Fate of the World Session 19

You poise yourself to fight your 'boss'. This has been a longtime coming, figment of this demented place or not. You take out your flame sword ready to fight with your allies standing alongside you.

"I've been waiting a long time for something like this." Renee said, her voice oozing venom as she took out her spear

Renee is mandatory for this battle

"You two are going to regret taking that tone with me!" Your 'boss' said in a demonic sounding voice.

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIT~!"

You were all thrown off by a female voice appearing out of thin air. Even your boss was confused and looking around, before out of thin air, a small portal appeared and out plopped a young girl.

"Heehee, Hiromu~!" She exclaimed hugging your chest "I'm gonna help too!"

"Uh...that's great and all, but could you let go Nyaruko...?"

"Nope! I got the lowdown from that funky guy in the mask and I wanted to wait and make my dramatic introduction!"

Well, this was certainly an introduction...of sorts.

"Er...Hiro, whose this?" Holly asks

"Long story, no time, we got a monster to slay!" You reply managing to push Nyaruko off of you

"Yeah we do! Come on, let's go!"

With that distraction aside, you call out Duran and Ryza to back you up. The five of you ready to deliver a beatdown the likes of which you'd only see in the movies.

"This is what you wish to fight me with? Children, and some knight? Very well...it is your funeral."

You attack the enemy slashing at it with your sword. The first strike does nothing to him unfortunately, but your second hit lands perfectly, cauterizing some of his flesh, and causing him to roar in pain.

"Take this!" Renee exclaimed as she brought her spear down beneath the monster's feet. Catching onto her, he was able to lift his foot at just the right moment to dodge it.

You have no idea what Nyaruko said, but you feel yourself become stronger! Your speed, your strength...all of it feels much more powerful than before.

Duran tries to attack the enemy as well, but like Renee, he unfortunately misses his attack. The enemy being far more agile than anticipated. And to make matters worse when Ryza tosses her bomb...nothing happens.

"D-dammit. It's a dud!" She growled dodging out of the way of a stray attack

"You pieces of shit! Thinking you can beat me! I'm The boss here and what I say GOES

>The enemy glares at you..."No magic will be used next time!"
>You feel as if something bad will happen if you don't follow the rules...

The monster lets out a loud roar, a purple aura engulfing its body briefly!

The monster swings its arm, filled with what appears to be sharp, jagged glass at Duran! getting in a solid hit on him!

You keep up your assault. Attacking the monster again, this time you manage to deal two solid hits to it, the first hits hard, while the second wasn't as strong, but still managed to pierce the enemy's hide.

Renee and Nyaruko went for attacks on him as well, but both failed, as he dodged them or they bounced off of his body, causing the two women to curse in unison.

"Take this!" Duran exclaimed slashing at the monster, creating an opening in its hide, which you could all exploit if given the chance.

>Enemy's defense decreased!

Trying to follow up off of him, Ryza attempts an attack on him as well, but misses as the monster moves its body to sidestep her.

"Dammit...he's way too fast for his size!" Renee snarls

>The enemy glares at you "None of that healing crap, you get me?!"

The monster proceeds to swing its tail at you! Getting a solid hit, he goes for another hit, but you manage to dodge it, before stumbling back.

You bounce back from the attack of the monster and hit right back. You're far too angry to let it beat you down like that. Either you go down, or it goes down, and  the first choice isn't an option! You lay into him with both attacks, with a stray shot of magic flying by and hitting him. You turn back to see Ryza smirking at the enemy.

Trait Activated:Follow Up

Renee went for yet another sweep of the monster's leg, and this time it worked! While it wasn't stunned, it did fall to the ground, hurting itself and leaving itself open to Duran who promptly stabbed it again, making another dent in its tough exterior.

Once again, you aren't sure what Nyaruko says, but you feel yourself become even stronger!

