- I really hate when the gaming media covers some hot meme dating-sim that they'll pretend is a proper VN. Especially some microtransaction based mobile trash. Of course, the latest in the series is Mystic Messenger.
- Low-effort, meme-bait stories seem to be the hot sellers, no small part due to actually getting coverage, which means professional translation groups and developers focus their small translation teams on those instead of anything worthwhile.
- And as VNs get more attention in general, fantranslation groups have more or less completely died, meaning even more focus is towards turning a quick profit.
- I'd rather no one talked about VNs at all. Then I could enjoy my Chinese Textbooks in peace.
