  2. Seika 5
  3. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  4. Meanwhile, Seika has followed the suspicious person, who's headed in the direction of the dagashi shop. He goes past it and turns the corner. Seika continues to follow him but realizes that he noticed that she's there.
  5.
  6. >Suspicious Man: ...You...
  7. >Seika: ......
  8. >Suspicious Man: You're also bait...
  9. >Seika: Bait...?
  10. >Suspicious Man: You were lured here by bait and will become bait...You'll all...become bait...!
  11.
  12. He attacks Seika. A familiar appears. Seika realizes that the familiar has been using the person to lure other people here.
  13.
  14. >Suspicious Man: You'll become bait... You'll become bait...
  15. >Seika: (I have to hurry and save him...!) You're...a familiar, aren't you?
  16. >Familiar: #@*%#*!
  17. >Seika: Which means...you're not human...! (...Not that I'm one to talk either...It's shameful, but...) I won't forgive you for trying to do evil things at this housing complex...
  18.
  19. As a magical girl, she swears she'll defeat it.

  22. Reira 7
  23. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  24. On the way home after going shopping with Mito, Reira is happy because she got her book and Mito is happy because she's looking forward to eating the sweets Reira will make. Reira says they should get together that Sunday to make them at her place. Mito agrees, but she spots something. At first, Reira thinks she's pointing to the suspicious person poster, which makes Reira gloomy again.
  25. But no, Mito's pointing to something underneath the poster. It's their "acorn bank". A long time ago, when they were little, they would pick up acorns and stored them in a box, which they called their acorn bank. There were plenty of acorns around the neighborhood and they gathered a good number of them. They have fun remembering the good old days, and Reira wonders why such a fun memory has to be located underneath the poster.
  26. She's about to suggest that they all look for acorns again sometime, when she notices someone who looks like Seika leaving the shopping district. Mito agrees that it does look like Seika, but they can't tell for sure from this distance. They wonder if it's her or not. Mito thinks it might be, since she said she had something to do. But Reira wonders what business Seika could have in the shopping district.
  27.
  28. That's when Reira feels something stirring in her heart. It only increases the following day, when she learns that someone who resembled the man in the poster was caught at the shopping district.

  32. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  33. The news has spread about the suspicious person getting caught in the shopping district. It wasn't like he was caught in midst of a crime, he turned himself in. But since he was being manipulated by the familiar, he has no memories of doing anything. As a result, people suspected that he was being possessed by a fox or something, turning the story into a ghost story, but things calmed down after a while.
  34.
  35. At the park, the girls are talking about the incident. Mito reports that the person was someone from the housing complex after all. She finds it strange that he doesn't remember anything. Seika says she's glad it's over, but Reira is oddly quiet. Finally, Reira asks Seika if she was the one they saw on their way home yesterday, near the shopping district. Seika is silently in panic, realizing that they must've seen her on her way home. She decides to play dumb. Mito buys it, but Reira doesn't completely buy it. And Seika knows it. Just as she's about to try to convince Reira, she senses a familiar and lets out a shout. Reira notices and asks what's wrong, much to Seika's dismay.

  40. Seika again tries to play dumb. She claims that she just remembered she has something she needs to do. Reira asks what she needs to do. Seika tries to lie and say that it's something at home, apologizes, and leaves.
  41.
  42. Mito wonders what's wrong with Seika and is about to ask Reira, but quickly changes the subject, wondering if it's an urgent thing Seika needs to get done. The girls decide to go home.
  43.
  44. Mito thinks to herself about how she couldn't say that Seika was acting funny. She's afraid of going any further with that conversation.
  45. The girls felt like they shouldn't worry about it anymore, but...