"Take this!" Ryza exclaims throwing a bomb at the creature. You watch as he begins to cough from the poisonous vapors

>Enemy is now suffering from poison, it will lose 1d8 HP per turn.

>The enemy glares at you "Those girls better not fucking move!"

The monster blasts you all with a bout of chilling cold!  All of  you save for Ryza get hit!

With the girls stuck doing nothing, you quickly take out some Ryza hotdogs and pass them to the others, everyone hungrily chomping down on them. Thankfully, this doesn't cause the monster to attack and he just...kinda looks confused? Can't blame him really. Once that's finished you and Duran attempt to attack him.

You both fail miserably...

Just hearing that makes you want to disobey him even more...

The monster swings its bladed arm at Nayruko!

"Get out of my sight!" The monster shouts while staring directly at Duran.

"W-whoa, wh-what the-?!" He exclaims as he's forced back into your COMP

"Oh goddammit!" You growl

You don't miss a bit and quickly summon Eve to join you in combat. You try to slash the monster, but your sword strike misses, causing you to stumble a bit.

"I've got you everyone. Hang in there!" Renee called out as she healed all of your wounds

"Thanks, now it's my tuuuuuurn~!" Nyaruko giggled as she pulled a pipe from...somewhere and proceeded to bludgeon the enemy directly on the head, a loud sickening crack echoing throughout the room as the monster screamed.

"H-here um...what's your name?" Ryza asked

"Nyaruko. Nya.ru.ko!" She replied "Or at least, that's a good enough name for humans to call me.

"F-fine, just eat the burger!" Ryza huffed tossing it to the small girl, she quickly downed it, smiling at the taste

>The boss glares at you "Think your hot shit?! Then come at you little assholes, hit me with your best shot!

The monster swings its arm at you, but misses, however, he brings it back, around and manages to hit Ryza!

He wants to get hurt? Then you're going to fucking hurt him then. You bring your sword down on him and exploit the weak spots Duran made for you, allowing you to really deal some damage to him.

"I'll fry you to a crisp!" Renee shouts calling forth lightning and striking the monster

"Hehe, My turn!"  Nyaruko exclaims following up with that pipe (That you again, cannot fathom where she keeps it) and slams it over the monster's head. This time, even harder than before!

To add insult to injury Eve summons a giant robotic fist to slam into the creature from above before it quickly disappears again...all while she continues sitting on a chair she conjured up.

Things look to be going good...until Ryza attempts to throw a bomb at the enemy. In a surprising display, the monster slaps it back at her and the bomb goes off not only hitting Ryza with ice, but completely freezing her!

"Shit! Ryza, are you okay?!"

"......."

"Oh, right...frozen...yeah..."

>The enemy glares at you. "No physical attacks! You understand that?

The enemy this time breathes fire at all of you! You and Nyaruko manage to dodge out of the way, but everyone else, Especially Eve and Ryza are not as lucky. However, he gets you with a swing of his tail just as you think you're safe!

So he wants magic? You'll give him magic! You fire off two summon stars, hitting the monster square in the chest. It doesn't hit as hard as your sword strikes,but it still hurts him all the same.

"I-I've got us, don't worry!" Renee Pants, recovering from the last attack.

"L̶͗͠e̸͑̈́t̸̮̍ ̴̽̏i̸͒̇n̴̿̉s̸͌̔å̶͒n̸͑͆ǐ̸̛t̶̓̐y̸̅̈́ ̵̐͝t̴́͘a̶̛̓k̷̭͠e̶̎̍ ̶̽̃y̵̕͠o̶̅͋u̴͑̊"

Once again, no idea what Nyaruko is saying, but you once more feel stronger!

"I suppose I can eat this...'food'." Eve mutters taking out one of the burgers and taking a bite "My, this is actually...quite good! Amazing even...!" she quickly downs the entire thing, letting out a little burp "Pardon."

The enemy swings its arms towards Nyaruko, but she easily dodges both attacks! Blowing raspberries at him all the while. "Too slow moron!"

