  1. Australia is already a hot and dry country and scientists expect it to get even hotter in the coming years if no action is taken against climate change. “Scientific records over the past million or so years show that as the ice age ended the global average temperatures rose 4-7 degrees Celsius over a total of 5,000 yeras.” Australia’s average temperature is expected to rise the same amount over the course of sub 200 years! In January of 2018 temperatures in Sydney soared to over 47 degrees. It was the hottest day the city had experienced in 80years. Climate change is making these ‘heatwaves’ more command, severe, and long lasting. They lead to heat exhaustion and sometimes heat stroke which has a terrible impact on our health and wellbeing.
