  1. The HOLY BRIM BIBLE has been made for you to respect certain regulations this faction has and help the faction improve by directly helping you improve in everything(from screenshot editing, roleplay, grammar and character development). Do not expect this bible to give you step by step guidance but rather give you suggestions from which you will elaborate. Each chapter will explain you what you have to follow in order to be more productive both for the faction and for your character. On the long run, this BIBLE will develop your creativity and will make you become more professional. Therefore, if you wish to continue your roleplay with this faction you will respect this quran like you respect your religion. Furthermore, this regulations won't restrict you from anything IN CHARACTER. These are completely OUT OF CHARACTER and will stay like that.
  2.
  3. 1.Faction goal(s)
  4. We're here to roleplay the Los Santos spin-off of the real Fruit Town Brims street gang of Compton. What we're not here to do is roleplay a gang out of whichever area you were born in, are from, currently live in, or prefer to portray. If you need media inspiration to understand what we're about, listen to music from YG, G-Nutt, Lil Blood, Joe Moses, and The Game. Most rappers born and raised in Los Angeles will offer a scope into the regular happenings of the poor African-American communities of southern Los Angeles.
  5.
  6. 1.1 We don't drive brand new SUVs or minted 1964 Chevrolet Impalas. We do drive outdated Toyotas on used Daytons and we do put our guns in our belts before we brush our teeth. This is a squat gang which is heavily reliant on familyhood and community. Want to roleplay an out-of-touch snake that is going to kill his way to the top? Try it. Get killed. Try again. Get killed a second time. This is a gang rooted in the adoption of homeless and misguided youth. Your character will likely be born into a broken-window home and adopted by a rotted-ceiling dope house. We are not forcing players' hands into predetermined undying loyalty, but we are filtering out any idealism that all gangs and gang members are out to snake the community which raised them.
  7.
  8. 1.2 Understand that your character is likely going to die or be in prison for a long time before he ever sees a net worth of over $30,000. Sell Brim drugs. Make less than you would at McDonald's. Buy a Hermes belt. Sleep on a couch in the same dope house the police raid once every two weeks. Do it all over again for a new pair of Lebrons this time. This is the shit our characters will be living.
  9.
  10. 1.3 If this does not sound like something you would like to or think is fun to roleplay, you may be better suited for a different faction.
  11.
  12. 2. Character development
  13. Your character is your main purpose on LS:RP. You decide its future, its actions, its health, its physical condition, its everything. But in order to make your character have a purpose, you need to develop it, make it evolve. You cannot make a character and /assume/ he's something or someone in the in character community without achieving that through in character ways. You continously have to make your character 'grow'. Imagine your character development as a story that needs chapters and work on it. You create those chapters through creativity that you put on your character. Noone can help you be creative, you have to become a creative person by using your mind and imagination. The only way to help someone be creative is by guiding him with some suggestions/examples, so here are a few:
  14.
  15. 2.1 Don't rush your character development. Don't try to get jumped in as soon as you join the faction, it will make you look unproffessional and you will also regret it in the long run. Enjoy every minute as a local since that's when people create their impressions about you.
  16.
  17. 2.2 Just because you're a a neighborhood hood rat, doesen't mean you don't have a family or relatives or even a girlfriend. The majority of gang bangers in real life get sucked into that life because of domestic violences at teen ages or simply because they've found the wrong entourage. But having a family member or relative(parent(s), grandparent(s), uncle and/or aunt, sister/brother or even a girlfriend) can help you create a lot of unique roleplay around them, even if they're NPCs. You can also involve other faction members into your domestic problems and it's also a good way to create self-roleplay. Examples of personal issues can vary between domestic violence, crack addicted girlfriend, ignorant grandparent(s) and so on, as there are plenty of them you can think of.
  18.
