Fan on:

sudo nvidia-settings -a "[gpu:0]/GPUFanControlState=1"
sudo nvidia-settings -a "[fan:0]/GPUCurrentFanSpeed=100

Fan auto:

#!/bin/sh
sudo nvidia-settings -a "[gpu:0]/GPUFanControlState=0"



This used to work, now it says:

ERROR: The control display is undefined; please run `nvidia-settings --help` for usage information.
