- Change of Plans
- Since they announced yesterday that AGDQ submissions open on September 4 (one day after my birthday yay), I'm going to switch things around for this week a little bit. I was expecting submissions to open up in October, so I thought I had a lot more time to practice and work on things. But with only one month to go, I need to speed things up on that front.
- First, no 306% runback this week. Maybe I'll do it in September or October after the submissions are done - 4:4x or 4:3x are still out there for the taking, as is sub-2:10 in 103%.
- Similarly, I decided to already start my 12-hour challenge. One of my goals is to get a good enough run of Snoopy's Grand Adventure to submit it, so don't want to wait til the weekend to start that. My first day of practice went very well, and there is actually some pretty awesome speed stuff in that game. I'm excited to get my first run of it on Friday (within the 12 hours of total learning time) and then hopefully grind out something really good by the end of the month.
- Also, it's time to go hard for 41 in DKC2. If I can get to that level, then I can probably be considered for a race at AGDQ. I need to go hard on IL practice before I jump into runs again, as there is significant room to improve. Here's the levels I'll be working on:
- 1-5: Topsail Quick Clash
- 2-1: 2-1 Jump
- 2-4: Faster jump to warp throw
- 3-2: Everything about it always (+goal swap)
- 3-3: gap rolls
- 4-1: Why am I so bad at this?
- 4-4: gap rolls/moonwalk
- 5-1: roll under kloak
- 5-4: better damageless
- 5-5: Obviously
- 6-1: Bleeding time here
- 6-2: Why am I so slow?
- 6-4: Again, why so slow?
- 6-5: Bad at early chain jumping
- 6-6: Especially the Squawks section
- 7-1: Bad
- 7-B: Diddy for last section better
- βAlso, Nam and I are going to submit DKC2 any% 2-Player Team. It's kind of fun to do in a co-op style, and even though the run itself isn't significantly different, there are a few subtleties and the potential for hilarious disaster that make it interesting.
