  5. ABOUT DISGUISES AND YOU (or why Scout is good and you scrublets will learn):
  6. You never want to be one of those actor spies, everybody spy-checks like a little bitch anyway.
  7. No, disguises serve two purposes only:
  8.  
  9. 1. Get past sentries and be able to get healed by enemy dispensers
  10. 2. Don't immediately get noticed by distracted people
  11.  
  12. If you're SOOPERADVANCED and are trying way too hard, you can disguise as a different class ON YOUR TEAM and use that to get across the midfield. This really only works with the DR, though.

  14. * Solly, Demo, and Hoovy just slow you down, so they're out of the question. Plus they're kept track of by every single other person so you'll be killed before you know it.
  15. * Sniper's out of the question because nobody ever sees a sniper on the front lines, and if you're on the back you can't do the scope-in animation either way.
  16. * Pyros are trigger-happy bastards, so since you can't flame around like a motherfucker you'll be spy-checked to fuck.
  17. * Spy's horrible, since his hitbox matches yours, people tend to some-fucking-now spy-check you more often.
  18. * Medics are always healing somebody, plus they're tracked to fuck since it's an important team member.
  19. * Engineer's always near his stuff wrenching and spy-checking everybody that comes near, and outside his fucking autistic nest your disguise will be more obvious.

  21. Now we get to Scoot.

  23. They're fucking small, so it makes you hide easier, it also makes it harder for people to shoot you to death since his disguise is so small when compared to the acutal hitbox. However, he's the easiest disguise to pick out at a glance because a disguised Spy moves slower than a Scoot.

  25. NOTE: Just pick whatever disguise you want that doesn't slow you down, okay? It's not like you're actually fooling anyone anyway.

  31. -When the round finally starts, don't just run out like a little autist, wait for a little
  32. while for the spam for cool down, then cloak and dodge all that fucking spam.

  34. -Make sure to always decloak in a blind spot. You never wanna decloak in a really transited
  35. location, unless you're a scrub.

  37. -There's a priority for backstabs:
  38. Medic, Solly, Demo before Spy, Sniper, or Scoot
  39. Think of the players that can most damage your team, and get the backstab on them first.

  41. -Check out some videos on trickstabs and the like. These are important because they make great videos. Stairstabs are the easiest and most common. Let someone follow you up stairs, jump over them, and backstab them on your way down. Congrats. 1337 hax inbound.

  45. -Let's not leave your gun out of this. This is how you fuck up Pyros, people with no health, and Snipers using the Razordick (please laugh). Nothing's worse than having 5HP, limping back to spawn, and seeing a Spy with his dick out and a shit-eating grin on his face. Then he shoots you and you die. Spy's revolvers are exremely important weapons that are hella' easy to use, extremely effective, and often overlooked, so don't be and F2P nub and do this. Also, they fire in a straight line. Not even remotely hard to aim.

  47. -Smart enemies will notice ammo boxes and health kits disappearing. Try walking over easily-ignored dropped weapons if you can to keep your invisibility going.

  49. -Hang around sheer drops, wait for enemies to go by, drop down, and kill them.

  51. -Think about blindspots when you are playing as any other class- where aren't you looking? Where would it suck to get attacked by a Spy, because you have to concentrate elsewhere? At the end of the day the Spy is about striking when the enemy is least expecting it. If you're just following the same patterns again and again even the stupidest of enemies will cotton on eventually.

  53. -Enemy health is visible to you. As long as alltalk isn't on your speech bubble is invisible as you are whilst cloaked. Tell your team stuff. Stuff like where their Sentry is, whether they've got an uber ready, that you just killed the two guys guarding the point. That stuff is useful. Even the most incompetent Spy is being useful by sharing it.

  58. TIP: If you're spotted, make them believe you're walking in one direction, then go the opposite way.

  64. -Engis can kill you with 3 shotty blasts or basically one wrench hit since that thing crits all the fucking time.

  66. -You can use his Dispenser to heal yourself and replenish your cloak, and you an use his Teleporter to either telefrag him, or provide for an easy escape route in case you're in trouble.

  68. -Sap n' Stab - You need to be FAST ( ur 2 slo right nao ) to do dis. Simple, you sap his buildings and put the rod up his ass before he can react.

  70. -Stab n' Sap - Stab the little fucker, then strafe around the sentry in its turning direction and sap everything.

  72. -Tele n' Sap - You sap his teleporter from the entrance, then wait until he removes the sapper and use his teleporter to telefrag him. Just for safety, you might wanna go through the tele while cloaked.

  74. -Rooty tooty pointy and shooty - Get behind his dispenser, and gun him down. Then crouch, redisguise, and sap all his shit.

  80. -Backstabs are hitscan.
  81. This means that the second you click M1 to attack your backstab will strike, unlike other melees where it is on a windup.

  83. -The back is based off of shoulder positions.
  84. The way most people think that backstabs work is based off of the back and the front of the character, it is based off instead the shoulders. This is important because it gives you a larger area to work with for nailing tricky stabs.

  86. -Drop stab/Jump stab: You start on a high ground position and drop down onto the target or jump down onto the target and stab. Dropping down gives you less control but is faster, jumping down gives you more control but takes slightly longer.

  89. -Stairstab: You have an enemy run up stairs then crouch jump over his head, turn, and backstab. Requires basic knowledge of timings but can be very effective. Must be holding down.

  94. -Quickstab/Side stab: You run straight towards an enemy close enough to pass by without touching and right as you pass by each other, turn, and stab. It is very simple but will only work on oblivious players.

  96. -Matador Stab: You and an enemy engage in a melee fight, you run towards each other and right as you are about to touch/as he attacks strafe around and stab at the earliest opportunity. Probably the hardest stab to learn and master but it can be devastating against people who think melee is a good idea to attack spies with.

  99. -Corner Stab: You bait an enemy to turn around a corner, you then strafe around the corner and right as he passes, stab. This is my personal favorite because it works on almost everyone, especially W+M1 trigger happy Pyros.

  102. -Any stab where you jump you must crouch the entire way, the only way a backstab registers from above is if you are crouching while doing so.

  104. -For corner and matador stabs, do not hold forward. This will mess it up and give you a fail stab or you will miss.

  117. *NOTE* If you're going to use the YER, as much as it pains me to say this, you almost have to use the C&D with it for the first kill to get you going. Using it with the DR is asking for a nice, solid ass-plundering.

  119. -If you have good aim, use the Ambassador. If you like sucking a whole lot of cock or if there are lodsa minisentries, the Diamondback can be useful.

  121. -For the DR, use it to get through unavoidable chokes, decloak as far away from the battle as possible. Note that regardless of how much juice you have left decloaking with the DR will leave you with about 20% juice if you aren't already below that threshold.
