  2. [13:29] <Kilarra> ~~~Chapter 6: Descent into Midnight~~~
  3. [13:29] <Kilarra> -Session 100-
  4. [13:31] <Kilarra> The party, though weathering some rather extreme difficulties to do so, managed to destroy both the Glyph of Renewal at the Crystal Plaza, and the Glyph of Vigilance at the Fetid Palace, dealing with two of the most dire threats in the land of Black Blood at the same time.
  5. [13:34] <Kilarra> They returned, battered but not beaten, to the Shrine of Bound Earth to rest and prepare for the next Gylph or Glyphs they needed to undo.
  6. [13:34] * Kilarra wakes up, feeling still and sore, but overall pretty good. She just lays in the embrace of Aluthyra's wings until the aasimar wakes up.
  7. [13:36] * Aluthyra sleeps a little bit longer than usual after such an exhausting day. When she does wake, she smiles, kissing Kilarra's cheek. "Good morning."
  8. [13:36] <Kilarra> Kjell awakens as well, pulling out his spellbook and some rations. By now, Allevrah certainly knew what they had been doing, and would surely have had time to reinforce the other glyph sites. Although the existing deturrents had been more a threat than the drow so far, Allevrah had been enormously powerful even as a shadow, and he wanted to try and figure out a way to even the odds.
  9. [13:37] * Kilarra smiles at Aluthyta and nods, "Well, we don't know if it's actually morning or not down here, but close enough." She giggles. "On the plus side, I seem to still have the leftover energy from that renewal glyph working inside me."
  10. [13:37] <@Aluthyra> Kahree doesn't have preparing to do, as usual, and continues to sleep until someone fetches her.
  11. [13:38] * Aluthyra nods. "Good, I have a feeling we will need it." She sits up, stretching her arms and wings. "How long do you think it will last?"
  12. [13:40] * Kilarra shrugs, "No idea. I don't think we're lucky enough that its permanent, but we can make good use of it while it persists." She hugs Aluthyra gently, in case any of the residual burning or acid harm left her sensitive
  13. [13:41] * Aluthyra hugs back, sighing. "If only." She raises an eyebrow at Kilarra. "While preparing your spells today, do you have any blessings to assist us on hitting our enemy?" She frowns, shaking her head. "You did not see her, but neither Kjell nor I had much luck at all penetrating Allevrah's armor."
  14. [13:47] * Kilarra considers that. "Well, I has a wisdom boosting spell that would heighten your already keen senses, and some minor blessings." She ponders other options as she tries to guide Aluthyra to the entrance hall for a bit of privacy. Whether the Aasimar just wished to watch, or join in.
  15. [13:48] * Aluthyra will join in! She still has another few sets of clean robes.
  16. [13:51] <Kilarra> Kjell finishes preparing his spells, then gently taps Kahree's shoulder to wake her
  17. [13:55] <@Aluthyra> Kahree mumbles in her sleep, frowning. Another tap wakes her and she sits up. "Time to go?" she asks, clearly wanting more sleep.
  18. [13:58] <Kilarra> Kjell nods, "I believe that Kilarra will be finished her preparations momentarily. While she finishes up, I need help getting into my armour."
  19. [13:59] <@Aluthyra> Kahree sighs and nods, standing. "Alright.. let's get you suited up."
  20. [14:00] <Kilarra> Kjell smiles appreciatively
  21. [14:07] * Kilarra finishes up her preparations. "Well, I'm coming prepared today for any more illusions, and considering all the tentacles down here, I've got a little something just in case anyone gets grabbed again."
  22. [14:11] * Kilarra goes back to grab her vestements and breast plate. "Okay," she approaches Kjell, "Where are we heading?"
  23. [14:14] <Kilarra> Kjell pulls the map out. He smiles, having figured out the feedback puzzle. "The magic is running along the ley lines anti-clockwise. It seems to be a 'proper' order to dismantling the focus glyphs." He indicates the two they already disabled, and the direction the discharges headed after each one.
