DBL - Kayel at Ground Zero with Pikan and Shroom

[2020-04-18 19:41] *[user]Kayel[/user] debated exactly what to do about that giant fallen crystal for a while. She didn't have the strength to lift or move it and even if she did, touching it was a big nope. Ground Zero felt so.. strange. It was oddly peaceful but there were tugs and pulls in all kinds of directions. The small Saiyan girl paced about the crystal and its gathered shards, giving the massive pillar a better look over. [color=cyan]"I can't lifts it.. but.. maybe I don't gots to..."[/color] Her gaze turned to the large mountain mass, up and up and further up than she could crane her head to gaze upon those larger top crystals. Kayel poked her pointer fingers together, shifting upon bare feet. [color=cyan]"Floyd.. I wants to helps you but the crystals is kinda likes your fire.. Can't touch them or they bites.. but still gotta move it and don't want it to go out.. I's sorry for the damages that has happened.. and peoples takin' your crystals.. Even Mister Master Lord Demigra tooked ones. I don't think he asked you either.. ..but I didn't ask Uncle Shroom to take his Aycharchy either.. I'll say sorry to him.. after I's here to say sorry to you. I dunno if I can fixes this crystal or if it can even helps.. but.. but I's gunna try. And maybe that can be a good sorry gift 'cause I know you keeps gettin' hurts Floyd.."[/color] Now, she of course didn't expect any sort of reply from a mountain. Just like when she would talk to plants. Or when she would previously talk to animals. Kayel's attention shifted back to that large pillar, lips pursing in thought and nose giving a little wriggle.

[2020-04-18 19:49] *[user]Pikan[/user] kind of had his fists on his hips. Blinking, head tilting, and just..... staring, at the sight before him. Was this some sort of mirage? A massive clay urn, glazed and blue and pretty, sat behind him, freshly full of water from the Mesmersnow region. Returning to the mountainous and rugged area with fresh supplies, he was [b]absolutely surprised[/b] to catch sight of someone he hadn't seen in.. easily weeks. Maybe months?.. Longer? Flummoxed. This girl showed up in weirder places than he did!

Leisurely, he strolled over towards her, as one does. Bare feet unaffected by the craggy, sharp rocks and ground. Even the scant glances at glittering crystals and flat angular edges sticking out of the ground didn't seem to bother his skin too awful much. Soon, he was up behind Kayel. Beaming his characteristic manic grin, a new sword sheath dangling from his hip with the handle facing forwards.

[2020-04-18 19:50] [user]Shroom[/user]: Errands and things. All kinds of stuff. Chronoa had him bouncing all over the place for this and that like some delivery boy. Shroom grumbled to himself as this was just as bad as Mechikaboola's errands at times, only Chronoa tended to have a much more shrill ear-piercing voice. Whatever had gotten into her, he wasn't keen on. Finally having some time to work on his own things, Shroom was sipping on a soda through a straw and made his way towards his HR3 at The Watch. He was certain that the Hybrid Road Runner Rover was going places.. however he didn't expect it to [b]already be gone![/b]

Shroom gagged the straw at the back of his throat and sent a spray of soda flying, eyes widening on the lack of ship in its mechanic's frame. [color=brown]"What the Hell?! Oh c'mon, man.."[/color] His soda was crunched in his hand, only to be flung aside with the mess of liquid as he grumbled and stomped over to the frame. [color=brown]"It didn't just get up and go by itself.."[/color]

[2020-04-18 19:56] *[user]Kayel[/user] was just about to do something, hands spreading out over the crystal pillar for a moment, hovering above before she hrm'd and removed her wand from her sleeve. A familiar scent was in the air, a familiar presence beyond sensing ki. It caused Kayel to stop, blinking once black, now purple eyes over at Pikan and smiling brightly. [color=cyan]"Uh.. you's eyes is open so I hope so's!"[/color] She even took a moment to inspect his gaze! Yep, Pikan's eyes looked normal alright. [color=cyan]"Hai Pikan! Is been a long times! I's not 'posta be here's and gots to gets back home fast soons 'fore someone knows. But how is you??"[/color] But someone knew already! Or would soon enough, because while Shroom would not see any signs of mechanical thievery of his vehicle, he might catch the glimpse of small familiar foot prints in the dirt around his working area leading right up to the frame and missing ship.
[2020-04-18 20:05] *[user]Pikan[/user] tilted his head. Had Kayel always had purple eyes? He couldn't remember.. No. He could. She was a saiyan. It was [b]weird[/b] that ones that weren't partially human to have anything but dark black eyes and hair! That was decidedly new. And curious! But by her tone and appearance, she was the same spritely fey girl he always knew. Perhaps, just a touch more magical and supernal than he remembered. She'd certainly developed further, on whatever winding, thorny, viney path that she was on. A cursory glance showed him she still bore all ten fingers, and presumably all ten toes.. So she couldn't have been suffering too awful much. That was good. One could never tell where THAT girl was going to show up, next.

