  8.
  9. 1. Nice to meet you!
  10.
  11. What is your name, age and e-mail address? We won't share this information with anyone, so please tell the truth. Additionally, if you do not have one yet, use this section to tell us what username you'd like on the wiki. We'll use that and your email address to make an account.
  12.
  13. Definately Joronn Hanevold, age 19, email yookee13@gmail.com, desired username: elgeonmb
  14.
  15. 2. Haven't we seen you before?
  16. Please state some of the characters you've played at other games, if any. If you're currently playing any characters here, or dropping any, list them here as well. Remember, you're allowed a maximum of four Feature Characters at any time.
  17.
  18. I was Akemi Ohashi on Persona MUSH and have been Robot Guest here on BF intermittently for multiple years at this point.
  19.
  20. 3. But what's your secret identity?
  21. If you're applying for a character who already has a +finger, just state their name here. Otherwise, or if you want to write your own +finger, please fill out the following information:
  22.
  23. Name: Your character's "civilian" name. On BF, we use the Western order of 'given name' 'surname', so it's Usagi Tsukino, not Tsukino Usagi.
  24.
  25. Takara Maki
  26.
  27. Also Known As: If your character has a powered alias -- Sailor Moon, Wedding Peach, etc -- state it here. You can also use an alternate title (i.e. Rose Bride) or even something just for fun.
  28.
  29. Jade Rose Duelist
  30.
  31. Gender: Male, Female, Plural or Neuter.
  32.
  33. Plural
  34.
  35. Source: State the name of your character's source theme here. Original characters should either list a theme they are related to or the name of their original theme. If it is an original theme, make sure to describe it in section 8.
  36.
  37. Revolutionary Girl Utena
  38.
  39. Type: Is your character a Feature Character or an Original Character?
  40.
  41. OC
  42.
  43. Organization: If you're apping a character into an Organization, state it here. If not, state Unaffiliated.
  44.
  45. Ends Of The World
  46.
  47. School: Juuban Public School, Infinity Institute, or Ohtori Academy. If your character doesn't attend (or work at a) school, say "None."
  48.
  49. Ohtori Academy
  50.
  51. Grade: Your character's grade in school. If your character doesn't attend school, say "None." If your character works at a school as a teacher or staff member, say "S." If they're a university student, say "U." (For an age-to-grade guide, please see: Japanese Grades. The elementary/junior high/high school breakdown, in American terms, is K-6, 7-9, and 10-12. BF is starting in the second half of a school year, so barring exceptional birthdays, 14-year-olds are usually in what would be American 8th grade, equivalent to the 2nd year of junior high school in Japan.)
  52.
  53. 8
  54.
  55. Clubs: What afterschool clubs your character participates in. Sports are officially considered clubs; other group activities such as Student Council may also be appropriate for this space. Characters who participate in no such activities are in the "Go Home Club," whereas characters who don't attend school and have no club-like activities write "N/A." Please detail your club participation, or lack thereof, in the History or Personality section.
  56.
  57. Sailing Club; Student Council
  58.
  59. Quote: A transformation or attack phrase, spell incantation, or a characteristic pre-fight speech. If your character doesn't have anything like that, you can use a regular quote instead.
  60.
  61. “I fight for my freedom! What could be nobler?”
  62.
  63. Profile: Tell us a short, one paragraph summary of the character. Nothing too complex; a summary of their background, personality, and goals that will give other players a general overview of your character. Check out the profiles of pre-existing characters for some examples!
  64.
  65. Takara is the genderless, attractive, and bombastic Middle School Treasurer of Ohtori’s Student Council. Born to wealth and privilege, but stifled under the demands of keeping up appearances and restrictive and inaccurate gender roles, Takara views their enrollment at Ohtori as the first step to gaining true independence. They perform their functions in the shadowy Student Council with perhaps less discretion and poise than is typical, and are generally just a little immature. Secretly, they participate in the Student Council’s Duels for the power to revolutionize the world, for the power to bring themself real freedom.
  66.
  67.
  68.
  69. 4. Do you remember the past?
