SCENE 25: THE ROOM

[2025-2199.]

The room is a large chamber lined with snake head staties. At the other end of it, in front of a giant face of stone, there's a body lying on the floor. Hally rushes over.

	HALLY PORTER: "Jimny!"

Jimny shows no signs of life, and doesn't respond to Hally at all.

	HALLY PORTER: "Jinmy Don'T Die! \Nake Up,,, Wake Up Please!"

A figure enters from the darkness of the chamber. It is Tom, who has somehow not aged at all in the 50 years since the last attack. He seems entirely calm about the situation.

	TOM RURIDO: "She Can'T."

	HALLY PORTER: "Tom? Tom Ruido? What Did You Mean By Saying That? She ls..."

	TOM RURIDO: "She Is Alive, But Can'T Wake Up."

Tom seems entirely calm about the situation.

	HALLY PORTER: "Are You A Monster?"

	TOM RURIDO: "Memory, Stay In The Memory For 50 Years."

	HALLY PORTER: "She Is As Cold As An Ice! Jimny, Please Don'T Die! Get Up!"

Tom picks up the wand Hally - who is too busy tending to Jimny to notice - dropped on the floor.

	HALLY PORTER: "You Must Help Me Tom! There Is A Snake Inside!"

	TOM RURIDO: "When It Is Called It Will Appear."

Hally sees what Tom has stolen, and looks at him with disdain.

	HALLY PORTER: "Give Me My Magic Stick!"

	TOM RURIDO: "You Won'T Need It."

	HALLY PORTER: "We Have To Go! We Must Save Her!"

	TOM RURIDO: "I Am Afraid That I Can'T Help You. You Must Know, When Poor Jimny Is Getting Weaker... I Am Stronger."

We see various flashbacks, showing us the true role Jimny has played in the events leading up to this moment.

	TOM RURIDO: "Rigth Harry, It Is Jimny Welsly Who Opened The Door!"

	HALLY PORTER: "No, It Wasn'T Her... I Coulnd Not Be Her!"

	TOM RURIDO: "It Is Jimny Get The Snake Out, Ato Attack The Melon And The Cat! And She Left Those Messeges!"

	HALLY PORTER: "Why?"

	TOM RURIDO: "I Asked Her To Do It. You Will Find OutThat I Am Convincing... Of Course Jimny Doen'T Know What She Didi, But She Guess It Out.
			The Power Of The Diary Scares Her, So She Tried To Throw It Away To The Toilet. And Then, Of Course... You Picked ly. Because You Are The One I Want To Meet."

	HALLY PORTER: "Why Do You Want To Meet Me?"

Tom's voice remains calm, but has now taken on a smug, downright boastful edge.

	TOM RURIDO: "Jimny Told Me About You. I Have To See You, So I Decided To Show You The Fucking Haige's Experience Of Catching The Stupid The Professor, To Win You Trust."

	HALLY PORTER: "Haige Is My Friend! ...You Trap Him In Right?"

Tom gleefully admits to this accusation.

	TOM RURIDO: "I Have Diffirent Opinion With Haige. Only Doublic Believes That He Is Innocent."

	HALLY PORTER: "Doublic Know It Too."

	TOM RURIDO: "From Then On, He Is Watching Me! When I Was In School It Is Too Risky To Open The Door, So I Desided To Leave My Diary, To Keep A 16 Years Old Me Inside The Diary Until One Day...
			I Can Lead Other People To Finish The Great Task Of Slizalin!"

	HALLY PORTER:"But You Didin'T Finish It! After Afew Hours The Magic Apple Will Be Finished! The Stoned People Will Wake Up!"

	TOM RURIDO: "Didn'T I Tell You? That It Is Not That Important To Kill The Melon? The New Target Of Mine... Is You. I Don'T Understand Why A Babby Without The Talent Of Magic Can Beat Up The Greatest Magician?!
			How Can You Survive, Why The Power Of The Earth Has Been Destroyed, And You Were Not Hurt?!"

	HALLY PORTER: "Why Do You Care About How I Survived? That Is A Different Time!"

	TOM RURIDO: "Fodi Is My Past... Present And Future."

Tom Rurido writes his names with fiery letters in the air.

	(Tom Mafle Rudi)

With the flick of his magic stick the letters rearrange, spelling out a new, far more terrifying sentence...

	(I Am Fodi)

It's a perfect palindrome... provided you ignore the missing "i" and the six extra letters.

Hally is undertandably shocked.

	HALLY PORTER: "You? You Are The Bleed Of Slizelin? You Are The Fodi?!"

	FODI: "Of Course, You Won'T Think... That I Will Keep The Dirty Name Of My Melon Father! So, I Got A New Name For Myself!
			I Know When I Became The Greatest Magician, The Whole World Will Be Scared Of The Name!"