"[color=orange]Ohh, I'm good. Stronger every day![/color]" He beamed, striking a heroic Superman pose. Short lived posturing, which segued into a glance around. This place was where he'd been accosted by that monstrous animal. This place was where spires and crystals had been crushed and shattered. "[color=orange]Got hurt a few days ago. Some big horn-nosed thing trampled out and kicked me aaaaalll the way to the next sector, down south! He kind of smashed into the stuff around here. I'd say watch your feet, but...[/color]" Noticing her.. floating. Hovering? Now he KNEW she was something beyond ki. Something these crystals weren't sucking the life out of.

[2020-04-18 20:06] [user]Shroom[/user]: Half-expecting a pink kai taking a joyride or some snoopy patroller getting curious, Shroom was about ready to unleash some Hell of his own. However, he was one to keep his work space tidy, even as far as to keep the ground groomed and tended to so he could see if the ship's takeoff and propulsion left unleveled or uneven marks in the ground. Nevermind those marks, he was interested in [b]other marks.[/b] These marks were special, familiar ones [i]made by little footprints that he knew[/i] all too well. [color=brown]"Aww no.. nuh nuh.. nah.. no nope nope.."[/color]

Shroom shook his head, grumbling as he neared and made a closer evaluation of those little footprints fresh to his [i]missing ship[/i] and sighed. [color=brown]"Squirt... Ugh.. Aaaand she had to go invisible to get 'round the detection alarms.. [i]sneaky lil' shit..[/i]"[/color] Granted that last part was said with an enduring chuckle, right hand rubbing the back of his neck.

Oh, he was pissed off alright. He was livid for a multitude of reasons! [color=brown]"Kekekekekeke..."[/color] Even that laugh was extra unhinged. He summoned his scythe to his grasp and dug the sharp butt end to the ground with a rough twist, red gaze focusing off over the Void Nexus horizon.

Kayel had cleaned up the whole area, using branches to rake up shards into piles and set crystals back where they broke from their clusters and spires. [color=cyan]"Oh? So that's what happened here's?.. Is you okays? I can help you feel better. I wanna helps Floyd feel betters too.. Floyd's crystals is the only parts that dun grows back and heals.. and some peoples has been takin' them! So maybe I can.. somehow fix the ones that gots brokened.. and that can maybe helps.. I dunno if the ones that got tooked can grow back.. 'specially if by bein' away.. they die..."[/color] Her wand was held in tight grasp against her chest almost lovingly, violet eyes wandering over the destruction. [color=cyan]"I knows accidents happens.. but.. some peoples fights and don't even care the damages they does.. and then there's the peoples who just.. takes the crystals.. It can be like someone just goin' and takin' someone's fingers.. it's wrong."[/color]

[color=orange]"I was really, really bruised and hurting, but then some.. lavender haired guy with a tail showed up, gave me half of some sort of magic bean and, uh.. mmmoooostly fixed the bruising and damage to my guts?"[/color] He offered, lifting his gambeson about the belly to expose his still slightly bruised, purple and black chest and stomach. Shaped like the bottom of a king rhino's hind foot.

[color=orange]"The crystals?... Do they even do anything for the environment?"[/color] He asked, earnestly. A brow raised, and one lowered. [color=orange]"All I've seen them do is eat energy. I've been training out here to hold them and not let them eat my ki. But, kinda... had to break some of them to carry them around in order to do that. Not many, though."[/color]

That's... ...I think 'cause they's the only things that don't heal up and the rest of Floyd heals from peoples breakin' the trees and grounds and stuffs, that they takes the energies kinda like foods, so that Floyd can heals all the rest like the big holes from blasts and stuffs... Why.. why would you.. do that?.. Just 'cause you could and wanted to?"[/color] She was clearly struggling to understand in her tone, not so accusing as the words themselves could have been.

