  1. I was wandering through some forest. Bright. Clear. Calm. I could hear bluejays and cardinals up in the trees. I laid down in the grass. It was so, so unbelievably soft and long. I stared up at the canopy overhead and, for the first time in a while, I felt genuinely content. I laid my hand against the ground next to me and I could feel Mother Earth's heartbeat. A faun walked up to me and laid down right at my side. I don't know how long I laid there like that for. After a while, I heard footsteps in front of me but all remained quaint. The birds continued to sing and the faun napped at my left. I sat up and looked ahead. I found myself staring at the man who I had seen in the mirror. His skin was well-tanned and wrinkled, his hair black with flecks of gray. Eyes so dark they were almost black. He was dressed in fine white buckskin with a beaded headdress around his forehead with several raven and hawk feathers falling at the side of his face from it. I noticed the headdress had the Shaman's Eye in the middle. He smiled down at me and muttered something in Navajo that I couldn't translate save for one word- 'nitsaaachʼéʼé'. He handed to me a small doll made of wood and scraps of buckskin with a Shaman's Eye painted where the face should be. He smiled at me once more and then I woke up.
