- [21:57] Elora stopped them just before the throne room.
- (Elora Renae Otho)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:57] Elora Renae Otho says, "Uri. "
- [21:57] Uri Brienne asks, "Hm?"
- [21:58] Elora Renae Otho says, "The King has heard my case and has agreed to annul the wedding between yourself and Vivian. I told him what you told me today in our talk. I also told him what I told you. I did not smudge nor mar anything to make anything seem one way or the other."
- [21:59] Uri Brienne says, "---"
- [21:59] Elora Renae Otho says, "I know you wish to be free of this, Uri. I can see it in your eyes. I can feel it in my heart when you speak to me."
- [21:59] Uri Brienne says, "I see."
- [21:59] Uri sighs lightly.
- (Uri Brienne)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:59] Uri Brienne says, "I'll give this change a shot."
- [21:59] Elora Renae Otho says, "I understand you say you love her, but I must say I think you love the idea of Vivian. A person to be there, not her for who she is."
- [21:59] Elora Renae Otho asks, "What say you before we enter?"
- [22:00] Uri Brienne says, "Just, that I hope things aren't too difficult once it is done."
- [22:00] Elora nodded. "My dear, I will be right there for you. Every step."
- (Elora Renae Otho)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:02] As promised Elora had returned with haste to the Throne room. Uri of course was with her. As they entered the elder would approach the King and dip her head.
- "My King, as requested I have brought Uri to you."
- With that said the elder took a side step to the left. Giving Uri and Alexander a direct line of sight, while standing close to her grandson. To support him in this time.
- (Elora Renae Otho)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:04] Uri would have taken a knee. He had to as it was the courtesy that was formally proper for such encounters... He thought about the many things on his mind, all those that have confronted him about the certain concerns of his current wife Vivian.
- "My liege, my friend, my comrade," said Uri, waiting for a response.
- He knew what he was here for. What ELora had done on his behalf, what he couldn't take upon the heart.
- (Uri Brienne)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:08] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "Uri."
- [22:08] Alexander rei Petrakis asks, "Is it true?"
- [22:08] Uri Brienne says, "I'm sorry to say... That it is sadly... Lately, I feel that I've made a mistake... I should've listened to Marie back then... Things were moving way too fast."
- [22:09] Uri Brienne says, "Now, I risk my family being targetted by a hit man, due to Vivian's actions..."
- [22:10] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "Vivian was cleared so far by Radiant Garm."
- [22:10] Elora Renae Otho says, "My dear, tell him what you told me of Vivian and Elizabeth."
- [22:11] Uri Brienne says, "Neither of them will admit, but they've been butting heads since the debt... Vivian has told me that she wanted Elizabeth dead if the debt would continue to ruin us."
- [22:12] Alexander rei Petrakis asks, "Did she enact anything, speak with anyone?"
- [22:13] Uri Brienne says, "No. At most, she has tried to put a bounty onto Basil, only due to him attacking one of our servants. "
- [22:13] Uri Brienne says, "By passing it through a radiant."
- [22:13] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "I do doubt in that case that she hired anyone to hurt Elizabeth."
- [22:13] Uri nods.
- (Uri Brienne)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:13] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "If you have doubts though, confess to Radiant Garm and tell him what you know."
- [22:13] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "Now, finally."
- [22:13] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "Ask me yourself for an annulment. I need to hear it from you."
- [22:13] Uri Brienne says, "..."
- [22:19] It was extremely hard for Uri... Asking for such a thing to happen... But he knew that Elora was not happy was this. Nor was his friends, none of them. Many of which, began to see him as a bad person due to association with Vivian..
- But Uri, he had the idea of this marriage, just needing actual time to build...For him to step away from Vivian, for she had gotten bold, too bold since her promotion to knight and their marriage...Always taking him around like a bodyguard so that she could confront people and make reports for issues Uri saw as petty matters.
- "I... Until times have improved, on the grounds of our marriage having no true foundation... Wish for an annulment from Vivian cos Brienne, and to return to my title as Uri Sanctum..."
- This courage to speak came from a blessing of the gods... But, from Maries words, from Thalis, Raisa and the others who were concerned... He needed this time away and should Vivian prove to actually care, to be a good person who won't start wars or bring targets upon their backs for her actions...
- Uri would then agree to be with her once again... Until then, he would have to observe her, not as her husband. But someone who is only linked to her through their children... "My only regret, is not providing a complete family for our children," said the young Captain...Still conflicted, if he had made the right choice.
- (Uri Brienne)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:23] The Petrakis King nods. While it would paint House Brienne in a bad light and no doubt cause problems. There had been enough drama surrounding Vivian already.
- "You can have an annulment on your marriage," Alexander said. He owed his friend that much.
- "Inform Vivian calmly and you will be expected to still help with your children."
- (Alexander rei Petrakis)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:24] Uri Brienne says, "*nods.* "
- [22:24] Uri nods.
- (Uri Brienne)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:24] Elora dipped her head to the King.
- (Elora Renae Otho)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:24] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "Pass it through the Church to make sure it is done properly."
- [22:25] Uri Brienne says, "Mhm."
- [22:25] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "Uri. Make sure you make yourself happy now."
- [22:25] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "The both of you are dismissed if nothing else."
- [22:25] Elora shook her head.
- (Elora Renae Otho)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:25] Elora Renae Otho says, "I will be around my King. You need but send for me."
- [22:25] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "Thank you, Lady Elora."
- [22:25] Uri nods, thinking about why he did it before... The motive left by his ancestors..Now, he lived for himself...
- (Uri Brienne)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:29] Once they were out of the Throne room Elora would bring them to a stop. She turned to her grandson, took a step forward and embraced him. She knew this was likely hard on him, despite everything that had happened.
- "My dear, in time soon, you will see that this was done for the better. For yourself and for your children."
- After a moment she would lower her arms, loosening the embrace for the moment.
- "Are you alright? Would you like for me to come with you?"
- (Elora Renae Otho)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:30] Uri Brienne says, "I... I should be fine."
- [22:30] Uri Brienne says, "She won't take kindly to this."
- [22:30] Uri Brienne says, "But I should be alright."
- [22:31] Elora Renae Otho says, "Rather she takes kindly to it or not, it is done. I will come with you. For my mind if anything else."
- [22:31] Elesius Soleis says, "Hello, My King."
- [22:33] Uri Brienne says, "Hm, it'll be alright gran."
- [22:34] Elora Renae Otho says, "Mhm, I'm sure."
- [22:36] Astrid cos Salis says, "Mm. Hello, Inante."
- [22:37] Xyth asks, "Is Elora coming?"
- [22:37] Uri Brienne says, "Gran.."
- [22:37] Uri Brienne says, "No need to discuss what was said in the castle."
- [22:37] Uri Brienne says, "I'll speak."
- [22:37] Elora nodded.
- (Elora Renae Otho)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:37] Elora Renae Otho says, "I will stand there and only speak if needed."
- [22:37] Xyth seeing Uri coming into the house, he waved him over, though seeing Elora, he smiled
- (Xyth)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:38] Viorell Beret asks, "Were you trying to become a holy magi?"
- [22:38] Uri Brienne says, "Alright, now that I'm here..."
- [22:38] Xyth says, "Welcome. Take a seat I have some ramen here for you"
- [22:38] Uri Brienne says, "No but, other matters came up.."
- [22:38] Sanna Arborea says, "Later V, I'll tell you about it."
- [22:38] {Item} You picked up Ramen. Dropped by Xyth. .
- [22:38] Uri Brienne says, "Vivian..."
- [22:38] Vivian cos Brienne asks, "What?"
- [22:38] Uri Brienne says, "We must talk, outside."
- [22:38] Viorell Beret says, "Oh right. Erehn told me to tell you hi Uri."
- [22:38] Vivian cos Brienne says, "Alright."
- [22:39] Vivian cos Brienne asks, "What's going on?"
- [22:45] Uri would sigh, looking at Elora, then... To Vivian, he gave a long blink. For it was nothing easy to bring up.. "You remember, how long ago it was, when we, walked the beach together?..."
- He moves onto the next image of their lives together... "Things have been quite shifty, these past few months, within a single year... It's why, I've been given instruction..."
- He looks to Vivian, to hold her hand. "Please understand, that our union, though it was rushed, I enjoyed every moment of it.. But Osrona right now, for the safety of our children, of ourselves..."
- "We must part ways for now, as our marriage has been annulled..." Nothing about this was easy for Uri... But, from Marie, Alexander, and those involved who have seen the change. Who have given him warnings for what's to come... He had to protect Vivian and their children through such action, not fighting the system or the concerns of the people.
- "I will continue to help with our children, but, for now at least, we must annul our union, and for this, I'm sorry my love..." It was the equivalent of sending a nervous text... He didn't want to do it, but he had to for their sake. "I can only hope that light will shine upon this, and bring us together, if that is how it must be."