Guess I gotta go hunt and collect a lil' Pure Soul.. kekeke.."[/color] Shroom snickered with a shake of his head and wrenched that scythe out from the ground, sweeping the debris of footprints up to the air. The cascade was stared at, the crimson of his oddly colored gaze dulling while that yellow sclera took on brightened hue, focusing on that soulistic trail. Since her "lights" had been active, he was able to pick up on that. Not having tracking installed in the HR3 wasn't going to bite his ass for the moment! Although not being able to sense Kayel was another matter.

Still, if he couldn't sense her, then Mechi couldn't either, so was it all that bad?... Yes. it still was because she wasn't in the safe zone and was out alone! Shroom took off in a violet-red streak, off on the hunt.

Small, quartz crystal sized chunks. Perhaps ten in all. At least they were cleanly cut. [color=orange]"All I knew about them was that if you touched them, they'd eat your energy. But I've been practicing touching the weakest ones, and keeping them from sucking the life out of me! Like holding a bitey lizard's jaws shit with your fingers."[/color]

Setting his handful of crystal fragments back in his pocket, just allowing the atmosphere to swallow up the little fragments of ki that he summoned up for his demonstration. [color=orange]"I've seen people fall out of the air from real high up and land on their faces as they came into ground zero. The crystals didn't seem to care much about them. There's not even really much life out here..."[/color] Looking left. Then right. Just craggy rocks and glowing minerals. [color=orange]"Lots of green growing things and animals everywhere the crystals aren't. They don't seem to like sharing very much. And do everything they can, not just some of the things they can. Takes a lot of effort and hungry to keep grass from growing on dirt..."[/color] Glancing at the big spires. [color=orange]"I didn't do it just for power. I did it to not die while living around them."[/color]

There's not lifes here's 'cause it knows to not be here's 'cause of the crystals. Even Neus tolds me so and he's a big big birdy that was huntin' for foods. He knows to not be nears the crystals."[/color]

Kayel folded her arms across her chest, wand still in grasp.. [color=cyan]"Just 'cause you pick to stay here's and picks to live here's when all other stuffs is like uh no, this is not a good home spots, and you pick to take the crystals to try to forces it to be your home spots and give yourselfs the powers to try to force to stay here's does not mean you didn't do it just for powers.. that's 'zactly what it means 'cause you wanted the powers to be here livin' even though there's lots of other better spots and all other life here's dun live here's."[/color] Her chest puffed up, frown growing. [color=cyan]"That is differents Pikan! Animals and plants and us has lifes that lives a little and then dies.. and planets has uh.. oh.. uh... heart cores.. and they keeps the planets alives. Floyd is not a planet. Floyd is all these spots of grounds that comes from all these other spots of worlds and losts and sometimes peoples and animals and plants too. Animals and plants eats each other to lives, just like we eats. Floyd eats energies. Floyd grows the plants and grounds back usin' the energies and still gives foods and Floyd is growin' too! Floyd grew ones times already, just like ones times Fu moved the everythin' on Earth. Floyd can one day be's a planet or whole big spaces maybe with other plants.. but right now Floyd is all these lands and lots of nowheres spaces and no sky.. Floyd is.. Floyd does the balance cycles. Things eat to live and lives to eats and be's eated.. but Floyd is one Floyd, one.. and if we lives here and doesn't take care of Floyd like Floyd takes care of us with lands and foods and growin' then.. if there's no more Floyd, there's no more us... That's why I came to say sorry to Floyd and to try to fixes what I can.. the Floyd Nexus is still growin' and the crystals is really real 'portant I thinks... Hurtin' Floyd's heart is.. is really bad.."[/color] There were tears in her eyes, a great mangled bridge of lack of understanding between the two.

She was young, she was naive, and she hadn't had the kind of education in just how exploitative, manipulative and deceptive certain powers could be.

That was not the world to an Iron Strider. Stewardship of the earth and the environments was most definitely a concern among his clan and way of life, but not to the point of prostrating oneself before creation and the cosmos. Give a slightly different power a smidge too much deference and respect at the cost of respect and right to exist for oneself, and they put their feet on your neck and determine you are their subjects. Whether it be warlords, nobles, vampires, demons, or supposed gods. Everything had motivation to live and thrive. And sometimes, those things were in direct contradiction to one another. A bear isn't greater than a all mice solely because it was bigger and stronger, and neither were embodiments of people, places or abstracts! But it was something he understood her upset about.