  24. [14:14] <Kilarra> Kjell notes, "And the discharges always seem to point to the 'next' glyph in the sequence, so our destination should be here," he points to Rotstone Hollows.
  25. [14:15] <@Aluthyra> Kahree looks over the map. "Fun."
  26. [14:15] * Aluthyra looks to Kilarra. "You have another scroll to get us there, yes?"
  27. [14:16] * Kilarra nods and pulls out two out two of them. "Two left. I can prepare the spell myself if we end up using them both before we're finished here."
  28. [14:20] <Kilarra> Kjell nods and turns the map over for his notes. "Rotstone Hollows is apparently home to Chardas, an indiginous population. Although considering how the drow tend to treat other species..."
  29. [14:21] * Aluthyra sighs. "Then it is not going to be good." She shakes her head. "I would imagine they are either gone by now, or working with the drow."
  30. [14:22] * Kilarra notes, "More likely -for- the drow. Those uppity elves wouldn't let any species they consider lesser act as allies rather than slaves."
  31. [14:23] <@Aluthyra> Kahree frowns. "Yeah, so let's go kick 'em out."
  32. [14:24] <Kilarra> Kjell blinks when Kilarra says slaves. "If they have enslaved the Chardas... perhaps we can serve as liberators." He smirks. "Granted, that's probably a pipe dream, but we should keep in mind who the real enemy is."
  33. [14:26] * Kilarra nods and uses the scroll, once more turning the party to vapour. "Let's go!"
  34. [14:27] * Kilarra lights up her mace again, remembering that Kjell can't read a map in the dark
  35. [14:28] <@Aluthyra> Kahree and Aluthyra rise with Kjell, ready to go!
  36. [14:28] <Kilarra> Kjell leads the party through the air to the Rotstone Hollows!
  37. [14:30] <Kilarra> {The Glyph of Watching: Rotstone Hollows}
  38. [14:31] <Kilarra> The monotony of the vast plain of reeking mud finally givesway to three ruined, leaning towers rising out of the muck. The mud and slime spattered about the towers seem almost to be reaching up out of the surrounding mudflats as if trying to drag them further down. A funnel-shaped depression in the mud sits in the middle of the ruins—something at the depression’s bottom glints like polished silver.
  39. [14:32] <Kilarra> In addition, five drow now walk about the perimeter of the three towers. Four of them look like rank and file soldiers, while the fifth seems to be an unholy priestess.
  40. [14:34] <Kilarra> Kjell looks to the misty form of Aluthyra, "Want to pick them off from above again?"
  41. [14:34] * Aluthyra nods. "I do, yes. Stay out of range, and I will take care of this."
  42. [14:35] * Aluthyra heads up to her maximum range, just about 100 feet, and begins to resolidify, wings lightly flapping to not alarm the drow just yet.
  43. [14:39] <Kilarra> The drow once again, seem to lack the ability to look up
  44. [14:46] * Aluthyra aims down at the most dangerous of the group first, firing a set of four arrows towards the priestess, while two more are aimed at the soldiers.
  45. [14:49] <Kilarra> The drow priestess is pincushioned before she can even get a word in, and the drow speaking to her is badly wounded. However, he has enough strength to shout and point upwards.
  46. [14:50] <Kilarra> However, the low range of their hand crossbows makes hitting Aluthyra t that height impossible.
  47. [14:51] * Aluthyra replies with another set of arrows, firing two into the injured drow, and two into two more targets.
  48. [14:58] <Kilarra> Aluthyra kills the injured drow and one of his companions, leaving only two, one of them struck by a single arrow. Unusually though, one of Aluthyra's shots errs and hits the ground next to him
  49. [15:00] <Kilarra> The injured drow runs for cover against one of the towers. He slips inside. The uninjured drow takes a potshot to cover for the one that fled
  50. [15:06] * Aluthyra fires another three arrows, these directed at the final drow still out in sight. As soon as the arrows leave her bowstring, she aims for the tower, closing her eyes... The monk then channels her ki, guiding her next three shots to curve into the drow's cover, aimed to kill.
  51. [15:11] * Kilarra 's jaw drows as Aluthyra's arrow veer and swerve. How the hell did she do that?!
  52. [15:14] <Kilarra> Aluthyra feels the impact of her arrows in drow flesh reverberate back along her Ki channels. Give her skill, the drow being dead would be a fair assumption, but she would need to see his corpse to be absolutely certain.
  53. [15:14] * Kilarra drifts over to Aluthyra, still in vapour form. "How did you do that?"
  54. [15:14] * Aluthyra smiles, wings carrying her town to the towers. "All clear."
  55. [15:14] <Kilarra> Kjell begins to descend first, now that the coast was clear.
  56. [15:14] * Aluthyra nods. "Ki. By channeling it through my arrows, I can direct them as I would like."
  57. [15:15] <@Aluthyra> Kahree lands next, smirking. "Nice job."
  58. [15:16] * Kilarra blinks. "Huh. Is it taxing?"
  59. [15:16] * Aluthyra nods. "Yes, but I have yet to run out of ki in a single day."
  60. [15:19] * Kilarra nods, "Alright, that's good." She descends and resolidifies.
  61. [15:20] <Kilarra> Kjell looks to Kahree, "Well, the glyph isn't out here. Nor is anything else it seems."
  62. [15:24] * Kilarra looks from Aluthyra to the tower that the drow had run inside. "Maybe it's in one of these."
  63. [15:24] <@Aluthyra> Kahree nods. "Yeah, I could sneak around and check, maybe?" She explains, "So we don't need to do any unnecessary fighting."
  64. [15:26] <Kilarra> Kjell nods, "Sounds good. Will you be alright on your own? I know you are hardy, and capable of moving quietly better on your own, but at the same time we have faced dire threats at every one of these glyphs so far."
  65. [15:27] <@Aluthyra> Kahree nods. "Yeah," she smirks. "With this new set of armor, I'll be fine. Makes sneaking a breeze."
  66. [15:29] <@Aluthyra> Kahree waves a hand. "Yeah, don't worry. I'll just be a few minutes."
  67. [15:29] <Kilarra> Kjell nods. "Alright then." He looks to the trio of towers, "Which one first?"
  68. [15:29] * Kilarra waves Kjell and Kahree over, or tries to. "The drow tried to go into this one when aluthyra did that... Ki thing."
  69. [15:30] <@Aluthyra> Kahree nods, moving for the same entrance the drow took. "That'll work then."
  70. [15:30] <@Aluthyra> Kahree moves in, looking around...
  71. [15:31] <Kilarra> The entrance had been hidden by mud and slime, but the drow had cleared it to slip inside. His corpse sits near the middle of the tower. The floor of this small, cramped room is caked with dust, and dried mud crusts over the floor and lower walls.
  72. [15:34] <@Aluthyra> Kahree frowns, moving into the small room. She looks around, checking for anything of note.
  73. [15:35] <Kilarra> beneath the drow Corpse, hidden under the dried mud, Kahree finds a trap door that looks like it hasn't been used in some time.
  74. [15:37] * Kilarra waits outside with Kjell and Aluthyra
  75. [15:37] <@Aluthyra> Kahree smirks, opening the trap door slowly and peering inside.
  76. [15:38] <Kilarra> The walls of this stone chamber area are pitted and filled with holes from which bits of slime slowly trickle, seemingly frozen in mid-drip. Stone double-doors dominate the southern wall, and the eastern wall is split between a makeshift door in a mudcarved corridor and an alcove with a fungus-vine ladder hanging from the ceiling above.
  77. [15:40] <Kilarra> Looking down into the room, Kahree can see four bizarre looking demi-humanoids, about the size of an average gnome. They look up when the door above them creaks open. They seem surprised
  78. [15:43] <Kilarra> Two of them stand guard at either end of the chamber, near the doorways. They just kind of stare at Kahree, but make no moves to reach her.