You've had enough of this! You don't know if it'll end him or not, but you take out your gun and begin charging up to attack.

"Lightning!" Renee shouted as a powerful bolt struck the enemy. So strong was it, the enemy became stock still, unable to move at all..

"Heaven's Fist!" Eve called out again, causing a fist to crash into the monster, due to it being unable to move, it couldn't even begin to dodge.

You take aim at the enemy, which isn't hard to do as he isn't able to move and open fire, the power your charged up expelling into a powerful blast that hits the monster dead on.

Renee once again shocked the ever-living hell out of the monster, an almost...manic grin on her face, it was unsettling to say the least, but there was no doubt that she was enjoying hurting this thing in no small degree.

Saying something....unrecognizable, Nyaruko sends out a powerful blast of magic at the enemy, smirking to herself all the while as it screams in pain again.

With a wave of her hand, Eve sends her small robot drones to attack the monster, they...actually hit it surprisingly hard, as Eve continues sitting on her makeshift throne.

Finally, Ryza thaws out, shivering all the while. "Man...t-t-t-that sucks!"  She groans "I-I-I g-g-g-gotta be more c-careful...!"

The monster swings its arms at Eve, however, she casually moves herself to the side avoiding it while giving a faux yawn.

Once again, you take aim with your gun, charging it for the next attack.

Renee, feeling lucky, goes for another lightning attack, but misses it unfortunately, the boss, managing to move out of the way.

>Limit reached. Only Eve's stats increased!

Eve once again calls down that giant fist, crashing it into the enemy and giving another bored yawn as if she really doesn't want to be here.
Finally, Ryza thaws out, shivering all the while. "Man...t-t-t-that sucks!"  She groans "I-I-I g-g-g-gotta be more c-careful...!"

The monster swings its arms at Eve, however, she casually moves herself to the side avoiding it while giving a faux yawn.

"Come on, no duds, no knocking back, no exploding on me!" Ryza murmured as she tossed the bomb...and this time everything went right!

"Yes, finally!" She exclaimed happily

>The enemy glares at you "Tch, tenacious little shits. My order for you is die. Die, goddammit!"

The creature swings its arm at Eve, she dodges the first easily, but the second manages to blindside and hit her HARD.

You open fire on the enemy and blast it just like before. While it doesn't kill it, the follow up attack  from Renee firing more lightning at it is enough to cook the thing alive. And you watch as your 'boss' slowly withers away.

"No...This isn't possible! I'm the boss...I'm the boss! I'm in charge......!!!"

You watch as he explodes into a shower of shadow before the room goes silent.

"We did it!" Renee said clenching her fist in

"Yeah we did..." You say "But...this area is still all weird looking, Looks like we're still going to have to do some looking around.

"Well that's no worry! Not with me here~!" Nyaruko giggled sliding up to you "It's okay my honey, I'll make sure to keep you niiiice and safe~"

"Alright, time to loot the place." You say casually

"Really...?" Holly asked giving you a sideways glance

"After all the shit this guy put us through here *and* in the real world? I'd say he's earned it."

With a shrug, the others help you ransack the room and you find...

Absolutely nothing of value. There isn't even a safe of some kind here! Well, whatever, despite your disappointment, you *do* take his mug from off of his desk. It simply reads '#1 Man', which makes you scoff.

"Number 1 my ass." You grumble

"You think he'd have had something cool here..." Holly muttered "Oh well, where are we going now?"

"Come on, back to the pillar." You say leaving the office behind

Heading back to your work area, the pillar is still there, though the glow it emits is noticably dimmer than before. Your best guess is that killing your boss (Boy that feels good to think) is what caused this.

"Still no real clue on what to do..." You sighed

"Well..." Renee said rubbing her chin "This thing is coming out of the floor right? I mean, it at least looks that way, so mayb we have to head down?"

