i don't think speaking out with a differing opinion is what got people banned... more about the manner in which you participate in the discussions and the manner in which you treat other people
at least, that's what i could observe in the past several months anyway
at the very least though, there shouldn't be anything scaring you away from DMing someone on the team with questions about it, there's nothing harmful to the discord in doing that
and it seems they've been alright with talking about it here for the time being just because it's fresh, but i'm sure eventually they'll want to return things to normal functioning
