  13. ===FAQ===
  14.
  15. Which race should I pick?
  16. None of them have advantages or disadvantages; the only differences are aesthetic.
  17.
  18. Which class should I pick?
  19. There are several melee DPS classes, several ranged DPS classes, a tank class, a healer class, and 2 types of rogue classes. Read this and decide which playstyle appeals to you the most:
  20. https://cubeworld.gamepedia.com/Classes
  21.
  22. How do I use a seed when generating a world?
  23. Seeds are no longer used; the same, single map is used for everyone. We waited 6 years for this.
  24.
  25. It's too dark!
  26. Press F to pull out your lantern, or go to a village's inn (bed symbol on the map), talk to the innkeeper, and pay 10 gold to skip the night. Once you unlock an item in your region that lets you access the spirit world (don't ask what it does; I don't know and "Wollay and Pixxie are here to answer questions..! But oops they won't even talk about basic mechanics like this when directly asked about them because they don't want to "spoil anything" during a closed beta testing period! Herp-a-fucking-derp"), you should use it every minute or so at nighttime if you're far from an inn since it greatly increases brightness. This game has no setting that allows you to increase the brightness. We waited 6 years for this shit.
  27.
  28. How do I see my controls?
  29. Press F1.
  30.
  31. How do I zoom in or out?
  32. Ctrl + mousewheel, even if you've changed the default keys.
  33.
  34. Can I resize the GUI?
  35. Yes. Press F2 and F3.
  36.
  37. How do I invite Steam friends to my multiplayer session?
  38. Press J, scroll down the list, click their name, and click invite.
  39.
  40. How do I find other players in multiplayer?
  41. You can fly to other players for free via the flight master in every village/town/city.
  42.
  43. Traveling is incredibly slow-paced, tedious, and an all-around unpleasant chore that feels like I'm being punished in a game that's supposed to be about exploration!
  44. Open your map with M. You can teleport to shrines of life you've visited before. Wollay and Pixxie saw fit not to tell anyone this even when posting """tips""" that were nothing but common sense bullshit like "Talk to NPCs" when the beta was released and everyone was confused by the massive number of weird changes and unintuitive, sometimes glitched, mechanics. I shit you not, "Talk to NPCs" is actually one of the "tips you should know" that Wollay & Pixxie thought needed to be posted, rather than IMPORTANT INFORMATION LIKE THIS (bypass the painfully boring chore known as traveling in this game by opening your map with M and teleporting to a shrine of life you've visited before) in a game about exploration.
  45.
  46. How do I check my skills?
  47. They no longer exist in any meaningful way - skill levels no longer exist. Your character does not become a more experienced fighter by fighting. Your character does not learn how to swim faster by swimming, and so on, for every single "skill."
  48. 6 years.
  49.
  50. Which enemies will attack me on sight?
  51. Anything with a red HP bar. Mobs with a green HP bar are neutral but will fight back if attacked, and NPCs with a blue HP bar can't be attacked, even on accident, and won't attack you.
  52. NOTE: look at the color of their HP BAR, not their NAME.
  53.
  54. I attacked an enemy but it didn't do any damage?
  55. It's way too strong for you to hurt at your current level. Run.
  56. Enemy power levels scale like so: white < green < blue < purple < gold/yellow
  57. Whites are usually easy to kill, greens are risky but manageable 1v1, blues will stomp you, purple and above will 1 or 2 shot you and are invincible against your attacks.
  58.
  59. How do I dodge/evade in combat?
  60. Middle mouse button by default.
  61.
  62. How do I climb?
  63. Jump at something and hold E.
  64.
  65. What's the order of item rarity?
  66. White < Green < Blue < Purple < Gold/Yellow < Red
  67.
  68. Why can't I equip a certain item?
  69. Your power level isn't high enough. Your power level is separate from your character's total/combat level. Open your inventory and your power level will be displayed on the left, or follow this link and click the word Expand to see a table that shows what your power level will be as your total/combat level increases:

  71.
  72. How do I upgrade my weapons?
  73. Visit the blacksmith in a town. https://www.instagram.com/p/BFYog79Bs4k/ NOPE, this is removed content, I think. Where there should've been a blacksmith, no NPC was there.
  74.
  75. Should I sell armor/weapons/etc. I don't need?
  76. Yes.
  77.
  78. Is there some way to break armor/weapons/etc. down into crafting components?
  79. No.
  80.
  81. How do I craft?
  82. https://cubeworld.gamepedia.com/Crafting
  83.
  84. How do I add spirits to weapons?
  85. Visit the customization bench by a town's blacksmith. https://cubeworld.gamepedia.com/Spirit_Cube
  86. Edit: do spirits even exist anymore? I've been playing for over half a dozen hours and I haven't found a single one. Even more major cut content..?
  87.
  88. Can you remove spirits from weapons?
  89. Yes, by right clicking them, but they'll be permanently destroyed.
  90.
  91. Is there any point to pets besides looks?
  92. Yes. Some of them can be ridden to increase your movement speed, some deal ranged damage, some deal melee damage, some heal you over time, and some pull aggro off of you.
  93. https://cubeworld.gamepedia.com/Pets
  94.
  95. How do I get/tame pets?
  96. https://cubeworld.gamepedia.com/Pet_Food
  97. Note that just like everything else in the game, it's tied to the region you're in, so you'll need to keep unlocking "reins" that allow you to ride your pet every single time you go to a new region.
  98. 6. Years. Plus another ~3 in development before the alpha was released. Fucking hell.