"Does this place even *have* a basement?"

"I think so? I mean, what office doesn't?"

"Well, in all my time working here, I've never seen one at all."

"There's gotta be an entrance somewhere...!

"Or...we can just destroy it?" Holly said meekly "I mean, I'm sure we can get out of here before the building comes down.

"Well...*that's* an idea." Renee said "What's the plan Hiro?"

"Well, let's find this basement." You sigh, it actually doesn't take too long, through your looking you find out that the entrance to the basement is right next to the bathroom. In your entire time being here, you never realized it was right there, mostly because you were more concerned with answering the call of nature to really care what the door was. Didn't help that wasn't marked at all as well.

Opening the door,  you and your allies are greeted by a sickeningly red light that practically blinds you, managing to overcome it and heading downwards, you come across what is basically the 'Root' of the pillar smack dab in the middle of the basement. you aren't even sure how it got to the other area, you're definitely not under it...or at least you think so anyway.

"Alright! So...should we destroy it from here?" Renee said "Ya know, cutting off the roots so to speak?

"I have no idea..." You reply "Wouldn't that be the same as destroying it from the top? Only difference is we'd be underground and probably in more danger than if we were above."

"Tch, true...this is irritating."

"Any ideas Holly?" You ask

"Not really, aside from destroying it slowly..."

"Slowly?"

"Yeah, like...we set it on fire or something and let it slowly die. We get out fine and the whole place eventually ends up in flames!"

"That could work..."

"Screw it." You say throwing up your hands "Let's just hack the roots off."

"Alright, you heard him Holly!"

You all take out your weapons, with You and Renee attempting to slash at the roots. Holly for her part bashes the roots making them easier for you to cut up. As this happens, you feel the  building rumble, shake, and moan, parts of the building are falling apart as you do so. It's odd, but you persist in attacking it, until you hear a loud thud from behind you.

Turning around you see a...what in the hell?

A monster with...mouth arms? You don't know what to call it, but it's big and covered in a thick hide all over its body, with a mouth on its stomach as well.

"Oh what the fuck is this now?!" You say looking at the monster as its arms roar at you.

"W-w-we've done enough damage! should we leave Hiro?" Holly asked

"Come on, let's take care of this thing. If we don't it'll probably just follow us around anyway."

"O-okay!" Holly said readying her bat, While Renee did the same with her Spear

The monster lets out a murderous roar that comes from all 3 of its mouths as it begins to bear down upon you

"Alright everyone, it's kill or be killed!"

"Oh! I love that game!" Holly exclaimed "I-I actually have a copy and we could-"

"Holly, not now!" Renee called out

"O-oh um, sorry!"

You and Holly take a step towards the front line. You call out Aeda, Renee sends out Rajaki and Holly calls forth Maple into Battle. You all get ready to do battle, as the monster roars, you notice that as a result its body hardens just a bit.

"Tch, already not giving us much of a chance to hit it first." Rajaki snarls

Alright, time to kill this thing! You do what you know best and slash at its body...only for the damage from your sword to not do anything at all. You try again...and still nothing! the flames being sucked in by it's right arm...mouth...thing.

"D-dammit!" You growl

"Here you go everyone! We won't lose! Holly said as she raised her bat in the air before covering you all in a multicolored aura

"Gimme a moment,I'm gonna need a drink for this one!" Rajaki laughs as she downs some alcohol from her gourd

>Rajaki's next attack will deal extra damage!

"Activating Earth Code." Aeda states calmly, causing a small spire of rock to jut up from the ground and attack the monster, unlike your attack, this actually visibly hurt it quite a bit.

Arm Crusher's Weakness found!

Maple slams her shield on the ground, raising her defense even higher!

The monster attacks, shooting fire from its right arm towards Rajaki! While it hits, thanks to Holly, the small Oni girl is able to tank the hit!

