Bright: I have something to give to you, Dido.

Dido: This is...

「ブリッジに直通する通信端末だ。
ハーザの声が聞こえたら、すぐに報告してくれ」
Bright: It’s a communication device with a direct link to the bridge. If at any point you hear Haza’s voice, contact us immediately.

ディド
「わかった」
Dido: Understood.

ブライト
「メグにも同じ物を渡しておく。
ディドの端末が故障した場合、あるいは
彼が何らかの理由で報告できない場合に使え」
Bright: I have one for you as well, Meg. If Dido’s device malfunctions or he is otherwise unable to contact us, then do so in his place.

メグ
「了解しました」
Meg: Roger.

ブライト
「話は以上だ。下がっていい」
Bright: That’s all. You’re free to leave.

ディド
「ああ」
Dido: Right.

メグ
「この端末、お揃いのアクセサリーみたいね」
Meg: These devices kind of make it look like we have matching accessories, huh?

ディド
「何故、嬉しそうなんだ?」
Dido: Why are you so happy about that?

メグ
「え? そ、そう?
ええっと、その…さ、行きましょ!」
Meg: Huh? I-I am? Uh, well... A-Anyways, let’s get going!

ディド
「? わかった…」
Dido: ? Alright...

(Meg and Dido leave.)

ミサト
「ああしていると、仲のいい姉弟みたいね…」
Misato: She’s kind of acting like an older sister for him, isn’t she?

渓
(姉弟、か…)
Kei: (An older sister, huh...)

ブライト
「ところで、葛城二佐…
例の原稿のチェックを頼む」
Bright: By the way, Lieutenant Colonel Katsuragi... I’d like you to check the manuscript.

ミサト
「了解です。
渓、あなたにも付き合ってもらうわ」
Misato: Roger. Kei, you’ll give me a hand.

渓
「ええっ!?
あたし、そういうの苦手なんですけど…」
Kei: Huh!? But, I’m terrible at that kind of thing...

ミサト
「後学のためよ。これは命令です」
Misato: Then you should learn how to do it for future reference. Besides, this is an order.

(Misato and Kei sit down to focus on the manuscript.)

アムロ
「ブライト、何の原稿だ?」
Amuro: What’s this manuscript about, Bright?

ブライト
「今後の行動方針が決まった後で行う
ブリーフィング用の物だ。皆に説明することが
多いからな、原稿が必要なんだ」
Bright: It’s for the briefing we’ll have after we settle on our next course of action. There’s a lot we’ll have to explain to everyone, so we’ll need a manuscript to get through it all.

アムロ
「真面目だな。
案外、政治家に向いてるんじゃないのか?
ヒゲでも生やせば、それらしく見えそうだ」
Amuro: How diligent of you. Maybe you’d be better off as a politician? If you grew a moustache, you’d certainly look the part.

ブライト
「止してくれ、これ以上の気苦労を背負いたくない。
それに、髭は一度生やしてみたが、
ハサウェイやチェーミンには不評だった」
Bright: Please, I couldn’t handle anymore anxiety. Besides, I tried growing a moustache once and it didn’t go over well with Hathaway and Cheimin.

アムロ
「ミライさんもか?」
Amuro: Mirai wasn’t a fan either?

ブライト
「特に何も言われなかったが…
気に入ってる様子ではなかった」
Bright: She didn’t say anything about it, but... Yes, I got the impression she didn’t like it either.

アムロ
「年相応の貫禄が出ていいと思うがな」
Amuro: I think it’d give you a dignified look appropriate to your age.

ブライト
「そういうお前はどうなんだ?」
Bright: What about yourself?

アムロ
「俺に髭が似合うと思うか?」
Amuro: You think a moustache would suit me?

ブライト
「そうじゃない、家庭の話だ。
そろそろ考えてもいいんじゃないのか?」
Bright: Not that, I’m talking about a family. Don’t you think it’s time you gave that some serious though?

アムロ
「その通りかも知れないが…」
Amuro: You may be right, but...

ミサト
(アムロ大尉に恋人が…?)
Misato: (Does that mean Lieutenant Amuro is seeing someone...?)

