  1. It wasn't long after completing Artos' hand that Vivica took her leave from the shop. The process was long.. too long, in fact, and draining. Therefore the young Loirdne woman decided to head home for the night.
  2.
  3. Chores were completed. Her parents' room was cleaned, bed made, clothing washed thoroughly and with water magic, the water within the materials was manipulated, pulled out of the fabric, and disposed of in the grass just outside of the window!
  4.
  5. Everyone's clothing was folded and placed away in their usual spot. Wind magic breezes along the floors and nicknacks to dust and sweet, and dishes were hand washed, dried, and placed away.
  6.
  7. Phew! Chores were completed. It had been awhile since she cleaned the house spotless, and now, something she had put off on for too long once again? Reading the Journal of Reeve Alison. There werea few subjects to finish, chapters to get through, before she moved on to Thom's journal with information about demonology, artificial imperfection, mana absorption, and elemental summoning abilities and how he had managed to do it!
  8.
  9. Therefore, after the woman finished the chores, Vivica made her way to her room with her door shut so she could change into more comfortable attire, which was a pair of shorts, a shirt, and Thom's old, red jacket given to her by Ancillia long ago.
  10.
  11. On her bed she sprawled out her utensils. The journal Marina gave her, a pen, the many journals, and ink to write with. Thus, Vivica opened the book to the information on spirit summoning to get started once again.
  12. (Vivica Loirdne)
  13. "Alright.. spirit summoning.. something my mom is capable of. Here we go." She spoke to herself, cracking open her journal to the page left off.
  14.
  15. It was the art of summoning spiritng, of course. Providing catharsis, or a release, for the restless spirits. The method, by how Vivica sees it, is the art of furthering the rebirth and end the chains of combat and regret that keep a soul from finding a new light.
  16.
  17. And Vivica wrote the information here within her own journal, but paraphrasing it. It was simpler to understand in the ways she wrote it, but overall, the information wasn't in any way difficult to grasp.
  18.
  19. The strength, as well, of a soul depended on the emotional strength of the ties that bind it. Written, noted, and kept. Again she continued to read on about what a spirit was.
  20.
  21. Just a shadow of its former self. Their magic worked like a magi's own due to the spirit's intentions needed fulfilled. Though summoning powerful magic was rare, as the journal stated.
  22.
  23. "Damn.. well.. summoning an elemental might just be easy.. but what about a storm elemental? I'm masters in my magics, it should be easy.. but how would it act? I wonder.." Again she spoke to herself and continued to write until there was nothing more to go on with in the art of summoning, therefore she flipped the page and continued.
  24. (Vivica Loirdne)
  25. "The anatomy of a spirit.. or?" She questioned. The woman's eyes began to scan the pages; different than what she assumed would be written within it, but also expected. Again, she wrote down each detail she read about the anatomy of the bodies listed.
  26.
  27. About souls being collections of past lives, experiences, and concentrated mana, what the book of Kraus states about them, Avalon, and depravity, their beings protected by a powerful battier than divine magic is capable of bypassing, and about angels being unable to live through many lives.
  28.
  29. On to essences being a single lifetime and a piece of the soul. Unstable ones could return in the forms of spirits, a mana imprint sent from the spirit realm where the essence will remain and be protected by guardians. The possibility to destroy an essence without divine magic was by depraved means.
  30.
  31. "Wow.. gah.. this is a bit confusing.." She looked and reread the sections with concern. "Unsealed souls that are incomplete can only be destroyed through depraved means.. ok.. got that." She stated, until reading the next part, which confused her, something she'd have to ask her mother to clarify.
  32.
  33. "Ok.. mana.." Vivica continued to write. About Mana, about the Magical circuits of the body, and about the body itself, which in that portion, wasn't necessary. Yet.. those were the final readings.
  34. (Vivica Loirdne)
  35. "Finally, I have the journal back and can give it to my mother." Swiftly Vivica rose from her bed with the journal for the woman to see and place wherever she had it before. She'd have to thank Batkem later for the usage of it.
  36.
  37. "Now on to Thom's journal!" A sigh of relief was given about finally getting her hands on the book to read it.
  38.
  39. Vivica flipped towards the back of it, past the information about Artificial Imperfection, demonology, and mana absorption. Vivica wouldn't dare learn those subjects, but obtaining the information and education herself on those ideals? Sure!
  40.
  41. "Maybe another time, for now!" She stated aloud and flipped through the pages. Though, the pages were quite short to say the last, but she began to read through each one about his adventures with summoning elementals!
  42.
  43. According to the man's journal, he was able to summon these very elementals by reaching into the spirit realm and dragging them into the physical world just like a normal summoner could do with spirits.
  44.
  45. The difference between the spirits and elementals are that they are creatures fully shaped from their element, but spirits are more free, ethereal, as it was written.
  46.
