  1. As Yam made its escape, the first thing to pop into its mind had been simple, its own revovery. It hadn't cared about what Vldai's state had been, nor what was going on with the mortals that ran off with the gigantic Kaor. Instead, it was only worried about itself, worried about its own damages and the amount of time it was going to actually take to heal. Sadly enough, as it began to continue with its escape from the Wychwood and into the desert, it could feel the Urayan's sacred emblem still within it. The itching and aggrivating pain that led Yam to be in more of a ticked off mood then usual.
  2.
  3. Heck, a rampage probably would've been ensued if Yam hadn't thought about one simple thing, it had evolved finally! Yes, such was a beatiful thing of course, evolving and such. It felt good to actually evolve, and since Yam had done so it was able to concentrate its own occultic energy to try and block off and destroy the emblems power, though this would take time. A lot of time at that, we're talking -weeks-. For all of these weeks, Yam was within the desert, simply resting near a sort of 'oasis' since water seemed to be something this yokai had actually...enjoyed?
  4.
  5. Anyways, as Yam sat about, its injuries now healed, and the emblem's powers actually going away very slowly, it began to think of where it'd make its next moves. How it would actually go about them and such. What would it be doing from here on out?
  6. (Yam Vldai)
  7. It had taken some time. But Nerian had finally prepared his own new disguise. Since he had changed his plans to do something that was out of his confort zone. It would seem that this was the only way for him to get away with this in the end was to change everything about him and choose new things and take a newly found approach upon the things that he will have to do now.
  8.
  9. But his first plan was, after he gained his disguise. Would make quick haste across the prarie lands to only end up within the desert. But before he would go into battle head on. He had to stock up supplies. Meaning water.
  10.
  11. So Nerian would take his time making his way towards the west side of the Desert. There was a little opening which made way for open water. Sure if it had any salt in it, he could just boil the water and later contain the fresh water out of that. So that was no biggy. But the only thing that stood in his way now was that he had came upon a Yokai which was just sitting oddly in the distance. It had seemed to be thinking? If anything or probably waiting for something. So trying out his best way to approach the scenario. He decided to take the more like demanding, straight forward route.
  12.
  13. Casually he walked towards the being and announced as he approached.
  14.
  15. "A yokai in the burning hot Sarab? Thats very unusual. What are you doing here?" he stated in a menacing tone
  16. (Nerian)
  17. Its eyes continued to stare out into the waters, the blue reflection from the sky for whatever reason had been pleasing this yokai as of now. Still, it couldn't simply sit around here, staring off into space all the time. Instead, it needed to think of its next steps. How it would continue to grow and move on into the next stages of its evolution without having to completely suicide bomb the perimiter of a camp...completely on accident mind you. Still, such a thing shouldn't be done. Yam began to think of some way it could actually try and...make sure its own life continued as well as its continued growth had happened. What could it do in order to gain such a thing though? That's when the voice of Nerian was heard!
  18.
  19. Yam would turn, facing the mortal, and the bulb of ideas would quickly flash on as the yokai continued to stare at this man. This was the very reason why the Kaor had been defeated earlier, why Yam was forced to take its defeat as well, and to lose a horn to its birth giver! It was all because of humans, but not just humans, their numbers! They'd grown oh so much, and populate basically all of Valmasia whilst the yokai kind continued to dwindle down in numbers as they'd been slain nearly everyday by the mortals blade! Things needed to change.
  20.
  21. Yam's seen it before, Vldai using other mortals, and making deals with them, alliances and such. Maybe such needed to be done for Yam as well should it actually want to continue its own survival and evolution progress, right? The yokai would go on to speaking, not being hostile for once as it did, and instead actually feeding the conversation rather than cutting it off at a moments notice. "I've come only to rest. To rest, and the fact that i've become somewhat a fan of these waters..." a chuckling noise was heard then before he continued.
  22.
  23. "And what of you, mortal? Do you mean to tell me you're just idly roaming about these deserts in search of simply....nothing? What brings even you out into the scorching sun, deep into it might I add." was Neria looking for something? It could be a possibility, right? Heck, if Yam was correct then he just may gain himself an ally. Then again, he could also gain himself a enemy as well. Not like those were new.
  24. (Yam Vldai)
  25. "I have nothing to hide." Nerian said with a dead look in his eyes as he stared dead into the creatures eyes.
  26.
  27. It would seem that his new appearance wasn't as serious as he would've thought it was, as the creature infront of him really didn't jump at the sight of his new look at all but instead talk to him in a calm way. Usually whenever Nerian took such an offensive state, it would drive anyone into aggression and cause them to take up an defensive route. Guarding themselves from whatever may come at them. But now, the yokai had seemed to be laid back and not really that worried about his sudden appearance. The only thing that did make Nerian thing that he was the least bit of worried was that the yokai had asked about his doings. Which could've just been mere interest. Which was probably so. But it would seem that Nerian would need to change his act quickly. He needed to come off more aggresive like and serious instead of playful. But as of this time. He would just keep it at a collective level. One that won't start a fight unless the Yokai wanted to do so. Which, wasn't very likely as the being had started off by saying that it had came to rest and it had become a fan of the waters. To which to a point, he could understand. They were calming at the look, as it flowed freely without any restraints and going where ever it pleased. So that was something that he could come to understand.
  28.
  29. "I'm simply heading towards Wychwood. But I had came here stock up on supplies. But I see that it was already occupied. I'm sure that you wouldn't dare to claw at my back once its turned right?" he questioned the yokai as he narrowed in his eyes towards the being.
  30.
  31. (Nerian)
  32. "Oh?"
  33.
  34. Yam couldn't help but chuckle some, a croak escaping here and there as he did. This man, Nerian. He sounded pretty confident in all honesty. It was pretty amazing how confident he was infront of such a large yokai at that, though it wasn't like Yam was giving off much of a 'violent' expression at this point in all honesty. Maybe working on that a little bit was going to be needed? Anyways, as Yam went on to listening to Nerian for the time being, he would soon come to understand that this man had been heading towards the Wychwood. Was he...was he with -them-? Yam would suddenly stand, the now 12 ft. tall toad looking yokai focusing its efforts solely upon Nerian of course.
  35.
  36. "Wychwood you say?" it'd let out a croak then just before moving on. "Such a place is...horrid? Wouldn't you say?" Suddenly, Yam seemed a bit more aggressive. As if Nerian only had one answer here because the other would've just led to trouble or something. "Tell me then, are you apart of the other mortals that've gathered within the Wychwood, or are you just some lost soul only traveling about?" Such was needed at a time like this. Actually knowing what Nerian's alliance was or wasn't with them was going to decide what the giga yokai would be doing next.
  37. (Yam Vldai)
  38. "Depends on which mortals we are talking about. . . " Nerian said as he reached behind his back and grabbed at the mid section of his spear.
  39.
  40. With one quick swift movement. Nerian ripped it from its holding on his back, suddenly twirling it in his hand as he whipped it out in front of him. No longer than a second, he flicked his wrist upwards sending his spear straight up into the air. Spiraling in a rapid motion. During this time Nerian would roll his shoulders and release out a small sigh as he awaited for his spear to fall back down to reach within his grasp. To which he raised his right hand and caught it by the base in a horizontal position. Only later would he rest it behind his neck as he slung both arms over it, relaxing his self as he held his spear there as his eyes barrowed in on the yokai.
  41.
  42. Nerian took such a approach due to the way how the yokai had stood up to it's gigantic size of a whooping 12 ft stance. As the creature stared down upon him. It couldn't make him feel any more smaller than he already is. Which is pretty small compared to other humanoids. So in his way to show that he was capable of fighting and to have an easy and more quicker way of using his spear in battle since it was twice his size. He showed off a bit and held his spear around his neck. Which would allow him to get off a strike at a moments notice due to his flexibility and his agility. So he had next to nothing else to worry about.
  43.
  44. "I guess you could say I'm a lost soul traveling about. But don't you dare call my home a horrid place Yokai" he said in a low deep tone. But he raised his voice loud enough to be heard
  45. (Nerian)
  46. A stare was given to Nerian as the yokai began to wonder just what humans the Ookami had actually been allied with. It didn't question such for to long though, rather, it went on to now focusing on the spear handling skills Nerian decided to suddenly show off, how amusing. Such had been like a threat to Yam though, and as of now, its claws were slowly escaping the toad yokai's webbed hands, at least up until Nerian placed it behind his neck and began to talk even more, somewhat explaining himself.
  47.
  48. "I see...Then you must consider just your own kind to be...your allies? Or are there very few who you've come into contact with that you've decided you wish to keep close as your 'allies'." this was important to know honestly. Yam had to figure out if Nerian had been apart of the rebels, or maybe his allies came from elsewhere? "Might you be allied with the humans with such disgusting holy magic? Hmmm?" a croaking noise was made once again, the yokai's jaw expanding before returning to normal. Yam now leaning forward in order to listen closely to what Nerian had to say about such a foul magic..exorist were just...just..disgusting!
  49.
