  1. [15:19:40] He watches as his lightning attacks the boy, and it almost becomes clear that he was going too hard on him -- that the lightning magic was almost too strong for his friend. As such, his magics are dialled down -- the lightning magic becomes a mild shock as he slowly allows it to come to an end. With that, he steps back and watches to see if the boy could mimic his lightning magic-- if he could recreate it!
  2.
  3. It was successful-- he'd taught the boy lightning magic..! Or, at least, how to control it, which was a good thing. He'd done it successfully!
  4.
  5. "Woo! Am did it..!" He says. He taught Caerus lightning magic..!
  6.
  7. "... Okay, now am help me fly in the winds, yeah?" He says, staring. Nice, subject immediately moved to him.
  8. (Zephyr)
  9. [15:29:55] The water of the ocean nearby rises.
  10.
  11. A stream of water is lead over to him and begins to cover over his body. Draining the sensation of pain from his system by numbing his body, the boy's pained expression gradually begins to easen up. The feeling of lightning running throughout his body, it hurt. Though it wasn't nearly as lethal as it could've been.
  12.
  13. Caerus releases a sigh of relief, and then the ends of his rosy lips rise slowly. The lightning which briefly was created inbetween his hands was the subject of his admiration for a while. He'd successfully created it despite how little experience he had with the magic, and in such short time.
  14.
  15. Prodigies in this game sure are common!
  16.
  17. And while he sits on the thought of learning lightning magic, he's then called for Zephyr's need to control wind magic. His look becomes one deep in thought, then he lets out a sigh. "You just have to practice! Control the wind like you can lightning or something. And then when you're good with it make really strong wind to make you fly."
  18.
  19. He's not really sure how to help Zephyr with flying using wind magic. It's something that seems to require the strength to summon winds powerful enough to constantly carry someone, and having control over such winds. Such control and power he can't say he truly has.
  20. (Caerus)
  21. [15:38:27] He watches as Caerus begins to soothe the wounds that he had given the boy-- it seemed that he'd actually done a bit of a number with his lightning magic, unfortunately... There's a bit of staring at the boy for a few seconds. He wanted to see if he could try and harness the power of storm magic-- in fact, maybe he would try and do it again.
  22.
  23. Maybe he'd try and teach Caerus after... He looks at him for a few more seconds.
  24.
  25. "... Hmm, maybe can try a fight? Wants to see if can do this cool magic learned in a dream." He says. There's a bit of a stare. "Not to seem like Astraios-- just wants to try one time." He says.
  26. (Zephyr)
  27. [15:44:25] "Fighting?"
  28.
  29. He's surprised to hear that the sarradian wished to fight, considering how they seem to detest practicing without much reason. Fighting wasn't something even he likes to do because of the pain it brings onto his frail body. But when he's mentioned a cool magic..
  30.
  31. "Just don't hurt me really badly, okay?" He says a bit hesitantly, wincing as his body throbs in pain. The lightning from earlier had caused some damage to his body. He'd only tried to numb the sensation of pain with the water, but couldn't fully.
  32.
  33. But he'd endure, considering this game them both a chance. Caerus a chance to practice with lightning magic, if he could create it again at will. Zephyr a chance to show off his 'cool magic'.
  34. (Caerus)
  35. [15:50:24] Caerus: (( lmao
  36. [15:53:48] His magics are quickly used.
  37.
  38. The supply of water from the nearby ocean was used as it rises and slithers. Controlling the liquid, it comes to this young boy's side and levitates. To be controlled as he pleases.
  39.
  40. Gusts of wind eminate from around the boy in the direction of Zephyr. They're initially very soft and subtle, gentle tickling at their features. But then it begins to pick up into something a bit more fierce. Both of their articles are clothes flutter in the wind and so does their hair as it picks up gradually.
  41.
  42. And then his hand extends. He looks to the open space above his hand and uses his sense of imagery. A ball of lightning is what he desires to create, like Zephyr had earlier. It's something that requires devoting his attention to for quite the while..
  43.
  44. And then the sphere of lightning he wants to appear does. Lightning arcs and echoes over his hand in the shape of a ball. A cyan ball full of power just barely controlled as certain spikes barely stray away from the sphere, it's form almost unravelling, but it remains.
  45.
  46. "O-Okay!"