  47. The process written out that Thom had used to summon them was to close his eyes, imagine a door to the spiritual world and open it to drag the elemental into the physical world. What began as a meek elemental that would flop around, it matured in power with each summon by explosing it to battling until eventually, Indra, was at its peak in power.
  48.
  49. "Imagining a door in my head to summon elementals? And.. all I have to do.. is.. think of a door? Easy.. right?" She questioned herself and tried to imagine it, but perhaps she could attempt it for the first time--
  50. (Vivica Loirdne)
  51.
  52. Vivica Loirdne rolled a dice and it landed on: 2
  53.
  54. "Alright. I'll try it." Vivica rose from her bed and stood at its side. Her silver eyes came to close and in her mind, she began to imagine a door. Now.. "All I have to do is open it, reach in.. and pull something out, right?"
  55.
  56. That was Thom's method stated in his journal. Alright. Vivica couldn't see a door JUST yet. She focused and within seconds in the dark void of her mind, a door with a glow around the cracks appeared and she stepped forward.
  57.
  58. Her hand reached for the handle to turn it. Slowly, the young woman opened the door. The light of the world was bright, filling the darkness around her and thus she looked away, and reached her arm inside.
  59.
  60. (Rolled 2) But.. when she pulled it out and opened her eyes? There was nothing within her grip. Nothing in front of her. "Did I forget a step..? I have to pull out an elemental from the spirit realm.. so.. maybe.. I have to imagine pulling it too?" She thought that's where she could have messed up!
  61.
  62. Elementals, afterall, were beings entirely made up of their elements. Though.. to reach in and pull out a storm elemental? That, perhaps, might be much more difficult than she'd imagine. Storm was the art and mastery of amalgamating three magics into a single form, therefore, a storm elemental would be made up of three magics, right?
  63.
  64. Three that she herself had a mastery over! It should be easy! Just thinking about a creature that might look like a cloud with electricity conducting throughout, and maybe some water made up in there some where!
  65.
  66. "Ah.. I need to try again. I need to focus harder." And again she'd try.
  67. (Vivica Loirdne)
  68.
  69. Vivica Loirdne rolled a dice and it landed on: 1
  70.
  71. Attempt number two.
  72.
  73. The woman again closed her eyes. Behind her eye lids was nothing but darkness. In her mind had been the same until her eyes fixed on a door, the same she had imagined before with the glow of the realms shining through the cracks all around it.
  74.
  75. "Open." She spoke with her hand turning the knob again. This time? She imagined what the creature may possibly look like, yet in a lesser form, or something greater if she could.
  76.
  77. Vivica didn't want to rush in her practicing to summon these beings into the world, therefore a lesser form might be the best. Something like a cloud she formed now, but an actual creature with lightning flowing throught it and bits of water visible in its form.
  78.
  79. She imagined it. Her arm began was stuck in the doorway once again to pull an elemental out like she had imagined.
  80.
  81. (Rolled 1) A spark within her hand would be heard that she had held out before her in the physical realm. At least this time she summoned something, but it was nothing more than a sphere of lightning magic.
  82.
  83. The woman pursed her lips. She needed to get a grip on this. A literal grip, and focus harder. One more time. A third attempt before she'd call it a night, or ask others for help. Maybe her mother had an answer to help? Either way, she needed to be successful.
  84. (Vivica Loirdne)
  85.
  86. Vivica Loirdne rolled a dice and it landed on: 3
  87.
  88. Attempt number three.
  89.
  90. A deep breath had been taken in and out, helpful for Vivica to relax and not stress out about summoning an elemental. She could do it. The woman had faith in herself even if she couldn't successfully summon anything this time.
  91.
  92. She was a novice in these arts. Despite seeing Thom summon demons and Indra in the past, it was because he had experience. Like fighting, perhaps that could help Vivica to release a stronger elemental. The will of battle, just like Thom's journal stated he could do!
  93.
  94. "Number three.. I'll have to document each attempt.." Maybe when she had children, this could be something to teach them! Either way, Vivica closed her eyes once more. A third time. A third attempt.
  95.
  96. Just seconds after Vivica closed her eyes, the same door from before appeared. Her hand reached for the knob. "Open." She spoke to herself softly and turned the knob. Again her focus was to pull out an elemental, or something like a cloud with lightning and water that could flop around like Thom's journal stated his own did when he first began practice.
  97.
  98. Vivica reached her hand in for a third time. A calm disposition, a clear head with the idea and design of the young elemental.
  99.
  100. (Roll 3) This time, however, was a bit different. In Vivica's grasp had been a waterball with lightning formed around it. She opened her eyes to spot it, a bit disappointed that she couldn't pull out an elemental that time, even with the focus she had given to bring it out.
  101.
  102. "Maybe.. I need mind training.. to form a link. Something weak, but able to successfully summon something." A nod of her head. A link with spirits was as strong as the emotional strength of the summoner, maybe that meant the same for elementals. Vivica thought on it. Mental strengthening might do her some good.
  103. (Vivica Loirdne)