  79. [15:46] <Kilarra> They stand tense, poised to defend, but do not seem interested in lashing out offensively
  80. [15:46] <@Aluthyra> Kahree raises an eyebrow. "The drow are..." She frowns. They probably don't understand her. Instead, she decides to act it out! Kahree feigns yelling, putting a deep-set scowl on her face, looking down to the Charda. Sitting up, she bonks her mace (lightly) against her head, closing her eyes and making a gasping, dying sound. Kahree then simply looks to the Charda and smiles, looking for their reaction.
  81. [15:51] <Kilarra> The chardas look at each other in confusion. One of them points to the drow corpse next to the trap door. The others frown a bit, and chitter amongst themselves in Aquan. They seem to agree on something, and then resume their positions at the underground entrances to the chamber. One of them holds up three claws at the ifrit, then points to the south. It makes no further actions.
  82. [15:53] <@Aluthyra> Kahree smiles, dropping down with a nod to the chardas, and proceeds down the south chamber.
  83. [15:54] <Kilarra> The Chardas frown as Kahree drops in and move to attack.
  84. [15:55] <Kilarra> The one who mimed to Kahree scowls and shakes his head with a frown as he attacks
  85. [15:57] <@Aluthyra> Kahree growls, keeping both of her maces ready to counterattack. She points one at the drow corpse, then to the creatures in front of her. "Stop," she huffs.
  86. [15:59] <Kilarra> The Chardas look disheartened and frightened of Kahree, but they still press in towards her. She got the feeling they were in despair before she showed up, and were just trudging through the motions, barely even trying.
  87. [16:01] <Kilarra> The first Charda rushes at Kahree like a cannonball, trying to bowl her over
  88. [16:04] <Kilarra> Kahree feels the little humanoid slam into her gut. Rather than pushing her back, it knocks her flat on her back.
  89. [16:07] <Kilarra> The three remaining Chardas move over to Kahree, clawing at her half-heartedly.
  90. [16:08] <Kilarra> Their claws just seem to scrape uselessly against her armour
  91. [16:10] <Kilarra> Aluthyra can hear sounds of a struggle from within the tower.
  92. [16:10] * Aluthyra frowns. "Kahree may be in trouble. I can hear a fight. Should we go?"
  93. [16:12] <@Aluthyra> Kahree growls, hand reaching down to her belt, pulling off the stopper from her ever-smoking bottle. Immediately, the chamber fills with smoke, obscuring all vision. Kahree, of course, can still see perfectly. Being an ifrit has its perks. She attempts to stand.
  94. [16:13] * Kilarra nods, "Yeah. Haven't heard her yell, so she's probably not hurt, but she might need us anyways."
  95. [16:14] * Kilarra slips into the tower entrance first, then looks down at the smoke. "She's using that bottle of hers. Can't see a thing," she announces.
  96. [16:16] * Aluthyra frowns, looking within as she follows Kilarra. "With the smoke, we cannot do much to assist..."
  97. [16:18] <Kilarra> Kjell comes as well, frowning at the smoke. "If she's using that, then she's probably dealing with several enemies, probably trying to pick them off in the confusion." He calls into the pit, "Kahree, we are up here. If you need assistance, let us know!"
  98. [16:19] <@Aluthyra> "Fine, for now!" she calls back.
  99. [16:19] <Kilarra> The Charda's call out in Aquan to each other, but stay where they are, waiting to respond to attacks they won't see, rather than lashing out blindly.
  100. [16:22] <@Aluthyra> Kahree brandishes her maces, attempting to bash the nearest Charda.
  101. [16:29] <Kilarra> The Charda claws and bites in response, but only manages a couple grazing hits
  102. [16:32] * Kilarra frowns, "My magic sight won't penetrate regular smoke. Until it dissipates or Kahree tells us what she's doing, we're blind."