  49. Reira returns home, sighing again. Her mom comments on it and then asks if something's wrong. She's been her mother for so many years, she can tell if something's bothering Reira. Reira says that something isn't quite right. Her mom offers to help, but Reira says she wants to clear it up herself.
  50. Her mom tells her that ever since her dad passed away, Reira has a tendency to shoulder everything on herself, so she needs to let her mom know. That being said, Reira thinks she should go back outside, since she might be able to think better that way. Her mom tells her to cut back on playing out at night, since there's still a suspicious guy running around, and asks where she's planning to go.
  51.
  52. [You get to pick.
  53.
  54. A) To the roof
  55. B) To the shopping district
  56.
  57. As before, first I'll go with A]
  58.
  59. Reira thinks it'll clear things up if she looks at the sky and tells her mom she'll head to the roof.
  60.
  61.

  63. Reira 9 (End No2)
  64. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  65. Reira tells her mom she'll head to the roof. Her mom tells her to go buy some stew roux. Reira wonders why her mom keeps forgetting to buy key ingredients.
  66.
  67. On the roof, Reira takes in the fresh air. It makes her forget what she wanted to know so much. A connection between Seika and the suspicious person? There's no way there could be one. She wonders why she was suspecting there was one. There's no way Seika could be involved! She was just worried, that's all.
  68. She quietly thinks to herself that she should stop talking about this. If she presses Seika any further, it'll just ruin their relationship. She decides to just talk like they usually do tomorrow.
  69.
  70. >Reira: Seika...Mito...Like always...See you tomorrow...
  71.

