The life-and-death battle between the two terrifying monsters raged
overhead. The kaiju rammed into one another, and locked in one another’s
embrace, they fell down, smack in the middle of the Dōjima River.
Crushed by the weight of the monsters overhead, the ceiling of the
subway cracked apart, and all at once, the river water poured into the
subway tunnels below. Whooosh!—the sound it made was deafening. The
water rushed like a massive flood into the tunnels where the prisoners were
cowering. The chairs, barriers, and everything else were immediately swept
away.
“Aaaaaagh!!” The escapees let out a shriek, but the water swallowed
them in a flash. Not even an additional moment went by before the
violently surging water had completely submerged the entire subway, filling
the tunnels.