- (Uri Brienne)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:52] With a visibl look of shock... Her eyes began to widen. And as they widened, A tear streamed down her face. "Uri. My love. My husband... Tell me your joking?! How is annulling our marriage... Keeping anyone safe?! We are safer together!" Almost immediately, her hands snapped forward... aiming to take Uri's own. She couldn't believe this. She couldn't... hear this. No! Uri was not suggesting they get a divorce. Was he?
- "Uri we can't. We can't! Why should we annul our marriage? Why should we have to give up our love? Force our children to grow up without their father and mother together? Tell me... tell me why!" Her voice began to crack, as tears began to roll down her cheeks. Her eyes then looked over toward Elora. An then back toward Uri.
- "We swore before our friends and family. Before the stars. Before the angels. We would be with one another. Through the darkest of days, and through the brightest of hours. Have I... have I not been attentive enough, to you?" Her heart began to ache. Her entire body was trembling as she held his hands as tight as she could.
- "How is this protecting us? or the girls?"
- (Vivian cos Brienne)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [23:09] Elora loved Uri. She loved him just as she loved all of her children and grandchildren, great grandchildren and now, great-great grandchildren. More than anything or anyone else in the world.
- What she had done she had done for Uri. She had seen his pleas for help. The way he spoke to her, she felt it in her heart. The way he carried himself, Elora watched it weigh upon him.
- When he had come to Vivian and spoke the words, revealing what was to be, she had done as promised. Kept silent and remained that way until both of them had spoken.
- However, Elora knew she must step in and make this concrete. For Uris sake. Else, it was all for nothing.
- When Vivian has finished, after the tears and body trembles, Elora would speak.
- "Vivian,"
- She began, her tone calm and collected. As it had always been. Just the same that aura of holy mana radiated around her. Working to combat the plethora of emotions filling the area.
- "from the firsttime you approached me and told me of your and Uris courtship I questioned it. Your motives, the speed at which you were constantly pushing things to move along.
- I should have questioned it more, yet, I allowed myself in my comfortable unaware state to allow it to happen. Instead of urging Uri to follow that of true, naturally budding, love."
- Pausing there the woman turned her dull green eyes to Uri. Her expression and overall demeanor had not changed.
- "My grandson has a strong heart, but a soft heart. He does not like to see others in pain. Regardless of the situation or who they are.
- That is why he spoke to you in such a way. Do not let his words fool you for what lies upon his mind yet his heart is unwilling to say."
- Looking back to Vivian, the elder would only continue.
- "Furthermore, now that I have seen things unfold in the year or so you have been married, I can only kick myself in the ass. For not having urged my grandson to follow what would be real love and not the fallacy in which you provide him.
- I whole heartedly believe that you sought Uri for his strength and his strength alone. Because he stands out among other magi not born among the Noble houses. I believe you bore his children so that you could say that you made House Brienne strong.
- Not for love, not for interest in him. But for your own needs, your own desires. In the year you and he have been together I have watched my grandson whittle away from the man he used to be. A bright, shining star. A Captain among the seas. A smiling face."
- Another pause, but it was short live as her holy mana flared a bit. Only to combat the emotions in the area.
- "Uri has too soft of a heart to tell you these things Vivian. He does not have the aged heart nor mind as I. One whom can speak what they feel regardless of what the outcome may bring.
- Love me, hate me, I care not. But you will respect Uri and his wishes for this annulment to be true."
- Turning her gaze finally back to Uri the elder would speak directly to him.
- "Uri, be the man you are and tell her. As I have."
- (Elora Renae Otho)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [23:12] Fran Palakos says, "Well, I mean..."
- [23:22] With both her hands gripping tightly on Uri's. She then turned toward Elora.
- "I love Uri. And it was never about his strength. I didn't even KNOW he was strong until after we married. Infact…"
- With a pause, she squeezed both of Uri's hands rather tightly. She was emotional. And she was refusing to let go of the man she loved. Unless he himself, told her resolutely, it needed to be done. "Kofe's slander? It started because our courtship was short. But I fell in love. Truly in love, at first sight with this young man! He thought us becoming betrothed early was worthy of shaming and bastardizing me, time... and time... and time again! I love Uri. And I don't need his strength to prove that. It was his heart. His dedication to do good. To do justice in this world. To seek adventure. That I married him!" She squeezed his hands tighter. As she grew angry. Confused. Sad.