  80.
  81. Something about the shopping district is bothering Reira, but she's not sure what it is. She tells her mom she's heading to the shopping district.
  82.
  83. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  84. Seika 7
  85. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  86. Seika manages to defeat another familiar in the shopping district. She notices that they're consistently appearing there, and wonders if she should investigate the reason. For now though, she'll...
  87. Just then, a voice interrupts her. It's Reira. Reira doesn't know who's there, but she can sense someone's presence. Seika tries to hide and silently prays for Reira not to find her. After a while, Reira leaves. Seika silently apologizes and hopes Reira won't notice "this world".
  88.
  89. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  90. Mito 7
  91. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  92. Although Mito and Reira were doing their best not to worry about Seika, Reira finally brings it up to Mito at school. She tells Mito that after they parted ways yesterday, she went back to the shopping district. She's not trying to play detective or anything, but something was bothering her so she went to the source, hoping for an answer. That just made her further suspect that the one they saw the other day was Seika.
  93.
  94. Reira asks Mito for her opinion. Mito tries to say that it was just their misunderstanding, but Reira continues, bringing up Seika's odd behavior at the park.
  95. Finally, Reira decides that they should meet at the park after school and talk about it.
  96.
  97. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  98. Mito 8
  99. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  100. >Reira: ...Mito...could you come with me...? After school...let's talk...the three of us...at the housing complex park...
  101.
  102. Mito's confused and uneasy. Her classmate notices that she's spacing out more than usual. The other classmate asks if she's seen a fairy or something. But Mito isn't even listening. She realizes what time it is and hurries home, much to the frustration of the classmates who wanted to bully...er... tease her more.
  103.
  104. Mito comments on how the three of them went home the way they usually do, having fun talking like always. But the closer they got to the park, they talked less and less. And then...
  105.
  106. >Seika: .....
  107. >Reira: .....
  108. >Mito: ......
  109. >Seika: ...What's wrong?
  110. >Mito: Eh...!
  111.
  112. Seika notices that something's different. Mito struggles to answer her, so Reira begins the conversation.
  113.
  114. ~~~~~~~~
  115. Seika 8
  116. ~~~~~~~~
  117. >Reira: ........Seika...There's something we'd like to talk to you about...
  118. >Mito: (Reira...!)
  119. >Seika: ...Talk...About what?
  120. >Reira: You see...
  121. >Seika: ...Yeah...
  122. >Reira: It's about yesterday, but...
  123.
  124. Reira confesses that she went to the shopping district yesterday, after they went home, and that she thinks she saw Seika there. Seika silently thinks about how Reira saw her and wonders what she should say. She still doesn't want to tell Mito and Reira about the existence of magical girls. She silently begs Reira not to ask. As Reira tries to ask her about the reason why she was there, Seika finally bursts and screams for her to stop.
  125.
  126. >Mito: Waah!
  127. >Reira: ...Seika...
  128. >Seika: ...Ah! (...What should I do...!? Without thinking...I...)
  129.
  130. Awkward silence ensues. Mito asks Seika if she really doesn't want to tell them. Seika tries to tell them that's not the case. She apologizes for yelling and Reira apologizes for pressing her. Seika tries to insist she wasn't at the shopping district, then notices that Mito is starting to cry.
  131.
  132. >Mito: Seika...are you mad...?
  133. >Seika: I, I'm not mad! It's just, I...
  134. >Reira: Mito, it's my fault! Sorry...Seika...
  135.
  136. After that, Mito continued to cry while Seika and Reira both fall silent. To Seika, it felt like several hours passed. She knows it's her mistake, and that she should have been paying more attention to her surroundings. It resulted in doubt forming within the group.
  137. Eventually, they all went home one by one, and Seika feels like she doesn't have any memory of going home.
  138.
  139.
  140. ~~~~~~~~
  141. Reira 10
  142. ~~~~~~~~
  143. Reira remembers when she asked Seika for the reason why she was there, only for Seika to yell at her in response. She thinks about how that's the first time she's ever seen Seika like that. Reira feels guilty, thinking that it's because she pushed Seika to answer. Still, she's certain that someone else was there, and she thinks that she did sense Seika there.
  144.
  145. But she doesn't want to pursue the topic any further, but at the same time she doesn't want things to be as they are. She continues to struggle to come up with an answer.
  146.
  147. That's when Kyuubey appears...
  148.
  149. ~~~~~~~~
  150. Reira 11
  151. ~~~~~~~~
  152. Reira has received the magical girl contract offer from Kyuubey, who affirms that she can have any wish granted.
  153. At first, she can't believe it. Even when she slowly realizes it's real, she can't think of a wish right away. Then she realizes she does have one: she wants to restore her relationship with Seika to the way it used to be. But...
  154.
  155. >Reira: U, Um...Kyuubey-chan. I do have a wish, but... that's something I have to take care of myself...so, sorry, but...I won't become a magical...
  156.
  157. After saying that, Kyuubey tells her to think it over some more, and then left, saying he'd return when the time comes.
  158.
  159. >Reira: Kyuubey...and...magical girls.............He'll grant...a wish...?
  160.
  161. ~~~~~~~~
  162. Seika 9
  163. ~~~~~~~~
  164. >Reira: If the one I saw was you, Seika... If at all possible...I'd like it if you...told us the reason why...
  165. >Seika: STOP!
  166.
  167. Seika thinks about what happened. She reacted in the worst way possible, one that only increased Reira's suspicions/doubt. But she can't afford to let Mito and Reira know that she's a magical girl, caught up in a never-ending fight against witches.
  168.
  169. She remembers when she made the contract with Kyuubey.
  170. Seika is determined to keep her secret, but at the same time clear Reira's doubts. Even if she has to lie to do so. The only thing left to worry about is the timing. She sighs and silently pleads to Reira to forget everything.
  171.
  172. ~~~~~~~~
  173. Mito 9
  174. ~~~~~~~~
  175. Mito is still crying in her apartment. That was the first time she's seen Seika like that, and that was also the first time there was an actual vocal argument in their group. She wonders why this happened and what Seika wants to keep a secret so badly. Just then, her mom comes into her room, wondering if Mito's crying. Mito tries to lie, saying her eyes were just itchy, so she itched them until tears came out. Her mom doesn't buy it at first, but Mito insists that's the truth. Finally, her mom gives in and tells Mito that she has something important to say.