  103. [16:33] <Kilarra> Kjell asks, "Kahree is nimble and resistant to fire. The room appears to be small enough that I could fill it wit ha single fireball."
  104. [16:35] <Kilarra> Kjell seems to have only half thought out that plan, and waits for input from the others before even trying it
  105. [16:36] * Aluthyra hmms. "Although, Kahree tends to use her maces for non-lethal purposes. She may be mad if you singe her combatants."
  106. [16:37] <@Aluthyra> "Damn right, I'd be mad!" Kahree shouts back, "Listen to Aluthyra."
  107. [16:37] <Kilarra> Kjell nods and does nothing.
  108. [16:38] <Kilarra> The Chardas can hear fighting, but can't even see each other, and remain on the defensive.
  109. [16:38] <@Aluthyra> Kahree tries to finish off the charda by knocking it unconscious, swinging for its head.
  110. [16:40] <Kilarra> Kahree easily klonks the Charda unconscious. The others, not speaking common, have no idea what was said.
  111. [16:41] <Kilarra> One ofthe Chardas turns towards Kahree's voice, even if it didn't understand, and attempts to claw at her through the smoke.
  112. [16:42] <Kilarra> The Charda manages a single hit in it's flurry, but it doesn't do a lot of harm.
  113. [16:48] <@Aluthyra> Kahree frowns, not linking the hits (although weak). She decides to attempt to flip over the Charda, trying to land behind it and out of its reach.
  114. [16:50] <Kilarra> The small monstrous humanoids are easy to evade in the smoke.
  115. [16:50] <@Aluthyra> Kahree lands on the other side of the monster, and delivers a single blow to its back.
  116. [16:53] <Kilarra> The Charda screeches.
  117. [16:53] <Kilarra> The CHardas, their quarry once again vanished, go on the defensive again
  118. [16:55] <@Aluthyra> Kahree delivers several blows to the Charda's back, hoping to knock out the second.
  119. [16:56] <Kilarra> It goes down without knowing what hit it
  120. [16:57] <Kilarra> The remaining two stay on the defensive.
  121. [16:57] <@Aluthyra> Kahree moves to maneuver around a third, trying to stay out of its reach and pummel its back.
  122. [16:58] <Kilarra> The Chara turns around and takes a swing at Kahree
  123. [16:59] <Kilarra> The Charda manages another glancing blow.
  124. [16:59] <@Aluthyra> Kahree swings back, flurrying to knock the creature out cold.
  125. [17:01] <Kilarra> It goes down without much further resistance
  126. [17:01] <@Aluthyra> Kahree uses the same tactic for the last, moving around to its back and smashing down once.
  127. [17:02] <Kilarra> Kahree manages to bring the last one into unconsciousness as well
  128. [17:02] * Kilarra waits for word from Kahree on what was up.
  129. [17:03] <@Aluthyra> Kahree smirks, finally putting the stopper into her ever-smoking bottle. "All clear! A few of those Chardas were down here... they didn't seem like they liked being allied with the drow, so I made sure to knock 'em out."
  130. [17:09] * Kilarra waits for the smoke to clear and drops down. "They still attacked you." She checks Kahree's injuries
  131. [17:09] <Kilarra> Kjell jumps down wit ha heavy thud.
  132. [17:09] <@Aluthyra> Kahree shrugs. "Only a few scratches."
  133. [17:09] * Aluthyra drops down and looks about. "Find anything out?"
  134. [17:10] <@Aluthyra> Kahree nods. "Yeah, one of them pointed me to the south... think that'd be where we want to go."
  135. [17:10] * Kilarra pulls out her light wand and touches Kahree up
  136. [17:12] * Kilarra looks to Kahree, "So they pointed you where to go, but still attacked you when you came down. What do you think it means? Aside from a reluctant obedience to the drow."
  137. [17:17] <@Aluthyra> Kahree frowns. "They didn't want to attack..." She shakes her head. "The drow might have some kind of leverage on them."