The monster's left arm fires chilling ice at Maple who really shrugs it off, not even looking perturbed by the attack

Finally the monster swings its arm...mouths at you normally, but you manage to dodge it easily! The attack being far too slow to hit you.

Okay, so your sword won't work. Time to bring out your big(Okay it's actually pretty small) gun! You take aim at the monster and open fire, not missing a single shot! The beast's hide is super thick though, and you can tell that its not too botherd by the shots.

Rajaki learns this when attempting to attack, but her axe just boucnes off, almost as if it hit solid steel.

"Here's more!" Holly shouted as she continued raising your defenses

"Enemy weakness pinpointed. Earth Code activating." Aeda said mimicking her action from before

What happens next surprises you as Maple attempts to take a bite out of the monster, but unfortunately fails.

"O-ouch! That hide really is tough!" Maple mutters rubbing her cheek "I'm kinda jealous actually..."

The monster lets out a roar, becoming cloaked in that same aura as before, and you notice its hide get noticably thicker...

The left arm fires at Aeda, but she easily floats out of the way!

The right arm spits fire at Rajaki, who also manages to sidestep the attack as well

Okay, magic will work right? That's totally gotta work! You fire away, but unfortunately, both of your attacks don't really do anything at all...

Rajaki decides to take another swig of her drink, preparing for her next attack

Holly, continues raising your defenses as best as she can

"Mimicking enemy enhancements." Aeda states as a blue light scans over the enemy. "Scanning complete..."

Once again, Maple goes to take a bite out of the enemy, Holly tries to call out to her, but you're all slack jawed when Maple manages to *tear a piece off and gobble it down.

"Huh...this actually tastes kinda good! Maybe a bit of salt though...

The monster's left arm breathes out flames at your party! You and maple aren't able to dodge, but thanks to Holly, you're able to tank the hits decently enough.

The right arm breathes out chilling ice at all of you! Thankfully, you all manage to dodge it...except for Maple, she just fucking tanks it and doesn't seem any worse for wear.

Lastly, the monster brings both its arms down on Aeda! They all but crush her, and after he brings them up, Aeda is quickly back on her feet.

"Minimal damage taken. Systems still operational and bio-organic components functioning."

You take some more shots with your gun, but still, your shots just...bounce off. Goddammit, you're beginning to suspect that your gun just won't do the trick against such a naturally (for the most part) thick hide.

To make up for this, Rajaki goes all in, slashing away at the beast with her axe.

Holly follows suit, hitting the exact same spot with her bat, and you swear you hear a crunch from the monster's body

Aeda once more calls out a spire of earth to harm the beast, which gives Maple another chance to take a bite out of it...which she does...again. It's still not any less surprising than the first time.

"So tasty~!" Maple squeals

The Arm Crusher shoots a fireball directly at Holly, she dukes out of the way, dodging it with ease. However, it quickly takes a nother shot with its other arm, firing a chunk of ice at her and this time hitting her on the rebound. She's able to shrug it off though and get back to get back to her feet.

The last hit is aimed at Rajaki, but the little Oni manages to sidestep it with ease, as the attack comes too slow towards her.

"Here Rajaki! Hit em hard!" You exclaim casting some magic on her. She's briefly covered in a red aura, before you take aim and fire off another round of shots. It mostly plinks off again, but you notice some small agitation from the monster, so you're assuming it worked to some degree.

Rajaki laughs, feeling the power boost from you and downing some more of her drink "That's the plan Hiro, Oh I can't wait for this!" she cackles

Holly continues bashing the body of the monster, easily breaking through its hide, though it doesn't seem to hit as badly as she did before.

Aeda continues with the earth magic, earning her another growl of pain from the enemy

Maple once again takes a bite out of the monster. You...really aren't sure how she's pulling that off so consistently now, but at least she's helping?

The beast lets out another roar and you can see its hide getting even thicker than it was already.

It's time to rely on your gun once again. Unfortunately, it just isn't enough, and the bullets just bounce right off of the enemy's body.