アムロ
「これからのことを考えるとな」
Amuro: I’ll think about the future after this is all over.

ブライト
「確かにな…こうも戦いが続くようでは
そんな気にはなれんか」
Bright: That’s a fair point... If we’re constantly fighting like this, we’d never have the time for a family.

アムロ
「そういうことだ。敵は待っちゃくれない」
Amuro: You’re right about that. The enemy won’t just wait for us.

トーレス
「高速飛行物体、接近!
10時方向から真っ直ぐ!」
Torres: High speed airborne objects, approaching! They’re coming from 10 o’clock!

ブライト
「言ってるそばから、これか。
総員、第一種戦闘配置!」
Bright: Speak of the devil. All hands, level one battle stations!

Episode 58
Disinformation


(Scene starts on a map screen of an island. The Ra Cailum, the Oceanus, and the players team are deployed. Several ZAFT MS are on the map.)

ザフト兵
「あれが異世界の部隊か!」
ZAFT Soldier: It’s the other world force!

ザフト兵
「データにあった機動兵器もいる!
クルーゼ隊長の情報通りだ!」
ZAFT Soldier 2: We have the data on their mobile weapons! Commander Creuset was well-informed!

ザフト兵
「後続が来る前に手柄を立てちまおうぜ!」
ZAFT Soldier: Let’s take the glory for ourselves before the others get here!

ブライト
「明らかに我々を狙って来ているな。
各機は連携を重視しつつ、迎撃せよ!」
Bright: They’re clearly targeting us. All units, focus on coordination and intercept the enemy!

(Battle 1 begins.)

(Battle 1 ends when all enemies are defeated.)

トーレス
「現戦域内の敵機反応、全て消えました!」
Torres: No more enemy units detected in the combat zone!

ミサト
(前回からそう間を置かない襲撃…
テスタロッサ大佐の予測は正しいようね。
となると…)
Misato: (It wasn’t that long ago since their last attack... It looks like Captain Testarossa’s prediction was on the mark. Which means...)

トーレス
「敵の第二波、接近中!」
Torres: Enemy’s second wave, incoming!

ミサト
(やはりね)
Misato: (Called it.)


(Scene ends.)

(Next scene picks up where it left off.)

「相変わらずの戦力逐次投入か」
Shima: They’re throwing their forces at us back to back, as usual.

キョウ
「波状攻撃で
こっちを疲れさせるつもりなんじゃねえの?」
Kyo: Maybe they’re trying to wear us out by not giving us a break?

十三
「で、結局、異変って何やねん。
[ザフト]の連中が襲ってくるだけやんけ」
Juzo: What’s that there abnormality supposed to be any how? We’ve just had these [ZAFT] guys attackin’ us.

キョウ
「そいつはどうかな?
バタフライ効果って知ってるか?」
Kyo: How about this then. Have you ever heard of the Butterfly Effect?

十三
「バタフライ? チョウチョが何やて?
輜重輸卒が兵隊ならば、チョウチョトンボも
鳥の内、かいな? 兵站軽視はあかんで」
Juzo: Butterfly? Oh, I know. “Who breaks a butterfly upon a wheel?” Yeah, she’s using way too much force by having us deal with these small fries.

豹馬
「お前、何言ってんだ?」
Hyoma: The heck are you on about?

アスカ
「十三、あんた、意外に博学じゃない」
Asuka: I can’t believe you can make a reference like that, Juzo.

キョウ
「つーか、どうしてそんな古い俗謡を知ってて、
バタフライ効果を知らねえんだよ?」
Kyo: Wow, how can you know an old phrase like that but not know about the Butterfly Effect?

十三
「小介、解説頼むわ」
Juzo: Kosuke, explain it for me.

小介
「バタフライ効果とは、カオス理論の予測困難性を
説明した物で、蝶の羽ばたき一つでも
気象にまで影響を与える可能性を説いています」
Kosuke: The Butterfly Effect is an explanation of the unpredictable nature of the Chaos Theory, where a single flap of a butterfly’s wings could influence the weather.