  70. Tell us your character's history. Use as much detail as you think the character needs. If your character has super powers or magic, be sure to explain how they got them (and keep the Paths to Power in mind!). Remember, Battle Fantasia's world isn't exactly like your character's canon theme, so if the world setup has affected their past, be sure to factor this in. If your character is attending one of the schools, be sure to mention it here.
  71.
  72. Takara was born into the absolute peak of opulence, with all their material needs provided for and their every whim granted. Expected to follow in the footsteps of their older brother Kazuo, a polite and well-heeled boy, any chance Takara had of becoming a model child was shattered when they started to become more aware of their growing gender dysphoria. Their parents, other reletives, and the rest of high society reacted less than favorably to what they percieved as crossdressing and other deviations from their male gender roles. They were punished frequently and denied any capacity for expressing their gender identity. Faced with stifling pressure to conform, Takara reacted by taking every attempt to tell them what to do as a transgression, struggling as hard as they could.
  73.
  74. Throughout their life the only person who remained loyal to them was their older brother. In Kazuo's comfort and support they found the strength to continue fighting, but as they aged they saw, bit by bit, anything that made him unique be phased out as he grew into the expectations laid out before him.
  75.
  76. Just as their resolve started to waver, the Maki siblings were invited to join the prestigious Ohtori Academy (despite Takara's mediocre grades). The school was well-renowned enough for Kazuo and far enough away that Takara would cease to embaress their parents, and so the invitation was quickly accepted. The distance from their family brought Takara some reprieve, especially as they were now much freer to present how they liked, but their natural instinct to fight against anything that might look like authority was already engrained, and their disciplinary problems continued.
  77.
  78. Fortune turned in Takara’s favor when, after a particularly grueling detention, they came home to a monogrammed letter from Ends of the World. The letter promised them a chance to win the power to bring the world revolution-- in short, the true, absolute freedom that their heart desires. They jumped at the chance, and seeing the castle suspended in the sky over the Dueling Arena only confirmed what their heart knew to be true. With the power afforded to them as a Duelist, they’ve begun to acquaint themself with the supernatural world, following the challenge bracket eagerly and fighting against youma to prove the strength of their desire.
  79.
  80. 5. Open your heart!
  81. Describe your character's personality. Don't skimp; this is arguably the most important part of the application. What are their hopes and dreams? How do they view their mission, if they have one? What do they do for fun? How do they relate to their friends and enemies? What do they think of school, magic, current events and the world around them? Include as much as you think you need. Obviously some characters are going to have more complex personalities than others, but everyone has a little bit of depth.
  82.
  83. At best, Takara is fearless, vivacious, and determined. At worst, they’re reckless, abrasive, and stubborn. They have a deep seated hated of being told what to do stemming from their own discomfort with their assigned gender roles, something that landed them in trouble more than once before their ascension to the Student Council. While elsewhere these feelings might be misplaced, in the power struggles and backroom deals of Ohtori Academy it might just prove necessary for survival. They like anything that gives them a feeling of freedom (thus their interest in sailing), and prefer solitary activities to team activities.
  84.
  85. Takara has an abstract love of the concept of “freedom” in general, which tends to influence how they view other people. They tend to admire nonconformists of all stripes and view people mired in other people’s expectations and desires with either pity or anger, depending on the person and how they view their own lack of agency. They have difficulty, however, finding their stance on people who use their freedom to infringe upon that of others-- while on the surface, Takara will refer to them as “tyrants” or similar, the fact remains that they are infringing on the freedom of other Duelists, the Rose Bride, and the student body in general by participating in Ends of the Worlds’ machinations. Takara has so far done their best to avoid thinking about the issue, and tends to default to “survival of the fittest” or “the ends justify the means” when pressed. In the depths of their mind, the power to bring the world revolution is important enough to relax some of their principles. Through the Duels, they hope to change the world, and make themself (and perhaps others) free from subjugation forever. Chief on that list of other people is Kazuo, who protected them as a child and now finds himself completely enmeshed in the expectations laid out before him at birth.
