- The A-Rank requirement for PAL is 150,000,000 G, which is extremely tight, as you can imagine.
- My route is generally grab everything that's not out-of-the-way for the time being, and my route also requires an RNG mouse in case I drop Large Pearls (if I drop 3, run's usually dead unless I get really luck with furniture money or an extra mouse)
- Because of the potential in lost large pearls or silver gems via RNG, I want to carry a reasonable safety net, so my typical money goal is 152,500,000. This lets me drop 2 large pearls or lose one RNG mouse plus some medium pearls/cash)
- Gems/Pearls Grabbed (by Default)
- Sapphires: 2 ( 1,000,000) [2 backups]
- Emeralds: 2 ( 1,600,000) [0 backups]
- Rubies: 5 ( 5,000,000) [All of them]
- Silver Gems: 25 (50,000,000) [Assumes I get one RNG mouse, miss the other 2, and skip the 3 blackout speedy spirits]
- Red Gems: 1 ( 5,000) [Nice meme]
- Gold Gems: 2 (40,000,000) [All of them]
- Small Pearls: 72 ( 3,600,000) [Skips 4 of them, try not to skip too many]
- Medium Pearls: 75 ( 7,500,000) [Skips 1, I'll try to skip none of them]
- Large Pearls: 19 (19,000,000) [Hopefully all of them]
- +____________
- Total in Gems/Peals: 127,705,000
- Remaining Required: 22,295,000
- Safety Net: 2,500,000
- Money Wanted: 24,795,000
- Coins are worth 5,000 G, Bills are worth 20,000 G, and Bars are worth 100,000 G. Since Bills are nearly as plentiful as Coins, they are the most valuable of the 3. The remaining amount of money is worth 1,239.75 bills.
- My route generally wants to collect:
- 40-45 Gold Bars (4M - 4.5M)
- 500-600 Coins (2.5M - 3M) (This is extremely dependent on how much damage I take in the run, I've had coin counts as low as 478)
- On best-case scenario, I'll be left with 17,295,000 G or at least 865 bills
- On worst-case scenario, I'll be left with 18,295,000 G or at least 915 bills.
- Getting 900 bills in a run is usually unreasonable unless I have God-RNG, so I have 2 backup sapphires, each worth 500,000 G, or 25 bills.
- Generally, getting an extra RNG mouse means that A-Rank is free using this route, and the backup gems mean I can work with low money if I had good RNG and didn't drop too many pearls.
- So this looks like a LOT, but fixed money items such as gems are generally not on my mind when doing a run. I'm generally keeping track of how many large pearls I drop, how many small/medium pearls I skip, and my "pocket change." If I miss a gem on my fixed route, that's my fault and my run deserves to not be valid (which I've done before, if you look at my splits). If anything, I'll use excel to do a quick check of my money, and you can do that as well as long as you know the worth of everything.