豹馬
「はあ?」
Hyoma: Huh?

アスカ
「ま、あんたの頭じゃ、
到底理解できないでしょうね」
Asuka: I guess this is just too much for your brain to take in.

豹馬
「何だと!?」
Hyoma: What’d you say!?

十三
「つまり…
風が吹けば、桶屋が儲かるっちゅうことかいな?」
Juzo: Basically, it’s like the Japanese saying... “When the wind blows the barrel-maker gets rich”?

キョウ
「まあ、そんなとこだ。
ほんのちょっとしたことでも色々と
影響を与えるってのはよくあるだろ?」
Kyo: Well, sort of. You know how often the tiniest little thing can make all the difference?

十三
「小さなことからコツコツと、かいな」
Juzo: It starts small and keeps escalating, huh.

アムロ
「お前達、話はそこまでだ! 第二波が来たぞ!」
Amuro: That’s enough chatter, you guys! The second wave is here!

(Battle 2 begins after the enemy reinforcements spawn in.)

(Battle 2 ends when all enemies are defeated.)

トーレス
「熱源探知! 熱紋はヴァルファウ型輸送機!
こちらに…あ、いえ、撤退して行きます!」
Torres: Heat source detected! Heat signature matches a VoLPHAU-class transport ship! They’re headed— No, wait, they’re retreating!

ミサト
「アラスカ方面へ?」
Misato: Are they going towards Alaska?

トーレス
「違います。その逆です」
Torres: No, ma’am. They’re going the opposite direction.

ミサト
(…かえって怪しいわね)
Misato: (...That just makes it more suspicious.)

健一
「彼らはアラスカを
目指していたわけじゃなかったのか…」
Kenichi: So they weren’t targeting Alaska?

伊奈帆
「違うと思う」
Inaho: I think otherwise.

健一
「え?」
Kenichi: Huh?

伊奈帆
「前回と今回の敵部隊の動きから判断すれば、
ザフトは僕達の目を逸らそうとしてるように思える」
Inaho: Judging by the enemy force’s movements during the last battle and this one, I believe that they are attempting to divert our attention.

伊奈帆
「彼らは本気でアラスカを
攻めるつもりなのかも知れない」
Inaho: Alaska could very well be their intended target.

クルツ
「そんな馬鹿な。
連合軍の統合最高司令部は地下にあって、
核攻撃の直撃にも耐えるって言われてんだぜ」
Kurz: There’s no way. The Alliance’s Joint Supreme Headquarters is underground, said to be sturdy enough to withstand a nuclear strike.

ヒイロ
「馬鹿ならする」
Heero: There is a way.

クルツ
「はあ?」
Kurz: Huh?

ヒイロ
「戦略目標達成のために最大限の戦闘能力で
戦術目標を破壊する、その覚悟があれば」
Heero:  If they are prepared to use their maximum combat capabilities to destroy tactical targets and achieve their strategic objectives.

アムロ
「もしくは勝算があれば、だな」
Amuro: And so long as there’s a chance of victory.

カミーユ
「かつての[ジオン]軍がやった
ジャブロー攻略作戦のように…?」
Kamille: You mean like how [Zeon] did to try and take over Jaburo in the past...?

アムロ
「もっとも、手段は違うかも知れないが…」
Amuro: Maybe not in the exact same way, but...

クルツ
「だったら、パナマは?」
Kurz: Then what about Panama?

伊奈帆
「ブラフだという可能性が高いですね」
Inaho: It is most likely a bluff.

クルツ
「マジかよ…!」
Kurz: You’re kidding...!

アムロ
「戦場の霧は高度情報戦においても発生する。
連合軍はディスインフォメーションに
踊らされていたか」
Amuro: Fog of war is an issue even in regards to information warfare. And the Alliance could have been working off of disinformation this whole time...

トーレス
「艦長、デ・ダナンから緊急連絡が入りました」
Torres: Captain, we’ve received an urgent transmission from the Danaan.

ブライト
「繋いでくれ」
Bright: Connect us.

