wish to, go ahead."
  2730.
  2731. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 11:34 PM]
2732. "Gorum, from my understanding, is the god of war itself, yes?"
  2733.
  2734. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 11:37 PM]
2735. "In a way. Like flies follow stink, battles follow wars. Gorum is a god of battle more than war."
  2736.
  2737. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 11:38 PM]
2738. "That being said, is there ever a point where the veneration of him can ... become innapropriate?"
2739. "Can one have *too much* battle?"
2740. "Is it possible to be both accepting of peace and a follower of Gorum?"
  2741.
  2742. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 11:41 PM]
2743. "Peace and battle are sides of a coin. In peace, warriors are trained, to prepare for battle. In battle, warriors fight to end the battle, and cause peace."
2744. "Not even the strongest warrior is always at battle, or they would die foolishly. Here I lie, swollen and ill, not in a battle. But I must rest, to battle this illness."
  2745.
  2746. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 11:45 PM]
2747. Arvio taps his fingers on the cover of his book nose turned up in thought.
2748. "If - perhaps, someone spends their entire life fighting for the sake of fighting. That is just as valid to Gorum as a man like you correct? Gorum does not care so long as their is battle, yes?"
  2749.
  2750. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 11:51 PM]
2751. "The purpose of battle hardly matters in his eyes, that is correct. But a man who fights to fight is more beloved by him than one who fights to protect. I end fights. They would start them."
  2752.
  2753. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 11:53 PM]
2754. "So, and maybe this is the way I intended to word this all along. You worship Gorum because his teachings benefit you and make you more able to protect. Even if Gorum himself is destructive, you can still gain from following him."
  2755.
  2756. Nachtimus#1770 [30-May-17 11:56 PM]
2757. "Because I myself am destructive. When I kill a man, I wound his community to bolster mine. When I kill an animal, their children are left alone. For every life I save, I damn more. It is the gurkatcha of a soldier."
2758. "But I do it all because the alternative is to let those I love be slain by someone less willing to hesitate."
  2759.
  2760. Cactus#6981 [30-May-17 11:59 PM]
2761. Arvio absentmindedly scratches at the binding of his book, contemplating what he has heard.
  2762.
  2763. "That is well put."
  2764.
  2765. Cactus#6981 [31-May-17 12:00 AM]
2766. "Thank you for satisfying my curiosity."
  2767.
  2768. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 12:04 AM]
2769. "They are not my words. The training of a soldier begins with indoctrination. That is the word, yes? Words forced into my head, so that I never forgot the nature of a warrior is that of fire. Destroy the town, cook the meat, close the wound."
  2770.
  2771. Cactus#6981 [31-May-17 12:07 AM]
2772. "[I pity you fighter. Stripping away one's choice is abmomitable. I will never do the same, mark my words.]"
  2773.
  2774. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 12:10 AM]
2775. "Why must people around me insist on speaking languages I don't understand?" Vauhan complains to no one in particular.
  2776.
  2777. Mathias#1381 [31-May-17 12:10 AM]
2778. High Fortriu is best Fortriu.
  2779.
  2780. Cactus#6981 [31-May-17 12:10 AM]
2781. "Excuse me, I was quoting the third skin."
2782. "Mother does not birth a child without purpose. All have their place, all have their talents, and mother will guide them to their destinies."
2783. "It does not sound as good in your tounges."
  2784.
  2785. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 12:14 AM]
2786. "Mm," is all Vauhan has to say about that.
  2787.
  2788. Cactus#6981 [31-May-17 12:15 AM]
2789. Arvio clears his throat, "So, have you pondered how the assault on the lich will go yet?"
  2790.
  2791. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 12:16 AM]
2792. "I haven't. Smarter people, more magical people, than I are in charge of that."
  2793.
  2794. Cactus#6981 [31-May-17 12:17 AM]
2795. "A tactical mind surley would be of use here."
  2796.
  2797. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 12:18 AM]
2798. "A shame I know few tactics other than overwhelming with superior force."
  2799.
  2800. Cactus#6981 [31-May-17 12:20 AM]
  2801. Arvio shrugs.
  2802.
  2803. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 12:21 AM]
2804. "Wyatt is a commander,I would check with him, were I not bedridden."
  2805.
  2806. Cactus#6981 [31-May-17 12:22 AM]
2807. "I am sure he has better things to do then bother with my questions."
  2808.
