  1. The Archon was once more leading the raid- this time around, it was to the settlement of Ardent remnants, high in the mountains, the place where he had managed to kill one of Ardent defenders in the past.
  2.
  3. There was a distinct tension in the air once the forces clashed, and with pre-emptively spoken orders, he already knew how this would go - no doubt, he'd be focused in the battle by the enemy magi, and no doubt that he would be stood alone.
  4.
  5. --Or not? With a side-glance directed at Ashton, he squinted, if only to exclaim.
  6.
  7. "What are you even--"
  8.
  9. A shake of his head. The Archon could not allow himself to be distracted. The Tempest's gaze was pointed towards Mordred and Hermes, and only one of the two were really familiar to him.
  10.
  11. There were no words. Previous defeats have made him a focused fighter, and this one would be a fight where he should focus too.
  12.
  13. The blade was drawn, the winds were gathering. It was the time.
  14. (Zaruma)
  15.
  16. Mordred was once again in the battlefield. Releasing a long warspear, her aura flared and she stared down the opposition.
  17.
  18. Mordred never thought she would have the honor of facing an archon in battle! Along with him was an unknown boy which she did not recognize. Nevertheless, the woman set her sights on both of them and twisted her feet to grip the ground.
  19.
  20. "Zaruma, is it?"
  21.
  22. Mordred drew back.
  23. (Mordred)
  24.
  25. Gulps..
  26.
  27. This was a real battle he's involved in, Ashton knew he was a liability but... He only wanted to be here to observe, not to get in on the action.
  28.
  29. Guess you don't get what you want in life.
  30.
  31. "... Sorry dad, I.. I wanted to see you in action..." He paused .. "Not this close..."
  32. (Ashton Tempest)
  33.
  34. Standing behind Mordred, within their hands was an elongated staff that was giving off a burning sensation with every small movement they gave. Winds whipped at the area around them and a frown was hidden beneath their mask.
  35.
  36. It was strange, possibly a crappy tie of fate. In their last instance of assisting Ardent, they were faced up once again against Zaruma. Bits of wind slashed at the area around them and with no words they just took a few steps back and settled down, calmly looking upon the enemies. It was time for battle, not time for panic or even small talk.
  37.
  38. They were ready.
  39. (Hermes)
  40.
  41. Hermes whispers something.

  118.
  119. {RP BATTLE} YOU HAVE ROLLED 2 OR OVER: You have evaded capture by your enemies! (Unless otherwise specified, your character may escape captivity)
  120.
  121. The winds of battle ran rampant and furious. Howling gales raged from the archon and occultic energies from her opposition. Mordred fired off bursts of flame and searing fire.
  122.
  123. In a battle that raged on for what felt like hours, days even, Mordred's raced around, growing weary but so were her opponents. Mid leap to avoid a gust, she paused and looked from where it came from.. They had won against the Archon but next came the boy which was surprisingly still whole an intact.
  124.
  125. With the help of her comrade in arms, she fought on and in the end, won the battle. An arm raised in victory as a hearty cheer came from the woman's lips.
  126.
  127. The raid was not over however and Mordred assembled with her fellow combatant, judging where to go next.
  128. (Mordred)
  129.
  130. It was the macabre of fate, as alongside Mordred, Hermes was fighting against Zaruma.. Winds flowed out and about while the staff they had borrowed sent cascades of winds in every direction. This time however, it seemed that Hermes was set to not be flung away, their heavy armour imprinting into the snow with every heavy trudge they gave.
  131.
  132. Soon it seemed that the battle they were in soon would end, as through the cooperative play of Mordred and Hermes...They sent Zaruma into the snow, however in a moment of notice towards Ashton...Their arm flicked. The boy was practically a pedestrian in their mind, yet the occultism that was flowing form him and the obvious relations to Zaruma led him to send forth a strong gust of wind.
  133.
  134. It was a small Tornado that'd practically immediately wrap around Ashton and from there spread razor sharp cuts all across his body. However that was little when compared to the fact that within the epitome of the torrent of wind went the boys hand.
  135.
  136. Almost immediately, it'd be removed with one slice and then...For the next few seconds that Hermes would keep the boy in the tornado, it'd be gone. A red mist spreading outwards along with the dispersing winds.
  137.
  138. There was only a moment of recognition towards the two combatants before Hermes would just take a few steps backwards, hiding behind Mordred in case Zaruma somehow had a second wind.
  139. (Hermes)
  140.
  141. Yelped.
  142.
  143. Screamed.
  144.
  145. Cried.
  146.
  147. His hand was literally just... Gone. It disappeared. It felt as if a very sharp line just went through his flesh, through his bone ,through his arteries. Like a knife through butter..
  148.
  149. The pure, white snow under Ashton slowly began to turn crimson red, with each drop of blood from his arm sprayed across it, the boy went to his knees unable to move; in shock.
  150.
  151. His eyes do not blink, tears streamed down his cheeks as blood splattered out of where his hand should've been.
  152.
  153. He was not a warrior, he was a kid, in the wrong place and the wrong time.
  154. (Ashton Tempest)
  155.
  156. The Archon felt the struggle against two magi that were meant to disable him in the fighting- it didn't help when the flames raged across his skin, when the illusionary assaults plagued his mind and blinded his vision, when the earth and wind magics alike have been halting his movement at every possible turn.
  157.
  158. It was all too difficult for Zaruma to fight alone against magi such as this; and to see that Ashton was soon wounded, his eyes were widened - a hint of concern to Demon's eyes, before a shout was made.
  159.
  160. "ASHTON!"
  161.
  162. Within naught but a moment, the Archon turned into embodiment of wind, launching himself towards Ashton's direction to pick him up as quick as possible - and while he was taken in the Tempest's arms to get him out of the battlefield, the assaults continued.
  163.
  164. Zaruma had to remember the dodging technique, quick- what was it that Usiel did with his bladestyle of Garuda?
  165.
  166. To be nimble, to be swift and evasive was the goal. Every shot of flames after that was avoided, every rolling rock of earth was dodged, and every gust of wind was skilfully glided, much as if embracing the wind and using it to own advantage.
  167.
  168. It wasn't too long before a safe distance was made. Although not furious, but quite displeased, he held his bleeding son in his arms. There was nothing but a single line, full of venom.
  169.
  170. "We'll meet again."
  171. (Zaruma)