"Alright, now it's time!" Rajaki shouts transforming into her demon form. The small girl grows huge and begins hammering away at the enemy with a flurry of punches. As soon as she's done, she instantly returns to her child like state.

"Aaaaah, that was fun!"

Holly once again slams her bat into the thing, hitting it as hard as she can, though with little result

"Gah, i-it's way too tough!" Holly groans

Aeda uses more earth based attacks against it, but even still, it's not enough to do any serious damage.

Maple once again ends up taking a bite out of the creature...and this time it's even bigger than before as the small girl gulps down a large piece of its hide.

The monster raises both hands and slams them down on you! If it weren't for Holly, you're pretty sure you'd have been crushed into paste.

The monster's left arm attempts to shoot fire towards Aeda, but she easily dodges it!

The right arm fires an ice chunk at Rajaki who tanks the attack head on, not looking too worse for wear after.

"Sure!" Renee replies, as she recalls the oni girl and you bring in Y'shtola.

"Here, eat this!" You call tossing the burger to her. She doesn't even bother questioning and quickly tears into it.

Aeda fires off more Earth attacks, but this one only manages to hit slightly harder than before

"Hang on everyone! I'll keep us all safe!" Maple calls out as she slams her shield on the ground again and this time, several small shields appear in front of you all, protecting you from harm.

The monster's left arm shoots fire towards you, but you easily dodge it. Unfortunately, Aeda takes a hit from its following attack. Only for her defenses to be so high, it literally bounces right off of her. And thanks to Maple, when it goes for a physical attack, the shields protect you all from suffering any damage whatsoever.

You throw another burger to Y'shtola and eat one yourself. As soon as she's done, Y'shtola quickly casts healing magic on you all.

Holly once again raises your defenses

"Commencing attack." Aeda states calmly before hitting the monster with more Earth...you aren't even sure if it's magic actually...but she hits hit hard, it's thick body quivering in pain from the hit.

Maple again does the same action as before, calling forth the shields to keep you all safe.

You dodge the fireball from the left arm with ease, however, the right arm opens fire at Holly and hits her dead on, knocking her back a bit.

"You okay Holly?" You call to her

"I-I'm fine! I'm okay!" she replies getting back to her feet.

You're running out of ideas. Your gun won't work. It absorbs your sword strikes...you guess you'll have to rely on magic. You fish out those drinks Ryza made and quickly down two of them, feeling some of your magic reserves return to you.

Y'shtola fires off earth magic at the monster, hitting it's weakness,but unfortunately the monster doesn't seem nearly as bothered by it as when Aeda used her attack.

"Tch, how troubling." Y'shtola muttered "I'll have to put a bit more power into it I suppose."

Holly once again raises Y'shtola's defense, earning her thanks from the scion. While Aeda proceeded to once again, deliver another devastating blow to the enemy.

"Stay behind Me Y'shtola. You'll be safe that way." Maple said interposing herself between the enemy and Y'shtola

The monster fires off more fireballs and ice chunks, this time directed at Aeda! While both attacks hit her, the defenses in place, keep Aeda from taking any real damage and she quickly shrugs the attack off. When it tries to hit Y'shtola with both of its arms, Maple deftly blocks it and knocks it away with her shield.

Turns out that didn't work at all...

Y'shtola goes for another shot with her magic and this time she really does put that extra kick in it as this time the enemy visibly lurches in back in pain from the attack.

"Tch, how troubling." Y'shtola muttered "I'll have to put a bit more power into it I suppose."

Holly finishes topping Y'shtola off with her defenses.

Aeda once again does what she does best, making another earth spire appear and hit the enemy

The monster breathes out more fire from its left arm. Everyone manages to either tank it or dodge, except for you, as you take a direct hit! It then does the same, except with the chilling ice breathe from its right arm, this time managing to hit Holly and Aeda, Aeda in particular gets hit pretty hard.

