- [20:30] Moserah Hayussuin says, "I haven't seen Tea in like two years almost."
- [20:30] Moserah Hayussuin says, "Nobody even talking about her either."
- [20:30] Kofe says, "Yeah."
- [20:30] Kofe says, "Last time I saw her was at the festival."
- [20:30] Moserah Hayussuin says, "Nobody in Theria has seen 'em..."
- [20:30] Kofe asks, "Any clue of where to start?"
- [20:30] Moserah Hayussuin says, "Nobody in Ilburg said they have seen 'em."
- [20:30] Kofe says, "... Or Osrona."
- [20:30] Moserah Hayussuin says, "Best place to start would be Osrona."
- [20:31] Moserah Hayussuin says, "Cause I don't know if anyone has seen 'er."
- [20:31] Moserah Hayussuin asks, "What about Myllenoris?"
- [20:31] Moserah Hayussuin says, "I don't go there."
- [20:31] Kofe says, "... Yeah, I doubt she's there."
- [20:31] Kofe says, "I would've heard last time I went."
- [20:31] Moserah Hayussuin says, "Yeah. Mm."
- [20:32] Kofe says, "...."
- [20:32] Kofe says, "Hm."
- [20:32] Moserah Hayussuin asks, "If she ain't in Theria or Ilburg and Osrona don't know then what?"
- [20:32] Kofe says, "I don't know."
- [20:32] Kofe says, "It's-"
- [20:32] Moserah Hayussuin says, "Wouldn't surprise me if Theria made her vanish."
- [20:32] Moserah Hayussuin says, "With what, that dog-ears twat trying to eat me."
- [20:35] Kofe shook his head.
- "It's hard to think about it. With the wedding, and the lack of seeing her, and losing my lute, I've just been... completely distracted."
- He breathed in, then out.
- "I can't even work on my songs anymore. It bothers me. I can't think straight, either. People in Theria would have said something, some of them at least. Osrona is somewhere that I visit enough that I'd have heard. Ilburg no one would lie, Myllenoris is... they'd brag about it."
- He looked off to the side.
- "What should we do, Moss?"
- (Kofe)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:38] Hm. It was difficult; Moserah was having a fun time so far, everything seemed to be on the rise, on a good tune. Aside from that one Lynette incident; she was going to have an accident soon for sure, Moserah felt it...
- "Distracted due to a lack of Tea?", Mose cracks a bit of a joke but, it was less of a joke and more of a statement even if there was some dark humour then and there.
- "We need to do some proper delving then. Think about it like this..."
- If Moserah was a detective, she'd have to shed doubt on most of Esshar's individuals, "Did Tea have any enemies? People that didn't like her? Do you reckon someone wanted her to vanish? If we...
- Narrow down the scope of what we're looking at and for, we might get some answers."
- (Moserah Hayussuin)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:40] Kofe shook his head, answering honestly.
- "Everyone who's hated her in the recent years had plenty of chance to get rid of her. They didn't. If there was a lead, I'd be on it."
- He said, then corrected the woman.
- "And I'm distracted because a wraith destroyed my lute!"
- (Kofe)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:43] "As silly as it sounds, those people if they did hate her and managed to get rid of her? Might not confess to it and without any confirmation, you'll never know."
- This was annoying; was this the perfect murder; if Tea had been murdered, so far she was simply gone without a trace.
- "We don't know what has happened to her, all we got are just. Ideas and speculation right? For all we know she's probably imprisoned in some creep's hidden dungeon."
- A wraith destroyed Kofe's lute? How sad.
- "Get a new one made then. I am sure Dun will get you one."
- (Moserah Hayussuin)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:46] Dun. Of all the people it had to be Dun. No way, that'd take forever. It'd be an old man sleeping for hours. And Theria sucked right now, no, no. He turned to Moserah.
- "If I ever get one made for me, I want it to be the best I can imagine. I'm sticking to bought stuff until then. And... I want you to pick one. Tea used to be the one who picked it, she knew how to uphold our values. So, until we find her either locked up somewhere or dead? You're the one who's... buying. Or finding."
- A pause. A look around the trees.
- ".. I doubt you can make one. But the markets about everywhere have some. You pick the city."
- (Kofe)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:47] Name: "Broken Lute"
- Desc: In battle with the Wraith of Barsburg, the bard was nearly relieved of his life- yet in his stead, his faithful lute took the blow for him. Unfortunately...delicate musical instruments are not made to be bludgeoned by a heavy metal weapon, and it's shattered to pieces. It'd take a while to become used to another musical instrument enough to use it with his magics... (Unhealable 2 OOC days.)
- Inflictor: Wraith of Barsburg
- Class: TEMPORARY
- Nerf: -40 VIT
- Time Left: 48 hours
- (Kofe)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:51] Well in that case, the old man was off the table for lute business.
