Hello, this is Lee Chayeon.
First of all, thank you so much for all your questions and your interest in the series.
At first, I expected around 30–50 submissions and thought I could answer them all… but over 150 questions came in!
That really showed me how much love and curiosity people have for the story. I’m deeply grateful — and also sorry that I couldn’t answer every single one. If I wrote everything out, it’d get way too long and exhausting to read (for both of us 😅), so I picked out and summarized the most relevant questions.

1️⃣ The Work
Q. About positions, reverses, and “reversible” relationships
There were a lot of questions about this.
If we’re talking strictly in terms of sexual roles: once a relationship is set as A×B, it doesn’t become B×A. However, a B×C situation is possible — in other words, a character who is a “bottom” to one person can be a “top” to someone else.

Q. Are there “tiers” among artificial wombs? Legally, they’re all treated equally — but due to social prejudice, some types of artificial wombs have a bad reputation or image.

Q. Can non–natural breeders have children together?
No. At least one of the two partners must be a natural breeder, regardless of whether they’re the receptive or donor type.

Q. How long will Season 2 be?
I’m trying to keep it roughly the same length as Season 1.

Q. Is Jin’s security bot the only one, or are there more inside the scanner? There are many distributed inside the scanner system.

Q. Differences between the Eastern and Western regions?
Yes —
East: Eastern/Asian aesthetic
West: Modern aesthetic The West is financially wealthier.
There are also Northern and Southern regions, which I’ll explain in more detail in a bonus update coming on the 23rd or 24th.

Q. What inspired the worldbuilding?
Tsutomu Nihei’s BLAME!.

Q. About the “Scanner” organization
Revenue:
Structured like a pyramid — a few “aces” sustain the whole system. Due to failed early planning, the company’s size has outgrown its income, so it’s currently struggling.
Employees: Think of them like private mercenaries or law enforcement — their work is mostly physical and hands-on.



Part 2
The Characters

🩸 Jin (진)
Q. Why did Jin cut his hair?
Because it got matted and unfixable from dried blood, so he cut it off.

Q. Does Jin believe Charin is dead?
Yes.

Q. Besides the time Charin died, has Jin ever cried?
Probably when he was born. Or maybe if he stubbed his pinky toe on a door frame.

Q. Did Jin ever try to visit the resurrection lab again to recover Charin’s body?
No — under Tehir’s control, he’s not allowed to leave the Scanner. And Jin isn’t the type to place meaning on a body after death.

Q. Would Jin have sacrificed himself if it meant saving Charin?
Yes. That would’ve been the perfect “completion” of Jin’s character arc.

Q. Are Jin and Maltese doing well?
Yes. But Maltese isn’t bonded to Jin emotionally — it updates itself to match him, kind of like ChatGPT.

🔥 Tehir (테히르)
Q. Why did Tehir collapse onto Kimoto’s chest to listen to his heartbeat?
He has a habit of checking whether someone he hurt is still alive afterward.

Q. In “You’re disgusting right now,” how much of that was sincere?
Most of Tehir’s harsh words toward Kimoto aren’t from genuine hatred. They come from frustration about his own inferiority and a desire to control the relationship. He also deliberately provokes Kimoto to get a human reaction out of him. Since Kimoto is the only person Tehir can meet, and he acts too mechanically, Tehir feels lonely and restless.

Q. How would Tehir react if he saw Jin wearing an apron?
He’d feel an unfamiliar discomfort — his sense of victimhood would kick in, and he’d interpret that emotion as hostility toward himself.

Q. What if Tehir met Charin?
They’d absolutely hate each other — almost to the point of wanting to kill. Both have strong self-loathing, so seeing someone who mirrors their own flaws would be unbearable.

💻 Kimoto (키모토)
Q. What kind of developer is Kimoto?
He builds machines and develops programs — mainly focusing on firewalls and antivirus systems.

Q. When do the thorns on Kimoto’s neck appear?
When he senses extreme danger.

Q. Has Kimoto ever masturbated while thinking of Tehir?
Yes. (When he was younger.)

Q. Has Kimoto ever had sex?
No 😭

Q. Was Kimoto friendless in school like Hyehan?
Not exactly. He learned social skills later in life, so he did have friends — but mostly treated them like analysis subjects, cycling through “auto-actions” to keep up appearances. So his relationships were very superficial.

