Norman feats

Young Norman Bates had a complicated relationship with his mother, Norma. Having lost his father in a freak accident, Norman was completely at the mercy of his mother in their isolated familial home, and her temperance was erratic to say the least. One moment, she was kind, loving and protective, the next she was locking the boy in a closet or subjecting him to other abuses. Norma began dating again and took in a boyfriend who used Norman as a punching bag. Fearing the physical blows and the experience of being replaced as his mother's man, the boy snapped and served them both poisoned tea. Not willing to let Mommy go away, Norman would taxidermy her body and keep her hidden away in the fruit cellar.

For years following his act of matricide, Norman would run the Bates Motel. Although he lived alone in the family house overlooking the motel, he would hold spirited conversation with his stuffed mother, who urged her son to kill women rooming there according to Norman. He'd don Norma's clothing and adopt her mannerisms before creeping down the hill, using his master keys to murder customers at their most vulnerable. [Norman Bates]() slew at least four more souls before he was finally apprehended in 1960.

Despite his multiple incarcerations in mental hospitals, Norman struggles with keeping his homicidal urges at bay. After all, it's impossible for a boy to defy his mother forever.