  50. For now, Yam ignored the home comment. He figured if Nerian could defend his own home such was good. Maybe Yam would have to do the same at some point himself, correct? Anyways, the yokai would go on to saying "Should you be with such disgusting magi, I have no problem myself sending you back to them with a 'message'...Though, might you truely be a lost soul or even a allied mortal of the occultic forces or something of that sort, maybe we can...ally ourselves, hm?" it seems Yam was being straight to the point rather than lying. How would Nerian take this? Would they lie in their own answer, or tell the truth?
  51. (Yam Vldai)
  52. It would seem as if there was more going on than what Kilanjo had realized. It would be different as it would seem that he must've struck some kind of soft spot by how the creature was reacting.
  53.
  54. He didn't even have to see it before he realized what Yam had done, the creature had released its claws from both of its webbed hands. Seeming to extend them to its full length. But the Ookami didn't want to let the yokai know that he was intimidated, so he forced himself not to flinch at the sound of it. It was an odd sensation as it did send a shiver down his spine by the sick sound that it had made. But other than that, he was good. He just knew that if either of the two were going to say the wrong thing. That the two would go at it, no questions asked. The only thing was, would one of them come out alive? Would it only be one? Or both? Only time could tell, but the sudden heat of the moment hyped up Nerian as he started to feel the thrill of danger. So without meaning too, his lips had perked up into a grin as he continued to listen to the yokai talk.
  55.
  56. To which surprised him, it would seem that the creature didn't seem to hide anything. Rather the beast got straight to the point. Something that he liked, and appreciated. To which he responded too quickly as soon as the being was done talking.
  57.
  58. "To the group that your talking about. I have no clue about because no one I know holds such a power."
  59.
  60. Kilanjo would then release his spear from his shoulders by sliding down towards his right side and grabbing it in his right hand. Point the blade of the spear towards the ground.
  61.
  62. "What makes you think that I would ally myself with you?" he questioned in a low tone as he narrowed in his eyes towards the creature. He wanted to know what the being could offer him if the two were to ever possibly team up
  63. (Kilanjo)
  64. It seems the man before him had no actual alliance with the holy type, such seemed good. Maybe he was lying of course, but even if he was it'd only end up with Yam on top...Somehow. Either way, with this man now seeming to only be much more of a freelancer, Yam actually had a chance to complete its plan. To actually gain someone it could sort of call an 'ally'. One that'd not only be an aid to its survival, but an aid to its continued progression towards becoming somethings it sought after for oh so long, Kaor status! Oh how Yam awaited such a beatiful stage of its life, though it knew it'd hae to wait, and only time would tell when the yokai could actually become such a magnificent beast.
  65.
  66. "I see..." Yam would say for a moment just before moving on. "Why ally yourself with me hm?" another croaking noise was heard followed by a few chuckles just before Yam went on. "I'm sure a lot of you mortals are always on the path for one thing, yes? Power am I correct? Though your blade skills are impressive I bet you'd like more than what you already have, correct?" of course, Yam could be dead wrong here, and this mans power could've been exactly where he wanted it, though who liked to really be stagnate? "Ally yourself with me, and earn a chance to actually use your strength and such for something...more." he'd allow a chuckle to escape suddenly then just before moving on.
  67.
  68. "Of course, if you'd like a test of what i'm talking about, such could always be arranged." testing out his newly acquired strength wouldn't hurt anyway. Had this man, and possible new ally agreed then the two would start up a fight pretty soon here.
  69. (Yam Vldai)
  70. His interest had reached its climax. The yokai infront of him had seemed to prepare itself to battle him just to show the true benefits of actually joining up with the creature. To which he didn't mind at all! Shoot it was better than anything else! probably the best! It would be an amazing thing for him to test how 'his'! new found skills against the being.
  71.
  72. To which he took a few steps back to acknowledge the yokai as an opponenet instead of just another brainless creature amongst the herd of sheep.
  73.
  74. " I guess I can get used to the croaking." Kilanjo said slyly as he gripped his blade with a new found look in his eyes. It was more like enlightenment. He was actually looking forward to this battle with the yokai. It would be elegant if not better! Well, maybe he was giving the creature to much credit. Maybe he just longed for a battle after such a long time of being on the sidelines and watching things go by. Sure he hadn't found out what had happened to Timber and waited for such a long time, but it would seem that he grew tired of waiting and now was on his own again. Something that he loved being. A free wanderer. It wasn't like Timber had owned him or anything but Kilanjo had felt some way as that they needed to look out for the other due to their relationship. But with the malperican now gone. He would need to watch his own back, which brought a thrill. The thrill of life or death. You had to be extra cautious as you went into battle. No matter what you did, saw, or said. It meant either life or death.