  2809. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 12:23 AM]
2810. "I would argue otherwise. The threat of the tomb isn't one that can be ignored."
  2811.
  2812. Cactus#6981 [31-May-17 12:25 AM]
2813. "I never would suggest otherwise, I only meant that I am not the one to be fretting over such things."
2814. "Ruman insists that I worry less, and I am concerned if he catches wind of me asking after Wyatt he will peck an eye out."
  2815.
  2816. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 12:26 AM]
2817. "The bird you mentioned in the bathhouse?"
  2818.
  2819. Cactus#6981 [31-May-17 12:27 AM]
  2820. "Yes, the very one."
  2821.
  2822. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 12:30 AM]
2823. "I would disagree with your bird, but he knows you better than I could."
  2824.
  2825. Cactus#6981 [31-May-17 12:32 AM]
2826. "Oh, underneath my calm veneer I am quite nervous by nature. I care too much... or at least that is what I'm told"
  2827.
  2828. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 12:34 AM]
2829. "Hardly such a thing as caring too much, but there is caring about the wrong things."
  2830.
  2831. Cactus#6981 [31-May-17 12:34 AM]
2832. "I am quite sensitive, believe it or not."
2833. "Very thin skin I think the saying goes."
  2834.
  2835. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 12:35 AM]
2836. "Mm. I can't very much help that."
2837. Vauhan appears woozy and slumps back to sleep.
  2838.
  2839. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 05:11 PM]
2840. And after an unknowable amount of time, he wakes again.
  2841.
  2842. Rainglove#0072 [31-May-17 05:12 PM]
  2843. He's s till in the clinic?
  2844.
  2845. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 05:13 PM]
2846. He hasn't been let out yet, although by now he might be good to go.
  2847.
  2848. Rainglove#0072 [31-May-17 05:18 PM]
2849. Elara, seeing Vauhan wake up, sweeps over and starts checking to make sure he's well and truly recovered. "Morning. Feeling better?"
  2850.
  2851. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 05:20 PM]
2852. He is as well as can be. "Yes, I think I am. Have you been sleeping?"
  2853.
  2854. Rainglove#0072 [31-May-17 05:23 PM]
2855. She nods a few times, standing up and running a hand back through her hair. "Yes, after Loyd came through. Looks like you're all fixed up, finally. You can go whenever you feel ready."
  2856.
  2857. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 05:27 PM]
2858. Vauhan sits up from the bed. "I'm ready, but I don't want to leave unless you're coming with me. I must make up for all the hours you spent on me somehow."
  2859.
  2860. Rainglove#0072 [31-May-17 05:28 PM]
2861. She plants her hands on her hips and gives him a look.
2862. Behind her, the clinic looks like it's had a hurricane come through it.
  2863.
  2864. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 05:29 PM]
2865. Vauhan looks behind her. "...Ah. Let me help, then."
  2866.
  2867. Rainglove#0072 [31-May-17 05:33 PM]
2868. She looks at him for another few seconds, then turns on her heel and gets to work sorting out the dumpster fire that is her clinic. Partially used alchemical ingredients, tools, strips of cloth, potions... The list goes on.
  2869.
  2870. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 05:36 PM]
2871. Vauhan stands, putting his rags for clothes back on, and, as if there were any other way to celebrate his return to health, gets to work. "I didn't know you used this much on me."
  2872.
  2873. Rainglove#0072 [31-May-17 05:38 PM]
2874. "You were a mess. And others came through with more minor illnesses, I haven't had the time to clean up from those yet either."
2875. "Mostly you, though. You should thank that dragon that gave you those herbs, did you more good than any of my mixtures."
2876. She just sort of rattles off all of this absentmindedly while she's disposing of pretty much everything on all of her shelves. Gotta get rid of all the old stuff, and then replace it with new stuff.
  2877.
  2878. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 05:42 PM]
2879. "I will, if I ever figure out which did it. I'm... I'm sorry I fell ill. I did not know the bad air of the Dahean flu hung over me, waiting for weakness."
  2880.
  2881. Rainglove#0072 [31-May-17 05:43 PM]
2882. "You'd have to ask Loyd. And it's not your fault." She looks over at him while she works, emphasizing her point. "An illness like that might have killed a lesser man, you've nothing to apologize for."
  2883.
  2884. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 05:48 PM]
2885. "Yes, I've seen what it can do. Horrible flu. I never thought it would get me." He shakes his head. "But it's over now. I still wish to repay you, but the mess comes first."
