  1. WARNING: THIS REVIEW IS BIASED AND COULD CONTAIN SPOILERS. TAKE IT WITH THE GRAIN OF SALT.

  4. Space Patrol Luluco is one of the shows that somehow never fail to make me smile. It is incredibly energetic and goofy, but at the same time charming.

  6. While story is fairly simple considering how short it is, it is so off the rails that it becomes so enjoyable. There are some twists that might not be expected when watching it. However, it's nothing groundbreaking that will forever change the anime industry. It's just a simple show after all. Another thing it is that it's short, with each episode lasting only 7 minutes and that's counting opening and ending. While this can make the show easier to watch in a way (less amount of time spent), it also hinders the story a bit by making it very fast paced.

  8. The art style is incredibly appealing with vibrant colors adding up to the already great character designs. Animation is a bit of a mixed bag, since sometimes it feels like entire episodes are animated like Kill La Kill episode 4 but then once the things in the show get real, animation suddenly becomes fluid and fast, just like in previous Imaishi projects (something like battle scenes, which the studio excels at). However, since the limited animation is used for the exaggeration and comedic effect, it can get a pass if you want.

  10. Characters are also incredibly fun to watch, with Over Justice being the best girl. Luluco is also pretty cute too, with her "ordinary" nature conflicting with the insanity of the universe and her trying to win over Alpha Omega Nova. Some characters might appear as a surprise too. However, due the shortness and nature of the series, the characters couldn't get really developed that much.

  12. While the opening is eccentric and fun, it's the ending that is outstanding. It is calm and relaxing compared to the feel of the actual show. The contrast between real life backgrounds and paper cut outs of Luluco and Nova really make it look very aesthetically pleasing. Probably one of my favorite EDs in 2016 and maybe even to this day.

  14. However, the enjoyment of this show depends on how much you even like TRIGGER as a whole, since it is a love letter to the studio that gave it life. If you don't like TRIGGER, then yeah there's a chance you won't enjoy this show at all, which kinda works against it's favor. Fans of TRIGGER (such as myself) would probably get some enjoyment out of it.

  16. In conclusion, I really love this show. I know it's not a masterpiece at all but the sheer joy it provided me makes it one of my favorites. If you like goofy and crazy stuff, then I recommend this show to you.
