- >The large mask-clad White Fang member took out his scroll and glanced at it before putting it back
- >It was nearly time to go to work
- >This was his first time leading an operation, and he fought back his nerves
- >Most of the White Fang hardly survived their first few missions, and the commanders were no exception
- >Even though he was the lowest ranking member of the mission to acquire the information being put to use now, here he is, the last one still alive
- >He shakes his head, now wasn't the time to get lose in that mindset
- >He needed to be strong and focused to lead this group on their mission
- >He stood up from the rock he sat on
- >"Alright, listen up. We know what we have to do. Remember, our job is to keep the SDC occupied long enough so that Adam can take the supply train. Which means we can't just rush in and get slaughtered. We need to stay alive in order to keep them from being able to send reinforcements to the train. Understand?"
- >The small group of 5 Faunus nodded
- >There weren't many recruits left, word was spreading about their low success rate and high death toll
- >Not many Faunus had the resolve to just go out and die for seemingly nothing
- >But that would end today, he was sure of it
- >They had to succeed, there was no other option
- >And when they did, word would spread that they had managed to strike a blow to the SDC for the first time in years, not since they killed a member of it's board at the height of their power, 5 years ago
- >Who was that again? It was in all the papers, but this was before his time with the White Fang
- >Oh yea, Manfred Riktofin, the CEO's brother-in-law or something
- >He shook his head again, checking his scroll
- >Two minutes to show time
- >He quickly inspected his chainsaw before giving a hand signal to his men
- >The silently got up and started moving through the red forest to their target
- >The stopped on the top of a hill and waited for a moment
- >Soon they saw the train round a corner and speed through the guard station
- >Once it was out of sight, he gave the signal
- >One of the Faunus pressed a button on his scroll and several explosives they had planted earlier go off
- >"Now!"
- >The Faunus run down the hill and enter through a hole in the now ruined gate
- >SDC guards scramble, not knowing where they were being attacked from, due to the explosions being spread around the base
- >Alarms ring out, and the Faunus and SDC engage each other, dust shots and sword clashes echoing in the valley
- >He watches the few Faunus hold their own with the overwhelming numbers of the SDC before he leaps into action
- >The former Hunter-in-training leaps off the hill, his aura allowing him to jump straight into the fray
- >His saw buzzes to life as he lands in the middle of a group of SDC guards, sending the ones closer to him flying and the rest stumbling
- >He spins, sending his saw across the chest of the nearest guard
- >The blades rip apart his armor and tear his chest apart while he screams
- >He falls to the ground as the masked man moves to another guard, mowing them down with his saw
- >The Faunus press their attack with him at the helm, the bodies falling before them
- >"Fall back! Aaahhhgk!" is the last words of one of the officers as the saw rips him apart.
- >Soon the White Fang members reach their target, the armory
- >"Alright, let's dig in here. Restock with what they have if you need to. We need to keep them occupied until we get the signal from Adam.
- >The Faunus quickly do as he says, some refilling their dust while the others flip tables and arrange them as barricades forming a ring around the door
- >Soon enough, the guard's reinforcements arrive and the door gets kicked in
- >Canisters fly into the room before gas is released
- >They needed an out, fast
- >He quickly runs to a wall and brings his saw down, the blades tearing it apart
- >He makes a hole just large enough for himself before he turns to the Faunus
- >"Come on, quick!"
- >He pushes them each out of the room before leaping through the hole himself, dust shots hitting the wall around him
- >They regroup outside, but it's short lived, as the reinforcements that had flooded the armory with gas were soon upon them, dust shots flying everywhere
- >They hold them off, the Faunus's injuries mounting, as he moves through their lines, ripping them apart with his saw
- >He cuts through a guard as one of his men screams in pain, falling to the ground
- >He looks over to see the SDC fire at his broken body, ensuring his death
- >He was about to rush over and avenge him before another Faunus voice catches his ear
- >He turns again, seeing another go down and get executed by the SDC
- >He quickly makes his way to where the other three were
- >"We need to fall back. Start thinking of our escape."
- >"But sir, the mission?"
- >"Our mission was to create a distraction, not die. We've done our part."
- >He looks down at the Faunus, sensing his fear
- >The Faunus nods, and they soon start backing up towards the exit
- >The numbers of the SDC are almost too much, but they manage to reach the edge of the forest
- >He looks down to see his scroll flashing; mission complete.
- >"Go!"
- >"But sir!"
- >"I'll be right behind you. Go!"
- >The Faunus quickly make their escape
- >He turns to see them disappear into the trees
- >He slashes his chainsaw
- >A burst of aura sprays out from the spinning blades, sending the SDC back just long enough for him to turn and chase after the survivors of his team
- >He catches up with them a half mile from the SDC compound
- >"Do you think we bought him enough time, sir?"
- >He nods, catching his breath, "I got the all clear."
- >He looks at the ones still alive
- >Two didn't make it
- >It hurt worse knowing it was on his command
- >"Let's get back before the SDC come looking."
- >The Faunus get up and start heading for base
- >He silently makes a vow not to loose anyone else on his watch