  2886.
  2887. Mathias#1381 [31-May-17 05:52 PM]
2888. Bad news, couple: Loyd is making an appearance. Worse news, couple: He doesn't immediately leave. "Elara, can you give Vauhan this when he's- Oh, he's already awake." Loyd says as he comes into the clinic. Ever comfortable in his heterosexuality, he glances over Vauhan. "And he put down the tent, too. Looks like he'll be fine."
  2889.
  2890. Rainglove#0072 [31-May-17 05:52 PM]
2891. "I appreciate the offer, but I don't need payment. You should know that by now."
2892. She gives a little nod to Loyd
2893. Loyd, the clinic looks like a bomb went off
  2894.
  2895. Mathias#1381 [31-May-17 05:53 PM]
2896. Looks better than his hole, at least.
  2897.
  2898. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 05:54 PM]
2899. "You know my offer isn't gold," he says before turning to Loyd. "Ah, good, you're here. Who was the dragon which provided those herbs?"
  2900.
  2901. Mathias#1381 [31-May-17 05:58 PM]
2902. "Goldie Locks. Caelia. Anyway, you got time later? I want to get everyone at the tavern for a dinner and a battle plan discussion later."
  2903.
  2904. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 05:59 PM]
2905. Vauhan looks to Elara. "After I help clean up, I'll be available."
  2906.
  2907. Mathias#1381 [31-May-17 06:00 PM]
2908. "It's breakfast time, Vauhan. You have plenty of time to be with Elara, don't worry." Loyd then turns to Elara. "Sorry, but I want to steal your man at dinner time. It's important."
  2909.
  2910. Rainglove#0072 [31-May-17 06:02 PM]
  2911. She just nods.
  2912.
  2913. Mathias#1381 [31-May-17 06:04 PM]
2914. Jeez, could at least fight for your man, Elara. You gonna marry him during the time skip, anyway. "I'd offer to help you two with... all of this, but..." Loyd looks to Vauhan, and then to Elara. "I... left my campfire on. Yes. Sorry. Tavern at dinner time, Vauhan. Remember!" And then Loyd leaves the two lovers be to clean up the clinic.
  2915. Romantically.
  2916.
  2917. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 06:05 PM]
2918. Vauhan chuckles. "'Left his campfire on.' He'll burn a building down with a memory like that."
  2919.
  2920. Rainglove#0072 [31-May-17 06:07 PM]
2921. She just works for a few seconds before responding. "Loyd trying to drag you into another fight that'll leave you half dead?"
  2922.
  2923. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 06:09 PM]
  2924. "Half at the least."
  2925.
  2926. Rainglove#0072 [31-May-17 06:14 PM]
2927. She sighs. "Try to be more careful this time? You were almost in two pieces last time you came back."
  2928.
  2929. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 06:17 PM]
2930. "I will be. This lich is not like anything else we've fought."
2931. "And I'd like my time with you to be as long as can be."
  2932.
  2933. Rainglove#0072 [31-May-17 06:21 PM]
2934. "Mmm." Not the most approving sound, but she's at least mollified for now.
  2935.
  2936. Mathias#1381 [31-May-17 06:21 PM]
2937. Seduce her while you can, Vauhan.
  2938.
  2939. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 06:23 PM]
2940. "You don't like that I fight, do you?"
  2941.
  2942. Rainglove#0072 [31-May-17 06:26 PM]
2943. "It's... What you do. And it's for a good reason. But I worry."
  2944.
  2945. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 06:49 PM]
2946. Vauhan holds Elara. "I'll be careful. But know that if I die, I'll die thinking of you." Surprise, he's bad at making people feel better.
  2947.
  2948. Mathias#1381 [31-May-17 06:50 PM]
2949. Does Vauhan have 8 charisma? That is something someone with 8 charisma would say.
  2950.
  2951. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 06:50 PM]
  2952. He does, actually.
  2953.
  2954. Mathias#1381 [31-May-17 06:51 PM]
2955. Loyd understands the pains of being 8 charisma.
  2956.
  2957. Rainglove#0072 [31-May-17 09:48 PM]
2958. "That's actually kind of sweet?" Elara looks up at him. "But I'd prefer if you just didn't die. Yesab went down last time, it could easily be you next."
  2959.
  2960. Nachtimus#1770 [31-May-17 10:02 PM]
2961. "I'll come back. I promise." Vauhan lets go of Elara to get back to work.