テッサ
「ブライト大佐、
ザフトの大規模作戦の目標がわかりました。
パナマではなく、アラスカです」
Tessa: Captain Bright, we’ve confirmed the target for ZAFT’s large scale operation. It isn’t Panama, it’s Alaska.

ブライト
「…!」
Bright: ...!

「既に各地のザフトの戦力がアラスカに集結…
宇宙からは大部隊が降下を開始しています」
Tessa: Already, ZAFT forces from all over are converging on Alaska... There’s also a large battalion beginning its descent from space.

ブライト
「その情報を我々に提供するということは…
アークエンジェルを救うため、アラスカへ行けと?」
Bright: Since you’re telling us this... I assume you want us to go to Alaska and rescue the Archangel?

テッサ
「その通りです。
もしかしたら、ハーザさんが予知した異変は
あそこで起きるのかも知れません」
Tessa: That’s correct. It’s possible the abnormality that Miss Haza predicted could occur there.

ブライト
「アラスカの対応は?」
Bright: How is Alaska responding?

テッサ
「それが…動きが鈍いようなのです。
ザフトの狙いには気付いていると思いますが」
Tessa: Well... Their response has been surprisingly slow. Yet they must know of ZAFT’s target by now.

ブライト
「その懸念もあっての話か…」
Bright: So that is why you’re worried...

テッサ
「ええ…お願い出来ますか?」
Tessa: Yes... Can I ask you to go there?

ブライト
「了解した。我々は直ちにアラスカへ向かう」
Bright: Very well. We will head for Alaska immediately.


アークエンジェル 格納庫
Archangel – Hanger


ムウ
「まさか、査問会で
責任を追及されることになるとはな…!」
Mu: I can’t believe they held us liable at the hearing...!

マリュー
「………」
Murrue: ...

ムウ
「[コーディネイター]であるキラを
ストライクに乗せたのが、
そんなに気に入らなかったのか」
Mu: I can tell they weren’t happy that Kira, a [Coordinator], was the one piloting the Strike.

ムウ
「しかも、アークエンジェルが
アルテミスを壊滅させ、先遣隊を全滅させ、
第8艦隊も失わせただなんて…酷い曲解だぜ」
Mu: Not to mention blaming the Archangel for the destruction of Artemis and the advance team, as well as the loss of 8 battleships... It’s a sickening distortion of the facts.

ナタル
「我々は肝心のストライクを失いましたから…
責任の落とし所が必要なのでしょう」
Natarle: We did lose the vitally important Strike however... Someone had to be held accountable.

ムウ
「挙げ句の果てに俺とバジルール中尉だけじゃなく、
フレイまで転属だぜ?」
Mu: And why is it that Flay is being transferred along with Lieutenant Badgiruel and I?

ナタル
(アルスター家の人間である彼女の言葉は、
その志願動機と共に多くの人の胸を打つ…
活躍の場は前線でなくて良いという理由で…)
Natarle: (She’s a member of the Allster family. Her words, along with her motivation to volunteer, strikes a chord with a great many people... The reason for her transfer is because she doesn’t need to be on the frontlines to accomplish that...)

マリュー
「もう止しましょう、その話は」
Murrue: That’s enough talking about this.

ムウ
「………」
Mu: ...

ナタル
「それで、そのアルスター二等兵は?」
Natarle: So, where is Private Allster?

サイ
「あ…今、来ました」
Sai: Ah... Here she comes now.

フレイ
「艦長、何で私だけ…?」
Flay: Captain, why is it only me...?

マリュー
「それは…」
Murrue: Well...

ナタル
「本部からの命令だ。君は従わねばならない」
Natarle: These orders are from Headquarters. You have no choice in the matter.

フレイ
「嫌です、私…!
艦長、何とかならないんですか…!?」
Flay: No, I don’t want to...! Captain, can’t you do something...!?

マリュー
「軍本部からの命令では、
私にはどうすることも出来ないの。
ごめんなさい」
Murrue: Because they’re direct orders from Headquarters, there’s nothing I can do about it. I’m sorry.

フレイ
「…!」
Flay: ...!