  138. [17:19] * Kilarra nods, "Okay, and he pointed you to the south. A hint, obviously. Unless they were decieving us."
  139. [17:20] <@Aluthyra> Kahree shrugs. "Might as well try it out."
  140. [17:21] <Kilarra> Kjell nods, "Agreed. If the drow have enslaved the Charda, as I suspected, then we should see if there is a means to liberate them without undue bloodshed."
  141. [17:22] * Aluthyra nods, heading down the passage. "Then let's go."
  142. [17:22] * Kilarra looks to Kahree, "You should lead on then, in case we need some more non-lethal deterrence."
  143. [17:23] <Kilarra> The door to the south opens to a narrow hallway. The hallway leads to the left, but there is another door immediately across from the one the party used.
  144. [17:24] <@Aluthyra> Kahree nods, leading silently.
  145. [17:25] <Kilarra> The door to the south of the hallway leads to another, larger chamber.
  146. [17:26] <Kilarra> Strange candlelight lights a room decorated with crude clay jars and exotic gourds. A few large, flat stones hold sticks, bones, and small rocks, and a pile of brown, cloth-like mats rests folded in a corner.
  147. [17:27] <Kilarra> A single Charda is seated in this room, looking like she had been sitting there for some time. She looks up as the doors open. She stands and approaches, claws folded. She speaks to the party in Aquan, standing about 10ft away from them.
  148. [17:28] <Kilarra> Her voice is thick and slobbery, and her words are in a language the party doesn't speak.
  149. [17:29] * Aluthyra looks to Kilarra and Kjell. "Any spell to assist?"
  150. [17:29] * Kilarra blinks, "Uh... hang on." She casts Comprehend Languages on herself.
  151. [17:30] <Kilarra> The Charda seems content to wait, then repeats. "What new sacrifice must the Unblinking Scales offer to the Blood Witch today?"
  152. [17:30] * Kilarra looks to the rest of the party, then repeats what was said. She could understand the words, but their meaning was lost in the vernacular.
  153. [17:34] <Kilarra> Kahree clues in. The Unblinking Scales were what these creatures called themselves, and the Blood Witch was someone who was demanding sacrifices from them, presumably Allevrah, or another drow under her command.
  154. [17:34] <@Aluthyra> Kahree raises an eyebrow. "I think the Charda would be the Scales, and maybe... Allevrah's the blood witch?"
  155. [17:34] * Kilarra nods, "Okay, so they think we're here to collect an offering on her behalf then?"
  156. [17:35] <Kilarra> Kjell blinks, "Oh, hang on." He pulls out his bloodlink. "If they can communicate with the drow, then perhaps they also speak Undercommon."
  157. [17:36] * Kilarra blinks, "Good point." She takes off her holy symbol necklace and pulls on her own bloodlink. She speaks back to the Charda in Undercommon. "We do not serve the Blood Witch. We are her sworn enemies. We seek to prevent a terrible destruction she intends to wreak."
  158. [17:36] <@Aluthyra> Kahree and Aluthyra both don their bloodlink necklaces as well.
  159. [17:38] <Kilarra> The Charda blinks in surprise. She eyes them suspiciously for a moment, then says: "The Blood Witch Slaughtered half of my tribe, and demanded the obedience of those that remained. We had no choice, and now her Slave stands poised to crush our eggs should we defy her."
  160. [17:38] <@Aluthyra> Kahree frowns. "Where is her Slave?... If you let us, we can save your eggs."
  161. [17:41] <Kilarra> The Charda seems to be perking up at this news, a bit of excitement emerging through what seems to have been a lingering bout of shame and depression. "The Blood Witch is enemy of the Unblinking Scales, and the Unblinking Scales are mightiest tribe. Aid us, save our eggs, and perhaps more aid you can recieve."
  162. [17:41] <@Aluthyra> Kahree smiles. "Then sure. Just tell us where to go."
  163. [17:43] * Kilarra smiles. This was certainly a welcome change. Not only something not trying to kill them (at least not very hard), but possible aid down here.