- Then again Dun was already handling orders for Penelope; to give the old man more work could slow everything down which is just not a great idea come to think of it.
- "Right-right-right, so I'm the Tea for the day, to pick out a good ol' lute.", it could be done, they could easily find a decent lute; yet their choice was limited and so for that?
- "Theria has a psycho-bitch loose cannon of a warlord roaming about... Nope, not a good idea."
- "Ilburg doesn't really have too many musicians. Limited choice there..."
- "Not sure about Myllenoris, they might have a love for music? I do not know, never been there."
- "SO that leaves us with Osrona I guess, Osrona is likely our best choice for music since they seem to have everything within that glass and stone cage they call a home."
- Moserah couldn't make one that much was true, but she did have an observant set of eyes, so there was that.
- (Moserah Hayussuin)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:53] Osrona, then. Kofe nodded to the girl before departing right back towards the city they just left.
- "It's important that someone else picks it for me. I learn from observing others, so when it comes to something that's for me? It has to be from others observing me."
- Probably some paranoia, or some... artistic belief. Eccentric, really. Though it was expected of someone like Kofe to a degree.
- "I trust you to find the right one for me."
- (Kofe)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:55] Kofe says, "Alright."
- [20:55] Kofe says, "Here we are."
- [21:00] Time for this Rhoynish to display her shopping skills; having been graced with a task handed off to her by Kofe, she knew what this meant. A lute was a bard's source of power, without an instrument they were doomed and any party they were apart of? Had less chance to succeed!
- "Allllright.", loudly she marks off her presence, eyeing the stall.
- "I will find the right one, Kofe, do not worry. If there is anything I have learned, if you look hard enough you can find anything you want. Anything, anything at all.", a dark skinned hand points over to a rack that had numerous items that looked like musical instruments hung up upon it.
- "You said a lute yeah? What does a lute look like, because I don't actually use musical doo-dars."
- (Moserah Hayussuin)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:00] Moserah Hayussuin says, "I use medical doo-dars."
- [21:02] Kofe had to teach so much to Moserah. How horrifying. How could she not know what a lute looked like? He had been using one! How unobservant could a single girl be? The young man shook his head, his... eccentricity and barding seemed to show itself best in a moment like this one.
- "Don't touch them. Be gentle, careful. They're instruments, not weapons of war, Moss! Look—" He gestured at one of the lutes.
- "It looks like this. Now... I need you to find the one that most feels like it belong with me. This is your task."
- (Kofe)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:06] To be fair, Kofe never played the bleeding thing around her and well, she was never told what a damned lute was and what it did until this very day.
- "Not weapons of war huh? Really? I bet you could play a right old banger on one of these weird spoon-shaped stringy things.", but now she knew what a lute looked like, an oversized wooden spoon with strings across it with a plughole in the middle of the spoony-section.
- Naturally, Rhoynish fingers reached out and took off a lute and wielded it in menacing fashion, without a doubt the stall keeper was looking a bit sweaty, a bit nervous. This professional wasn't trained in music.
- "Yeah, my grip ain't destructive. I'm a doctor for Kromm's sake, Kofe. Watch. I'll just give it a gentle flick."
- A thumb is sent crashing downwards, clipping one of the strings as a loud.
- Twang! Can be heard, Moserah's music skill was below ten percent.
- "How do you even use these things?"
- (Moserah Hayussuin)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:08] Much to the bullied merchant's dismay, Kofe remained in the corner of the shop, staring down Moserah and allowing her to find the way this was all meant to go. With his arms crossed over his chest, the young bard allowed his friend to make mistakes, never giving quite a hint of how to play, use, or even what to do with one.
- This was a journey she had to accomplish, for the artist was only as great as the crowd allowed him to be.
- (Kofe)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:12] It was time for Moserah to learn the ways of the lute; like that of a trained medical professional she plays it surgically, plucking each string over and over until she learns that if she played them just right! You could get a pleasing sequence to one's ears; young or old.
- To Moserah it was music, to Kofe however it probably sounded like a rip-off of Stairway to Heaven, terribly compressed, upload to Esshartube and played in both D Minor with awful pitch shifting. To put it in the most layman of terms; Moserah's skills needed refinement and her song some much needed tender loving care.
- "I can see why you enjoy playing one of these things now, Kofe, it's making a lot of noise and it doesn't even hurt.", she says with a delighted expression, finishing off her racket and placing the lute back where it belonged.
- (Moserah Hayussuin)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:15] The forbidden tune. How dare Moserah's notes even remind the thought of stairway to heaven; the one melody banned from any musical shop all across Esshar? Regardless, Kofe allowed the woman to betray this sanctum of peace in order to better understand what he was about, what being a bard was about, what being an artist was about.