  75.
  76. "Show me what I could possibly gain from working with you." he announced as he swiped at the ground with his spear, casuing the spot where he grazed with his spear to be sliced deep within the earth. No later would the wind of the surrounding area pick up. Which casued wind to impact the everything in the area. The wind magi would definatly take this oppurtunity to test out the waters of his new skills.
  77.
  78. "Impress me creature . . . ."
  79. (Kilanjo)
  80. How funny Nerian seemed, commenting on the giga's croaking noises and what not. Anyways, it seemed that he had actually be prepared for a go, a test of strength, something to at least show for with all the big-talk Yam was giving. This at least seemed to be like the perfect time for Yam to try and use the newly gained strength and power from its evolution, right? Almost like instinct, Yam began to prepare. A loud, louder than usual at least, croaking noise noise had been made repeatedly. Echoing throughout the desert for a while just before there was a different sound heard. Snarls!
  81.
  82. One...two...no, three! Three of the lesser kind had come to Yam's side in that moment. Coming from up top the large cliffs or even the water from behind, how lovely! Yam would chuckle some, surprised it could actually control its own kind as of now, at least those within the lower parts of the caste system of their kind of course. Anyways, now turning towards the man with the spear, Yam would go on to croaking once more. Darkness now waving over the area in high amounts, higher than they were when Yam was just a simple mega yokai too.
  83.
  84. A dark shroud of occultic energy soon formed around Yam's being, and with its claws soon after showing themselves, Yam got ready. Soon getting on all fours with a loud 'thud' and slowly bending as this toad seemed prepared to leap at the man in order to begin both of their testing of each others strengths!
  85. (Yam Vldai)
  86. Just when he thought that the croaking couldn't get any worse.
  87.
  88. The creature had released an loud pounding sound which rang out of the desert. It would seem that the yokai had given a battle cry? So Kilanjo would just lift himself off of the ground and advance towards the being. Only to stop in place as he felt the presence of 3 other creatures of depravity approaching.
  89.
  90. ' Is it one? Noo. . . its two. . . three?" Kilanjo thought as he was observing the surroundings. He would then notice yokai's climb from the upper large cliffs or even the water to join the Giga. To which Kilanjo would smile foolhardly. A challenge for him it would seem like it.
  91.
  92. Then a show of Yam's own power amped up as it was suddnely surrounded by occultic energy. But what had made him cringe a little as he prepared for battle was how the yokai fell upon all fours and leaped into battle. But he shrugged it off as he went towards the being aswell!
  93.
  94. The two sides would clash as Kilanjo had some how managed to dodge each attack that was thrown his way. Pulsating his mana through his entire being. Feeling it course through his body and pumping it throughout his limps. He was moving faster than normal. Pushing himself past normal limits to evade such attacks and going through. It was as if he was teleporting around the battle field as he fought the Giga and its companions. Slicing at its tought skin and towards the lesser yokai's aswell.
  95.
  96. With one quick swoop, the lesser had ceased to exist. For the mega and tera, it took a quick swipe of 100 cuts to finish those two creatures off. Which was cake at the rate of speed that Kilanjo was reaching. But it would seem that Kilanjo was celebrating in the glory of defeating the lessers with such ease. The Giga had cleaved him striaght in his side. Tipping him off balanced as his eyes grew wide in shock.
  97.
  98. At that moment had Kilanjo's eyes grew in size as he was in shock. He was too conceited at the point which became his down fall. He was clawed on his side as it drew blood and left him bleeding, but not fatally.
  99.
  100. Enraged by the act, Kilanjo shoved the blunt end of his spear into the ground and pushed himself off of it and towards Yam's direction. It wouldn't take a second longer as Nerian cleaved the Giga's side with his spear. Causing blood to spill aswell. The only problem was that he wasn't able to cut him deep. Same with the his wound. It wasn't deep but it did bleed. So with a couple of back steps.
  101.
  102. Kilanjo said with a smirk on his face. "Y'know. . . . . Your not that bad for a Yokai"
  103. (Kilanjo)
  104. It seems this man had both power and speed! Yam hadn't even expected such strength to be shown from this man. Watching as he moved around quickly, flying about in the air just before finally coming near Yam and slaming his own spear down upon him whenever he could. Yam of course did whatever he could in order to fend for himself, but with even the new powers acqired it proved to be frutile against the speed this man was actually holding.
  105.
  106. Yam would suddenly fall from one of the final attacks coming from this man, probably even soon to be his ally, of course that was only a maybe. "And for a mortal you fight as if you're actually three of them..." Yam spoke as if he knew, though...he basically did. He fought four mortals in all today, so far he basically seemed to hold the strength to be able to defeat them all if he wanted to, impressive. Yam wasn't done yet, and could see that this man wans't either though.