  47. (Caerus)
  48. [15:59:47] With that, an aura of lightning magic flows around his body-- filling him with power that he never often used, but knew how to use for sure. Lightning magic ... His primary element, something he had control over. The other two magics he used? They weren't very great.
  49.
  50. No weapon is brought to this, but there are seeds within his pockets that he'd have ended up throwing at him once or twice to create constricting vines.
  51.
  52. "This is ... Storm magic!" He murmurs, staring as water and wind begin to pick up around him -- flowing in seperate rings, they attempt to fuse into something of a cloud, briefly--
  53.
  54. -- It was a new magic, something he'd only used in a dream. But something seems off about it... Uncertainty is even showed in the magic as it almost seems to stop at some point -- the rushing waters that try to make the cloud become visible as individual droplets, and the wind stops howling around him every once in awhile until corrected.
  55.
  56. It was extremely forced-- as though he was using something he wasn't ready for.
  57. (Zephyr)
  58. [16:02:20] {combat} Zephyr has been defeated by Caerus! They're unable to continue fighting.
  59. [16:02:20] Caerus: (( the lag was real
  60. [16:03:12] Caerus: (( why no staff or wisp
  61. [16:03:12] Caerus: (( n-no dont put on armor i have none

  91. [16:10:01] Caerus: (( you're gravity??
  92. [16:10:01] Zephyr: (no this is cosmetic
  93. [16:10:01] Caerus: (( i was about to say..
  94. [16:10:52] Caerus: (( nature gravity wind water lightning storm
  95. [16:10:52] Caerus: (( lots of rpp
  96. [16:16:00] The children fight.
  97.
  98. Undisturbed by the showing of those powerful magics attempting to combine he'd remain confident in himself. Summoning all of his magics, which he shares with that sarradian across from him, he nods. The expression of his face looks very concentrated and determined before the start of the fight.
  99.
  100. He wants to win against Zephyr.
  101.
  102. And so, when the fight starts, he gives it his all. His attacks aren't anything close to fatal, but they are still rather powerful for someone of his age. Considering how young little Caerus is, his magics have reached a level most would compare to that of a normal adult magi. They aren't wrong.
  103.
  104. He exercises a certain amount of control over his magics and channels his potent mana into his magics to eventually best Zephyr. They trade many blows with their shared magics, and this blond even takes on some from the plants of nature which Zephyr controls, but he comes out on top.
  105.
  106. Caerus pushes Zephyr back, specifically with his magic which he holds a much known affinity for -- wind.
  107. (Caerus)
  108. [16:17:42] As the fight begins, the young Sarradian's inability to control his elements properly is his downfall-- he seems to be successfully flying, but it carries him in every which direction like some sort of hurricane. The magic is not his friend, and he's not friends with the magics... An aura of static electricity didn't seem to be helping him at all. Zephyr frowns...
  109.
  110. Short-range teleportation didn't help much at all, so he'd try something else-- ring of water wraps around his body in an attempt to restore wounds. Even if it would rain, or splash on him, he was trying his best-- the water magic heals only slightly.
  111.
  112. "Urrrrrrr---gh" He frowns, drawing out magical seeds once more. He had to try his best, and the power of the storm wasn't on his side. His eyes close-- the magics around him seem to calm down, or rather.. Be pushed into place to be proper. It was bound to break once more, like a faulty faucet or some other analogy to represent a temporary fix.
  113.
  114. "Magic is hard to do-- only did once in a dream, of course.." He says. He'd try again-- and hopefully-- he would win. The clouds around him grow dark with lighnting magic, and he tries to attack with them-- though they aren't completely successful...
  115.
  116. ... He was doing his best to control one of the stronger elements in Valmasia.
  117. (Zephyr)
  118. [16:19:24] {combat} Caerus has been defeated by Zephyr! They're unable to continue fighting.
  119. [16:19:24] Zephyr: (did you tp into that
  120. [16:19:24] Zephyr: (omg
  121. [16:19:24] Caerus: (( probably.
  122. [16:19:24] Caerus: (( my internet/computer is lagging really badly.
  123. [16:20:16] Caerus: (( to the point of my computer becoming unresponsive and my screen pausing and then continuing.
