  3. We will spend some time in the course reading and talking about how horror literature represents social issues. Thus, you will be asked to write a final research paper on some aspect of horror and society as you perceive it in the literature we explore. This final paper should follow the basic principles of formal research, be at least 7-10 (1500 words minimum) pages in length, and contain at least 5 primary (2-3 from our course text) and 5 secondary (at least 2 from our course readings) sources. Please be sure to use standard MLA guidelines for the paper. You will be asked to informally present this essay in class to share your interpretations and interest.