  107.
  108. Instead of simply backing down, the croaking sound could be heard once agaiain as Yam began to stand back onto its feet. Now focusing on the man as it'd begin to bend once more. "Show me more of that mighty impressive strength you have though!" Yam would suddenly launch himself forward then. A possible final battle between the two to end their test. If anything, Yam was definetly going to be satisfied here.
  109. (Yam Vldai)
  110. Round two. . .. . FIGHT!
  111.
  112. Once again the two would launch at each other, clawing and swiping at each other with whatever the both of them considered weapons. It was an interesting feat as the two battled long and hard. Sparks flew as the spear had came across the yokais' tough skin and its claws. Other than that, the landscape was being destroyed by the two attacking the other. While previvously before Kilanjo was focused on his speed. He mostly focused himself on balancing his body out as he focused on boosting himself. Which did seem to work as he continued to bounce around as if he was in multiple places at once, Strike him with the blade of his spear. Not daring to give the yokai a chance to strike back.
  113.
  114. But even with all the speed that he held, he still was struck. More than about 10 times and it had bruisened him pretty bad as the battle would come to an end.
  115.
  116. Which would happen as Kilanjo felt like it was getting pretty late and he didn't feel like waiting out here in a desert to only freeze to death. He had never been in the desert at night. But he heard the rumors and it was getting pretty chilly. So Kilanjo woulc create an immeanse distance between the two before concentrating on his skill.
  117.
  118. Stabbing his spear into the ground, he held out both hands and concentrated hard on the area around Yam.
  119.
  120. Suddenly the wind around Yam had picked up and violently whiped around Yam as Kilajon held his eyes closed. Before long. A miniature tornado was suddenly formed around Yam, trapping him in. Then about a 3 minute period would go by before the Gig would finally hit the ground.
  121.
  122. Kilanjo would then walk over to watch the creature struggle for breath. To which He releases and even flows wind into her rejenvation system. It was only a matter of time but still. The vortex he created around Yam had sucked the oxygen from the being. Causing him to lose the battle. But surely if they kept at it, the yokai might have just won. SO thats why he had to end it in such a cheating way.
  123.
  124. "Huuh. . well you did get my interest yokai. Whats your name? I'm. . . uh. . . um . . . .. . Kilanjo."
  125. (Kilanjo)
  126. Any impressive man indeed. Going on to fighting against this man proved to show how much work Yam still needed along with how strong a ally he could actually be, if he had actually joined forces with Yam that was. Anyways, as their fight came to an end, and the yokai finally dropped after the miniature tornado finally allowed Yam some sort of control over its body. Of course it was only to slam into the ground, but whatever. Anyways, Yam soon after went on to leaning upwards, croaking now as it went on to listening to Kilanjo for a moment.
  127.
  128. "Hrm..." it thought about this. Telling its name, such was somewhat..strange, right? Had it earned to do so as of yet? Not really no...Maybe in due time though, right? Yes...For now, it'd only go by a 'title' if anything. "My name isn't important. Call me the brood of Vldai, toad, yokai, whatever. So long as you know whom your ally actually is, hm?" it went on to croaking some more then just before leaning forward.
  129.
  130. "You've interested me, as much as i'm sure i've interested you hm?" Yam was making an assumption there, oh well. "Now tell me, will our alliance be created here, or will you continue to be a mere wanderer of sorts?"
  131. (Yam Vldai)
  132. " Brood of Vldai? Alright. I'll just call you V then, and yes. That is absoultely true." Kilanjo said as he stabbed his spear into the grond and leaned on it.
  133.
  134. "An alliance can be created, but lets not make it too complex so we wouldn't have to be working together but looking behind the others backs all the time alright? This is how it goes, you help me and I'll help you. Its as easy as that. No tricks or schemes. Just something that is plain and simple alright?"
  135.
  136. With that, Kilanjo smiled as he would nod his head towards the creature.
  137.
  138. "Well, it's getting late, so I must be on my way as of now. Don't you go dying on me like the others."
  139.
  140. With that, Nerian would wait until the creature infront of him blinked. Which when time came due, he quickly focused his mana to course within his body. Pumping his entire body with his mana. Boosting his physical being multiple times over as he would quick step away, so he called it, but actually ran at an immeanse speed, causing him to physically leap from one place to another.
  141.
  142. All he could imagine was the wonder that would be left on Yam's eyes as he was standing infront of the yokai. To which one blink later. He would vanish. . . .
  143. (Kilanjo)
