Lavinia swiftly drew her sword, slashing the closest one in half. Saheeli pulled three more bandar from her pouch and set them loose, taking control of three more thopters, which in turn smashed into and disabled three others. Chandra fired off one apple-sized fireball after another, taking down six more thopters in quick succession. But for each thopter that fell, another took its place.
- “I’m not a killer,” Baan said. “You may all hate me, but I do not feel such an emotion toward any of you. So please trust me when I say that the Azorius have—under my watch—been both enthusiastic and efficient in the manufacture and production of my thopters. I therefore have more than enough to keep the three of you busy and, well, useless to any other endeavor save self-defense, rather indefinitely.”