- "I bore Uri's children because he's my husband and I loved him. Because I wanted us to have a happy family together." With a shake of her head. She turned toward Uri. "The drama with Elziabeth and company? It was a debt Uri made. Not me. And yet... And yet... I stood there! I took Elizabeth to court. I did everything in my power to remove this debt from him. Because he was my husband. And she manipulated him when he was young. Even when it came to his crewmembers. I offered to make them gear and potions freely, so long as they gave me the ingredients. When it came to his adventures at sea, I wished him well. Telling him I'll be here when he gets back. I have never been unfaithful to my husband. I have never limited him.
- Kofe's insults and slander. The Debt with Elizabeth? This all happened. Because of our Union. None of it would have involved me if I didn't marry Uri. But them slandering us. Them attacking us... All it has done is made our marriage tried and true.
- I love Uri. Like a fairy-tale, we fell in love at first sight. And I plan to stay in-love with him for the rest of my life. As a loyal and loving wife to him and mother of his children." With that said. Her tears began to fall down her face.
- "If Uri so wishes it, he can be rid of my surname. He can have one of our daughters be Sanctum and not Brienne. But this... this call for annulment. It's... its not necessary." With that said, she gripped both of Uri's hands.
- "Uri has proven himself more than enough to be ennobled. And if the King wishes to make him one, I will gladly let half of our children take his surname.
- For as much as I love my legacy. I love my husband as well. And I want him happy." She was trying with all her emotional might to not break down and cry, righ then, right there. Her body trembled in place.
- (Vivian cos Brienne)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [23:30] For this... He was too weak to speak, for this. The young man couldn't think of any words to bring up, none that would help this. He knew what needed to be done, in order to assure this safety not just for Vivian, but for Esbern and the others involved with them...Erehn, and his crew, how the slander has affected them to the point of his crew mates being framed and some almost killed simply by association...
- Uri spoke, very little words, for his heart could not take the stress of such. "I'm sorry Vivian... But, this is what must happen... From this day on, I will return to the name of Sanctum... I'll help, with both our children but... " He ended it there... He couldn't continue on.
- It brought too much pain, a headache that felt like his chest was crushing his heart. A slow, stiff pain. And so, he would just, leave it as it was... Turning to the door of Xyth's abode... On the verge of just wanting to kill himself for what was the hardest decision of his life. He said nothing more... Nothing... For there was a risk if he'd continue on like this.
- (Uri Brienne)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [23:31] Vivian cos Brienne says, "..."
- [23:31] Vivian sighs... She was defeated.
- (Vivian cos Brienne)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [23:32] Vivian cos Brienne says, "Then we need to King present for the paperwork."
- [23:32] Vivian cos Brienne says, "His presence is needed for the seperation of a noble's marriage."
- [23:32] Elora Renae Otho says, "The King has given his blessing for the annulment. We need a Priest for the paperwork."
- [23:32] Vivian cos Brienne says, "I want to hear it from him, directly."
- [23:33] Vivian cos Brienne asks, "Please... can i have that at least?"
- [23:34] Elora Renae Otho says, "*stared at Vivian. She did not believe this charade before her. Not one bit. However, for Uris sake, the woman would simply nod. "You may seek the King for confirmation. Uri can confirm here and now, though feel free. I will make contact with a Priest to see the paperwork made and ready."
- [23:35] Vivian cos Brienne says, "...I can't believe even you doubt me. I've been nothing. If not a benefit to Osrona. It's that damned... rumormonger..."
- [23:35] Vivian cos Brienne says, "..."
- [23:35] Uri returns inside.
- (Uri Brienne)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [23:35] Uri Brienne says, "Xyth...."
- [23:35] Xyth whispers: Do you want to talk about it
- [23:35] Viorell Beret asks, "Hey, where's Vivian?"
- [23:35] Uri hugs his friend.
- (Uri Brienne)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [23:35] Viorell Beret exclaims, "!"
- [23:35] Xyth is surprised but the hug, but seeing him like this he started to pat his back.
- "What happened Uri?"
- (Xyth)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [23:36] Uri Brienne says, "Long story short..."
- [23:36] Uri Brienne says, "I ended things with Vivian..."
- [23:36] Viorell Beret asks, "W-what!?"
- [23:36] Xyth says, "Ended things? Do you......you didnt...."
- [23:36] Uri Brienne says, "It was... The hardest thing I could ever do..."