  164. [17:44] * Kilarra blinks, then looks to the Charda leader. "I am Kilarra, what is your name? As well, is the Slave the only servant of the Blood Witch here?"
  165. [17:47] <Kilarra> The Charda nods. "I am Blacktongue Klirkit. Only the Slave, but he is strong. We all fear him."
  166. [17:48] * Kilarra turns to the party, smiling. "I've got an idea. I can alter my form once per day. I disguise myself as a drow, have Klirkit take me to the chamber as either a guard from above or an emmissary from Allevrah, then with a single touch, I can kill him."
  167. [17:48] * Kilarra is speaking in Common to see what her ALlies thing before suggesting it to Klirkit
  168. [17:49] <@Aluthyra> Kahree nods. "I can slip in too. If your spell fails, you'll need backup."
  169. [17:49] * Kilarra looks to Aluthyra, "You can turn invisible... yeah, exactly."
  170. [17:49] <Kilarra> Kjell smiles. "I am not normally one for subterfuge, but this could work."
  171. [17:50] * Kilarra looks back to Klirkit; "Tell me of the Blood Witch's Slave. It is possible I can slay him with the power of my Goddess."
  172. [17:51] <Kilarra> Klirkit seems intrigued at the mention of Kilarra's Goddess. "Troglodyte called Orrn. He is half-sane and delights in murder. Sneaky and treacherous, cowardly."
  173. [17:53] <Kilarra> Klirkit frowns, "But recently, two demons have joined him. Red, immaciated, wielding spears."
  174. [17:54] * Kilarra looks back to the party, "Reinforcements. Probably because of what we've been getting up to."
  175. [17:55] <Kilarra> Kjell smiles, "I also had the good fortune to prepare invisibility, but my lack of precision could be a risk to the eggs. I could use it on Aluthyra though."
  176. [17:56] * Aluthyra nods. "Then... Kahree and I can position ourselves to take out the two demons, while Kilarra tries her spell on the trog."
  177. [17:57] <Kilarra> Klirkit seems to be growing more excited at the prospect of her tribe's liberation. "Can you do this? Can you defeat the Slave and free our eggs?"
  178. [17:57] * Aluthyra nods to Klirkit. "I believe we can, yes."
  179. [17:57] <Kilarra> Kjell points out, "If that room is being used against the Charda, it's probably guarding the Glyph as well. We'll have to make sure we can disable it properly this time."
  180. [17:58] <Kilarra> Kjell frowns, "Risking oursleves against the magical backlash is one thing, but these CHardas are innocent and unborn, and cannot be risked."
  181. [18:01] * Kilarra nods, "Alright, we have a plan then." She looks back to Klirkit. "Lead us to the Egg Chamber. Once we are outside its doors, we shall don disguises that will let us get close to the slave. If fortune favours us, we can kill him and the demons without risk to the eggs."
  182. [18:03] <Kilarra> Klirkit nods. "I will do this. Led by me, you will not be attacked." She pulls out a scroll. "This is my prized posession. If you think it can help, you can take it."
  183. [18:03] * Kilarra examines the scroll.
  184. [18:04] * Kilarra shakes her head, then looks to the party. "It's a scroll of Heal. I have that prepared already." She looks back to Klirkit. "My Goddess grants me similar power. I thank you, but it is not needed."
  185. [18:04] <Kilarra> Klirkit nods and slips the scroll away.
  186. [18:05] <@Aluthyra> Kahree raises her maces. "Ready to go."
  187. [18:05] <Kilarra> Klirkit leads the party out of her chamber and through the narrow hallways of the Unblinking Scales' nest. She stops when they reach the door. "Through here."
  188. [18:06] <@Aluthyra> Kahree nods, mumbling and touching her hand to her chest. As soon as she does, she turns invisible.
  189. [18:07] * Kilarra nods and users her Alter Self ability to assume the form of a Drow Priestess. The Bloodlink would make her appear evil, just in case any of them were looking for it.