Q. Why does Kimoto call himself a “brown poodle”?
It started as a joke or icebreaker, but subconsciously it’s a defense mechanism — he despises his “insect” true form and uses humor to mask it.

🐺 Garon (가론)
Q. Is Garon bigger than Charin?
Yes — he’s the largest of them all.

Q. Is Garon an innie?
Yes… (as in: yes, he’s “retracted.”) *(this is about nipples i think?)

Q. Did Garon’s personality change as he grew up?
Yes. After puberty, he suddenly grasped the logic of power and ecology. As a child, he was almost lifeless — like an object.

🌙 Hyehan (혜한)
Q. What’s Hyehan’s favorite pajamas?
He doesn’t have a specific favorite, but he likes silk material the most.

Q. What color are Hyehan & Charin’s child’s hair and eyes?
Eyes: gray. Hair: lime green.

Q. Hyehan’s favorite part of Charin’s body? His chest.

Q. What does Hyehan want Charin to call him? He says he wants to be called “oppa,” but deep down, what he really wants most is for Charin to say his name.

💀 Charin (차린)
Q. Why does Charin hate seafood?
He finds the smell fishy and gross — especially oysters.

Q. If Charin hadn’t gotten involved in the drug trade, would he and Jin have been happy? Charin’s the type who only wakes up after losing everything — so probably not. He needed that fall to change.

Q. Is Charin also an innie? Yes, he is.

Q. If Charin had been the one from Sunnyside instead of Tehir?
Sunnyside is karmically structured to always reach the opposite of its original intention. So it would depend on what kind of duty Charin was assigned — the outcome could have been very different.

Q. What did Charin feel for Hyehan before he died?
He was confused — like, “Wait, am I actually dying?” His emotions were strange and mixed at that moment.

Q. If Jin and Charin had failed to kill the trafficker and been sold instead?
At least Charin might’ve found happiness.

🧩 ETC / Misc. Character Info
Q. Heights (rough order):
Garon > Charin, Tehir > Ael > Jin, Hyehan, Kimoto But they’re all pretty close in height, so I don’t think it matters much.

Q. Birthdays?
I didn’t plan individual birthdays — too many characters 😭 But roughly by season:
Spring: Ael, Charin
Summer: Hyehan, Jin
Autumn: Rim, Kimoto
Winter: Garon, Tehir

Q. Who still believes in Santa?
Ael and Garon. But Garon doesn’t actually believe — he just goes, “Ael said he’s real, so I guess he is.”

Q. What happened to the Goddess?
From a mechanical standpoint, she’s been destroyed. Her heart was damaged beyond repair, so “dead” is the correct description.

Q. In a fight between:
Tehir (not attacked by Jin) vs. Charin (not addicted to drugs, eyes intact) → Tehir would win.

Q. Voice types:
Tehir: announcer-like voice
Garon: low, monotone
Kimoto: soft, slightly weak voice
Jin: husky, rock-vocal type
Hyehan: half-air, half-voice tone
Charin: echoey, cave-like

Q. If they were modern students, who’d get the best grades?
Tehir and Hyehan.

Q. Body hair?
Everyone’s body hair matches their hair color. Originally, Jin was supposed to have a light trail of hair from his lower stomach to his crotch, but it was removed for censorship reasons. The characters with the least body hair are Hyehan and Tehir.

Q. Who’s aware they’re good-looking? Hyehan. Tehir used to know when he was younger, but now, due to self-loathing, his perception of his own looks is distorted. Jin just goes, “People say I’m tall and handsome, I guess?”

Q. IQs:
High: Kimoto, Hyehan, Tehir
Medium: Rim, Charin
Low: Ael, Garon, Jin

Q. Their scent / fragrance?
Tehir: rose or shampoo scent
Kimoto: cotton
Garon: faint smell of blood sometimes
Jin: just sweat and skin

Charin: cool/clean type scent

Q. How do the Security Dogs feel to touch? Some have short fur, others have smooth metallic surfaces.

Q. Favorite colors?
Sky blue and bluish gray.

Q. Your daily routine?
I wake up, work, eat, take a walk… and then go back to work. (A classic artist life 😭)

Q. Easiest character to draw vs hardest? Easiest: Jin. Hardest: Tehir.

Q. Who’s your favorite character?
I love them all~ ❤️

Q. Works that influenced you the most?
Piriri! Tto Hooero JAGUAR by Kyosuke Usuta
BLAME! by Tsutomu Nihei
(So she’s influenced by both absurd comedy and dystopian sci-fi — explains a lot.)