Lastly it attempts to slam its hands down on Y'shtola, but Maple is able to block it, and keep her safe.

Alright...there's only one thing you can think of. You take out your gun and begin charging it up.

Y'shtola once again uses more of her earth magic, which sadly is to no avail against the monster. The same goes for Holly and Aeda, as both of their attacks, bounce off of the creature as well.

In return the creature takes aim at Aeda with one of its fireballs and manages to hit her, however her defenses help her shrug off the attack completely. It's other attacks fail as well, with the others dodging it with ease, while you continue charging.

Letting out the stored up energy, you fire at the monster and this time you strike true! it lurches back, roaring in pain at the attack, a small burning hole present where you hit it.

Y'shtola follows your lead and attacks it as well, with Holly following up afterwards and hitting it with her bat.

Aeda then fires off more of her earth attacks, following up on the chance provided to her.

The Arm Crusher flubs its arm smash as well as its fireball, but the ice chunk manages to hit you! Thankfully, due to the defenses you have, you're able to shrug the attack off without any trouble.

Aeda ignores all this, and continues attacking the enemy, dealing another solid blow to it.

The Arm Crusher seeing the new addition to the fight, quickly opens fire on Dante...literally. Dealing heavy damage to him. It then swings its arms at Aeda, managing to crush her again. She gets back up, though you notice some electricity crackling around her body.

"Moderate damage sustained. Systems still operational. Hiro...I'll keep fighting..."

You quickly cast your magic on Dante, amplifying his attack before you take another drink of tea. Feeling your magic come back to you

Dante attempts to stab the monster, but it actually manages to dodge out of  the way, causing Dante to stumble

All the while, Y'shtola fires off more magic at it to no effect

"H-here you go Dante, have some more!" Holly calls out raising his defenses after finishing with her hair.

Aeda also continues throwing earth at the thing, managing to at least scratch it.


The monster proceeds to return fire to Aeda, hitting her with both shots from each arm. The first one does some damage, but the second is completely nullified. It also tries slamming her into the ground again, but doesn't land the hit.

Holly raises Dante's defenses again!

Aeda continues using her earth magic to deal what little damage she can to the enemy. It roars in pain, and while it's definitely looking beat up in some spots, and you can only hope that this ends soon enough.

The monster aims all its attacks at you! The fireball manages to get through your defenses, the ice chunk is nulled thankfullly, but the double slam from his fists knocks you into the ground.

"Guuuuuh." You groan as you struggle back to your feet. You're okay for the most part, but that still hurt like hell.

You buff up Dante some more, before taking out a bottle of medicine and downing it. It doesn't taste too good, but you can feel some of your wounds close up.

Aeda goes for another attack, but something goes wrong! "System malfunction! Attempting to repair problem...!" Aeda says as her body crackles with electricity

The enemy's fireball and ice chunks miss their targets, but he then slams his arms down on Holly, the college girl becoming crushed before getting back to her feet and dusting herself off.

Okay, you gotta get in there! You drop your flameblade and pull out that Claymore, going to swing it...and being taken off guard by the heaviness of it, you mess up and are greeted by getting punched in the face by the monster.

Dante sees the opening and takes advantage, managing to get a shot in on the monster

The others try attacking as well, but their attacks bounce off or have little to no effect at all.

"S-self repair complete!" Aeda calls out to you

The enemy attempts attacking you again, but you manage to dodge its physical and fire attacks, with the Ice attack just not bothering you, and you are silently thanking Holly for having cast this magic on you.

"Hiro, lets go!" Holly calls out

"Right behind you!"

The two of you move in unison, attacking the monster at the same time, it's a flurry of bat swings and claymore attacks as your repeated attacks manage to break through the thick hide and all but pulverize the part that you'd focused on.

Dante once again stabs at the monster and gets a powerful hit in, dealing serious damage to it, on the exact spot where you and Holly hit it.

