I

Postmillennial anger and frustration has forced our hands to unfurl bombs of rhetoric upon our psychocultural communities. Leftists and rightist snakes eating their own tails meeting in strange crossroads, sorting out who's crazy and who's not. It would all be so much easier if there wasn't so much truth in the paranoia, or so much lie in the officially sanctioned "known knowns". Not to mention our constant state of media induced unreality, shifting senses of self, and our illusionary paradigms. The veils lift and fall so often and so fast that we only trust the veils to be real. Yet there are truths, and we are free to accept them or dismiss them.

To make a clear declaration of Fascism would simplify things for everyone, but the US Governing Authority in America doesn't care to let that bell sound, or else, have slipped so accidentally into this infamous tradition that they truly don't know. Either way, it is not presumptuous to call America Fascist, at least not in any knowingly historical context. So much emphasis has been placed on the horror of the European Death Camps of WWII that we forget Fascism's humble origins as a State of Corporate and Governmental unity. The lovemaking of the American Government and Wallstreet has long been a public affair, and it has reached its perfect union in the orgiastic ways and means of George Bush Jr. and his handlers. While precedented, it is surely unmatched in its excess of indiscretion.

For many the fornication between thieves and money launderers and their supposed rulers, while discomforting, does not earn the US comparison to the famous Fascists of 20ᵗʰ Century Europe. It is in deed that the Evil Enemies of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness are joined together. Yet our American legacy is one that in small and large part is an homage to the fascists of Italy, Germany, and many others. To see this, one must only look at the endless wars for profit and distraction, the illogical criminality of thousands of nonviolent actions (from being homeless, to protesting, to public art), the demonizing of Muslims, blacks, immigrants, homosexuals, and women, among others, as scapegoats and media tools, its control over media and its attempts to control viewing practice, and the massive imprisonment of the American population (totaling more than 2,000,000 citizens, and not including the thousands imprisoned in countries outside of the US by our Soldiers, Spies, and Mercenaries). Our Empire has not even come close to finishing its work.

Some will still argue that any comparison is exaggeration because we have not even approached the remarkable evil of European Fascism that was the Concentration Camps built for mass extermination. It is easy to concede that nothing within the modern US has approached the level of refined evil that decimated millions, including the majority of my own family. Yet America has many times made use of this methodology in its international conflicts. (Examples include: the creation of Project Phoenix for the purpose of mass killing in Vietnam; the filling of mass graves with Iraqis in the Gulf War, and randomly targeting thousands of Iraqis in Fallujah in the second Iraq war; blatantly attacking noncombatant citizens of Serbia, in a style not too different from the napalming of Vietnam, the bombing of Dresden in WWII, or for that matter, the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki; and killing hundreds of prisoners in Afghanistan.) Nor can we ignore the significance of America's training and leading of death squads all over the world - from Latin America to Asia to the Middle East and on. Nor can we ignore the nearly genocidal impact of America's economic and health policies in the Third World. In light of the longstanding popularity of eugenics among America's political and business elite, it hardly seems unintended.

Even if we are to assume that the American landscape has been unblemished by the horrors of death camps, we miss the harbingers of such institutions. While some camps in Europe (and those replicated in the Soviet Union and elsewhere) were by design massive killing grounds, most begin primarily as large prisons for what was an ever expanding population of undesirable people, and became homes of slave labor. Indeed, the free labor afforded by the Jews, Communists, Roma, POWs and others was essential for sustaining the German Economy during years of war. The growing prison population, and the emerging dependence on slave labor, are two qualities of the Fascist Concentration Camp which have found their parallel in the United States. More tan 2,000,000 peoples are incarcerated in the American Jails; a higher percentage of its citizens than any other country. In California alone, 21 jails have been built since 1980 (including the largest in the World, located in Los Angeles) and one in every 222 residents is behind bars. In many of these prisons, some owned by private companies, prisoners make as little as $0.21 and hour making clothes for Graduates and Marines, as telemarketers, or manufacturing everything from ATM cards to Cars. Many transnational corporations have brought their business back to the US from overseas to capitalize on these unbeatable labor conditions

If it is easier to limit your historical analog to those things which are most explicitly equitable, then perhaps the historical presence of Nazi Collaborators, European Fascists, and Literal Nazis within America's ruling parties and their varying administrations is distinct enough to allow such comparisons. Immediately after WWII American Intelligence agencies recruited numerous top Nazis to spy on the Soviets during the Cold War. Many Nazi scientists and doctors were secreted away from international prosecutors to aid the American Nuclear and Bio-Chemical warfare projects (a program that was innocuously named Project Paperclip). For decades the CIA and other American Intelligence agencies worked to either protect Nazis and Collaborators in Europe, or else help guide them to safter havens in the US and Latin America. A similar effort, only for the sake of Nazi wealth (made up of stolen treasuries, personal fortunes, and the fortunes made by international businesses who collaborated with Nazi Germany) was conducted by the CIA's famous director, and a known collaborator, Allen Dulles, with the help of The Vatican.