  124. [16:20:16] Caerus: (( it's doing it for youtube too when i was watching a rust video : ^(
  125. [16:23:40] Control over it seemed better-- the clouds he holds almost seem to work well. When combined, lightning almost seems to stick it together like yarn, or glue ... The water and wind magics seem under his control, briefly-- and it allows him to win.
  126.
  127. Riding in a thunder-ridden cloud allowed him to fly, which he finally understood. Lightning was what he needed to adapt with his other magics in order to do it successfully-- electromancy had to control the wind, and electromancy had to control the water...
  128.
  129. A beam of focussed water blasts the child back-- Caerus is tossed, and the clouds around him seem to continue to be mostly stable-- once in awhile do they fade away, only to come back...
  130.
  131. ... It was a start, at least. It was taxing on his mana reserves. He knew he wasn't strong enough to manifest it past this point!
  132.
  133. Zephyr lands on the ground, feeling... Weak. He'd do this on foot, without trying to channel storm magic for the rest of it. It was something he should definitely try later...
  134.
  135. "Hmm, was a good test -- But needs to practice without trying that anyways." He says, delightfully.
  136. (Zephyr)
  137. [16:26:14] Caerus: (( trent put on your gear
  138. [16:26:14] Caerus: (( i want to see how far i can take you down with it on
  139. [16:26:14] Zephyr: (ok...
  140. [16:32:12] The thunderous gray cloud carried the boy.
  141.
  142. Ahead of him is the awesome creation of three arcanas combined carefully. Water, wind, and lightning combined to form a powerful cloud. While it's unstable and seems exhausting on his sarradian friend, it's being controlled for the while. They fly around with that formation underneath them in the fight.
  143.
  144. And they're still able to unleash some awfully devasting attacks, despite having to put their attention into the temporary cloud. Their magics of lightning and water specifically hurt, while their winds are fought back with his own. His affinity for it is much more powerful than Zephyr's. But as for the two other magics..
  145.
  146. He isn't able to defeat them. They draw him into a pained state, weakening up. Then eventually, while Caerus is attempting to make use of the magic of electricity, he's pushed back by a strong column of water connecting with his stomach. "Ugh!" He bites his lip, resisting the urge to scream.
  147.
  148. He's onto one knee, struggling to get back. Once he does he looks over to find Zephyr's cloud gone, but they're still able to fight. "W-What...what was that, Zephyr!?" He shouts across the field they're at weakly.
  149. (Caerus)
  150. [16:33:55] {combat} Caerus has been defeated by Zephyr! They're unable to continue fighting.
  151. [16:33:55] Caerus: (( rest in peace
  152. [16:34:46] Zephyr: (do u wanna call it here or keep going
  153. [16:34:46] Caerus: (( let's call it
  154. [16:34:46] Zephyr: (ok
  155. [16:34:46] Caerus: (( i'll wait for your rp then post
  156. [16:35:37] Caerus: (( hopefully doing the update works. been postponing it since i got on.
  157. [16:36:28] Water magic surrounds him in a somewhat violent ring, but lightning magic attempts to bind it together-- it barely works, yet, makes his magic stronger-- the Sarradian isn't very sure, but he was going to beat Caerus anyways.
  158.
  159. Wind magic beats him back barely, with the wind mage being stronger than him in that department-- it almost seemed like his wind was being redirected at him! Thankfully, his lightning was terrifying in terms of 'oomph', and did enough of the job for him.
  160.
  161. As he beats down Caerus once more with a beam of water, the Sarradian moves forwards-- seeds are planted that create plants, and they give off healing energies-- they give off a soothing feeling to any wounds the Sarradian had caused to Caerus.
  162.
  163. "Was a magic called.. um, Storm!"
  164. (Zephyr)
  165. [16:42:27] The fight ends in his defeat.
  166.
  167. Magics of wind, lightning, water, and nature clash against one another. Specifically those elemental magics which both the children wield. The two children both have a certain level of expertise to their magics, but one is able to triumph over the other.
  168.
  169. Zephyr is the victor, with his natural affinity for the powerful lightning magic specifically. The magics of wind and water are also wielded to a very surprising degree, too. His nature magic, not too much. His sarradian genes assist him in his usage of the elemental magics, probably.
  170.
  171. But Caerus doesn't make any excuses as he sits almost breathless on the ground. The beam of water that hit him knocked the air out of his lungs, causing him to beg for air. He takes in deep breaths and lets out odd sounds of pain -- then the plants come over his body.