There were so many questions to ask, and he felt save perhaps a few hints, Kayel might not ultimately have many. Pieces. Compromised narration, based on the combination of propaganda, mistruths and subjective feelings the likes of Demigra had told her. But upsetting Kayel was not going to get her to answer any of them.

Shoulders slumping, he appeared ready to drop the subject. Instead, taking a few steps closer and offering to wrap his arms around the small saiyan girl in a big hug.

He hadn't found his ship, but he had zeroed in on those lights and now that blazing soulistic aura. The Death God perched juuuust beyond the grasps of Ground Zero up on a large orb of violet-red pulsing, but watched from afar through his scythe's crimson orb glinting off from a hidden parked droid that found something more interesting than the ship to record a bit ago. After all, Shroom was a lil' paranoid when it came to things that were his and he actually gave a damn about.

That aura of hers was still bright, technicolor and warm, even with remnants and wisps traversing to the surrounding crystals.

Meeting her purple gaze with his blue.

There's sooooooooo much crystal underground, you wouldn't believe."[/color] Turning around and trundling back to his gigantic glazed clay urn full of water. [color=orange]"Do you know where 'home' is, Kayel? I can take you, but I just need to drop off water to my hideout."[/color]

Steadily those fine hairs went to rest and her tail became less frazzled. However as he started to turn from the crystals, she began squirming. [color=cyan]"I can't Pikan. I has to try and fix its. And then I has to find Aycharty. Neus the big birdy dropped me off here's and we came from Aycharty. I can't go home without it. I borrowed it and didn't asks... ..Huh.. Listening intently, those all-too-precociously-wise eyes studying the devil divinity with all the inquisitive look as a bobcat assessing a hunter. He knew he was outmatched, but after a certain level and threshold of danger, there was no real point in cowering. It'd figure Kayel had been.... 'appropriated' and given a home by demons. It was what it was. He didn't know why, but things went along without understanding of the theory. At that candid answer, he grinned and gave the taller man a nod from under his white linen hood. [color=orange]"This is the first I ever heard of Kayel going joyriding with someone elses stuff. Must've been practicing for the track."[/color] He giggled. Screw family tree, she's got a tumbleweed."[/color] The Death God assessed the grounded crystal bits, that pillar, and the spire break.

If I don't get your soul, it probs gets sucked up here and winds up dismembered into energy 'stead of gettin' cleansed and reincarnated like most in Otherworld. Soooo it kinda makes sense, world wants to grow. Went from bein' a dinky thing, to this mass of masses and it probs will keep it up."[/color]

Curious about just what Kayel was planning on, he decided to observe.

[2020-04-18 23:32] *[user]Kayel[/user] hrm'd and set the little shards down. She wasn't sure but.. this had a chance to work, didn't it? Ki couldn't work right, but.. magic? Kayel backed away, back over to that main fallen pillar. Too small and weak to lift it and even risk that ki absorption, she had one other trick up her sleeve. Well, in her hand actually! She took in a deep breath, wand resting in hand and down as her other hand rested over it. Suddenly around the trio, the area began to shift and change. Time went in reverse for the crystals broken by that Rhino and Pikan. Even that massive pillar rose back up into place with its tiny splintered shards finding their homes like a puzzle while the ground adjusted to normal before the impact.

She was sweating, focusing and squinting her eyes open to watch how that pillar went back into place.. and.. there! Teeth gritting, Kayel moved on to another spell. The duration of that Skip Back wasn't going to hold for long, given the area and mass effected. The crystals took energy, took in ki.. but she began something a bit different. With a white glow about her hand, Kayel began charging the crystal with Healing Magic. The other hand dug out a few long strips of fabric from her pack and carefully began weaving them to each other around the crystal.

[2020-04-18 23:38] [user]Shroom[/user]: Shroom kept Kayel in his sight, voice lowered a bit as well. [color=brown]"It has its merits and is kinda weird.. but she's a weird kid, so it works. Demigra's got the place split. There were some incidents and one took a chunk out of The Watch. Wasn't a fight, just some anger burst that bashed up walls, bathrooms, offices.. The Watch houses some artifacts and stuff. Yanno, fancy godly things.. Time Scrolls and such. Plus Chronoa... and.. well.. Kayel. Demigra made it safer for 'em. People can't hold in their powers? Then they can git. I kinda think Demigra's makin' it into their own lil' nest of sorts.. Yanno, home."[/color]

He eyed that use of magic, straightening. Time magic was beyond him, but was something respected the more he learned about it and what all it entailed. Kayel was tying.. was.. ribboning a crystal? Did she really just ribbon the mountain?.. Not too sure her magic would actually "heal" the crystal, Shroom turned from Pikan and walked off, snagging up a large fallen tree branch and marching it over.