In the beginnings of the 1952 Eisenhower-Nixon campaign, the Republican Party formed an "Ethnic Division", which recruited the 'displaced Fascists' who arrived in the United States after World War II. Nixon needed Nazis because both he and Allen Dulles wished to use them to offset the Jewish vote for the Democrats. By this time hundreds, perhaps thousands, of Nazis were employed by several U.S. agencies, from the CIC to the CIA some used covertly overseas, and others, equally as guilty of wartime atrocities, were brought into the United States for domestic political purposes. Over the past fifty years, it is now documented, these Americanized, fugitive Nazi war criminals have been involved in, and in many cases placed in charge of, many U.S. government covert operations: international weapons smuggling, drug cartels, Central American death squads, right wing anti-Communist dictatorships, LSD mind control experiments, the Republican Nation Committee's Ethnic Heritage Councils, and the Presidential campaigns of Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, George Bush Sr. and George W. Bush.

Perhaps we should deal with the here and now, and with those people whom we allow to run our country. George W. Bush is the Great-grandson of a major American financier of the Nazi Party, George Herbert Walker. Walker placed his son-in-law, Prescott Bush, on the Board of Directors of Union Banking Co., which funneled Wall Street money to the emerging Nazi party. Walker and Bush amassed a fortune building fronts for I.G. Farben, the German industrial giant, many of which were seized, along with $3,000,000 in assets from UBC, during the 1940's and 1950's by the US Government under the Trading With the Enemy Act. As shameless as their collusion was it didn't prevent their family from becoming powerful businessmen, politicians, and members of the intelligence community in the US for years to come. While this might not seem to impugn G.W. Bush, a look at his current associations shouldn't comfort us.

The mastermind of the current group of Republicans is Karl Rove, whose grandfather was Karl Heinz Roverer. Roverer was Reich-Statthalter---Nazi State Party Chairman---for his region. He was also a partner and senior engineer in the Roverer Sud-Deutche Ingenieurburo A. G. engineering firm, which built the Birkenau death camp. Under the guidance of Rove, the Republican White House has followed a very familiar pattern of consolidation of power, propaganda, and domestic repression. From the Reichstag like effect of September 11, to the state of constant war (against "terror" no less), to the PATRIOT Act, to the illegal incarceration of Arab men, America has done a fair impersonation 1930's Germany. Rove is also considered the man responsible for Arnold Schwarzenegger's successful campaign for Governor of California. Schwarzenegger's father was a high ranking Nazi SA officer in Austria, but we shouldn't worry about hereditary loyalties since in the last few decades Schwarzenegger has supposedly renounced Hitler. Regardless, it would be difficult for Joseph Goebbels, or even Leni Riefenstahl, to imagine a more spectacular symbol of the union of the great Facist tradition of Europe and the new American Facism.

"Along with friends of the Morgan Bank and General Motors, certain Du Pont backers financed a coup d'état that would overthrow the President with the aid of a $3 million-funded army of terrorists. The object was to force Roosevelt to take orders from businessmen as part of a fascist government, or face the alternative of imprisonment and execution. They finally settled on one of the most popular soldiers in America, General Smedly Butler of Pennsylvania, to be recruited for the role of an American Hitler. Butler was horrified, but played along until, a short time later, he notified the White House of the plot. Roosevelt considered having the leaders of the houses of Morgan and Du Pont arrested, but feared that it would create and unthinkable crisis in the midst of a depression and perhaps another Wall Street crash."

"In 1952 Nixon had formed an Ethnic Division within the Republican National Committee. 'Displaced Fascists, hoping to be returned to power by and Eisenhower-Nixon "liberation" policy signed on' with the committee. In 1053, when Republicans were in office, the immigration laws were changed to admit Nazis, even members of the SS. They flooded into the country. Nixon himself oversaw the new immigration program. As vice president, he even received Eastern European Fascists in the White House. Even members of the Waffen SS could emigrate to America and campaign for the Republican Party, so long as they claimed they had only fought on the Eastern front against communism. By the 1960s ex-Facists were emigrating from Argentina to jump on the Republican bandwagon. In 1968 Nixon promised that if he won the presidential election, he would create a permanent ethnic council within the Republican party. Previously the Ethnic Division was allowed to surface only during presidential campaigns. Nixon's promise was carried out after the 1972 election during George Bush's tenure as chairman of the Republican National Committee. The Croation Ustashis became an integral part of the campaign structure of Republican politics, along with several other Facist organizations."

Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.