- When she placed back the instrument it was clear to Kofe: This would not have been the one.
- It made that much more sense.
- "Yes. Music brings alive thoughts."
- (Kofe)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:19] "I think that one isn't as ground breaking as it ought to be.", Moserah says with a concerned nod, dismissing the lute as good for a beginner but for a trained professional such as herself or a grandmaster like Kofe? It just did not make the cut, it was gaaaarbage.
- "Ooh, how about this one, looks a bit big and heavy but I bet it hits hard.", two hands reached up and withdrew another lute as if it was a weapon that could blast off the britches of a runaway jockey. It felt immensely powerful within Moserah's hands and she was feeling an intense and palpable excitement building up.
- "Mmm."
- It was as if her life had been building up to this point, just like her excitement over a lute.
- So she had to cut the tension loose with her hand sailing down to twang all five strings one after the other in one linear quick succession, unleashing a powerful cord of tune that almost knocked Moserah off her feet; she went flying back, crashing into a wall.
- (Moserah Hayussuin)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:23] A powerful sound. Far too powerful. Magi tended to use mana when they didn't need to, and perhaps that's what Moserah had done just now. Of course, the echoing, deep cut that the strum strings had unleashed made the whole boutique shake in fear. This was but another test of might along the way; ruining the world around you did not make for a good party.
- It was obvious that Moserah needed to observe that, too, and judge if Kofe could handle such sound or if his fingers needed something more delicate.
- All was in her hands. Literally.
- (Kofe)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:32] A brief setback, her shoes having been blasted off in the gust of sound that she had unleashed upon the Osronan shop. No, this lute would not do, it was too powerful for mortal hands! To give Kofe this could either result in the destruction of any place he chooses to play his tunes or the end of his career by his own hands, strumming.
- "Ow, okay, okay, that isn't the one."
- Moserah puts the lute down, crossing it off the list!
- "Wait, that one looks pretty great, it's only got four strings and looks real gentle. Maybe it'll be the one for you.", only to immediately reach over to the next lute, this time it was a mighty fine looker; polished oaken wood, golden trimming and mithril strings were just three of the many features one could find by just looking at it's beauty.
- "I think you should try it out, go on."
- This time, Moserah hands it over to Kofe; it was his turn to give it a go.
- (Moserah Hayussuin)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:39] Finally. The time to try it out had come. The young bard nods at the offer, reaching out for the instrument that was delivered to him. He turned it around a bit, feeling out its shape, its... vibes. His lips curved up to form a small smile before he finally strummed. He could tell it'd be good. That the sound that would come out would be perfect to replace what had been lost. Strong, yet beautiful. Like Kofe.
- Plucking at notes the Rhoynish finally adopted a new baby of his. His heart was right there, the sounds escaping his instrument were... just right. An upbeat melody, with dragged on dramatic stops. And again. Kofe's lips parted as those words were finally uttered. A song he had been working on, and an exclusive play for Moserah's sake.
- "The fairer sex they often call it... But her love's as unfair as a crook. It steals all my reason, commits every treason— of logic, with naught but a look.
- A storm raging on the horizon.Of longing, heartache and..."
- ... He looked over his shoulder, stopping where he was at. He couldn't just say that in a shop, not with the full context. Not until it was finished and ready. Those memories, this damage that was being undone step by step with the help of a loved one; it wrote his every words.
- (Kofe)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:39] Kofe says, "I think that's the one."
- [21:45] It was indeed the one, just as Moserah had so painstakingly prophesied to Kofe, it was the one. And by the sounds of it, Kofe was beginning to believe; notes plucked and lyrics given, Moserah was quite sure that her task had been done and that lack of lute which was a serious injury to a bard like Kofe, could be healed.
- "Just a small snippet, hey, Kofe?", Moserah was surprised with the words he said, there had to be a reason for those particular words; a ballad, a story from his adventures. Penny did refer to Kofe as a lorespeaker, so it only made sense they lived and breathed tales and stories; if this was not the case then it was just musical genius and then that alone kind of diluted the coolness of those lyrics.
- "I think it fits like a glove, I am sure you'll crank out lots of songs with it, provided it doesn't get broken."
- The grin present on Moserah's was almost shit-eating; that had to clear some of Kofe's distractions and it qualified her as a professional lute picker to boot.
- "Now what though... You got the lute, but surely there's more yes?"
- (Moserah Hayussuin)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:47] He shook his head with the next question.
- "No. Nothing you can do. Now I just have to get used to it on my own; but it'll come with practice. I have to... break this one in, as they say. Play until things loosen up and are tightened again."
- He nodded, offering a smile to the girl with a few more words.
- "Let's go back home, yeah?"
- (Kofe)
