The fact is that humans are a species with high paternal investment, marriage correlates with fertility (in whites anyway), and "Dads" do not invest in promiscuous women. This is why monogamy exists, and means monogamy will be pushing this further. The power of paternal investment makes monogamy advantageous.

This means monogamy has evolved out, and is further evolving out, cads and sluts as well as cucks of course (though social changes and technological shifts do end releasing the inner slut/cad in people like birth control did, always a possibility).

It is impossible to have high rates of paternal investment and cuckoldry. Species with paternal uncertainty dont have paternal investment, promiscuity is not chided, and the males have strong sperm while humans have awful sperm. Cuckoldry would weed out the dads in favor of cads, which would end paternal investment.