  2962.
  2963. Nachtimus#1770 [01-Jun-17 09:04 PM]
2964. How long does it take Vauhan and Elara to clean up?
  2965.
  2966. Mathias#1381 [01-Jun-17 09:09 PM]
  2967. Long enough.
  2968.
  2969. Rainglove#0072 [01-Jun-17 09:10 PM]
2970. Elara excuses him and Vauhan's good to go
  2971.
  2972. Nachtimus#1770 [01-Jun-17 09:10 PM]
2973. Vauhan hugs her before heading off to the tavern.

  3408.
  3409. Cactus#6981 [14-Jun-17 06:22 PM]
  3410. Here's a dilemma I have
3411. Assuming I can use the tinker class
  3412. There's a few paths o can choose
3413. And I can't decide between having my big ass special bot, or focusing on smaller exploding bots
  3414.
  3415. Hippocratesi#9485 [14-Jun-17 06:23 PM]
  3416. explosions are nice
  3417.
  3418. Cactus#6981 [14-Jun-17 06:23 PM]
  3419. They are
3420. It's also a pretty high damage option but I'm really restricted by how many bots I have a day with that route
3421. Ideally I could do 4d6 a round but only three times a day at level 1
  3422.
  3423. Soren#1962 [14-Jun-17 06:25 PM]
3424. Cactus, the big thing to think about
3425. What is cooler to you and seems more fun
  3426.
  3427. Cactus#6981 [14-Jun-17 06:26 PM]
3428. They both seem just as fun

  3572. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 07:58 PM]
3573. Long deep gouges cross from one side of his stomach to the other, not unlike an injury consistant with mauling.
  3574.
  3575. Soren#1962 [23-Jun-17 07:58 PM]
  3576. 1d20+7 heal
  3577.
  3578. Mechamicus 2.0#3055 [23-Jun-17 07:58 PM]
  3579. @Soren#1962: "heal": [13] -> **20**
  3580.
  3581. Soren#1962 [23-Jun-17 07:58 PM]
3582. "Did you leave the caves and venture into the wild?"
  3583.
  3584. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 07:59 PM]
3585. "I .. was in front of Edgar's store - yesterday? It had to have been. I don't understand...."
  3586.
  3587. Soren#1962 [23-Jun-17 08:00 PM]
3588. Lex places a paw on the wound lightly and surges positive energy through Arvio.
  3589. "Yes?"
  3590.
  3591. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 08:01 PM]
3592. Arvio looks around the room, still not entirely sure what's going on.
  3593.
  3594. Soren#1962 [23-Jun-17 08:01 PM]
3595. "Take it slow, Arvio. It is okay. You are safe."
  3596.
  3597. Rainglove#0072 [23-Jun-17 08:01 PM]
3598. Elara just sorta steeeps on back
  3599. go for it lex
  3600.
  3601. Soren#1962 [23-Jun-17 08:02 PM]
3602. Lex sits next to him and takes his paw in his.
  3603.
  3604. Mathias#1381 [23-Jun-17 08:02 PM]
3605. Elara should go check on Vauhan. Just in case. We already got two lich killers getting sick, after all.
  3606.
  3607. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 08:03 PM]
3608. Arvio's hand is both sweaty and still just a little moist from his blood.
  3609.
  3610. Soren#1962 [23-Jun-17 08:04 PM]
  3611. Lex does not care.
  3612.
  3613. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 08:04 PM]
  3614. "I don't understand, Lex."
  3615.
  3616. Soren#1962 [23-Jun-17 08:04 PM]
3617. "That is okay. You are safe, that is what matters."
3618. "Ashka. Can you check in front of Edgar's for any signs of a wild animal?"
  3619.
  3620. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 08:04 PM]
3621. "I can't remember, but something important happend."
3622. "Something that I have to remember."
  3623.
  3624. Doe Heart#8349 [23-Jun-17 08:05 PM]
3625. Ashka nods. She doesn't wanna fuck be here. Out she goes!
  3626.
  3627. Soren#1962 [23-Jun-17 08:05 PM]
3628. "Arvio, I can help with that I believe."
3629. "Edgar has before used magic to allow him and I to share a memory. To view something from the past."
  3630.
  3631. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 08:08 PM]
  3632. "I... yes."
3633. "I need to do something."
  3634.
