  1. ** But President Trump will destroy the economy.**

  4.
  5. >We've hit more than **3% growth,** finally! The American economy is casting away its shackles! This is big news, I'll do my best to explain why.
  6.
  7. This image:
  8. >https://i.imgur.com/eC62Eck.png is the focus of this post.
  9.
  10. >Our real GDP is one of the ways we measure the strength of our economy, and our potential GDP is how much our actual GDP could be if every firm in the country were operating at its capacity. Usually our actual GDP doesn't waver too far from our potential, but if we take a really hard hit to the economy, it can. This difference between potential GDP and what our GDP actually is, this is called the output gap.
  11.
  12. >We had a bit of a drop in actual GDP after the World Trade Center was destroyed on 9/11, but after the 2008 recession, our actual GDP sank hard. During the Obama years, our economy just struggled to get any significant GDP growth back, which was frustratingly weird considering the American economy tends to bounce back just as hard after taking a hit (a fitting embodiment of the American spirit). Rather than surge in a comeback, our actual GDP limped sadly back towards, never reaching its potential to close the gap in Obama's whole 8 years.
  13.
  14. >On April 28, 2016, the US Bureau of Economic Analysis and the Congressional Budget Office released their predictions about how soon the gap could be closed if our GDP growth rate improved. Their prediction is in the image above.
  15. If we were to continue at around 2% like we had been under Obama, 2021 would have passed and we still wouldn't be near closing the gap. It would have been pathetic. Sad! If we were to hit 2.5%, which is ordinarily a mediocre number (but the standard of excitement over the economy during Obama was depressingly low anyway), then we would have finally closed the gap around May or June 2019.
  16.
  17. >A gloomy statement, 2.5% was considered optimistic. Then they predicted that if we hit the pie-in-the-sky number of 3% growth, the gap would have been closed by early 2018. That was the dream figure. And we hit 3% before the end of 2017! Our output gap is at less than -.8% and as we speak now is steadily closing.
  18. He's been in office less than a year and we've just blown away the expectations of the Bureau of Economic Analysis, and the Congressional Budget Office. There's actually no excuse why this couldn't have happened under Obama's 8 years. All he had to do with the economy was not sit on it. This is why we elected a businessman. People can laugh and mock the Make America Great Again slogan until the cows come home to Chappaqua, but this is real. Our economy is coming back.

  42.
  43.
  44. >Also, Raqqa is now in ruins. More than 4,450 airstrikes by the U.S.-led military coalition and others have left its streets a moonscape of shattered buildings and mountains of detritus. What was once a city of 200,000 is now all but deserted. Clouds of flies hover near collapsed buildings, a sign of the bodies crushed beneath. The Baghdad Gate, a brick relic from the 8th century, stands over the skeletons of slain ISIS fighters that lie in the open air, their flesh eaten away by dogs.
