  76. RESULTS = (When logs turned to boards & 3 bins + 2 masts + 3 chests) 15 slots (!!!!!)
  77. -------
  78. If minimal functional boat (3 tin fishin' bins + 3 chests + 2 masts) is desired, one can use 15 slots in their inventory (before prototyping, which WILL reduce slots by at least 2 - 5) while gathering 66 grass, 12 twigs, 116 logs (which are converted to 29 boards, saving 3 inventory spaces), 46 rocks, 26 silk, 18 gold, 8 charcoal, 8 cut reeds, 2 seeds, 1 gear, and 1 bird. This is in addition to any top hats / food (from koalephants) & extra light sources required. If unable to prototype, one will probably require a backpack. Add more slots for seasons other than autumn & other amenities such as sewing kits, etc.
  79.
  80. Likely, one will need to gather an additional 12 + 8 + 1 Silk for 2 top hats, 1 sewing kit, and 1 boomerang. It must also be noted that an additional stack of grass would be necessary over time for torches and crafting spears, and flint will be necessary for the tools required to gather things. Twigs will be used by tools, as well, and logs will be needed for armor / campfires. Depending on the season, be it winter or spring, one will likely need gear for that season. A spacious amount of extra logs / turf will be necessary to fuel a seabound voyage, as well. It's also recommended to bring a full stack of monster meat and big meat, and, preferably, a full stack of ice, at minimum, for sustaining one's self until shoals of deep bass are located. One will want to bring at least 3 extra tentacle spikes to ensure protection. If no base exists, and playing defensively, one may need to deploy a tackle receptacle, think tank, and science machine and alchemy engine PRIOR to going to sea. Tackle receptacles will need at least 3-4 beefalo wool, up to 10+ flint, and 5+ mushrooms of preferred flavor to catch most fish. Hardened rubber bungs / wooden bobbers are preferred, as well. Driftwood will be needed to create the tackle receptacle, as well as any driftwood to prototype the oars. One will also want to look out for at least 2 stingers to make some boat patches, which drive the cost up by +1 board (4 logs) per (5 is a comfortable amount, 3 is minimum). If all sea recipes are prototyped, one could feasibly replace the think tank with a shadow manipulator, driving the cost up by 4 boards, 4 bunnies, and a tophat (if no presti available), and then 3 living logs, 7 nightmare fuel, and 1 purple gem.
  81.
  82. Unfortunately, summer presents it's own issues. There were thoughts that with an illuminated mast attachment, one could feasibly combine a normal and summer build, using an endothermic firepit and using the mast for warmth, but alas, the mast light is campfire tier (2x less efficient) and does not generate heat. Therefore, it is my humble opinion that the best methods for dealing with this are either to create a separate, second boat for summer (extremely resource intensive, not viable), or attempt to tough it out without an endothermic fire pit. Keep in mind, if one has not caught Ice Breams during the winter, staying on the boat during summer is NOT advised. One must catch at least 3-5 Ice Breams for this to be viable, and should keep at least 3-5 water balloons or a luxury fan on hand to catch fires one doesn't put out by hand. Other possible alternatives include using ice put in the ice box for a cube, using an umbrella + chilled amulet + luxury fan, or using two thermal stones and an ice chester.
  83.
  84. In short, this is a difficult and advanced undertaking for even strong players in a public game setting, requiring a vast amount of time for something that could easily disappear overnight. The safest bet is to make the basic structure, place a few chests on it, and then sail it out to sea, then anchor it in a chosen spot and come back to land with another boat, using that boat as a dock or ferry with an oar. Unfortunately, to properly execute this without having to waste time chopping another 16 or so wood, one would need an anchor on the ferry, so this method likely requires another 32 logs.
  85.
  86. Your ideal time table for completion in even the worst settings is approximately a short season length, or 15 days. This translates into exactly 2 hours.
  87.
  88. Good luck, sailors.