  190. [18:07] <Kilarra> Kjell is just about to cast invisibility on Aluthyra, then stops. "Wait, those demons she described were Babaus. They can see through invisibility."
  191. [18:08] <@Aluthyra> Kahree frowns. "Then... any other spells you think that'll help?"
  192. [18:10] <Kilarra> Kjell shakes his head, "None that I thought to prepare."
  193. [18:10] * Kilarra pulls out two scrolls, "Kahree, can you use magical items like wands and scrolls?"
  194. [18:11] * Kilarra notes, "I was saving these for just such an occasion. They're dismissal spells."
  195. [18:12] <@Aluthyra> Kahree smirks. "Yeah, I actually can."
  196. [18:13] * Kilarra nods, "Then I'll go in alone first with Klirkit." She hands one of the scrolls to the Charda. If she could use a heal scroll, she could use one of those. "I'll kill the Trog, then you two use these to get rid of the Babaus
  197. [18:13] <Kilarra> ."
  198. [18:14] <Kilarra> Klirkit takes the scroll and looks it over. She seems excited once again.
  199. [18:15] <@Aluthyra> Kahree nods. "Right... ready when you are then." She looks over the scroll, nodding once again.
  200. [18:15] <Kilarra> Kjell steps back and lets the priestesses go first.
  201. [18:15] <Kilarra> Klirkit opens the door...
  202. [18:16] <Kilarra> The high ceiling of this long chamber glows with the light of a large sigil floating against the north wall. Mud surfaces give way to hard, slate-like stone to the north, while to the south the floor is thick with a several clusters of skull-sized eggs nestled into the muck.
  203. [18:17] <Kilarra> The Pale Grey troglodyte stands and approaches the Charda Shaman. "What is the meaning of this intrusion? You tended the eggs already not an hour ago."
  204. [18:17] <Kilarra> Klirkit points to Kilarra. "This priestess claims to have business with you."
  205. [18:19] * Kilarra steps towards Orrn. "The interlopers from the surface are attacking another glyph."
  206. [18:19] <Kilarra> Orrn rolls his eyes, "So?" he hisses, "So long as it's not this one, why should I care?"
  207. [18:19] * Kilarra smirks. "It is this one." She then grabs the Troglodyte and floods him with negative energy.
  208. [18:20] <Kilarra> The Troglodyte roars in pain and fury as severe injures spring up all over his body.
  209. [18:21] * Kilarra applies a quickened dose of lesser negative energy to finsih the job.
  210. [18:22] <Kilarra> Orrn's eyes roll back as bloody spittle foams around his mouth and he falls to the floor.
  211. [18:22] * Kilarra grins. ABout time she got to try that
  212. [18:24] <@Aluthyra> Kahree points to one of the demons and reads the scroll!
  213. [18:26] <Kilarra> The Babau vanishes, shunted back to the Abyss
  214. [18:27] <Kilarra> The other Babau looks at the dead Troglodyte, then teleports away.
  215. [18:27] * Kilarra looks relieved. They had done it. And not a single egg had been harmed to boot.
  216. [18:28] <Kilarra> Klirkit's face lights up with what looks like joy. She lets out a cry. A few moments later, a half dozen other Charda enter, looking ready for a fight. She points to the dead Troglodyte and speaks to them in Aquan. All at once they ley up a series of chittering cheers, shaking their claws victoriously.
  217. [18:30] <Kilarra> Kjell smiles, looking to Aluthyra. "I think we did good."
  218. [18:31] * Kilarra shifts back to her tiefling form and nods. "She was just telling them that we are their liberators, and that their eggs have been saved."
  219. [18:31] * Aluthyra nods, chuckling at the happiness seen in the creatures. "Yes, yes we did."
  220. [18:31] <Kilarra> Kjell turns his attention to the glyph, speaking in Undercommon. "Now all we need to do is undo this Glyph, and the Blood Witch will hold no more power here."
