  1. The research behind this survey aims to discover how native speakers of English learn and differentiate between different kinds of verbs in Japanese. This research will help to identify how people learn Japanese and expand the available knowledge about how people learn languages in general; this knowledge might then be used to find better strategies to teach these aspects of language to learners. The survey consists of three main parts:
  2.
  3. * A questionnaire about your history with language study
  4. * A short test on your knowledge of Japanese particles and grammar
  5. * A survey of the acceptability of various different Japanese sentences
  6.