マリュー
「異議があるのなら、一応人事局に
申し立てをしてみることは出来るけど」
Murrue: If you’d like, I can attempt to file an appeal through the Alliance’s personnel office.

ナタル
「取り合うわけありません」
Natarle: They wouldn’t listen.

フレイ
「そんな…!」
Flay: But...!

サイ
「フレイ…キラもいなくなって、
俺達と離れ離れになって、
寂しいのはわかるけど…」
Sai: Flay... I know you’ll be lonely with Kira gone and being separated from the rest of us but—

フレイ
「私、本当はキラのことを…!」
Flay: I wasn’t really serious about Kira—!

サイ
「…止めてくれ」
Sai: ...Please, just stop.

フレイ
「…!」
Flay: ...!

サイ
「これから色々大変かも知れないけど、
お互い頑張ろう」
Sai: Things may get a lot harder from here on, but we’ll both have to just hang in there.

フレイ
「サイ…」
Flay: Sai...

ナタル
「では、艦長…私はこれで」
Natarle: Well, Captain... This is goodbye.

マリュー
「今までありがとう、バジルール中尉」
Murrue: I’d like to thank you for everything, Lieutenant Badgiruel.

ナタル
「いえ」
Natarle: You’re welcome.

マリュー
「また会えるといいわね、戦場でないどこかで」
Murrue: I hope we’ll meet again soon. Some place other than the battlefield.

ナタル
「終戦となれば、可能でしょう」
Natarle: It may be possible, once the war’s over.

マリュー
「そうね…彼女をお願いね」
Murrue: Yes... Please take care of her.

ナタル
「はい。
行くぞ、アルスター二等兵」
Natarle: I will. Let’s go, Private Flay.

フレイ
「あ…サイ…!」
Flay: Ah...! Sai...!

(Badgiruel leaves with Flay.)

サイ
「フレイ…」
Sai: Flay...

ムウ
「俺も…言うだけ言ってみっかな、人事局にさ」
Mu: Maybe I should go down to the personnel office. Give them a piece of my mind.

マリュー
「取り合うわけないそうよ」
Murrue: I doubt it would do any good.

ムウ
「しかし…何もこんな時に
カリフォルニアで教官やれ、はないでしょ」
Mu: But... Why would they want me to work as an instructor in California at a time like this?

マリュー
「あなたが教えれば、
前線でのルーキーの損害率が下がるわ。
今まで…ありがとうございました」
Murrue: Well, with you teaching I’m sure we’ll see a lot less rookie casualties on the frontlines. ...Thank you, for everything you’ve done.

ムウ
「…俺の方こそ、な」
Mu: ...And the same to you.

(Mu leaves.)

Murrue: ...

「首尾は上々。後は解除キーを回すだけ、か。
コーディネイター共もこれで終わりだな」
Alliance Officer: Everything has gone as planned. All that remains is to turn the release key and the Coordinators are finished.

連合軍士官
「この戦争が早期終結に向かわんことを…」
Alliance Officer: May this war come to a swift end...

連合軍士官
「全ては、青き清浄なる世界のために」
Alliance Officer: For the preservation of our blue and pure world.

PLANT – Lacus’s Estate


マルキオ
「ラクス様…先程の報ですが、お父上は…」
Malchio: Lady Lacus... As I mentioned before, your father...

ラクス
「欺かれた、とのことです。
他の穏健派の方々も同じ状況だと聞いております」
Lacus: He believes he has been deceived. I heard it was the same for the other members of the Clyne faction as well.

マルキオ
「そうでしたか…」
Malchio: It would seem so...

キラ
「あの…さっきの通信って…?」
Kira: Um... What was that transmission about before...?

マルキオ
「ザフトの評議会議員の方からです。
発動されたオペレーション・スピットブレイクの
目標が違った、と」
Malchio: It was from a member of the ZAFT Supreme Council. He said that Operation Spit Break’s objective has been changed from what it had originally been made out to be.

ラクス
「パナマではなく、アラスカだそうです」
Lacus: It isn’t Panama, but Alaska instead.

