Percy: Yep! Ace needs his afternoon naps.
Benny: Are you sure he won’t mind us going without him?
Percy: Nah, he’ll catch up if he wants to.
Percy: [smile, closed eyes] Even best friends need to have alone time every now and then.
Benny: [smile] Heh. Well, since Ace isn’t here to carry you…

Percy: That village we visited said there was a scary bad guy hanging around?

Benny: And you know where he is?
Percy: I think so! Ace saw some scary-looking guys making camp not far away.
Benny: [smile] Good work, boy.

Benny: So… how are you two enjoying being here?
Percy: [smile, closed eyes] It’s so cool! Every battle is different, and there’s so many awesome heroes here!
Benny: [sweat, frown] Yeah…
Percy: I wanna learn to use all the awesome weapons! Oh, and magic! Hey, do you think Lady Elise would teach me to use staves?
Benny: [sweat, worried] Maybe.
Percy: Are you okay, Dad?
Benny: …Yeah. Just-
Benny: [frown] Shh! Look!
Bandit 1: -hit them tomorrow night from the east, got it?
Bandit 2: But they’re fortified to the east!
Bandit 1: Yeah, and that’s why they won’t expect it! It’s psychology, innit?
Benny: [surprised] (Come on, we’d better warn the-)
Percy: [smile, closed eyes] Face justice, evildoers! C’mon, Ace!

Benny: [upset] PERCY!

Benny: [frown] So. We need to talk.
Percy: [upset] …Yeah…
Benny: …You want to start, or should I?
Percy: You’re mad at me because I rushed in, right?
Benny: Yeah. We were outnumbered.
Benny: We only got away because of that freak storm.
Percy: [sad] …And then the bandits were so riled up they ended up attacking the village right away.
Benny: [sad] Yeah. Luckily no-one was badly injured.
Percy: …It wasn’t luck. It’s because you put yourself in danger drawing them off.
Percy: [crying] I’m sorry, Dad! I just wanted to be heroic like you and Pops!
Benny: [frown, sweat] Percy… There’s nothing heroic about what we’re doing here.
Percy: Huh…?
Benny: This war is terrible. Hopefully Lord/Lady Avatar and Lady Elise can end it quickly.
Benny: But it’s not making heroes of any of us.
Percy: B-but… you and Pops…
Benny: Arthur’s a hero because of all the people he helps. Not because of his strength in battle.
Benny: [sad] I… I wish you weren’t doing any fighting at all.
Benny: If I could, I’d take you back to my village and we’d wait out the war. But travelling back there is too dangerous.
Benny: You’ve got real heroics to do, Percy.
Benny: Don’t risk them here.
Percy: [sad] Dad… I’m sorry!
Benny: It’s okay. I’m sorry too. I didn’t mean to yell and scare you.
Benny: [smile] I know you wanted to protect the village. It was brave.
Percy: Not as brave as you, Dad.
Benny: How about we go for another walk? There’s no more bandits, but I met some baby fox kits yesterday.
Percy: [surprised] Really? Are you sure their mama won’t mind us visiting?
Benny: [smile] Not if we bring a little food. Come on – let’s see what the mess hall can spare.
Percy: [smile] Yay! Bringing food to babies – this is REAL heroism!
Benny: Hehe. I guess it is.