  19. 2.3 You can also develop your character around drugs. From being addicted to a certain strong narcotic to just being a professional drug dealer it's all your choice. But if you choose this way of life, you need to have a strong reason behind it. Not every gang banger sells drugs in real life. The majority make money from robberies, home invasions, car thefts and other similar illegal activities. Drug distribution on the streets in 2017 is known to be extremely risky and you need to be a professional to be able to handle that, so try and portray that if you wish. Do your drug deals smart, use different phones(roleplayily) for deals, have a rich vocabulary when it comes to drug names(such as fish/A1/yayo = cocaine, fishscale/rocks = crack, kush/gas/bud/loud = marijuana, goodies = drugs and so on). This way you can evolve your character around the drug world and it can be very interesting.
  20.
  21. 2.4 Not every character is perfect. Each character has its own issues. Try and take advantage of that and provide development around the issues your character has. Whether your character is overweighted and has food addiction, drug addiction, alcohol addictions, gambling addiction and other similar problems, it's up to you to evolve how character acts around these.
  22.
  23. 3. Grammar
  24. One of the most important aspects of a faction is its professionalism and excellence in a variety of subject areas. This includes, but is not limited to, the domination of a digital drug market, the control of a major economic and cultural influence on a populated metropolitan district, the assurance of quality roleplay and character representation on an ultra-realistic level, and the creation of an objective positive opinion of the faction based on a standard of excellence of aesthetic and practical elements of our faction. Ergo, it is of relative importance that we represent ourselves to be intelligent, logical, and pragmatic. One of the multitude of ways we achieve this is through a weighted interest in the perfection of grammatical and spelling practices amongst inducted, associated, indoctrinated, patriated, and other affiliated persons. I thank you in advance for your cooperation and wish the very best to all readers. Hopefully we can gain some clarity and insight into the magical word of linguistics.
  25.
  26. 3.1 Our faction portrays a gang, so therefore is expected for us to have a less developed vocabulary. How do we portray that? We firstly try and cut off as many apostrophes as possible. I know it's gramatically incorrect, but this way we give a better gang influence. I'll provide several examples of how it's necessary to 'talk' in character:
  27. Example 1(incorrect): Les' go hit tha' shop my nigg'. I kno' some goo' shi' in thea.
  28. Example 2(correct): Lesko/Les go hit tha shop my nigga. I kno sum good shid in thea.
  29.
  30. 3.2 Apostrophes are almost never used when dealing with numbers or individual letters.* Apostrophes should never be placed before an "s" unless it is being substituted for an "i" or indicating possession.
  31. *The rules regarding apostrophes in these situations are constantly being altered. While some may consider it acceptable to use apostrophes in this example, it is generally recommended that you do not for consistency's sake.
  32. Example 1(incorrect) During the 1970's, I made 10's of thousands of dollars. The 70's were awesome. G's up!
  33. Example 2(correct): During the 1970s, I made 10s of thousands of dollars. The '70s were awesome. Gs up!
  34.
  35. 3.3 Because of our backgrounds, we may have picked up some nasty grammatical habits from other sub par influences. Even if you didn't belong to the phenomenon known as "Habbo Hotel," it is possible that you began typing in ways based on or reminiscent of ex-Hotelers, specifically in the categories of ellipsis, hyphen, and dash usage.
  36. Example 1(incorrect): You're crazy, man..
  37. Example 2(correct): You're crazy, man...
  38.
  39. Example 3(incorrect): Watch out for the-..
  40. Example 4(correct): Watch out for the--
  41.
  42. Remember! There is a difference between a hyphen (-) and a dash (—, which can be represented by a double hyphens (--) or created using the alt code ALT + 0151) that must be known. A hyphen is used to join words. A dash is used to indicate range, relationships, attributive compounds, a substitute for parentheses, or an interruption of speech. However, a dash can be represented using a hyphen or spaced hyphen ( - ) when the author is unable to easily create the character symbol necessary.
  43.
  44. 3.4 There are a lot of ways to use and represent numbers in writing. While there aren't a lot of specific rules regarding this section, there is a general consensus about what is aesthetically pleasing that should be followed.
  45. Example 1(incorrect): That's like 21011 dollars!
  46. Example 2(correct): That's like $21,011!
  47. Example 3(correct): That's like 21,011 dollars!
  48. Example 4(correct): That's like twenty-one thousand eleven dollars!
  49.