  86.
  87. Takara isn’t tremendously curious, and takes the Duels and other supernatural phenomena pretty much at face value. They fight youma for equal parts fun, training, and proof of their skills, but they take the Duels more seriously than anything else-- they are, after all, the means by which they plan to make their dreams a reality. They don’t perfectly understand what Ends of the World is responsible for, and although what they do know points to little good they do their best to ignore the hypocrisy and contradiction of their employeer.
  88.
  89. 5a. The heart speaks!
  90. Describe in depth the relationships your character has with various important individuals in their life. For Feature Characters, we want to explore your understanding of canon relationships, with the understanding that once a character is approved, their subsequent roleplay can change these profoundly. On Battle Fantasia, not everyone may even have met yet, but we still want to know how they're likely to feel given canon. For all characters, we want to know who's really important in your life, and how you feel about them, because magical girl stories are very much about relationships.
  91.
  92. Takara currently has one meaningful relationship: that with their brother, Kazuo. Where they reacted to the expectations of high society by violently abjuring them, Kazuo reacted by accepting them, allowing himself to be molded into a model child. Where Takara is loud and rebellious, Kazuo is well-spoken and studious. Takara feels a mixture of protectiveness and pity for Kazuo, who they view as a victim of the exact systems that they resist so strongly. Although Takara’s ultimate priority is their own freedom and advancement, they still feels a sense of familial obligation to him and desires to free him too, if possible.
  93.
  94. 6. Fight for your friends! Fight for your school?
  95. Are you apping your character into an organization or planning on having them join one? If so, explain why your character is working for that organization. Also, whether they are in one or not, how do they feel about the different organizations? It's okay to say if they don't know much about the organizations, especially if they are unaffiliated. If they attend school, how do they feel about their own school, and what are their views on the others?
  96.
  97. Juuban Public School: There’s not much for Takara to think about Juuban, but their latent classism makes them tend to look down on it.
  98.
  99. Ohtori Academy: Takara’s relationship to their school is complicated, to say the least. Ohtori is the vector by which they first came to pursue their freedom, and at this point they’re sufficiently emeshed in the political web that they feel some attachment to it-- but they bristle at Ohtori’s old traditions and strict discipline, seeing them as counter to their own desires.
  100.
  101. Infinity Institute: Infinity Institute would almost certainly be a better match for Takara’s philosophy than Ohtori-- but they’re not there. While Takara feels a sense of allure about the Institute, their loyalty, ultimately, lies with Ohtori.
  102.
  103. Dark Fall: Takara doesn’t have a very strong conception of Dark Fall as an organization, but occasionally partakes in beating up youma to prove the strength of their nobility in between duels. They understand, intellectually, that this is incredibly dangerous, but are also bad at making good decisions.
  104.
  105. Ends of the World (rarely known about directly; secret conspiracy is secret):Takara is nothing but grateful to Ends of the World for their role in Takara’s metaphorical emancipation. They’ve come to accept the distasteful nature of the Duels, especially their treatment of the Rose Bride, as natural and inevitable. Their stance towards Ends of the World might change if they realized how deep the conspiracy runs, or just how thoroughly they’ve been manipulated by the organization/entity.
  106.
  107. Magic Association: Takara does not know that the Magic Association exists. Their hatred of bureaucracy and tradition will almost certainly extend to the MA.
  108.
  109. Tuner Organization: Takara does not know that the Tuner Organization exists. Their love of pragmatism and ill-advised monster fights will likely endear them to the Tuners, so long as they stay out of the Duels.
  110.
  111. 7. Show us your true power!
  112. Describe your character's combat and non-combat powers here. Are they fierce fighters, careful combat analysts or idol singers? What is their transformation like? What is the origin of their powers -- their Path(s) to Power, which must include some sort of Artifact? Please list ways that their powers might be taken away from them, and ways that they might someday be enhanced. Even if your character doesn't use any magic or supernatural power whatsoever, tell us about any capabilities they have, physical or otherwise.
  113.
  114.
  115.
  116. Takara can fight at the level of a magical girl with the help of the Artifact (Rose Seal) they obtained from their Contract with Ends of the World, which allows them to assume the mantle of a Duelist, a minor transformation characterized by epaulettes and other period pieces accenting their Student Council uniform. Befitting their personality, Takara’s fighting style is reckless and aggressive, paying little to no attention to their own defenses. They focus on speed and agility, overwhelming opponents with swift strokes. Of course, without the Rose Seal, Takara fights about as well as an athletic and untrained 14 year old. Their power could be reinforced if they gained access to their Soul Sword, which will hopefully happen at some point.
  117.
  118. Outside of combat, they have access to the kind of money that befits a corporate scion/ Ohtori treasurer, and all the power that implies.
  119.
  120.
  121. 7a. ...And your strength?
  122. This is where you'll build your stats, or suggest changes if you're apping a character that already has stats. If you would like the staff to build your stats for you, simply suggest which stats are most important to your character. If you are building your own stats, please refer to the our detailed Chargen instructions, and fill out the following template:
  123.
  124. Starting Master Rank: Normally B (with 292 Character points) or C (spending up to 264/292 character points). Please justify your choice.
  125.
  126. C, 240 points.
  127.
  128. Master Traits: Abilities that your character retains in all of their Henshin Forms, including their Base Mode. A character gets a number of points for these defined by their Master Rank.
  129.
  130. Riposte
  131.
  132. Swan Leap
  133.
  134. Vivacious
  135.
  136. Then, for each transformation:
  137.
  138. Henshin Name: The name of a given transformation, such as "Sailor Moon."
  139.
  140. Henshin Rank: Normally equal to Master Rank; higher ranks incur a per-round mana surcharge. A civilian Base Mode is usually Rank E; please justify any other choice.
  141.
  142. Stats range between 1-100, but 30 is already epic in scope by any normal metric.
  143.
  144. Might: The strength behind your character's attacks.
  145. Reflex: The ability of your character to avoid attacks by dodging.
  146. Vitality: The ability of your character to avoid physical attacks by bracing.
  147. Spirit: The ability of your character to avoid magical attacks by bracing.
  148. Composure: The ability of your character to retain their composure in battle. Ranges between 0 (Sailor Moon) and 10 (Miyu Greer, a robot).
  149. Henshin Traits: Special abilities that your character only has access to while transformed into a given Henshin Form.
  150.
  151. Extra Attacks: An extra Finisher or Special attack slot costs 5 points apiece. Henshin Forms start with 2 Finishers and 3 Specials. Base Modes get neither, and cannot spend points on Extra Attacks in this fashion.
  152.
  153. Total Character Points Spent: Might + Reflex + Vitality + Spirit + cost of Henshin Traits + 5 * (# of Extra Attacks) = 292, unless Starting Master Rank is something other than B.
  154.

  195.
  196. 7b. ...And you use Saint Rainbow Lily Lipliner?!
  197. Name your attacks in each Henshin Form here, with a bit of description. Remember, attacks can also include buffs, cheers and taunts; the power of emotion is every bit as potent as that of a magical blast.
  198.
  199. If you would like to build your own attacks in Combat System, please refer to Attacks, then fill out the following form for each attack:
  200.
  201. Attack Name: Self-explanatory.
  202.
  203. Attack Description: What does it do, qualitatively?
  204.
  205. Attack Tier: Finisher or Special.
  206.
  207. Attack Power Level: 0-10. Remember that 3 is "dropping a building on someone's head," Specials cap at 5 and Finishers start at 4. 8 is the upper limit for attacks that can be used with any kind of regularity.
  208.
  209. Attack Type: Magical or Physical.
  210.
  211. Attack Range: Melee or Ranged.
  212.
  213. Attack Flags: Various modifiers to the attack.
  214.
  215. Total Points Spent On Attack: Power Level + Attack Flag Costs. Please break it down for us very clearly, and make sure it adds up to the correct number as listed on the wiki.
  216.
  217. Attack Name: Avast!
  218.
  219. Attack Description: Takara rains blow upon blow on their enemy in a bid to end the fight before they run out of energy.

  250.
  251.
  252. Attack Name: Bank The Wind
  253.
  254. Attack Description: In an appropriately cinematic move, Takara spins their blade in a circle in front of themself, quickly enough to serve as an impromptu shield against projectiles.

  302.
  303.
  304.
  305. 7c. ...What is the shade of your heart?
  306. Are you applying for an antagonist -- that is to say, a character designed to be in a villainous role rather than a heroic one? If so, please indicate so here, give us some sense of the specific ways you hope to antagonize the grid, and your potential IC vision and rough OOC timeline for redemption (six months? a year? two years? never ever ever?). Obviously this is subject to change, so just give us your best guess. For your timeline, please account for the fact that the grid is overwhelmingly forgiveness and friendship-oriented; sustained antagonism requires active effort and commitment.
  307.
  308.
  309.
  310. Nah. Takara has been kept, for now, from most of Ends of the Worlds’ greater antagonism, as their commitment to the organization is still somewhat shaky. While this could change, Takara is still, largely, on the side of Good (so long as they stay out of their Duels).
  311.
  312.
  313.
  314. 8. Are things different now?
  315. If your character is from a preexisting theme that hasn't been integrated yet, describe the integration here. Some themes won't need very many changes at all in order to fit in; others will need heavier alteration. If your theme is already integrated, but you want to specify something about your character, you can do that here, too.
  316.
  317. Likewise, if there's anything we need to know about an original theme that isn't covered in the history section, this is the place to let us know.
  318.
  319. If your theme does not yet have its single paragraph of introduction and explanation in the Theme Primer, please fill out the template below and we'll add it for the world to see, so that people unfamiliar with your theme will have a reference!
  320.
  321. The intent of Theme Primers is to sufficiently inform people who who know nothing about your theme such that they can think about it deeply enough to try to incorporate things important to you into their RP and plots (with your permission).
  322.
  323. Share as much as you want to! Spoilers are often at least downplayed in FC theme integration, but if you want to just get real and lay it out, that makes it that much easier for people to integrate with it, either with additional applications (with your permission) or plots (with your permission).
  324.
  325. The opportunity cost of that, of course, is shocking the public with the big twists (which you will presumably provide for the staff, elsewhere in the application, if there are any pre-planned ones).
  326.
  327.
  328. Theme Name: Self-explanatory.
  329.
  330. Theme Info: A paragraph of basic information for someone interacting with elements of your theme who hasn't ever been exposed to it before, as well as any notes on integration changes for people who have seen the theme but need to know what's different on Battle Fantasia.
  331.
  332. Theme Organizational Connections: If there are any vital connections between theme elements and an Organization, please very briefly describe them here.
  333.
  334. Example Theme Paths to Power: Please list the most usual way that a magical girl within your theme might access their destiny through an Artifact, and optionally a Contract and/or Legacy.
  335.

  341.
  342. 9. Origin Story GMing Round Robin
  343. 9a: Do you want to participate in the Origin Story Round Robin, in which in exchange for GMing someone else's origin story (typically, 'my first day as a magical girl'), someone else does the same for you?
  344.
  345.
  346.
  347. I’m all good! Takara has been off-camera in the thick of things for a while.
  348.
  349.
  350.
  351. 9b: If yes, which themes do you feel comfortable storytelling in? If you're willing to do a little research beforehand to fill in the gaps in your knowledge base, 'all of them' is a perfectly acceptable answer, but if you have any themes that you have some depth of knowledge of, please mention them too.
  352.
  353.
  354. That's all! Just send the application (in an e-mail, not as an attachment) to battlefantasiastaff@gmail.com. Please use the subject title Application - FC/OC - Name - Source Theme. Remember, we have the right to reject an application for any reason, including poor grammar and spelling. Please wait a week before contacting the staff about your application. Feature characters have a three day closing period; if there is a contest between multiple apps, the closing period will end as normal, but all the applicants will be notified and given up to three days after applications have closed, to revise as they please.

  358. Hi there! Thanks for your interest and your application. It’s been a while, and it’s good to see you again. This idea is good, and I have a personal interest in Duelists. I think Takara has a lot of potential to fit in well at BF, but there are some things I’ll need to see before I can move them to approval. Mostly, that’s ‘more’ about their character! So I’m just going to go down the line and where I want more or changes, I’ll tell you what I want. Let’s go!
  359.
  360. 1) Background
  361.
  362. The big thing about this background is it doesn’t tell me what shaped them to be the way they are, only that they were that way and it affected them. Formative influences, reasons to resent authority, these would be great here.
  363.
  364. Additionally, all Duelists actually get to see the castle in the sky, as a proof of the miracle. Just a cool detail to know.
  365.
  366. On the whole I need more of their mundane life; I’d appreciate detailing how their preferred presentation clashed with their family. Was it a matter of demands, rules, or expectations?
  367.
  368. Finally try to use these questions to thread in more of their mundane life up to now.
  369.
  370. 2) Personality
  371.
  372. Why do they hate being told what to do so much?
  373.
  374. Would it bother them, to be looking for personal freedom rather than freedom for others? Tell me about that either way, since you hinted some in the app.
  375.
  376. What are their hopes and dreams?
  377.
  378. How do they feel about working for Ends of the World?
  379.
  380. 3) Relationships:
  381.
  382. One good exercise for this character would be to speculate how she’d feel about the other Student Council members: Touga, Saionji, Juri, and Miki in particular, as well as the Engaged Utena and the Rose Bride, Anthy. We don’t need a huge section on each, but it would really fill out relationships we can expect to see.
  383.
  384. 4) Schools and Orgs:
  385.
  386. One thing that other Duelists on BF have done is occasionally receive orders from Ends of the World to perform antagonistic actions; stealing some important artifact, protecting an operation, generally disguised and generally villainous. I’ll go into this more in a later section, but it’s relevant for this entry.
  387.
  388. 5) Powers
  389.
  390. As a normal 14 year old athlete, Takara would be unable keep up with magical girls and take down shadowy monsters. Luckily, on BF the Rose Signet offers a special power to each wearer who is worthy, and allows them to function on a magical level. This looks the same in general, though there might be some nice special effects in your rose color, and the act of transformation typically leads to extra ruffles and epaulettes and whatnot, per canon. For this, just check out Utena’s theme primer and integration notes, and get back to me on this section with a powers writeup based on the appropriate Paths to Power.
  391.
  392. 6) Antagonist?
  393.
  394. It’s up to you; what I said earlier would apply here if you wanted to do a lot of Ends antagonism. There’s no need to be evil to antagonize, there’s plenty to go around. I do recommend being prepared for it though. It is possible for the alpha and omega of Takara’s relationship with Ends of the World being very occasional letters about the Duels and nothing else -- if that’s what you really want, please let us know here. That being the case they would be largely unaware of the larger conspiracy (and corresponding world-shaking actions) of the organization.
  395.
  396. AND
  397.
  398. That’s it! Thank you for reading all the way through, and I really look forward to your reply and to getting Takara out onto the grid! If you have any questions, you know where to reach me.

If they're a university student, say "U." (For an age-to-grade guide, please see: Japanese Grades.

  462.
  464.
  465.
  466.
  467. 4. Do you remember the past?
  469.
  470. Takara was born into the absolute peak of opulence, with all their material needs provided for and their every whim granted. But the naturally hot-blooded and rambunctious child felt the other side of the coin-- the stifling expectations of polite society. Every function was a new chance for them to earn the ire of their parents and the shame of the ultra-rich friends of the family that attended them. Their only friend during this period was their older brother, Kazuo, with whom they developed a close, dependent relationship. This stifled existence continued until, when Takara was 13, the Maki siblings were invited to transfer to Ohtori Academy far away from their controlling family life. But although this brought some freedom to Takara’s life (most notably, their ability to begin presenting the way they desired), they had already learned that any imposition of control over their life was something to be hated and rallied against. At Ohtori, this control came from teachers and faculty, from the byzantine politics of the student body, and the sinister mechanations of the Student Council.
  471.
  472. Fortune turned in Takara’s favor when, after a particularly grueling detention, they came home to a monogrammed letter from Ends of the World. The letter promised them a chance to win the power to bring the world revolution-- in short, the true freedom that their heart desires. They jumped at the chance, and the second they laid eyes on the Rose Seal of the Duelists they knew that this was real. With the power afforded to them as a Duelist, they’ve begun to acquaint themself with the supernatural world, following the challenge bracket eagerly and fighting against youma to prove the strength of their desire.
  473.
  474. 5. Open your heart!
  476.
  477. At best, Takara is fearless, vivacious, and determined. At worst, they’re reckless, abrasive, and stubborn. They have a deep seated hated of being told what to do, something that landed them in trouble more than once before their ascension to the Student Council. While elsewhere these feelings might be misplaced, in the power struggles and backroom deals of Ohtori Academy it might just prove necessary for survival. They like anything that gives them a feeling of freedom (thus their interest in sailing), and prefer solitary activities to team activities.
  478.
  479.
  480. Takara has a fundamental inability to empathize with other people. In part because of their isolated upbringing, in part because of their codependency with their brother, and in part because of their strong and sometimes offputting personality, they don’t easily form healthy friendships and tend to view them in terms of their utility. Their own reaction to this part of their psyche vacillates between denial and brushing it off with something about “independence” or even “survival of the fittest”, keeping them safe from the damaging realization that their involvement in the Duels is cruel and antithetical to a desire for any kind of freedom that isn’t purely personal.
  481.
  482.
  483.
  485.
  486. 5a. The heart speaks!
  488.
  489.
  490.
  492.
  493.
  494.
  495. 6. Fight for your friends! Fight for your school?
  497.
  498. Juuban Public School: There’s not much for Takara to think about Juuban, but their latent classism makes them tend to look down on it.
  499.
  501.
  502. Infinity Institute: Infinity Institute would almost certainly be a better match for Takara’s philosophy than Ohtori-- but they’re not there. While Takara feels a sense of allure about the Institute, their loyalty, ultimately, lies with Ohtori.
  503.
  504. Dark Fall: Takara doesn’t have a very strong conception of Dark Fall as an organization, but occasionally partakes in beating up youma to prove the strength of their nobility in between duels. They understand, intellectually, that this is incredibly dangerous, but are also bad at making good decisions.
  505.
  507.
  508. Magic Association: Takara does not know that the Magic Association exists. Their hatred of bureaucracy and tradition will almost certainly extend to the MA.
  509.
  510. Tuner Organization: Takara does not know that the Tuner Organization exists. Their love of pragmatism and ill-advised monster fights will likely endear them to the Tuners, so long as they stay out of the Duels.
  511.
  512. 7. Show us your true power!
  514.
  515.
  516.
  517. Takara fights with the power they gained from accepting Ends of the World’s signet ring as the Jade Rose Duelist, using a mundane cutlass.
  518.
  519. Outside of combat, they have access to the kind of money that befits a corporate scion/ Ohtori treasurer, and all the power that implies.
  520.
  521.
  522.
  523. 7a. ...And your strength?
  524. This is where you'll build your stats, or suggest changes if you're apping a character that already has stats. If you would like the staff to build your stats for you, simply suggest which stats are most important to your character. If you are building your own stats, please refer to the our detailed Chargen instructions, and fill out the following template:
  525.
  526. Starting Master Rank: Normally B (with 292 Character points) or C (spending up to 264/292 character points). Please justify your choice.
  527.
  528. C, 240 points.
  529.
  530. Master Traits: Abilities that your character retains in all of their Henshin Forms, including their Base Mode. A character gets a number of points for these defined by their Master Rank.
  531.
  532. Riposte
  533.
  534. Swan Leap
  535.
  536. Vivacious
  537.
  538. Then, for each transformation:
  539.
  540. Henshin Name: The name of a given transformation, such as "Sailor Moon."
  541.
  542. Henshin Rank: Normally equal to Master Rank; higher ranks incur a per-round mana surcharge. A civilian Base Mode is usually Rank E; please justify any other choice.
  543.
  544. Stats range between 1-100, but 30 is already epic in scope by any normal metric.
  545.
  546. Might: The strength behind your character's attacks.
  547. Reflex: The ability of your character to avoid attacks by dodging.
  548. Vitality: The ability of your character to avoid physical attacks by bracing.
  549. Spirit: The ability of your character to avoid magical attacks by bracing.
  550. Composure: The ability of your character to retain their composure in battle. Ranges between 0 (Sailor Moon) and 10 (Miyu Greer, a robot).
  551. Henshin Traits: Special abilities that your character only has access to while transformed into a given Henshin Form.
  552.
  553. Extra Attacks: An extra Finisher or Special attack slot costs 5 points apiece. Henshin Forms start with 2 Finishers and 3 Specials. Base Modes get neither, and cannot spend points on Extra Attacks in this fashion.
  554.
  555. Total Character Points Spent: Might + Reflex + Vitality + Spirit + cost of Henshin Traits + 5 * (# of Extra Attacks) = 292, unless Starting Master Rank is something other than B.

  625.
  626. Attack Name: Avast!

  716. 7c. ...What is the shade of your heart?
  718.
  719.
  720.
  721. Nah. Takara might be misguided, pigheaded, and kind of a jerk, but they’re not evil.
  722.
  723.
  724.
  725. 8. Are things different now?
  726. If your character is from a preexisting theme that hasn't been integrated yet, describe the integration here. Some themes won't need very many changes at all in order to fit in; others will need heavier alteration. If your theme is already integrated, but you want to specify something about your character, you can do that here, too.
  727.
  728. Likewise, if there's anything we need to know about an original theme that isn't covered in the history section, this is the place to let us know.
  729.
  730. If your theme does not yet have its single paragraph of introduction and explanation in the Theme Primer, please fill out the template below and we'll add it for the world to see, so that people unfamiliar with your theme will have a reference!
  731.
  732. The intent of Theme Primers is to sufficiently inform people who who know nothing about your theme such that they can think about it deeply enough to try to incorporate things important to you into their RP and plots (with your permission).
  733.
  734. Share as much as you want to! Spoilers are often at least downplayed in FC theme integration, but if you want to just get real and lay it out, that makes it that much easier for people to integrate with it, either with additional applications (with your permission) or plots (with your permission).
  735.
  736. The opportunity cost of that, of course, is shocking the public with the big twists (which you will presumably provide for the staff, elsewhere in the application, if there are any pre-planned ones).
  737.
  738.
  739. Theme Name: Self-explanatory.
  740.
  741. Theme Info: A paragraph of basic information for someone interacting with elements of your theme who hasn't ever been exposed to it before, as well as any notes on integration changes for people who have seen the theme but need to know what's different on Battle Fantasia.
  742.
  743. Theme Organizational Connections: If there are any vital connections between theme elements and an Organization, please very briefly describe them here.
  744.
  745. Example Theme Paths to Power: Please list the most usual way that a magical girl within your theme might access their destiny through an Artifact, and optionally a Contract and/or Legacy.
  746.
  747.
  748.
  749. Revolutionary Girl Utena has already been integrated.
  750.
  751.
  752.
  753. 9. Origin Story GMing Round Robin
  754. 9a: Do you want to participate in the Origin Story Round Robin, in which in exchange for GMing someone else's origin story (typically, 'my first day as a magical girl'), someone else does the same for you?
  755.
  756.
  757.
  758. I’m all good! Takara has been off-camera in the thick of things for a while.
  759.
  760.
  761.
  762. 9b: If yes, which themes do you feel comfortable storytelling in? If you're willing to do a little research beforehand to fill in the gaps in your knowledge base, 'all of them' is a perfectly acceptable answer, but if you have any themes that you have some depth of knowledge of, please mention them too.
  763.
  764.
  765.
  766.
  767.
  768.