How 'em bandaged limbs need that extra help.."[/color] Shroom was fairly certain the crystal wouldn't be mended in such a manner but hey, now it would be held up and with its "wound" wrapped, he wouldn't have to see Kayel cry if it fell back down without support. [color=brown]"Okay, crystals are healed. Let's git."[/color] Shroom went to pluck up one (1) Kayel and one (1) Pikan, both under either arm and march quickly awaaaay from the area.

Lifted a finger, lips pursed and face stuck frozen in the calm, relaxed expression he wore but a moment ago. Half incapable of even comprehending what he had just witnessed, and half into stunned, incredulous silence. Did he just watch a whole crystal spire un-shatter itself and just [b]hop[/b] back into place, like a disaster clip played in reverse? Their little Kayel certainly.. hadn't.. been [b]ditching[/b] lessons, in whatever it was she was learning. Was that time magic!? That was just amazing, is what that was. It couldn't have been ki. This place strangled it, in all but the most powerful of warriors. Magic is all that it could have been!

And it was then, in his stunned silence, he found himself being picked up like he were a cardboard cutout movie prop. Holding himself stiff and horizontal, just sorta dangling. Comprehending, and yet, too bewildered to really respond, while the world around him and the world beneath him shifted.

Thankfully she was scooped up instead and likewise dangled, fingers just grasping her wand out of will to not lose it. Kayel also had no idea if this would work or not, but she turned her head over her shoulder to gaze backwards at that soft glow around the crystals' breaks and smiled to herself, hoping Floyd would feel better.

Once there was some distance, he shifted Pikan back to his feet and Kayel up against his chest with a one arm seat. [color=brown]"I dunno if we do or do not tell Demigra of this one.."[/color]

[color=orange]"I think that should be between Kayel and the void. And between you and me?"[/color] He said, raising his hands up over his head, forearms crossing and elbows outwards. Streeeetching his neck and back! [color=orange]"I'd never met Chronoa before. Never got to know her. Don't know what she's normally like. Had literally only maybe seen her, once, out the corner of my eyes the last time I was at the watch..."[/color]

Gauging Shroom's expression. It was rather obvious he wasn't sure he could trust him, either. [color=orange]"But she was acting unusual the other day. And I think if I knew her better, I'd think she was behaving really unusual. Probably quite a few people acting 'unusual' these days, thanks to certain people."[/color] Not necessarily accusative. Just contemplative.

Well, she had been determined alright! Now her tail hung limply and she felt at ease.

Up ahead there it was, the HR3.. A saucer-shaped vehicle with a cockpit dome in the center that seemed to be attached by just floating there despite there was no energy being given off really. [color=brown]"Why don't ya trust Demigra? Not trustin' Mechikaboola is good. Hell, even me at times. But Demigra?"[/color] Argh... He spotted the claw marks and scratches all over his beloved baby. Shroom flinched, already thinking of the hours of buffing this would take.

[color=orange]"The thing that knocked that big 'Floyd' spire down, the other day, was a big ole rhino.. thhiiiiiing. The seating was plush and although there was a steering grip for manual flight, the monitor and number pad spoke of something else at play for navigation. He popped the dome's clear lid open and went about adjusting the seating. With a few button pushes, the saucer outer shell whirled and flipped over the dome vertically with a few panels resetting to the ground. Now it was more like a standing metal cookie with a ball in the center.

Just like Light."[/color] He paused, glancing down at Kayel a moment before back to Pikan. [color=brown]"Darkness affects animals and peoples, makes 'em change. Animals can become mutated, transformed. Rhino's are grumps and territorial in general so that probs got amped up with lots of rage and bein' out of its own territory might be from lack of food, bigger beasties drivin' it out, or it wandered or somethin'.. Chronoa wouldn't feel that sorta thing I think.. I mean, the curse I initially helped with was bindin' her here to the Nexus and all. So the rifts, tears in reality and big craters or mass destruction.. That's the sorta thing she'd feel to wear her will down."[/color]