  50. Example 1(incorrect): My phone number is five five five one two three four.
  51. Example 2(incorrect): My phone number is 5551234.
  52. Example 3(correct): My phone number is 555-1234.
  53.
  54. 4. Faction media
  55. Faction media has become essential in success as a faction in Los Santos Role Play. Media posted at the main faction thread represent the faction and who we are as players. It pretty much lets every thread visitor with an impression about the faction. If he's going to see horrible edited screenshots, horrible roleplay in screenshots or uncreative ones he will stop following the thread. Each faction needs supporters in order to accomplish it's purpose(get official) and you can only do have them by /entertaining them/. How? With well edited screenshots which provide good and creative roleplay. Therefore, we wish to be such a faction either you like it or not. All members must follow every criteria in order to be eligible for screenshot permission:
  56.
  57. 4.1 No character introductions will be tolerated. Unless you were a part of the core faction base, you are not allowed to post introduction screenshots with your character merely standing somewhere / doing something. If you don't get what I mean, the following is NOT allowed:
  58. * John Smith is a known resident of Mariposa Avenue. He grew up in this location.
  59.
  60. 4.2 Kill parades! Who doesn't like to show off with their shooting skills and ultimate death row? We, as a faction, both out of character and in character do not tolerate the use of aggressive weaponry without base or reason. Screenshots that are filled with killings and deaths are not tolerated. However, exceptions can be made for serious deaths as well as detailed kill role-play. I don't want to see your screenshots filled with endless lines of red (( THIS PLAYER IS DEAD! )).
  61.
  62. 4.3 Pictures of role playing alone should only be posted if they have a purpose. Pictures of solo roleplay are cool as long as they have something to do with the faction and/or continue a previously showcased scenario.
  63. Bagging up/cutting drugs, showcasing your character's issues with the law, etc are cool, but no one likes to see pictures of someone's character eating a bowl of cereal in the morning or arguing with his NPC wife/mother/sister/brother. It's a big no-no.
  64. Example 1.
  65. Player walks down Grove Street.
  66. Player looks left to right before deciding to cross to Colonial Lane.
  67. Player yawns.
  68. Player sees a graffiti tag.
  69. Player .....
  70. This scenario shows a bad example of how you shouldn't be roleplaying when you are alone. This doesn't add value to the faction thread or your character. Save it for when someone is actually in-game.
  71.
  72. Example 2.
  73. Player wakes up with a blurry vision.
  74. Player smells his breath.
  75. Player starts to notice his alcohol abuse from last night.
  76. Player's stomach is upset.
  77. Player feels the unpleasant urge to throw up.
  78. Player ....
  79. This scenario shows a good example in which a character wakes up from a party that actually happend in character. It would add value to the character because it would set the mood for the roleplay of the day.
  80.
  81. 4.4 Don't quote multiple screenshots at the time, it unnecessarily clogs up the page, if you want to show someone what previously happened, link them to your previous post or put the screenshots in a spoiler.
  82.
  83. 4.5 ENB in screenshots or HQ mods.
  84. I personally find it very distasteful and I wouldn't really like to see screenshots including ENB or any HQ mods of any sort. Keep the screenshots grimey.
  85.
  86. Good example(s):

  96.
  97. Screenshot editing Before editing the screenshots make sure you use 800x600 RESOLUTION in game when taking screenshots, have no ENB installed, have low poly skins only or no skin mod installed. Please check the following guide posted on LSRP Player Created Guides section and follow it if you do not already have your own, or use original doorkicker's video guide. You can download Adobe Photoshop from here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/y1zl4xxcr ... rtable.rar
  98.
  99. http://forum.ls-rp.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... =blindfold ( the guide which the majority of our members use )
  100.
  101.
  102.
  103. NOTE: Each member is asked to post at least 2 screenshots a day(in a post or different post) so that the thread will remain active and we will gain posts.
  104.
  105. 5. Tabbing during roleplay
  106. Just as the title says, you really got to stop tabbing while you're posted or roleplaying around players for long durations of times and ending up kicked. It ruins the vibe, you don't want to be roleplaying with somebody and getting replies every minute or two, that's what gets people demotivated and bored then end up /q'ing. If you're going to TAB, go inside an interior, or behind a house or just out the way of roleplay, it kills the vibe honestly.
