1. Name: Archer
Emiya Shirou.
2.
3. Universe: Fate/Stay Night, the Nasuverse
4.
5. Appearance:
6.
7. Personality: A mess of contradictions; Archer is a cynic through and through, and nihilistic to boot, but without a more desirable goal as an option will still protect those he cares for and save those he can. He's not one prone to lying, but omits information like it's going out of fashion. Whilst he's fully capable of being nice, he's far more likely to be sarcastic.
8. Secretly, he likes doing housework.
9.
10. Powers/Skills: Archer has but a single power--but from this he derives his other powers, and focuses his skills around utilising it. This power? The Reality Marble 'Unlimited Blade Works': a representation of his self, thrust upon the world itself and capable of temporarily replacing it. Even whilst not active in this way, Archer still analyses all melee weapons he sees, and many other pieces of combat equipment (not, however, guns and other modern armaments) and they can be replicated using UBW before being projected into the world--inferior to the original, but as close to it as one can get by magical replication, copying everything from structure through to history, the original wielder's techniques, and abilities. Swords and defences can even be altered to desire; an ability that Archer can also apply to himself, though mostly it sees use for improving his eyes.
11. Summoned as a Servant, Archer is innately much stronger and faster than he was as a mortal human, though by the standards of Heroic Spirits he's pathetically weak. The gap is closed through training: from sheer determination and hard work, Archer has a mindset and tactical brilliance that enables him to analyse all the possibilities of a situation and work towards the goal that gets him closest to winning. For instance, against a vastly superior foe who would kill him through a thousand cuts if he fought normally, Archer deliberately left holes in his defences--a single miss would be instant death, but these blows could be blocked.
12. As an Archer, as his class implies, his aim is not so much 'good' as 'perfect': not once has he missed the target--though people have dodged--in the slightest without deliberately setting out to miss.
Because he's Shirou, it is a logical conclusion that he's an excellent cook.
14. Brief Bio: A human that became a Heroic Spirit, summoned for the Grail War, caused a lot of trouble, changed his mind, and then died happy.
Emiya Shirou; originating from a path that fits none of the routes. A year after the Holy Grail War, Ilya died--not a good start. Then, as he spent a lifetime chasing his ideal, trying to save people, he found himself alone. That was fine, all he cared for was saving people. Finally, he made a contract with the world itself: in exchange for power now, he would serve it after death, saving humanity, and thus enabling him to save people he otherwise couldn't in his present.
15.
16. Then he got betrayed and executed by one of the very people he'd saved, blamed for starting a war he'd in fact finished. But Emiya Shirou didn't care; he'd followed his ideal to the end and had no regrets. Then... he became a Counter Guardian: summoned only when something that would wipe out humanity happened, forced to kill the perpetrator and leave. An uncountable time outside time, summoned with no reference to causality but only seeing that which he hated and forced to do the opposite of his life's work.
17.
18. Thus, when he was summoned into the 'present' as the Servant Archer, he was left focused on one option: kill Emiya Shirou himself, and hope that the paradox freed him from his torture. Rather a lot of work went into this, but in the end he was unable to make his past self concede, and was thoroughly killed. He did, however, reconcile himself with his ideal once again.
19.
20. Equipment: Aside from the infinite supply of swords, Archer has body armour from a material some years ahead of the modern world, and a coat made from a saint's shroud.