  172.
  173. He calms down, the injuries ceasing to exist and breaths of deep air taken in. And then he's given and explanation of the magic they'd used during the fight. 'Storm Magic'.
  174.
  175. "How...how did you learn about that!?"
  176. (Caerus)
  177. [16:42:27] Caerus: (( going to restart my computer!
  178. [16:48:25] Zephyr was capable of beating Caerus perhaps due to a mastery over his lightning magic or something else, but it definitely seemed like he had the upper hand in their battle. He grins after he'd won -- and with that, the Sarradian was now to try and explain storm magic as best as he could, and how he came upon it!
  179.
  180. "Am saw the Queen of Alteros usin' it, and when went into... Weird dream, had to try and make the storm magic to ... Protect somethin', so used it here to try and fight." He declares. "Is like, um, wind, water, lightning magic -- all ones I use, but can barely even control the first two, yes?" He says. "In dream, could use both two-- was trying hard to do, too." He says.
  181.
  182. "Does not work in real life, or... Not strong enough-- magic hurts a bit." He explains, awkwardly.
  183.
  184. "But would try again soon.." He says. "Am going to keep working until am the best at it, storm clouds and stuff, does sound cool?"
  185. (Zephyr)
  186. [17:06:20] His jaws hangs in awe.
  187.
  188. The three magics being combined seemed to create a powerful magic. Considering the possibility of the three combining when used by a competent magi into an actual storm, he imagines how powerful such a thing would be. He'd of combining magics to form a more advanced form of them, but..
  189.
  190. This is the first time he hears of Storm Magic.
  191.
  192. And this is also the first time he's ever heard of the Queen of Alteros. Though he'd been to the city multiple different times, and was raised there in his infancy, he didn't know much of it. But now he grew a bit more interested in it. Their queen is someone able to create powerful storms...
  193.
  194. "Doesn't that mean that I could maybe do that, too? They're the only magics I know right now, but maybe I could do that with them to be even stronger. Then I could help keep you guys and the garden safe!"
  195. (Caerus)
  196. [17:07:12] Caerus: (( i was going to be salty
  197. [17:07:12] Caerus: (( that rp took like 5 seconds to send and i was like "did i just lose the rp because i lagged out"
  198. [17:12:19] The Sarradian stares upon Caerus as he seems shocked by him revealing what storm magic was, and when he asks if he's capable of it, as well, the Sarradian boy stares at him for a few seconds. In fact, technically, he could-- but it was unlikely he'd achieve it right now.
  199.
  200. "Um, yes." He says. "Could definitely do storm magic.. But maybe not right now, yes?" He says, staring. "Thinks can only do it because is Sarradian. Can do the elemental magics really easy.. When gets better with magic, will try, yes?" He says. He stares into the sky.
  201.
  202. If he couldn't control wind and water, he was never going to get storm magic to cooperate with him.
  203. (Zephyr)
  204. [17:16:35] "Hmph."
  205.
  206. His arms cross over his chest and his cheeks puff out in defiance now. Imagining himself summoning a storm against a horde of enemies, like some hero from a tale, the idea of learning how to control his magics into a storm stuck to him.
  207.
  208. But when he was told he probably couldn't do it currently, it obviously didn't please him.
  209.
  210. It isn't something he can deny though, considering his inexperience. Though he could control the three magics needed, he wasn't an expert at any of them. He'd be getting his hopes up if he tried to use them to create a large storm like he imagined.
  211.
  212. "Maybe...maybe we both can! We'll use the storms to keep the garden safe, and our friends!" Eventually, that is.
  213. (Caerus)
  214. [17:20:00] He didn't doubt Caerus' ability, only his potency at this point... Sarradians had such a natural control over the elements that they were capable of magics that most people were not -- Desert's fury, a magic of Sarradian origin, one that humans could learn... But it was definitely harder -- and Storm magic? Well, it may have been invented by a human.. But there were likely dozens of storm magi in Sarradia itself. He's not sure.
  215.
  216. "Yes, can do that!!" He exclaims. He then pauses for a moment as he stares at Caerus. He wanted to ask him a question, to see if there was... Well, an answer to it-- if the boy had experienced it too.
  217.
  218. "Hey, Caerus ... Has ever had a bad dream? One that maybe something crazy happened?
  219. (Zephyr)