Q. When did you start drawing?
I started as a hobby. In my senior year of high school, I tried out for art school entrance exams, but didn’t get accepted to a university.

Q. In the Season 1 afterword, you wrote: “I prefer joy over satisfaction, so I tried to leave an impression like that.” What did you mean?
Oh, I wrote that weirdly because I was out of my mind then 😭
It’s like this — when you win money from gambling, your dopamine spike isn’t from winning, but from the act of gambling itself. Same with crane games — you get more dopamine while playing than when you actually get the toy.
So people don’t gamble to win; they gamble to gamble. They don’t want the prize — they want the thrill of trying.
Humans get addicted not to the “perfect present,” but to the positive future they’re chasing. Even if I tried to phrase it properly, it’s hard to explain...
To sum it up:
“A certain amount of uncertainty makes love and passion stronger.”
(That’s… surprisingly profound.)

Q. Which parts of the characters do you focus on most when drawing lately?
Perspective and body movement — since I’m still weak in those areas.

Q. Favorite top/bottom dynamics (공수 키워드)? Honestly, I like them all! But I don’t really care for big height differences between seme/uke.

Q. Is your next work also BL?
Yes! I don’t really know how to draw non-BL comics 😂 If I did another genre, I’d probably just join as an illustrator.

Q. Will there be official merch, signings, collab cafés, or print editions?
I want to — but those things are beyond my control 😭 (If any industry people are reading this, please contact me!)
I might make some self-funded merch in the future though.

Q. Which character would you want to travel with?
Jin.
And who would you not want to travel with? Tehir, Charin, Garon, Hyehan… and Ael. 😭

Q. What kind of music do you listen to while working?
Everything — from otaku songs to idol tracks to Korean hip-hop! My favorite artist is Seo Taiji (5th–7th albums era).

Q. When and how did you start planning Sunnyside Daycare Classmates?
Between 2020 and 2022, I was really sick. I couldn’t move much and started thinking, “Am I dying?” It made me sentimental — I regretted a lot of things. So I promised myself: If I get better, I’ll just do everything I’ve ever wanted — no regrets. That’s how I started this story.

*IIRC she suffers from myopathy. (Tinfoil but maybe Tehirs POV about his struggles, being bedridden etc, not being able to move might be inspired by the authors health struggles too.

4️⃣ Upcoming Information (곧 드러날 정보)

Q. Are Tehir’s horns a real part of his body? Yes — they’re his biological horns, not accessories.

Q. Charin’s body— is it human?
Yes, but with slight structural differences. His “womb” is artificial.
(So Charin’s body is engineered to resemble human biology, but his reproductive system is synthetic — part of the artificial womb lore.)

Q. Kimoto and the bug — what’s their relationship?
I’ll reveal that in the main story.
(This is one of the biggest unanswered mysteries — fans suspect the “bug” is a literal organism linked to Kimoto’s creation or corruption.)

Q. Why does Tehir’s halo disappear when he’s with Kimoto?
Because when Tehir is mentally unstable, his system suppresses that halo output. Being around Kimoto destabilizes him — emotionally and neurologically — so the halo shuts off automatically.

Q. Why does Jin’s blood have that color? Because of internal corrosion. His blood’s composition has changed due to degradation from within.

Q. Are Jin’s prosthetic parts made of Scanner tech?
Yes — partially. They’re based on Scanner technology, modified for his body.

Q. Is Garon’s left eye camera linked to the Scanner?
Yes — it’s connected through a closed circuit. Basically, it can send data but not receive outside interference. (It’s like a firewall-protected surveillance module.)

Q. Is there a chance of “resurrection” for the characters who died?
There is always a “chance,” but you’ll have to wait for the story itself.


Q. What is “Mokran”? (목란)
You’ll find out in Season 3.
(We know from hints that “Mokran” refers to the artificial womb system and cloning facility — probably central to Charin’s backstory.)

Q. What is Tehir’s real name?
That will be revealed at the very end.

Q. When will Season 3 begin?
After a break. I’ll announce it once I’ve rested a bit!

Q. Any final words for fans?