Unfortunately Y'shtola's attack doesn't bother it and Aeda, still suffering from whatever error she encountered making her miss her attack.

Seeing that Aeda is having problems, the monster unleashes a fireball at her! It's a solid hit and actually deals notable damage to Aeda. She's visibly panting, and crackling with even more electricity than before.

"JUST FUCKING DIE ALREADY!" Holly roars as she signals you for another attack, you don't say anything and just join her, surprised at the amount of boom she has in her voice.

The two of you move in tandem again, hitting the monster as hard as you can with each strike, before finally stopping.

Trait Activated: Berserker Fuse!

Once finished you bring down the claymore over top the enemy's head, and you manage to decapitate it, killing it outright finally. As the monster's neck bleeds out and it withers away, you all let out a collective sigh.

"It's finally over..." Y'shtola groans

"Yeah...that thing was like trying to cut through a tank."

"Destroy the root, hurry up!" You say swinging your claymore at the thing. The others join you in shooting, burning and bashing it as the building quivers with each attack. You notice that it's far easier to destroy, and you surmise that it has to do with you killing that monster. With a final swing, you completely destroy the roots and the building once more shakes extremely violently. This time debris falling from the  ceiling.

"It's coming down! We've gotta run!" Renee shouted over the wreckage

"Everyone out!" Dante said heading back towards the stairs. You all follow behind, with Dante, slashing some debris out of the way as you run, leading the charge until you're outside. You just barely make it out before looking back to see the red aura of the building collapse in on itself, leaving the building with its usual somewhat rundown look.

"W-what the hell *was* all that?" Renee asked

"I have no idea, and I need a friggin' drink."

"Same here..."

"Me too..." Holly sighed

You and Renee stare at Holly for a moment with raised eyebrows

"...What?" Holly asks

"You...drink? you ask

"No, but I think now is as good a time as any to start." Holly replied

"Yeah, that's my job!" Renee declares with a smug grin

"That doesn't mean you can!" You seethe

The bickering continues on until you all get back to your house where you casually crack open a cold one while tossing a can to Holly and Renee. As you all begin to drink, you Renee speaks up

"Hey I just remembered something..."

"What's that?" You ask

"Holly, how old are you again?" Renee asks

"20, and no I don't think anyone will care as long as I don't stumble home drunk and if I brush my teeth." She huffs

Before you can continue on that subject, several of your summons(The ones you fought with at least) all appear and quickly help themselves, even Eve is quick to take one.

"H-hey, what the hell?!" You growl

"It's been a long day of nearly dying. I think we're owed this much Hiro." Ace cackles "Sides, we'll just pick up some more later on yeah?"

"I...but...that's...it...!"

"Now that's what I'm talking about!" Renee exclaims as she takes two beers and downs them in their entirety at the same time. The others all get to drinking as much as they can as you sit there with sour look on your face, drinking as much as you can to dull the pain that your wallet is going to feel when you have to run out and by more replacement drinks.

You pass out somewhere after the 9th or 10th drink and when you come two, you can feel Renee carting you up towards the bedroom. You can tell by the way she's stumbling that she's not all that sober herself as the two of you stumble to get up the stairs. As you both come to your room you fall on the bed, barely able to keep yourself awake from the sudden movement.

"don't movqe me too fsa,t i'mma get dizzy" you slur out, all the while Renee continues staring at you

"hoey hiro,cdid you mean that xearlir..e.that i deserve better?" Renee splutters out "J-just...jus wanna know  that's all"

You're kinda tipsy but you *think* you got the message

"hell yeah, jyou deserve beftter than...than whatever that place was. w-we're ganon make you famous...!"

"fuck that's hzot...y-yer prteyt hot. i'mma...im'mma suck your dick right queick" Renee blubbers out before promptly falling out on the floor, you try to get up, but the sudden speed at which you do causes you to topple back over and pass out entirely.
