2D MarioThon

What is a "2D MarioThon"?

I'm playing all the 2D Mario games I can!  The criteria I'm using for qualifying and playing games are:
* Had an official US release.  (So no Lost Levels.)
* Can be considered a "main-line" game.  (So no Mario's Time Machine or the like.)
* Game primarily features Mario.  (So no Yoshi's Island or Mario is Missing, and even if I could, no Super Luigi U.)
* Game exclusively features 2D play.  (So we're NOT playing any 3D Mario games, such as 64, Sunshine, or Galaxy.)
* I must be able to play it some way - either via emulator or through a real console - such that I can broadcast it on my channel.
* Games will be played in release order.

Thus, using the above criteria, at present, I can play 9 of the 10 qualifying titles:

Games NOT In the Marathon

At this time, the following games that otherwise DO qualify sadly *cannot* be part of this marathon, for the reasons listed, but would otherwise be welcome additions if I became enabled to play them, and would appear at the tail-end of the marathon as appropriate for their release dates:
