How fast should I add content?
this may be a dumb question but what happens If I publish 20 unique blog posts every day?

Is there some kind of excessive content spam in the eyes of Google?
If they're unique content posts, you should be already. The question is, how long can you keep up with posting that much content every single day?

Adding thousands of articles in one month and let it rest or add steady content monthly and keep adding?

Then either hire a VA to set up all of the articles and do the on-page SEO for scheduled posting.

If you really have thousands go for 50+ a day :). I see many sites that are ranking at the top of the serps that built around 50-300 post on day 1 and then never touched it again. Most of these are around 2 years old... by never touched it again I mean they never added more content. I have not dug into the links as most of these pages I am finding dont have any to the pages I am looking at.

Generally the sooner you get it posted the better I think.. I do agree if you only had 100 articles you might do better to post 50 and then post 5 a week for 10 weeks but I am not sure on that. Would love to do some testing on this in the future.
I think there's no limit to publishing things onto your site - but make sure that the published content also has some social signals to make it more natural. Otherwise, if it's not copied content, then there's literally no limit to that - it's not spam, so there's really nothing against publishing a lot of posts on your site.
Just go crazy with it and report back to us with what happens.

Wow... this somewhat motivates me to achieve my goal. :) I’m barely at 13 for my new site.
If you're interlinking (e.g. authority site) content, I suggest publish them all at once.

On the other hand, if you have an "episodic" site, you can dripfeed using WP's scheduled post feature
I'm actually doing this for a digital marketing blog I run right now. I am on month one and my plan is to post one article a day with the end result being 3 per day in 6 months time. I'd recommend looking at what you would like to be posting at maximum and then gradually increase the number of posts published. I would also focus on the most niche relevant content first before targeting broader niches. I'm sure it doesn't matter how much you post per day providing your content is quality and unique but I personally would rather be safe than sorry at the beginning.

You can keep posting 20 unique content in your website but you should maintain publishing the content everyday if not it will affect your ranking.
Try to focus on the quality of the content and the try to be consistent in posting the contents. I would suggest don't go for 20 blog posts a day, rather post them everyday with consistency in less quantity.

1M is not big number BTW , before Panda updates I saw many people passing it and get index easy
Wrong question.

You should not ask "how fast".

But you should ask "how good" your content will be.

Churning lots of content won't help your ranking.
