  1. You probably don't know me, but I'm a veteran from back when mope.io was still young it was completely different. During these times the developer was clickstan, who listened to the community and updated with healthy, good updates, that the community themselves suggested. Back in this time posts on reddit were healthy, well written, and impactful in a good way. For a really long time the mope.io reddit was peaceful, and there even was a discord. A discord that I wish I could still call home if it existed. It was a community to me and many others. The discord was a great place to chat with other mope.io players, make friends, and generally it was a great place. The reddit was the same. At this time the moderators were active, they made good posts, not just posts about staff related things and updates. There were weekly contests, that lasted around a week, good posts, and these contests were usually art competitions, mope.io story competitions, and it interacted with the community.
  2.
  3. Meanwhile the discord was also a healthy community, people chatted, there were open lobbies where members of the community would all join the same mope.io game server, the youtubers for mope.io would upload regularly and with good content, etc.
  4.
  5. But then disaster struck the discord. Around multiple months into its existence a raid occurred that brought it down to its knees. Thousands, and I mean thousands, around 2000 members, were kicked from the server. Most of them never joined back. It went from almost three thousand members to only a few hundred in a really short amount of time. To find out who the raider was, I joined the investigation team to find out who he was. I slowly learned the staff already knew and were hiding it from me (I was the only non-staff member there) and then around a week later they promoted the raider as staff! No, not just a typical staff, ADMIN!
  6.
  7. This shocked me.
  8. Of course, the reddit was still doing well, it was healthy good posts, not much changed at all.
  9. But the discord changed even more soon afterwards. Again, the staff became increasingly corrupt and it wasn’t the same. The community in the discord was falling apart, multiple people tried to create new servers, and there were unjust bans, random promotions, people being inactive, etc. So, with a friend of mine (I won’t mention his name) I infiltrated the servers by managing multiple times to trick them into giving me staff by pretending to be a staffs alt. And using this I found out a lot of information. Loads of, wastebaskets, of corruption.
  10. The discord fell into a dark age around this time. No one was active, for weeks no one even said a word in the chat, and it seemed to die. This was around the time I became inactive also. I wouldn’t be active on discord for several months. This included reddit.
  11.
  12. This was also around the time that clickstan (The original creator of the game) said he would promote a person by the name of KOA to the dev soon. He would program most of the game. This outraged and confused multiple people. One of the reasons was because he was a dev of a mope.io mod pack, called mope x. Many people didn’t like the mod packs because they considered it cheating, and it was, since it allowed people to detect where predators are, etc.
  13. It wasn't liked to such a extent that any evidence someone USED a modpack in the game through reddit posts would make the person banned for a certain amount of time to perm, I don't remember. Another maker of a modpack for mope.io was someone named TD teddybear mods. He was more popular, but also created cheats for the game, so people didn't like him as much either. KOA and Teddy bear got into multiple flame wars and crazy arguments in the comments of mope.io subreddit posts, their own posts, etc. Because many people supported teddybear and KOA, multiple others, plus neutral people commenting on how stupid the arguments were, were commenting on the posts and creating flame wars. MULTIPLE flame wars. This was insane. Many active and well respected members of the community left at this time, and it caused so many problems. The reddit seemed to collapse too.
  14.
  15. So, I was inactive for several months, up to four months I think. And when I came back it was completely different. The discord seemed to improve, and I wasn't really surprised since I was active for one more month after it went inactive, and during that time it fixed itself. But it REALLY changed. And many people from the discords golden age returned. It was a great time, the mope.io discord was in a second golden age.
  16. At this time I didn’t have much information about the reddit, since I was a lot more active on discord, and I was active on reddit LONG before I even joined discord, but I didn’t include that in the start of it did i? Sorry. Well during the time before I joined the discord, which was still alive at this time, and by what I’ve heard from veterans who have been around longer than me was a great place at this time, during this time the reddit was thriving. It was in the first golden age, and it was great. No problems, and at this time during the first golden age mope.io was actually RISING. This was the time when it was becoming popular, and updates flew in. after the updates stopped flowing in during the golden age updates happened shorter but were always worth the time.
  17. Now, back to what reddit was like after I was inactive for the first time
  18.
  19. I don't have much information about this time, since I was active more on discord at this time, but every time I checked in, or posted or commented, it seemed healthy, and happy. At one point I tried to be more active on reddit too, and that went well but lasted for a short time. Because at this time I started to fade into inactivity again in general.
  20. But reddit recovered, and seemed to be doing well.
  21. At this time KOA was already co-developer, but clickstan was still the main one.
  22. Also, during the time of drama between KOA and teddy bear in the end KOA said he is sorry for all the drama and promises to be a good developer and listen to the community. That promise didn't last.
  23. Discord was a great time during these times, and during the second and first golden age I have so many stories to tell. But this is a overview, if this was everything this would be a book. And by stories I mean good stories. But that was all ruined during this era. During this era of darkness.
  24.
  25. After slipping into inactivity once again, many things have changed. Four months after slipping away into inactivity I once again became active. And during this time it seems to be the worse time in mope.io history.
  26. In discord, a person named phoenix, who I’m pretty sure was a inactive staff on the reddit during the good times who got demoted because he was so inactive. Got to power and completely destroyed the old mope.io discord. It was “frozen”. Instead of deleting it he didn't give anyone permission to chat in it, and killed it. Meanwhile a “new” mope.io discord was made ruled by his friends and him, and many corrupt staff.
  27. Reddit is even worse. It has been completely taken over by 8 year olds, there close to no wholesome, good, impactful in a good way posts, there are no more contests, all the staff only post things about “updates”, and generally only news about them developing.
  28. Speaking of developing, the dev is now completely KOA! And he doesn’t listen to the community at all! Phoenix is the new official designer. The old designer, Pike, who was a great, amazing, popular, respected, active staff member who actually spoke with the community and was part of it, posting things, commenting on posts, etc. He was replaced with phoenix!
  29. The same guy who ruined the mope.io discord!
  30.
  31. KOA no longer listens to the community, so we have no say in the updates, and they end up being uncreative trash. Always something “cool”, and “shiny”, without any actual ideas. He just throws glitter at mope.io hoping he can make money off of it.
  32. Phoenix replaced the old designer, who was part of the community, and generally someone I would much rather have as designer.
  33. The discord is gone and replaced with something not even worth comparing to. It no longer has a sense of community and aliveness.
  34. And mope.io has been ruined as a whole.
  35.
  36.
  37. So my final response? My petition? Well, we need to show KOA that we will not let him control mope like that. We'll show him that if he doesn't listen to the community, why should we play his game? He cant make money off of a game if he doesn’t even listen to the community that IS it.
  38. We were part of mope.io since the beginning, we were, and still are, the community of mope.io!
  39. Most of you probably haven't been here for a long time, and joined recently, and that's why i made this! To show you what mope.io has been, could've been, and what it has become. To show that you need to save mope.io! To show what KOA held back! The future it could of been!
  40.
  41.
  42. Stop playing the game! Boycott it! This way it will have a huge lower in players and cause KOA to lose profit. If he won't listen to the community then why should he own the game? He will be forced to listen in order to keep mope.io a game many people play, in order to earn money from it! If you want to keep mope.io KOA, then appeal to those who play it! Listen to the community! We are mope.io! Without us, you are nothing! Clickstan would be nothing without us! But he listened to the community, because he understood the importance of the community! The importance of mope.io! But you didn’t.
  43.
  44. And if you still want to play mope.io, although I dont want you to and please don’t. Then use adblock.
  45.
  46. Please, save mope.io.