  3635. Soren#1962 [23-Jun-17 08:08 PM]
3636. "Elara, will you keep Arvio safe while I go get a potion?"
  3637.
  3638. Rainglove#0072 [23-Jun-17 08:08 PM]
  3639. "I'll be here."
  3640.
  3641. Soren#1962 [23-Jun-17 08:08 PM]
3642. "You stay here, Arvio. I may have healed the wound, but I do not wish you to leave the clinic until this is sorted out."
3643. Lex squeezes his paw a little and then leavet to Edgar's, staying in this chat because we don't need another one for this stuff.
  3644.
  3645. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 08:10 PM]
3646. "What... what was it...." he mutters to himself, clearly not all there still.
  3647.
  3648. Soren#1962 [23-Jun-17 08:10 PM]
3649. Lex waves a little to Edgar. "Dearest. I have much I have to discuss with you. But later, there are pressing matters. I require a potion of memory sharing. Arvio was mauled by a strange creature in front of your shop as far as he can tell but the memory is fuzzy. I wish to use a potion to draw this out and see for myself what happened."
3650. Lex returns with potion and sits down next to Arvio again.
3651. "Here, take this. It will let us know what is happening."
  3652.
  3653. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 08:12 PM]
3654. "Yes, yes. What is happening."
  3655. He drinks.
  3656.
  3657. Soren#1962 [23-Jun-17 08:14 PM]
  3658. What do we see?
  3659.
  3660. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 08:25 PM]
3661. Arvio is leaving Edgar's shop. With a bag in hand he walks toward the fireplace Ruman flying around just above him. He is in a cheerful mood, humming along as he carries the gold earned from the spoils of the lich to him home to divy out for the rest of the group. A short trip later and he has deposited the gold in his room. Ruman complains. He is hungry. His complaining can't bring Arvio's spirit down though.
  3662.
3663. Arvio promises to get him some meat from the Tavern, and so they go. Arvio, just barely from the corner of his eye thinks he sees a figure standing near the gateway to the dead city. In just a moment it is gone however. Ignoring the bird's squealing, he heads over to investigate. Near the entranceway he sees the figure again, further into the city. Throughly unnerved, Arvio draws his gun and follows.
  3664.
3665. Him and the figure keep at this for a time. The figure being just within his vision and Arvio pursing deeper into the city. Eventually, Arvio sees this *person* enter a building. The diligent gnoll follows it. He reaches toward the handle of the door and his memories of events promptly cut out.
  3666.
  3667. Soren#1962 [23-Jun-17 08:29 PM]
  3668. "It just ends there."
3669. "I think maybe I should investigate that building."
  3670.
  3671. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 08:30 PM]
3672. "I have to do something?"
  3673. "I came back to...."
  3674. "Get something"
  3675.
  3676. Soren#1962 [23-Jun-17 08:30 PM]
3677. "Was it a dragon that did this to you?"
  3678.
  3679. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 08:30 PM]
3680. "No talons, it came from inside."
  3681. "Green eyes. Bright green."
3682. A look of realization dawns on Arvio, "THE WATER. I NEEDED THE WATER!"
  3683.
  3684. Rainglove#0072 [23-Jun-17 08:33 PM]
3685. Elara just kinda watches all of this.
  3686.
  3687. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 08:33 PM]
3688. "I have to find Edgar"
3689. Arvio pushes off the bed and stumbles toward the door.
  3690.
  3691. Soren#1962 [23-Jun-17 08:35 PM]
3692. Lex swiftly moves to the door and stops Arvio.
3693. "Hold on there, Arvio. You are in no state to do this alone. Just calm down, and we will figure this out. Together. Lean on me."
3694. Lex puts an arm around his waist.
  3695.
  3696. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 08:36 PM]
3697. "Edgar, take me to him, I don't care how."
  3698.
  3699. Soren#1962 [23-Jun-17 08:39 PM]
3700. Lex picks Arvio up gently and heads back to Edgar's.
  3701.
  3702. Rainglove#0072 [23-Jun-17 08:41 PM]
3703. Arvio is bridal carried to Edgar's shop
  3704. Edgar looks up
  3705. "Hi."
  3706.
  3707. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 08:42 PM]
  3708. "Unholy water."
3709. "Curse water, whatever you call it."
  3710. "I need it."
  3711.
  3712. Rainglove#0072 [23-Jun-17 08:43 PM]
3713. Edgar looks at Arvio for a minute
  3714. He looks at Lex
  3715.
  3716. Soren#1962 [23-Jun-17 08:43 PM]
  3717. Lex shrugs.
3718. "I am only assisting him so he does not die."
  3719.
  3720. Rainglove#0072 [23-Jun-17 08:43 PM]
  3721. "That's encouraging."
  3722.
  3723. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 08:44 PM]
3724. "And towels. A basket. A tub perhaps."
  3725.
  3726. Rainglove#0072 [23-Jun-17 08:44 PM]
  3727. Edgar just
3728. Goes and gets the things
3729. And returns a minute later with your vial of demon water and other supplies
  3730.
  3731. Mathias#1381 [23-Jun-17 08:45 PM]
3732. All for birthing a demon baby.
  3733.
  3734. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 08:45 PM]
3735. "Thank you... I needed these. I... think."
3736. "I think I may need more, can you prepare a wand to create more of this water for later."
3737. Less of as a question and more of as a command.
3738. "Lex, take me to the city."
  3739.
  3740. Soren#1962 [23-Jun-17 08:46 PM]
3741. "Can you explain what is happening, first?"
  3742.
  3743. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 08:47 PM]
  3744. "No. I can't but I needed these. I needed them desperatley."
3745. "I have never been more sure of something in my entire life."
  3746.
  3747. Soren#1962 [23-Jun-17 08:49 PM]
3748. "I will trust you on this, but we need to be cautious." Lex once again picks Arvio up and starts to take him where he needs to go.
  3749.
  3750. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 08:49 PM]
  3751. "Thank you Lex."
3752. "It had such beautiful eyes...."
  3753.
  3754. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 09:01 PM]
3755. Somewhere Arvio and Lex are roaming around the tomb.
  3756.
  3757. Soren#1962 [23-Jun-17 09:03 PM]
3758. Lex has, of course, cast hide from undead.
  3759.
  3760. Mathias#1381 [23-Jun-17 09:03 PM]
3761. Loyd and Ashka are in front of the house Arvio got attacked in in #caves if you want to join, kids.
  3762.
  3763. Cactus#6981 [23-Jun-17 09:03 PM]
3764. Despite there being a actual line of blood, Arvio is hardly any help finding this place
  3765.
  3766. Nachtimus#1770 [24-Jun-17 09:28 PM]
3767. Vauhan rests in his tent in the encampment, mentally planning out his day. Training the soldiers, gathering lumber for the siege weapons, that sort of thing.
  3768.
  3769. Rainglove#0072 [24-Jun-17 09:37 PM]
3770. Vauhan, for the moment things are quiet. The people of the Hearth are still waking up, preparing for their day. All is quiet, until very suddenly you are transported out of your tent and into blinding sunlight, suddenly fully armed and armoured. Your ears are assaulted by the roar of battle, your eyes by the glare of the midday sun. You are in the center of a hurricane of steel and blood. You're given only the briefest of moments to take in your surroundings and try to orient yourself. To your left, a man is cut down by a monster twice his size. To your right, a towering creature of steel lunges at you, a massive suit of plate, and you manage to barely catch it on your shields, narrowly keeping it from crushing you.
3771. A pair of burning eyes stare at you from beneath its helm. The battle around you suddenly seems unimportant. All that matters is this creature.
  3772.
  3773. Nachtimus#1770 [24-Jun-17 09:44 PM]
3774. Vauhan's mind doesn't have time to think about the situation right now, it's in survival mode now. He bashes at the giant, attempting to push him back with every successful hit.
  3775.
  3776. Rainglove#0072 [24-Jun-17 09:53 PM]
3777. The armor doesn't seem to have expected you to hit back, and you succeed in driving it back, if only for a step or two. You manage to land a single solid hit, slipping a shield under its guard and cracking it in the hip, before it's back on you. You have a moment to notice how agile it is before it leaps back onto you, crashing against your guard and driving you almost to the ground just from the sheer force of its impact.
  3778.
  3779. Nachtimus#1770 [24-Jun-17 10:03 PM]
3780. Vauhan cries out as his legs nearly buckle, but he doesn't bow. Rather, he, at the sight of this beast of a being, gives into his battlelust. "I won't break! Not to an army! Not to a lich! Not even to *you!*" he snarls, punctuating each sentence with a slam, each more reckless, but more damaging than the last.
  3781.
  3782. Rainglove#0072 [24-Jun-17 10:12 PM]
3783. The herald is driven back one step, and then two beneath Vauhan's sudden onslaught. Your first strike surprises it, and it barely blocks your second, but it deflects the rest of your barrage with greater and greater ease. It catches your shield mid-punch, and for a moment the battle stops. The two of you lock eyes for a moment, and it gives you a single, slight nod of acknowledgement.
3784. And then the herald steps forward and delivers a single, firm strike to your breastplate. The impact is enough to throw you off your feet, and for a moment your vision blurs. When you recover, you're on your back in your tent. You feel a power burning in your chest, something new but not at all unpleasant.
  3785.
  3786. Nachtimus#1770 [24-Jun-17 10:18 PM]
3787. Vauhan rises with a shout, looking around for the being who fought so well. Upon not seeing anything inside the tent, Vauhan, still blinded by rage, charges through the side of his tent, crashing through some of his furniture, and ripping/tearing through the tent.
  3788.
  3789. Rainglove#0072 [24-Jun-17 10:19 PM]
3790. A spearman ducks out of Vauhan's way as he comes barrelling out of the side of his tent.
  3791.
  3792. Mathias#1381 [24-Jun-17 10:20 PM]
  3793. Poor spearman.
  3794.
  3795. Nachtimus#1770 [24-Jun-17 10:22 PM]
3796. "Where is it?!" he bellows. "Wh... Uh." Vauhan looks around long enough to realize he's not in a battlefield, and his rage subsides. "Oh." He looks back to his tent, and the spearman who ducked out of the way. "Oh... Oh." He offers help to the poor spearman.
  3797.
  3798. Rainglove#0072 [24-Jun-17 10:23 PM]
3799. The spearman is lifted. Vauhan is fatigued. "Are you uh... Everything alright sir?"
  3800.
  3801. Nachtimus#1770 [24-Jun-17 10:26 PM]
3802. Vauhan pants as he tries to catch his breath. "Y-Yes. I, uh, I don't know what came over me. Sorry about that."
  3803.
  3804. Rainglove#0072 [24-Jun-17 10:27 PM]
3805. The spearman just sorta nods. "Of course. Do you need help cleaning up?" He nods at your now mostly destroyed tent.
  3806.
  3807. Nachtimus#1770 [24-Jun-17 10:28 PM]
3808. "No, it was my handiwork. I will clean it alone. Inform the others today's training will be to spar with each other while I handle this."
  3809.
  3810. Rainglove#0072 [24-Jun-17 10:30 PM]
3811. He nods and leaves you to your cleaning
  3812.
  3813. Nachtimus#1770 [24-Jun-17 10:33 PM]
3814. Vauhan grumbles as his breathing normalizes, "Word's gonna spread that I'm losing my mind, I swear it." He goes through the process of cleaning up, and, as need be, list what needs to be purchased from Edgar to replace because of an old man's rampage.
  3815.
  3816. Soren#1962 [01-Jul-17 09:51 PM]
3817. Lex heads to Elara's clinic, "Elara, I wish to speak with you, if you have a moment."
  3818.
  3819. Rainglove#0072 [01-Jul-17 09:53 PM]
3820. Elara looks back from shelf-stocking. "Yes?"
  3821.
  3822. Soren#1962 [01-Jul-17 09:54 PM]
3823. "I wish for you to take a break. Go out and enjoy yourself. Please, let me tend to the clinic for a day. The others...Vauhan, especially, want to spend time with you. Actual time with you, not while you are here tending to wounds."
3824. "I am a more than capable healer, I can handle taking care of this for a time if it means you having a rest. You being able to relax and spend time with someone you care about, and maybe get to know the others more. They are at the tavern currently."
3825. "I understand what it is like to thrust yourself so much into your work. But you need time for yourself, as well. For others."
3826. "In a more personal way. Not as a healer. But as a person."
  3827.
  3828. Rainglove#0072 [01-Jul-17 09:56 PM]
3829. Elara's already out the door by the time you say where everyone's at. "I'll be back tomorrow morning thanks bye"
  3830.
  3831. Hippocratesi#9485 [01-Jul-17 09:57 PM]
  3832. join us elara
  3833.
  3834. Soren#1962 [01-Jul-17 09:59 PM]
3835. "That was easier than I thought."
3836. Lex takes stock of the shelves and looks around the clinic, tidying up.
  3837.
  3838. Rainglove#0072 [01-Jul-17 09:59 PM]
3839. The clinic's in pretty good shape already