  107.
  108. 6. Respect the Los Santos Roleplay community
  109. Respect the Los Santos Roleplay community, including both regular players and more specifically, staff and other faction members/leaders. We all have factions and other players on this game which we disagree with. We always will. We cannot ask that everyone forgive and forget past disagreements and worse with other factions and community members. We can, however, ask that you do not carry any of it into to your roleplay and OOC behavior. Nobody cares that about whatever vendetta you may have against a faction or particular staff members. Keep it to yourself. If you have a hard time being mature and moving on from the past, you're not welcomed here. These include but are not limited to:
  110. 6.1 Talking about other players and/or factions in-game and on Los Santos Roleplay channels (i.e. TeamSpeak, IRC, etc.) either IC or OOC.
  111.
  112. 6.2 Disrespecting staff decisions through OOC channels (i.e. having "FREE ______" for a signature--I have friends that were banned off of this server too, but I know my place in the admin's decision in banning my friends and that place doesn't exist).
  113.
  114. 6.3 Disrespecting/taunting other players and/or factions through OOC channels (i.e. using screenshots of another player's dead or soon-to-be-dead character for avatars and/or signatures--this is really stupid and childish and should not be done especially when we disallow alike screenshots on our thread overall).
  115.
  116. 6.4 Metagaming knowledge of characters or previous characters in spite of past OOC disagreement (i.e. if you killed Nicholas Meadows on a previous character, don't roleplay knowing about it on your Circle Town Brim character--this especially includes mentioning previous events/players which have lead to commonly trivial IC and OOC outcomes).
  117.
  118. 7. Do not use OOC drugs/weapons.
  119. This rule is self-explanatory. The drug economy on Los Santos Roleplay is screwed as it is. Lastly does it need our members disrespecting the efforts of honest roleplayers keeping drug roleplay alive by being selfish. Therefore, if you have any drugs/weapons from your previous characters you may as well get rid of them(/dropgun or /dropdrug). We want to keep our stuff realistic as it is. If you somehow find drugs/guns in a car then you may as well get of those too as it's not roleplay nor realistic to use those guns. Try and get yours guns through /roleplay/ methods from people you know in the faction or other connections you've /made/ on this character. It's stupid, unrealistic, and a kick to the balls for the rest of us. Not being supplied drugs IC? Sucks. Roleplay a drought or buy drugs from a reputable drug dealer/supplier. By this, we mean make a connection with a gang member (even rival, if necessary) to buy overpriced drugs from them to flip. Keep the short list below in mind when roleplaying with drugs:
  120.
  121. 7.1 Price drugs generally according to the commonly known drug price agreement (i.e. cocaine for $500, heroin for $600, etc.)--however, always remember to sell for as high as you can and work your price down to the price floor of buyers seem reluctant or hesitant.
  122.
  123. 7.2 Don't ask your buddy to your roleplay any type of "plug" for you--your plug is the group of people in your neighborhood which you will meet in the faction as you progress--side step Brim Mother Nature and get clapped.
  124.
  125. 7.3 We can't all be trap lords so some of us need to be trap rats--respect development and know your place.
  126.
  127. 7.4 Don't roleplay with drugs/weapons stolen en masse just because you come across them doing shit your character wouldn't and shouldn't have been doing in the first place. You can roleplay with drugs/weapons you rob from a certain player with realistic roleplay(not driving a FCR with /mask at him and jack him).
  128.
  129. 7.5 Don't use OOC drugs/guns, bitch.
  130.
  131. 8. Vehicles
  132. We have some sort of restrictions when it comes to vehicles (IN GAME). You should be aware of vehicles that makes you look professional and a serious roleplayer and not a day 1 noob. Your vehicle you use for your character roleplay reflects you as a roleplayer. If you show up at a brawl/shootout or at a faction event or even club with a certain vehicle you're making a first impression and we don't want people to laugh in your face OOCly. I know it sucks but that's how people do it, that's the nature of LS:RP players. Therefore, I made a list below with vehicles you're allowed to use:
