  1. [29-Apr-20 07:52 AM] Ninja#8225
  2. i would support a heat rock ban
  3.
  4. [29-Apr-20 07:52 AM] Ninja#8225
  5. i think the length of sun is what makes it rly suck
  6.
  7. [29-Apr-20 07:52 AM] Ninja#8225
  8. with no heat rock you can basically make one correct predict like getting ferro in on grass/poison move
  9.
  10. [29-Apr-20 07:53 AM] Ninja#8225
  11. and be able to stall out the sun turns pretty easily
  12.
  13. [29-Apr-20 07:53 AM] Ninja#8225
  14. i think its the length that makes it really bad
  15.
  16. [29-Apr-20 07:53 AM] Ninja#8225
  17. bc the bulbasaur user can click the wrong moves half the time and still take out most of your team
  18.
  19. [29-Apr-20 08:32 AM] Serene Grace#5243
  20. > bc the bulbasaur user can click the wrong moves half the time and still take out most of your team
  21. sounds like a bulbasaur problem then
  22.
  23. [29-Apr-20 08:33 AM] levi#6206
  24. Yea I don't think heat rock would be busted with cherry
  25.
  26. [29-Apr-20 08:33 AM] levi#6206
  27. Who has worse typing, doesn't get sleep, and is much frailer
  28.
  29. [29-Apr-20 08:33 AM] Ninja#8225
  30. i dont think bulbasaur with no heat rock is broken
  31.
  32. [29-Apr-20 09:57 AM] LilyAC#7887
  33. im undecided but assuming sun is broken rn because of bulba,
  34.
  35. [29-Apr-20 09:57 AM] LilyAC#7887
  36. we have a situation where bulba is broken on its own regardless of vulpix
  37.
  38. [29-Apr-20 09:58 AM] LilyAC#7887
  39. making cherubi the only pokemon vulpix breaks. shouldnt that mean cherry should be banned over vulpix?
  40.
  41. [29-Apr-20 09:58 AM] LilyAC#7887
  42. like shouldnt we free vulpix and then ban bulba and cherry
  43.
  44. [29-Apr-20 09:59 AM] levi#6206
  45. that could be worth looking into but would vulpix + pony be broken too?
  46.
  47. [29-Apr-20 10:01 AM] levi#6206
  48. if its not then i think banning cherry bulba is better ya
  49.
  50. [29-Apr-20 10:02 AM] LilyAC#7887
  51. no idt vulpix + pony would be broken
  52.
  53. [29-Apr-20 10:04 AM] Pablo#5523
  54. vulpix + charmander + oddish was pretty broken in pre home meta
  55.
  56. [29-Apr-20 10:04 AM] Pablo#5523
  57. imagine would be worse with pony too
  58.
  59. [29-Apr-20 10:05 AM] levi#6206
  60. i definitely dont agree w pre home sun being broken
  61.
  62. [29-Apr-20 10:05 AM] levi#6206
  63. pony seems more broken than charm since its still a real threat once sun runs out
  64.
  65. [29-Apr-20 10:05 AM] levi#6206
  66. + bulkier, doesnt need scarf etc
  67.
  68. [29-Apr-20 10:06 AM] Pablo#5523
  69. Munch made it less broken
  70.
  71. [29-Apr-20 10:06 AM] Pablo#5523
  72. Its so ass noe
  73.
  74. [29-Apr-20 10:06 AM] Pablo#5523
  75. Now
  76.
  77. [29-Apr-20 10:07 AM] levi#6206
  78. o ya ig thats fair
  79.
  80. [29-Apr-20 10:09 AM] Pablo#5523
  81. Drifloon too to an extent cuz it was a decent oddish check
  82.
  83. [29-Apr-20 10:11 AM] levi#6206
  84. well pawn has also gotten better + pony exists now
  85.
  86. [29-Apr-20 10:56 AM] Coconut#8762
  87. After some deliberation, I think we need to keep trapping post-LCPL. Realistically, we're only going to have a month in between LCPL ending and DLC1. Making such a significant metagame change right before a gigantic warping of our meta might not be the best thing for it's stability. I think we should see all the tools we get in DLC1 before we move forward with suspecting either of the trappers. On that note I still don't really think that sun is banworthy, but it would be the next suspect worthy thing on my personal radar. I think that the best course of action that we could take is banning Heat Rock and unbanning Vulpix, as Bulba is strong but we could see a rise of cherubi/charmander taking it's place on a sun team and not needing much adjustment otherwise. The former makes it easier to wall, as it lacks poison coverage; the latter being trapped more easily or chipped down significantly faster, yet the options that they provide should be relatively easier than just getting rid of Heat Rock. I also don't think Vulpix will be broken with Heat Rock gone, as it would opt to more offensive based items like Specs or Scarf.
  88.
  89. I still think at the current moment I would vote DNB on Sun, but this is the approach I see being best at the moment, let me know what you think
  90.
  91. [29-Apr-20 11:11 AM] Luthier#1578
  92. wait we're not considering a ban on trapping?
  93.
  94. [29-Apr-20 11:11 AM] Luthier#1578
  95. ok sorry i was acting hastily
  96.
  97. [29-Apr-20 11:11 AM] Luthier#1578
  98. i read ur paragraph through
  99.
  100. [29-Apr-20 11:12 AM] Shrug#7659
  101. i am not considering a ban on it
  102.
  103. [29-Apr-20 11:13 AM] Luthier#1578
  104. each is entitled to their own opinions 👍🏿
  105.
  106. [29-Apr-20 11:15 AM] Serene Grace#5243
  107. sun discussions make my head hurt 😖
  108.
  109. [29-Apr-20 11:15 AM] levi#6206
  110. is stability a factor when the meta's going to change in a month anyways?
  111.
  112. [29-Apr-20 11:16 AM] levi#6206
  113. that seems like a reason to care about stability less if anything since wed be dealing w an unstable meta either way
  114.
  115. [29-Apr-20 11:16 AM] levi#6206
  116. we could wait to see if any of the introductions make the suspect of choice drastically less viable maybe
  117.
  118. [29-Apr-20 11:17 AM] levi#6206
  119. but idk if i agree with treating suspects differently just bc a meta shift is coming up
  120.
  121. [29-Apr-20 11:19 AM] levi#6206
  122. it makes sense if we just dont want to go through the effort of running another suspect, but if we want a suspect idt it should be an active deterrent either
  123.
  124. [29-Apr-20 11:19 AM] levi#6206
  125. its not like the effort is wasted since the ban is still going to carry over through the next meta shift
  126.
  127. [29-Apr-20 11:20 AM] levi#6206
  128. gonna compile the next council minutes soon btw
  129.
  130. [29-Apr-20 11:20 AM] Coconut#8762
  131. if we ban diglett in a meta that would sorely benefit from diglett, we would potentially have to go through a process of unbanning it in a double jeopardy situation, which I would like to avoid
  132.
  133. [29-Apr-20 11:21 AM] levi#6206
  134. that feels like it's giving preferential treatment to diglett (or bulba) just bc it happens to occur the latest
  135.
  136. [29-Apr-20 11:21 AM] levi#6206
  137. what if the meta would benefit a lot from cutiefly or drifloon
  138.
  139. [29-Apr-20 11:22 AM] levi#6206
  140. which won't happen ofc but you get what i mean
  141.
  142. [29-Apr-20 11:24 AM] Coconut#8762
  143. I see your point, but it's the double jeopardy
  144.
  145. [29-Apr-20 11:24 AM] Coconut#8762
  146. that I'm more attempting to avoid
  147.
  148. [29-Apr-20 11:25 AM] Serene Grace#5243
  149. heysup can be the lawyer
  150.
  151. [29-Apr-20 12:08 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  152. if dlc adds a bunch of mons
  153.
  154. [29-Apr-20 12:09 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  155. do we want to test those mons first then retest vulpix/cutiefly etc
  156.
  157. [redacted]
  158.
  159. [30-Apr-20 10:13 AM] jake#8907
  160. when is the dlc supposed to drop? june?
  161.
  162. [30-Apr-20 10:14 AM] jake#8907
  163. im curious what the approach of other tiers will be
  164.
  165. [30-Apr-20 10:14 AM] jake#8907
  166. regarding suspecting before dlc
  167.
  168. [30-Apr-20 10:15 AM] jake#8907
  169. another thing that i am interested in is what "trappers" means to everyone if that is the next suspect
  170.
  171. [30-Apr-20 10:15 AM] jake#8907
  172. like, trapinch or diglett individually? the ability?
  173.
  174. [30-Apr-20 10:18 AM] starmaster#8286
  175. i think suspecting trapinch sounds p stupid
  176.
  177. [30-Apr-20 10:18 AM] starmaster#8286
  178. so id always do diglett if we were to do it
  179.
  180. [30-Apr-20 10:43 AM] levi#6206
  181. Trapinch isn't rlly problematic at all rn imo
  182.
  183. [30-Apr-20 10:43 AM] levi#6206
  184. It was more problematic with rufflet maybe
  185.
  186. [01-May-20 03:10 PM] Shrug#7659
  187. also true in gen 7
  188.
  189. [01-May-20 03:10 PM] Shrug#7659
  190. pinch bancucks in shambles
  191.
  192. [09-May-20 09:49 AM] Serene Grace#5243
  193. sun suspect?
  194.
  195. [09-May-20 07:37 PM] Luthier#1578
  196. man we suspected pix and there were still routes for sun to be broken
  197.
  198. [09-May-20 07:37 PM] Luthier#1578
  199. with heatrock and what not
  200.
  201. [09-May-20 07:37 PM] Luthier#1578
  202. at this point i think the only two options are to suspect chlorophyll or heat rock
  203.
  204. [09-May-20 07:37 PM] Luthier#1578
  205. u can obv call me out and call me stupid for believing so, but this is my personal stance
  206.
  207. [09-May-20 07:51 PM] jake#8907
  208. im not sure how i feel about suspecting sun
  209.
  210. [09-May-20 07:51 PM] jake#8907
  211. it doesnt feel nearly as oppressive as it has been for the other times we have suspected
  212.
  213. [09-May-20 07:51 PM] jake#8907
  214. but it is strong
  215.
  216. [09-May-20 07:53 PM] Luthier#1578
  217. personally i think there should be other mons suspectedbut
  218.
  219. [09-May-20 07:54 PM] Luthier#1578
  220. it feels like such wasted efforts when the drop is in
  221.
  222. [09-May-20 07:54 PM] Luthier#1578
  223. 20 days
  224.
  225. [09-May-20 07:55 PM] Luthier#1578
  226. by the time we put up suspect
  227.
  228. [09-May-20 07:55 PM] Luthier#1578
  229. conclude vote and readjust meta
  230.
  231. [09-May-20 07:55 PM] Luthier#1578
  232. we'll be in a new meta w new drops
  233.
  234. [09-May-20 07:56 PM] Luthier#1578
  235. i do think its tragic though that we have to endure through this
  236.
  237. [09-May-20 07:56 PM] Luthier#1578
  238. dlc are dropping at the absolute worst timings
  239.
  240. [09-May-20 10:10 PM] levi#6206
  241. which other mons do you have in mind?
  242.
  243. [09-May-20 10:14 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  244. feels like sun hasnt really been explored enough yet
  245.
  246. [09-May-20 10:14 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  247. like how many people have used sun in lcpl so far
  248.
  249. [09-May-20 10:51 PM] Luthier#1578
  250. trapinch and dug
  251.
  252. [09-May-20 10:51 PM] Luthier#1578
  253. sorry i didnt mean mons
  254.
  255. [09-May-20 10:51 PM] Luthier#1578
  256. i meant mechanics
  257.
  258. [09-May-20 10:51 PM] Luthier#1578
  259. of arena trap
  260.
  261. [09-May-20 10:51 PM] Luthier#1578
  262. errr ability
  263.
  264. [09-May-20 10:51 PM] Luthier#1578
  265. got i cannot talk
  266.
  267. [09-May-20 10:52 PM] Luthier#1578
  268. idk sun is stupidly busted imo
  269.
  270. [09-May-20 11:07 PM] levi#6206
  271. i dont agree with pinch at all
  272.
  273. [09-May-20 11:07 PM] levi#6206
  274. maybe diglett
  275.
  276. [09-May-20 11:11 PM] Ninja#8225
  277. yeah diglett maybe
  278.
  279. [09-May-20 11:11 PM] Ninja#8225
  280. in SM i still feel very strongly that diglett is healthy
  281.
  282. [09-May-20 11:11 PM] Ninja#8225
  283. bc it doesnt switch in and its really just an offensive threat
  284.
  285. [09-May-20 11:11 PM] Ninja#8225
  286. with Z being easily the most common
  287.
  288. [09-May-20 11:11 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  289. feels like they play a different role
  290.
  291. [09-May-20 11:11 PM] Ninja#8225
  292. but now its ust constant eviolite sets
  293.
  294. [09-May-20 11:11 PM] Ninja#8225
  295. i dont think its good for the meta
  296.
  297. [09-May-20 11:11 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  298. SM, diglett traps the broken stuff
  299.
  300. [09-May-20 11:11 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  301. SS, diglett supports the broken stuff
  302.
  303. [09-May-20 11:12 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  304. obv diglett can still support broken stuff in SM too
  305.
  306. [09-May-20 11:12 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  307. but its more one sided
  308.
  309. [09-May-20 11:13 PM] Ninja#8225
  310. yeah
  311.
  312. [redacted]
  313.
  314. [09-May-20 11:16 PM] Luthier#1578
  315. well i mean pinch is def not as busted as diglett but
  316.
  317. [09-May-20 11:16 PM] Luthier#1578
  318. if we're gonna sus diglett i think we should sus pinch near or at the same time (again call me out if u disagree)
  319.
  320. [09-May-20 11:16 PM] Luthier#1578
  321. im asking for a suspect not a ban on them
  322.
  323. [09-May-20 11:16 PM] Luthier#1578
  324. although if it means anything i would hella ban diglett
  325.
  326. [09-May-20 11:17 PM] Luthier#1578
  327. and not ban pinch
  328.
  329. [09-May-20 11:17 PM] Luthier#1578
  330. those are just my viewpoints
  331.
  332. [09-May-20 11:17 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  333. i think we should only suspect mons that we think are banworthy
  334.
  335. [09-May-20 11:17 PM] Luthier#1578
  336. kk fair enough
  337.
  338. [09-May-20 11:17 PM] Luthier#1578
  339. i mean i just think we should lay off for a month and just try to be patient
  340.
  341. [09-May-20 11:17 PM] Luthier#1578
  342. until dlc
  343.
  344. [09-May-20 11:17 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  345. was anyone advocating to ban stuff
  346.
  347. [09-May-20 11:17 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  348. besides you
  349.
  350. [09-May-20 11:17 PM] Luthier#1578
  351. serene wanted to sus sun
  352.
  353. [09-May-20 11:18 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  354. is there a release date for dlc
  355.
  356. [09-May-20 11:18 PM] Luthier#1578
  357. jun 15th latest
  358.
  359. [09-May-20 11:18 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  360. or any idea what will come out with it
  361.
  362. [09-May-20 11:18 PM] Luthier#1578
  363. anytime before taht
  364.
  365. [09-May-20 11:18 PM] Luthier#1578
  366. can also happen
  367.
  368. [09-May-20 11:18 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  369. like lets say dlc comes out
  370.
  371. [09-May-20 11:18 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  372. what mons would make sun balanced
  373.
  374. [09-May-20 11:18 PM] Luthier#1578
  375. idk
  376.
  377. [09-May-20 11:18 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  378. or make cutiefly or rufflet balanced again
  379.
  380. [09-May-20 11:19 PM] Luthier#1578
  381. im just saying i dont like
  382.
  383. [09-May-20 11:19 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  384. or gastly
  385.
  386. [09-May-20 11:19 PM] Luthier#1578
  387. to toy with a meta
  388.
  389. [09-May-20 11:19 PM] Luthier#1578
  390. when sun could be viable
  391.
  392. [09-May-20 11:19 PM] Luthier#1578
  393. in the next meta
  394.
  395. [09-May-20 11:19 PM] Luthier#1578
  396. and we would have ended up wasting our time in here
  397.
  398. [09-May-20 11:19 PM] Luthier#1578
  399. and then our time there too cuz
  400.
  401. [09-May-20 11:19 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  402. its already viable now
  403.
  404. [09-May-20 11:19 PM] Luthier#1578
  405. wed have to resus
  406.
  407. [09-May-20 11:19 PM] Luthier#1578
  408. no im saying
  409.
  410. [09-May-20 11:19 PM] Luthier#1578
  411. well again, personal thoughts but
  412.
  413. [09-May-20 11:19 PM] Luthier#1578
  414. i think its busted now
  415.
  416. [09-May-20 11:20 PM] Luthier#1578
  417. but if its not busted, but fair game next meta
  418.
  419. [09-May-20 11:20 PM] Luthier#1578
  420. but we would have had to spend time banning it now
  421.
  422. [09-May-20 11:20 PM] Luthier#1578
  423. and then unbanning it after
  424.
  425. [09-May-20 11:20 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  426. i think we're too future focused
  427.
  428. [09-May-20 11:20 PM] Luthier#1578
  429. esp since it'll be running during LC open i think time is of the essence then
  430.
  431. [09-May-20 11:20 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  432. and time focused
  433.
  434. [09-May-20 11:20 PM] Luthier#1578
  435. i mean i understand but
  436.
  437. [09-May-20 11:20 PM] Luthier#1578
  438. its going to happen
  439.
  440. [09-May-20 11:20 PM] Luthier#1578
  441. during LC open
  442.
  443. [09-May-20 11:20 PM] Luthier#1578
  444. which is why i am bothered
  445.
  446. [09-May-20 11:20 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  447. like council didnt do shit in SM because the tier was going to end in 3 months
  448.
  449. [09-May-20 11:20 PM] Luthier#1578
  450. thats my only qualm
  451.
  452. [09-May-20 11:20 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  453. despite balancing SM could have been done in less than 3months
  454.
  455. [09-May-20 11:20 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  456. f
  457.
  458. [09-May-20 11:20 PM] Luthier#1578
  459. ya but
  460.
  461. [09-May-20 11:20 PM] Luthier#1578
  462. this is different from that
  463.
  464. [09-May-20 11:21 PM] Luthier#1578
  465. because this will maintain the same gen
  466.
  467. [09-May-20 11:21 PM] Luthier#1578
  468. and this gen will go on for years
  469.
  470. [09-May-20 11:21 PM] Luthier#1578
  471. whereas sm did not
  472.
  473. [09-May-20 11:21 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  474. lets say DLC drops all unreleased mons
  475.
  476. [09-May-20 11:21 PM] Luthier#1578
  477. (although that doesn't mean that the sm decision was right)
  478.
  479. [09-May-20 11:21 PM] Luthier#1578
  480. ok
  481.
  482. [09-May-20 11:21 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  483. mienfoo, abra, foongus, magnemite, etc
  484.
  485. [09-May-20 11:21 PM] Luthier#1578
  486. ok
  487.
  488. [09-May-20 11:21 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  489. do we just reset the tier
  490.
  491. [09-May-20 11:21 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  492. or do we toss em in all at once
  493.
  494. [redacted]
  495.
  496. [09-May-20 11:23 PM] Luthier#1578
  497. anyways
  498.
  499. [09-May-20 11:23 PM] Luthier#1578
  500. back to the topic at hand
  501.
  502. [09-May-20 11:23 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  503. im not that big on taking usage from lcpl for SM
  504.
  505. [09-May-20 11:23 PM] Luthier#1578
  506. what to suspect and when
  507.
  508. [09-May-20 11:23 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  509. too small of a sample pool and its concentrated users
  510.
  511. [09-May-20 11:24 PM] Luthier#1578
  512. if we suspect, that is
  513.
  514. [redacted]
  515.
  516. [09-May-20 11:24 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  517. i dont feel like we have anything to ban in SS right now
  518.
  519. [09-May-20 11:24 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  520. like theoretical things are sun/trapping
  521.
  522. [09-May-20 11:24 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  523. and they seem pretty divisive
  524.
  525. [09-May-20 11:24 PM] Luthier#1578
  526. i disagree but
  527.
  528. [09-May-20 11:24 PM] Luthier#1578
  529. i dont think we have time to suspect
  530.
  531. [09-May-20 11:24 PM] Luthier#1578
  532. idk
  533.
  534. [09-May-20 11:24 PM] Luthier#1578
  535. maybe im being conceited
  536.
  537. [09-May-20 11:24 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  538. what other things could be suspected
  539.
  540. [09-May-20 11:25 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  541. besides sun/trapping
  542.
  543. [09-May-20 11:25 PM] Luthier#1578
  544. nothing
  545.
  546. [09-May-20 11:25 PM] Luthier#1578
  547. i think
  548.
  549. [09-May-20 11:25 PM] Luthier#1578
  550. those two should be suspected
  551.
  552. [09-May-20 11:25 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  553. and im telling you that theres too mixed of an opinion right now on them
  554.
  555. [09-May-20 11:25 PM] Luthier#1578
  556. kk
  557.
  558. [09-May-20 11:25 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  559. i think the opinion on sun could change
  560.
  561. [09-May-20 11:25 PM] BurntZebra#8147
  562. if more people began to use it
  563.
  564. [09-May-20 11:25 PM] Luthier#1578
  565. i think we should just wait it until dlc
  566.
  567. [09-May-20 11:25 PM] Luthier#1578
  568. and see what it is then
  569.
  570. [09-May-20 11:25 PM] Luthier#1578
  571. and then form a more solid method of approach
  572.
  573. [09-May-20 11:26 PM] Luthier#1578
  574. im just saying its gonna suck when
  575.
  576. [09-May-20 11:26 PM] Luthier#1578
  577. all the good LCplayers are gonna drop like flies in LC open
  578.
  579. [09-May-20 11:26 PM] Luthier#1578
  580. cuz the tier will be so variance based
  581.
  582. [09-May-20 11:26 PM] Luthier#1578
  583. actually
  584.
  585. [09-May-20 11:26 PM] Luthier#1578
  586. thatll be every tier
  587.
  588. [09-May-20 11:26 PM] Luthier#1578
  589. nvr mind
  590.
  591. [09-May-20 11:26 PM] Luthier#1578
  592. this years slam will be a clownfest
  593.
  594. [09-May-20 11:28 PM] Serene Grace#5243
  595. Support a sun Suspect not necessarily a ban
  596. Because it's such a controversial topic with low collateral
  597.
  598. [09-May-20 11:28 PM] Serene Grace#5243
  599. Examining it sooner better than later
  600.
  601. [09-May-20 11:52 PM] levi#6206
  602. levi1304/29/2020
  603. is stability a factor when the meta's going to change in a month anyways?
  604. that seems like a reason to care about stability less if anything since wed be dealing w an unstable meta either way
  605. we could wait to see if any of the introductions make the suspect of choice drastically less viable maybe
  606. but idk if i agree with treating suspects differently just bc a meta shift is coming up
  607. it makes sense if we just dont want to go through the effort of running another suspect, but if we want a suspect idt it should be an active deterrent either
  608. its not like the effort is wasted since the ban is still going to carry over through the next meta shift
  609. ឵឵ ឵឵04/29/2020
  610. if we ban diglett in a meta that would sorely benefit from diglett, we would potentially have to go through a process of unbanning it in a double jeopardy situation, which I would like to avoid
  611. levi1304/29/2020
  612. that feels like it's giving preferential treatment to diglett (or bulba) just bc it happens to occur the latest
  613. what if the meta would benefit a lot from cutiefly or drifloon
  614. which won't happen ofc but you get what i mean
  615.
  616. [09-May-20 11:52 PM] levi#6206
  617. these were my thoughts from before, i get the idea behind waiting for the dlc to drop but i dont agree
  618.
  619. [09-May-20 11:53 PM] levi#6206
  620. i generally just dont agree w considering future shifts when discussing the current meta