	HALLY PORTER: "Professor Doublic! He Is The Greatest Magicain!"

	FODI: "I Just Have A Little Memory Drive Him Away!"

	HALLY PORTER: "He Won'T Leave! Because A Lot Of People Are Still Loryal To Him!"

Hally and Fodi hear a bird's cry and look up. Fodi flies into the chamber. Hally's heart is suddenly filled with hope.

	HALLY PORTER: "Fodi."

[QUIRDERPH NOTE: The headmaster's loyal phoenix and the evil dark lord are both named Fodi. Hopefully this will not cause any confusion.]

Fodi passes over the head of Fodi, who ducks out of the way. Fodi then drops a familiar-looking hat in Hally's arms. Fodi looks at it mockingly.

	FODI: "This Is Doublic Gave His Fans! A Bird... And A Shabby Hat!"

Fodi walks up to the giant stone face, speaking to it in the snake language.

	FODI: "(Snake Language)"

The mouth of the statue begins to open. Fodi turns back towards Hally.

	FODI: "Let Us Show The Power Of Fodi, Now The Bleed Of Slizelin Is Faighting With Harry Port!"

Hally wisely runs away as the great snake dslithers out of the literal rockface.

	FODI: "(Snake Language)."

It looks at Fodi (who is apparently immune to its gaze) as he gives it its next command.

	FODI: "Your Language Can'T Sve You! It Only Listen To Me!"

(Fun fact: This line isn't in the book. It actually fills in a minor plot hole, as it originally wasn't clear why Harry couldn't just try to command the snake himself.)

Hally runs from the snake, tripping over. The snake gets ready to strike but is intercepted by Fodi, who pecks its eyes out.

	FODI: "No!"

Fodi is naturally furious.

	FODI: "But Your Phonex Can Make The Snake Blind, But The Snake Can Win You!"

Hally flees from the snake - managing to outwit it with a tossed stone - and returns to the room, where Fodi is still draining the life out of Jimny.

	FODI: "Right, It Is Going To Be Finished. A Few Minutes Later Jimny Welsly Is Going To Die, And I Am Not A Memory Again. Fodi Is Coming Back... And... Full Of... Life!"

	HALLY PORTER: "Jimny."

Hally tries in vain to wake Jimny up. The snake bursts out of the water and chases after Hally, who grabs a sword which materializes out of the hat and clims up on top of the statue head.
After a brief fight, Hally pierces the snake, killing it, but not without getting one of its venomous teeth stuck in the arm. Hally climbs down, approaching Fodi and Jimny, before collapsing on the floor.

	FODI: "Isn'T That Magic? The Speed For The Poison To Go Into Human 'S Body Is Really Fast. I Think You Have A Few Minutes Laft. You Are Going To Be With Your Mum, Harry.
		It Is Funny A Book Can Damage That Much, And It Is A Silly Girl Who Got It."

Defiantly, Hally takes the diary out of Jimny's grasp.

	FODI: "What Are You Doing Here?"

Hally takes the snake tooth in a determined grip. Fodi realizes what's about to happen and is hit with a panicked fury.

	FODI: "Stop You Can'T!"

Hally stabs the tooth into the book, which starts "bleeding" black ink. Fodi's body explodes like a firecracker. Jimny wakes up, clearly in shock.

[QUIRDERPH NOTE: Harry's line "Ginny." has been cut.]

	JIMNY WISLIN: "Harry, I Did'T It. But I Swear, I Didn'T Mean It. Tom Trapped Me In And... Harry You Are Hurt."

	HALLY PORTER: "Don'T Worry. Jimny, You Must Find A Way Out. Follow The Way, You Will Meet Ron..."

Fodi flies back into the romm. Hally and Jimny are naturally both delighted to see him.

	HALLY PORTER: "You Are Good Fodi, I Am Not Moving Fast."

Fodi cries at Hally's wound, healing it. Hally stares at the bird in fascination.

	HALLY PORTER: "Right... The Tears Of The Phones Can Cure. Thank You."

(Another change from the book to the film is that chronology of Harry's healing and the destruction of the diary have swapped places. Throughout taking out Tom Riddle, comforting Ginny and thanking Fawkes,
Harry is dying and knows it. It is only AFTER the climax that our hero's life is actually saved.)

	HALLY PORTER: "It Is Ok Jimny. It Is Over... That'S Just A Memory."

Fodi then grabs Mr. Lord Loha - sorry, Klate - Hally, Lean and Jimny and flies them out of... some other entrance everyone just missed all these years, I suppose. Whatever. It makes for a great visual.

	KLATE: "It Is Magic! It Is Like Magic!"

("I still don't know who I am! The last thing I remember is that ginger kid hitting me in the head with a rock! Wait a minute...")