キラ
「そんな…!
あそこには、アークエンジェルが…!」
Kira: No way...! That’s where the Archangel is...!

ラクス
「どちらへ行かれますの?」
Lacus: Where are you going?

キラ
「僕は…地球へ戻らなきゃ…!」
Kira: I... I have to go back to Earth...!

ラクス
「何故…? あなたお一人が戻った所で、
戦いは終わりませんわ」
Lacus: Why...? Even if you go, you can’t end the war by yourself.

キラ
「でも…ここでただ見ていることも
もう出来ない」
Kira: I know... But I can’t just stay here doing nothing.

キラ
「何も出来ないって言って、
何もしなかったら、もっと何も出来ない。
何も変わらない。何も終わらないから」
Kira: If you just did nothing because you thought it wouldn’t help, then you’d end up doing less than nothing. Nothing would change, and nothing would end.

ラクス
「また…ザフトと戦われるのですか?」
Lacus: Will you...fight against ZAFT again?

キラ
「いや…」
Kira: No...

ラクス
「では、地球軍と?」
Lacus: Then, the Earth Alliance?

キラ
「僕達は何と戦わなきゃならないのか…
少しわかった気がするから」
Kira: I think that... I have a little better understanding of what we should be fighting against.

ラクス
「………」
Lacus: ...

キラ
「あの人に言われた通りだ…。
もっとちゃんと、周りを見ないといけない。
支えようとしてくれる人達がいるんだから」
Kira: It’s just like she said... All I needed to do was take a better look around me to see that there were people I could rely on.

キラ
「もう失いたくない。守りたいんだ。
だから…行くよ」
Kira: I don’t want to lose anything else. I want to protect them. That’s why... I’m going.

ラクス
「わかりました。
では、着替えていただいてもいいですか?」
Lacus: Very well. Then, do you mind changing clothes?

キラ
「え?」
Kira: Huh?

ラクス
「あちらに連絡を取ります。
ラクス・クラインは平和の歌を歌います、と」
Lacus: I’d like to inform everyone... That from now on, Lacus Clyne will be singing the song of peace.

Lacus: Good day. May we go through here?

ZAFT Soldier: Yes, ma’am!

Lacus: Are you alright? Please continue to follow me.

「どうして、僕をこんな所に…?」

「その理由はすぐにわかります。
さあ、あの向こうが目的地です」
Lacus: You’ll see why very soon. Look, that is our destination.

ザフト

登場作品    機動戦士ガンダムSEED

プラントに属する軍隊。通常の軍と異なり、兵士たち
は本国で別の仕事に就いており、階級は存在しない。
ザフトとは「Zodiac Alliance of
Freedom Treaty」の略である。

ZAFT

From:       Mobile Suit Gundam SEED

The military force belonging to the PLANTs. Unlike ordinary armies, the soldiers are classified by their place of origin and occupation, and there are no ranks.
ZAFT stands for “Zodiac Alliance of Freedom Treaty”.


コーディネイター

登場作品    機動戦士ガンダムSEED

高い肉体的ポテンシャルを得るために遺伝子操作を
受けて産まれてきた人間の呼称。
これに対し、遺伝子操作を受けていない普通の人間を
ナチュラルと呼ぶ。

Coordinator

From:       Mobile Suit Gundam SEED

The term for humans born with genetic engineering to obtain enhanced physical potential.
In contrast, a normal human that has not undergone genetic engineering is called a Natural.


ジオン

登場作品	機動戦士ガンダム 逆襲のシャア

　一年戦争で地球連邦に敗れたジオン公国を指す。
　一年戦争の終わりにジオン公国はジオン共和国へと
変わり、地球連邦との休戦を締結するが、
休戦を認めない残党軍は数多く残った。

Zeon

From:		Mobile Suit Gundam - Char's Counterattack

This refers to the Principality of Zeon, defeated by the Earth Federation in the One Year War.
After the One Year War, the Principality of Zeon turned into the Republic of Zeon and signed a truce with the Earth Federation; however, many remnant forces refused to acknowledge this fact.
