A Hat In Time: SMS-Like Settings

  1. The following settings and bindings will make A Hat In Time feel most like Super Mario Sunshine. Since Y-Turns are not a thing in AHIT, I decided to place Interact on the Y button because sharing that action with any other can cause inconsistent or unwanted behavior. Hat Swap Menu or Cycle on Z makes sense, as the default controls map the hat menu to a bumper on Xbox360. Also I've placed Attack on X, but this is personal preference.

  3. I could see a slightly more "optimal" layout for runs could be Attack on Z and Hat Swap on X. This would allow you to mash attacks out ASAP during rollouts for example, and Hat Swap on X is more analogous to swapping Nozzles in SMS. If you want

  21. Z: Hat Swap (Hat_Hotkey_Right or Hat_Player_Badge_PageRight)
  22. R (analog): Hat power (Hat_Player_Badge_Activate)
  23. L (click): Align Camera (Hat_Player_CameraSnap)

  26. Using Mayflash 4-port Adapter
  27. 1. Navigate to \steamapps\common\HatinTime\HatinTimeGame\Config\Gamepads
  28. 2. Open GameCube_MayFlash.ini with Notepad
  29. 3. Rreplace all text in the file with the text in the following paste: https://pastebin.com/siw18jrr

  32. To change bindings for personal preference (or other controller types):
  33. 1. Open the .ini for the controller-type you are using
  34. 2. Find the name of the control you would like to modify in the [Binds] section (names above)
  35. 3. Find the line labeled "+Button" of the button you would like to use in the [Buttons] section
  36. 4. Change the ButtonID from step 2 to match the +Button in step 3
  37. 5. Save the file. Restart AHIT to check that what you did worked. You're set!
